The people replied; It is a Shamla; a sheet with a fringe. That woman said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I have brought it so that you may wear it. So the Prophet ﷺ took it because he was in need of it and wore it. A man among his companions; seeing him wearing it; said; O Allah Apostle! Please give it to me to wear. The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes. and gave him that sheet. When the Prophet left; the man was blamed by his companions who said; It was not nice on your part to ask the Prophet for it while you know that he took it because he was in need of it; and you also know that he the Prophet never turns down anybody request that he might be asked for. That man said; I just wanted to have its blessings as the Prophet ﷺ had put it on; so l hoped that I might be shrouded in it. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2555
  2. Narrated Abu Juray Jabir Ibn Salim AlHujaymi: I saw a man whose opinion was accepted by the people; and whatever he said they submitted to it. I asked: Who is he? They said: This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said: On you be peace; Messenger of Allah; twice. He said: Do not say On you be peace; for On you be peace is a greeting for the dead; but say Peace be upon you. I asked: You are the Messenger of Allah may peace be upon you ? He said: I am the Messenger of Allah Whom you call when a calamity befalls you and He removes it; when you suffer from drought and you call Him; He grows food for you; and when you are in a desolate land or in a desert and your camel strays and you call Him; He returns it to you. I said: Give me some advice. He said: Do not abuse anyone. He said that he did not abuse a freeman; or a slave; or a camel or a sheep thenceforth. He said: Do not look down upon any good work; and when you speak to your brother; show him a cheerful face. This is a good work. Have your lower garment halfway down your shin; if you cannot do it; have it up to the ankles. Beware of trailing the lower garment; for it is conceit and Allah does not like conceit. What is your opinion regarding a man who assumes Ihram and puts on a cloak after perfuming his body with scent? The Prophet ﷺ waited for a while; and then the Divine Inspiration descended upon him. Umar pointed out to Yala; telling him to come. Yala came and pushed his head underneath the screen which was covering the Prophet ﷺ and behold! The Prophet face was red and he kept on breathing heavily for a while and then he was relieved. Thereupon he said; Where is the questioner who asked me about Umra a while ago? The Apostle of Allah ﷺ looked at him for a short while; and then became quiet; and revelation began descending upon him; and Umar gestured with his hand to Yala Bin Umaya to come. Yala came and he entered his head beneath the cloth and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with his face red; and breathing heavily. Then he felt relieved of that burden and he said: Where is the man who was just asking me about Umra?
