And when I intended to celebrate my marriage to Fatima; the daughter of the Prophet; I made an arrangement with a goldsmith from Bani Qainuqa that he should go with me to bring Idhkhir i.e. a kind of grass used by gold-smiths which I intended to sell to gold-smiths in order to spend its price on the marriage banquet. While I was collecting ropes and sacks of pack saddles for my two camels which were kneeling down beside an Ansari dwelling and after collecting what I needed; I suddenly found that the humps of the two camels had been cut off and their flanks had been cut open and portions of their livers had been taken out. On seeing that; I could not help weeping. I asked; Who has done that? They i.e. the people said; Hamza Bin Abdul Muttalib has done it. He is present in this house with some Ansari drinkers; a girl singer; and his friends. The singer said in her song; O Hamza; get at the fat camels! On hearing this; Hamza rushed to his sword and cut of the camels humps and cut their flanks open and took out portions from their livers. Then I came to the Prophet; with whom Zaid Bin Haritha was present. The Prophet ﷺ noticed my state and asked; What is the matter? I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; I have never experienced such a day as today! Hamza attacked my two camels; cut off their humps and cut their flanks open; and he is still present in a house along some drinkers. The Prophet ﷺ asked for his cloak; put it on; and proceeded; followed by Zaid Bin Haritha and myself; till he reached the house where Hamza was. He asked the permission to enter; and he was permitted. The Prophet ﷺ started blaming Hamza for what he had done. Hamza was drunk and his eyes were red. He looked at the Prophet ﷺ then raised his eyes to look at his knees and raised his eves more to look at his face and then said; You are not but my father slaves. 6. It has been reported by Salama Bin AlAkwa: We fought the Battle of Hawazin along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. One day when we were having our breakfast with the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him ; a man came riding a red camel. He made it kneel down; extracted a strip of leather from its girth and tethered the camel with it. Then he began to take food with the people and look curiously around. We were in a poor condition as some of us were on foot being without any riding animals. All of a sudden; he left us hurriedy; came to his camel; untethered it; made it kneel down; mounted it and urged the beast which ran off with him. A man on a brown rhe-camel chased him taking him for a spy. Salama the narrator said: I followed on foot. I ran on until I was near the thigh of the camel. I advanced further until I was near the haunches of the camel. I advanced still further until I caught hold of the nosestring of the camel. I made it kneel down. As soon as it placed its knee on the ground; I drew my sword and struck at the head; of the rider who fell down. I brought the camel driving it along with the man baggage and weapons. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came forward to meet me and the people were with him. He asked: Who has killed the man? The people said: Ibn Akwa. He said: Everything of the man is for him Ibn Akwa. When I saw that state of my two camels; I could not help weeping. I asked; Who has done this? The people replied; Hamza Bin Abdul Muttalib who is staying with some Ansari drunks in this house. I went away till I reached the Prophet ﷺ and Zaid Bin Haritha was with him. The Prophet ﷺ noticed on my face the effect of what I had suffered; so the Prophet ﷺ asked. What is wrong with you. I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I have never seen such a day as today. Hamza attacked my two camels; cut off their humps; and ripped open their flanks; and he is sitting there in a house in the company of some drunks. The Prophet ﷺ then asked for his covering sheet; put it on; and set out walking followed by me and Zaid Bin Haritha till he came to the house where Hamza was. He asked permission to enter; and they allowed him; and they were drunk. Allah Messenger ﷺ started rebuking Hamza for what he had done; but Hamza was drunk and his eyes were red. Hamza looked at Allah Messenger ﷺ and then he raised his eyes; looking at his knees; then he raised up his eyes looking at his umbilicus; and again he raised up his eyes look in at his face. A singing girl is singing for him and his Companions. While singing she said Oh Hamza; rise to these plumpy old she Camels. So he jumped to the sword and cut off their humps; pierced their hips and took out their livers. Ali said I went till I entered upon the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ while Zaid Bin Harithah was with him. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ realized what I had met with. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ aid What is the matter with you? I said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ; I never saw the thing that happened with me today. Hamzah wronged my she Camels; he cut off their humps; pierced their hips. Lo! He is in a house with drunkards. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ asked for his cloak. It was brought to him. He then went out; I and Zaid Bin Harithah followed him until we reached the house where Hamzah was. He asked permission to entre. He was permitted. He found drunkards there.
