He said: Do not wear shirts; or Imamahs; or burnouses; or pants; or Khuffs unless there are no sandals; if there are no sandals; then wear Khuffs that come beneath the ankles. And do not wear any garment that has been dyed with Wars or saffron; or has been touched by Wars or saffron. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25484		Narrated Yala Ibn Umayah: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ when he was at AlJiranah. He was wearing perfume or the mark of saffron was on him and he was wearing a tunic. He said: Messenger of Allah; what do you command me to do while performing my Umrah. In the meantime; Allah; the Exalted; sent a revelation to the Prophet ﷺ. When he the Prophet came to himself gradually; he asked: Where is the man who asking about umrah? When the man came he the Prophet said: Wash the perfume which is on you; or he said: Wash the mark of saffron the narrator is doubtful ; take off the tunic; then do in your umrah as you do in your hajj. In the morning I went to the Prophet ﷺ and gave him a greeting; but he did not respond to me nor did he welcome me. He said: Go away and wash this off yourself. I then went away and washed it off me. I came to him but there remained a spot of it on me. I give him a greeting; but he did not respond to me nor did he welcome me. He said: Go away and wash it off yourself. I then went away and washed it off me. I then came and gave him a greeting. He responded to me and welcomed me; saying: The angels do not attend the funeral of an unbeliever bringing good to it; nor a man who smears himself with saffron; nor a man who is sexually defiled. He said: He permitted the man who was sexually defiled to perform ablution when he slept; ate or drank. MuwataMalik-017-001-35742		Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father that Asma bint Abi Bakr had worn clothes that were completely dyed with safflower while she was in ihram; though there was not any saffron in them. Yahya said that Malik was asked if a garment which had been perfumed could be used for ihram if the smell of the perfume had gone; and he said; Yes; as long as there is no saffron or yellow dye in it.
