  1. This tradition has been narrated on the authority of Salama who said: We fought by the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Hunain. When we encountered the enemy; I advanced and ascended a hillock. A man from the enemy side turned towards me and I shot him with an arrow. He ducked and hid himself from me. I could not understand what he did; but all of a sudden I saw that a group of people appeared from the other hillock. They and the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ met in combat; but the Companions of the Prophet turned back and I too turned back defeated. I had two mantles; one of which I was wrapping round the waist covering the lower part of my body and the other I was putting around my shoulders. My waist-wrapper got loose and I held the two mantles together. In this downcast condition I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was riding on his white mule. He said: The son of Akwa finds himself to be utterly perplexed. Wher. the Companions gathered round him from all sides. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got down from his mule. picked up a handful of dust from the ground; threw it into their enemy faces and said: May these faces be deformed 1 There was no one among the enemy whose eyes were not filled with the dust from this handful. So they turned back fleeing. and Allah the Exalted and Glorious defeated them; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed their booty among the Muslims. SahihMuslim-017-001-18083
  2. Narrated Habib Bin Abi Thabit: I went to Abu Wail to ask him about those who had rebelled against Ali. On that Abu Wail said; We were at Siffin a city on the bank of the Euphrates; the place where me battle took place between Ali and Muawiya A man said; Will you be on the side of those who are called to consult Allah Book to settle the dispute ? Ali said; Yes I agree that we should settle the matter in the light of the Quran. Some people objected to Ali agreement and wanted to fight. On that Sahl Bin Hunaif said; Blame yourselves! I remember how; on the day of AlHudaibiya i.e. the peace treaty between the Prophet ﷺ and the Quraish pagans ; if we had been allowed to choose fighting; we would have fought the pagans. At that time Umar came to the Prophet and said; Arent we on the right path and they pagans in the wrong? Wont our killed persons go to Paradise; and theirs in the Fire? The Prophet replied; Yes. Umar further said; Then why should we let our religion be degraded and return before Allah has settled the matter between us? The Prophet ﷺ said; O the son of AlKhattab! No doubt; I am Allah Messenger ﷺ and Allah will never neglect me. So Umar left the place angrily and he was so impatient that he went to Abu Bakr and said; O Abu Bakr! Arent we on the right path and they pagans on the wrong? Abu Bakr said; O the son of AlKhattab! He is Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and Allah will never neglect him. Then Surat AlFath The Victory was revealed. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7157
  3. Narrated Aisha: Allah Messenger ﷺ came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Buath a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar; i.e. Khazraj and Aus; before Islam. The Prophet ﷺ reclined on the bed and turned his face to the other side. Abu Bakr came and scolded me and said protestingly; Instrument of Satan in the presence of Allah Messenger ﷺ ? Allah Messenger ﷺ turned his face towards him and said; Leave them. When Abu Bakr became inattentive; I waved the two girls to go away and they left. It was the day of Id when negroes used to play with leather shields and spears. Either I requested Allah Messenger ﷺ or he himself asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then he let me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying; Carry on; O Bani Arfida i.e. negroes ! When I got tired; he asked me if that was enough. I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4577
  4. Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood to deliver a Khutbah; he said: O you people! You will be gathered before Allah naked and uncircumcised. Then he recited: As We began the first creation; We shall repeat it... until the end of the Ayah 21:104. He said: The first to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection is Ibrahim. Indeed some men from my Ummah will be brought and taken from the left side; so I will say: My Lord! My followers! It will be said: Indeed you do not know what they innovated after you. So I shall say as the righteous slave said: And I was a witness over them while I dwelt among them; but when You took me up; You were the Watcher over them. If You punish them; they are your slaves; and if You forgive them... [until the end of] the Ayah 5:117 & 118 I shall be told: These people have not ceased turning on their heels as apostates ever since you parted from them. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10044
  5. Narrated Abbad Bin Tamim from his uncle who said: The Prophet ﷺ went out to the Mousalla to offer the Istisqa prayer; faced the Qibla and offered a two rakat prayer and turned his cloak inside out. Narrated Abu Bakr; The Prophet ﷺ put the right side of his cloak on his left side. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-351
  6. Narrated Salim father: about the Prophet dream in which he has seen Abu Bakr and Umar: The Prophet ﷺ said; I saw in a dream that the people had gathered. Then Abu Bakr stood up and pulled out one or two buckets full of water from a well and there was weakness in his pulling - may Allah forgive him. Then Ibn AlKhattab stood up; and the bucket turned into a very large one and I have never seen any strong man among the people doing such a hard job. He pulled out so much water that the people drank to their satisfaction and watered their camels to their fill; and then after quenching their thirst they sat beside the water. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1654
