Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude.
But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and believe in the (Revelation) sent down to Muhammad - for it is the Truth from their Lord, - He will remove from them their ills and improve their condition.
Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1045Narrated Anas: The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah will gather the believers on the Day of Resurrection in the same way as they are gathered in this life ; and they will say; Let us ask someone to intercede for us with our Lord that He may relieve us from this place of ours. Then they will go to Adam and say; O Adam! Dont you see the people people condition ? Allah created you with His Own Hands and ordered His angels to prostrate before you; and taught you the names of all the things. Please intercede for us with our Lord so that He may relieve us from this place of ours. Adam will say; I am not fit for this undertaking and mention to them the mistakes he had committed; and add; But you d better go to Noah as he was the first Apostle sent by Allah to the people of the Earth. They will go to Noah who will reply; I am not fit for this undertaking; and mention the mistake which he made; and add; But youd better go to Abraham; Khalil AlRahman. They will go to Abraham who will reply; I am not fit for this undertaking; and mention to them the mistakes he made; and add; But youd better go to Moses; a slave whom Allah gave the Torah and to whom He spoke directly They will go to Moses who will reply; I am not fit for this undertaking; and mention to them the mistakes he made; and add; Youd better go to Jesus; Allah slave and His Apostle and His Word Be: And it was and a soul created by Him. They will go to Jesus who will say; I am not fit for this undertaking; but youd better go to Muhammad whose sins of the past and the future had been forgiven by Allah. So they will come to me and I will ask the permission of my Lord; and I will be permitted to present myself before Him. When I see my Lord; I will fall down in prostration before Him and He will leave me in prostration as long as He wishes; and then it will be said to me; O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will then raise my head and praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me; and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede for a certain kind of people and will fix a limit whom I will admit into Paradise. I will come back again; and when I see my Lord again ; I will fall down in prostration before Him; and He will leave me in prostration as long as He wishes; and then He will say; O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me; and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede for a certain kind of people and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise; I will return again; and when I see my Lord; I will fall down in prostration and He will leave me in prostration as long as He wishes; and then He will say; O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me; and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede for a certain kind of people and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise. I will come back and say; O my Lord! None remains in Hell Fire but those whom Quran has imprisoned therein and for whom eternity in Hell Fire has become inevitable. The Prophet ﷺ added; There will come out of Hell Fire everyone who says: La ilaha illal-lah; and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a barley grain. Then there will come out of Hell Fire everyone who says: La ilaha illal-lah; and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a wheat grain. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1079Narrated Abu Bakra: The Prophet ﷺ said; Time has come back to its original state which it had when Allah created the Heavens and the Earth; the year is twelve months; of which four are sacred; and out of these four three are in succession; namely; Dh AlQada; Dhu AlHijja and Muharram; and the fourth one Rajab Mudar which is between Jumad Ath-Tham and Shaban. The Prophet ﷺ then asked us; Which month is this? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. He kept quiet so long that we thought he might call it by another name. Then he said; Isnt it Dhu AlHijja? We said; Yes. He asked What town is this? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. Then he kept quiet so long that we thought he might call it by another name. He then said; Isnt it the forbidden town Mecca ? We said; Yes. He asked; What is the day today? We said; Allah and His Apostle know it better. Then he kept quiet so long that we thought that he might call it by another name. Then he said; Isnt it the Day of AlNahr slaughtering of sacrifices ? We said; Yes. Then he said; Your blood lives ; your properties; the sub narrator Muhammad; said: I think he also said :..and your honor are as sacred to one another like the sanctity of this Day of yours; in this town of yours; in this month of yours. It is incumbent upon those who are present to inform it to those who are absent for perhaps the informed one might comprehend it understand it better than some of the present audience. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1141Narrated Mabad Bin Hilal AlAnzi: We; i.e.; some people from Basra gathered and went to Anas Bin Malik; and we went in company with Thabit AlBunnani so that he might ask him about the Hadith of Intercession on our behalf. Behold; Anas was in his palace; and our arrival coincided with his Duha prayer. We asked permission to enter and he admitted us while he was sitting on his bed. We said to Thabit; Do not ask him about anything else first but the Hadith of Intercession. He said; O Abu Hamza! There are your brethren from Basra coming to ask you about the Hadith of Intercession. Anas then said; Muhammad talked to us saying; On the Day of Resurrection the people will surge with each other like waves; and then they will come to Adam and say; Please intercede for us with your Lord. He will say; I am not fit for that but youd better go to Abraham as he is the Khalil of the Beneficent. They will go to Abraham and he will say; I am not fit for that; but youd better go to Moses as he is the one to whom Allah spoke directly. So they will go to Moses and he will say; I am not fit for that; but youd better go to Jesus as he is a soul created by Allah and His Word. Be: And it was they will go to Jesus and he will say; I am not fit for that; but youd better go to Muhammad. They would come to me and I would say; I am for that. Then I will ask for my Lord permission; and it will be given; and then He will inspire me to praise Him with such praises as I do not know now. So I will praise Him with those praises and will fall down; prostrate before Him. Then it will be said; O Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for your will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; my followers! My followers! And then it will be said; Go and take out of Hell Fire all those who have faith in their hearts; equal to the weight of a barley grain. I will go and do so and return to praise Him with the same praises; and fall down prostrate before Him. Then it will be said; O Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; my followers! My followers! It will be said; Go and take out of it all those who have faith in their hearts equal to the weight of a small ant or a mustard seed. I will go and do so and return to praise Him with the same praises; and fall down in prostration before Him. It will be said; O; Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; my followers! Then He will say; Go and take out all those in whose hearts there is faith even to the lightest; lightest mustard seed. Take them out of the Fire. I will go and do so. When we left Anas; I said to some of my companions; Let pass by AlHasan who is hiding himself in the house of Abi Khalifa and request him to tell us what Anas Bin Malik has told us. So we went to him and we greeted him and he admitted us. We said to him; O Abu Said! We came to you from your brother Anas Bin Malik and he related to us a Hadith about the intercession the like of which I have never heard. He said; What is that? Then we told him of the Hadith and said; He stopped at this point of the Hadith. He said; What then? We said; He did not add anything to that. He said; Anas related the Hadith to me twenty years ago when he was a young fellow. I dont know whether he forgot or if he did not like to let you depend on what he might have said. We said; O Abu Saeed ! Let us know that. He smiled and said; Man was created hasty. I did not mention that; but that I wanted to inform you of it. Anas told me the same as he told you and said that the Prophet ﷺ added; I then return for a fourth time and praise Him similarly and prostrate before Him me the same as he O Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request : and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; allow me to intercede for whoever said; None has the right to be worshiped except Allah. Then Allah will say; By my Power; and my Majesty; and by My Supremacy; and by My Greatness; I will take out of Hell Fire whoever said: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah. The Chapter on Allah And Prophets Praise And Prostration in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Talk of the Lord to the Prophets and others on the Day of Resurrection in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1148Narrated Anas Bin Malik: The night Allah Messenger ﷺ was taken for a journey from the sacred Masjid of Mecca AlKaba: Three persons came to him in a dreamy while he was sleeping in the Sacred Masjid before the Divine Inspiration was revealed to Him. One of them said; Which of them is he? The middle second angel said; He is the best of them. The last third angle said; Take the best of them. Only that much happened on that night and he did not see them till they came on another night; i.e. after The Divine Inspiration was revealed to him. Fath AlBari Page 258; Vol. 17 and he saw them; his eyes were asleep but his heart was not--and so is the case with the prophets: their eyes sleep while their hearts do not sleep. So those angels did not talk to him till they carried him and placed him beside the well of Zamzam. From among them Gabriel took charge of him. Gabriel cut open the part of his body between his throat and the middle of his chest heart and took all the material out of his chest and Abdomen and then washed it with Zamzam water with his own hands till he cleansed the inside of his body; and then a gold tray containing a gold bowl full of belief and wisdom was brought and then Gabriel stuffed his chest and throat blood vessels with it and then closed it the chest. He then ascended with him to the heaven of the world and knocked on one of its doors. The dwellers of the Heaven asked; Who is it? He said; Gabriel. They said; Who is accompanying you? He said; Muhammad. They said; Has he been called? He said; Yes They said; He is welcomed. So the dwellers of the Heaven became pleased with his arrival; and they did not know what Allah would do to the Prophet ﷺ on earth unless Allah informed them. The Prophet ﷺ met Adam over the nearest Heaven. Gabriel said to the Prophet; He is your father; greet him. The Prophet ﷺ greeted him and Adam returned his greeting and said; Welcome; O my Son! O what a good son you are! Behold; he saw two flowing rivers; while he was in the nearest sky. He asked; What are these two rivers; O Gabriel? Gabriel said; These are the sources of the Nile and the Euphrates. Then Gabriel took him around that Heaven and behold; he saw another river at the bank of which there was a palace built of pearls and emerald. He put his hand into the river and found its mud like musk Adhfar. He asked; What is this; O Gabriel? Gabriel said; This is the Kauthar which your Lord has kept for you. Then Gabriel ascended with him to the second Heaven and the angels asked the same questions as those on the first Heaven; i.e.; Who is it? Gabriel replied; Gabriel. They asked; Who is accompanying you? He said; Muhammad. They asked; Has he been sent for? He said; Yes. Then they said; He is welcomed. Then he Gabriel ascended with the Prophet ﷺ to the third Heaven; and the angels said the same as the angels of the first and the second Heavens had said. Then he ascended with him to the fourth Heaven and they said the same; and then he ascended with him to the fifth Heaven and they said the same; and then he ascended with him to the sixth Heaven and they said the same; then he ascended with him to the seventh Heaven and they said the same. On each Heaven there were prophets whose names he had mentioned and of whom I remember Idris on the second Heaven; Aaron on the fourth Heavens another prophet whose name I dont remember; on the fifth Heaven; Abraham on the sixth Heaven; and Moses on the seventh Heaven because of his privilege of talking to Allah directly. Moses said to Allah ; O Lord! I thought that none would be raised up above me. But Gabriel ascended with him the Prophet for a distance above that; the distance of which only Allah knows; till he reached the Lote Tree beyond which none may pass and then the Irresistible; the Lord of Honor and Majesty approached and came closer till he Gabriel was about two bow lengths or even nearer. It is said that it was Gabriel who approached and came closer to the Prophet. Fate AlBari Page 263; 264; Vol. 17. Among the things which Allah revealed to him then; was: Fifty prayers were enjoined on his followers in a day and a night. Then the Prophet ﷺ descended till he met Moses; and then Moses stopped him and asked; O Muhammad ! What did your Lord en join upon you? The Prophet ﷺ replied; He enjoined upon me to perform fifty prayers in a day and a night. Moses said; Your followers cannot do that; Go back so that your Lord may reduce it for you and for them. So the Prophet ﷺ turned to Gabriel as if he wanted to consult him about that issue. Gabriel told him of his opinion; saying; Yes; if you wish. So Gabriel ascended with him to the Irresistible and said while he was in his place; O Lord; please lighten our burden as my followers cannot do that. So Allah deducted for him ten prayers where upon he returned to Moses who stopped him again and kept on sending him back to his Lord till the enjoined prayers were reduced to only five prayers. Then Moses stopped him when the prayers had been reduced to five and said; O Muhammad! By Allah; I tried to persuade my nation; Bani Israel to do less than this; but they could not do it and gave it up. However; your followers are weaker in body; heart; sight and hearing; so return to your Lord so that He may lighten your burden. The Prophet ﷺ turned towards Gabriel for advice and Gabriel did not disapprove of that. So he ascended with him for the fifth time. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Lord; my followers are weak in their bodies; hearts; hearing and constitution; so lighten our burden. On that the Irresistible said; O Muhammad! the Prophet replied; Labbaik and Sadaik. Allah said; The Word that comes from Me does not change; so it will be as I enjoined on you in the Mother of the Book. Allah added; Every good deed will be rewarded as ten times so it is fifty prayers in the Mother of the Book in reward but you are to perform only five in practice. The Prophet ﷺ returned to Moses who asked; What have you done? He said; He has lightened our burden: He has given us for every good deed a tenfold reward. Moses said; By Allah! I tried to make Bani Israel observe less than that; but they gave it up. So go back to your Lord that He may lighten your burden further. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Moses! By Allah; I feel shy of returning too many times to my Lord. On that Gabriel said; Descend in Allah Name. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1155Narrated Mousa Bin Abi Aisha: Saeed Bin Jubair reported from Ibn Abbas regarding the explanation of the Verse: Do not move your tongue concerning the Quran to make haste therewith. He said; The Prophet ﷺ used to undergo great difficulty in receiving the Divine Inspiration and used to move his lips. Ibn Abbas said to Said ; I move them my lips as Allah Messenger ﷺ used to move his lips. And Saeed said to me ; I move my lips as I saw Ibn Abbas moving his lips; and then he moved his lips. So Allah revealed:- O Muhammad! Do not move your tongue concerning the Quran to make haste therewith. It is for Us to collect it and give you O Muhammad the ability to recite it. i.e.; to collect it in your chest and then you recite it. 75.16-17 But when We have recited it; to you O Muhammad through Gabriel then follow you its recital. 75.18 This means; You should listen to it and keep quiet and then it is upon Us to make you recite it. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1314Narrated Anas Bin Malik: That he heard Umar second speech he delivered when he sat on the pulpit on the day following the death of the Prophet ﷺ Umar recited the Tashahhud while Abu Bakr was silent. Umar said; I wish that Allah Messenger ﷺ had outlived all of us; i.e.; had been the last to die. But if Muhammad is dead; Allah nevertheless has kept the light amongst you from which you can receive the same guidance as Allah guided Muhammad with that. And Abu Bakr is the companion of Allah Messenger ﷺ He is the second of the two in the cave. He is the most entitled person among the Muslims to manage your affairs. Therefore get up and swear allegiance to him. Some people had already taken the oath of allegiance to him in the shed of Bani Saida but the oath of allegiance taken by the public was taken at the pulpit. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-134Narrated Aisha: In the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ the sun eclipsed; so he led the people in prayer; and stood up and performed a long Qiyam; then bowed for a long while. He stood up again and performed a long Qiyam but this time the period of standing was shorter than the first. He bowed again for a long time but shorter than the first one; then he prostrated and prolonged the prostration. He did the same in the second raka as he did in the first and then finished the prayer; by then the sun eclipse had cleared. He delivered the Khutba sermon and after praising and glorifying Allah he said; The sun and the moon are two signs against the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse on the death or life of anyone. So when you see the eclipse; remember Allah and say Takbir; pray and give Sadaqa. The Prophet then said; O followers of Muhammad! By Allah! There is none who has more ghaira selfrespect than Allah as He has forbidden that His slaves; male or female commit adultery illegal sexual intercourse. O followers of Muhammad! By Allah! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1415Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: Some angels came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sleeping. Some of them said; He is sleeping. Others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then they said; There is an example for this companion of yours. One of them said; Then set forth an example for him. Some of them said; He is sleeping. The others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then they said; His example is that of a man who has built a house and then offered therein a banquet and sent an inviter messenger to invite the people. So whoever accepted the invitation of the inviter; entered the house and ate of the banquet; and whoever did not accept the invitation of the inviter; did not enter the house; nor did he eat of the banquet. Then the angels said; Interpret this example to him so that he may understand it. Some of them said; He is sleeping. The others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. And then they said; The houses stands for Paradise and the call maker is Muhammad; and whoever obeys Muhammad; obeys Allah; and whoever disobeys Muhammad; disobeys Allah. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-142Narrated Fatima bint AlMundhir: Asma bint AlBakr said; I came to Aisha the wife of the Prophet ﷺ during the solar eclipse. The people were standing and offering the prayer and she was also praying too. I asked her; What has happened to the people? She pointed out with her hand towards the sky and said; Subhan-Allah. I said; Is there a sign? She pointed out in the affirmative. Asma further said; I too then stood up for the prayer till I fainted and then poured water on my head. When Allah Messenger ﷺ had finished his prayer; he thanked and praised Allah and said; I have seen at this place of mine what I have never seen even Paradise and Hell. No doubt; it has been inspired to me that you will be put to trial in the graves like or nearly like the trial of Masih AlDajjal. I do not know which one of the two Asma said. The angels will come to everyone of you and will ask what do you know about this man i.e. Muhammad. The believer or a firm believer I do not know which word Asma said will reply; He is Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ who came to us with clear evidences and guidance; so we accepted his teachings; believed and followed him. The angels will then say to him; Sleep peacefully as we knew surely that you were a firm believer. The hypocrite or doubtful person I do not know which word Asma said will say; I do not know. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1780Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: A Jew whose face had been slapped by someone ; came to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Muhammad! A man from your Ansari companions slapped me. The Prophet ﷺ said; Call him. They called him and the Prophet ﷺ asked him; Why did you slap his face? He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! While I was passing by the Jews; I heard him saying; By Him Who chose Moses above all the human beings. I said protestingly ; Even above Muhammad? So I became furious and slapped him. The Prophet ﷺ said; Do not give me preference to other prophets; for the people will become unconscious on the Day of Resurrection and I will be the first to gain conscious; and behold; I will Find Moses holding one of the pillars of the Throne of Allah. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-185Narrated Aisha: Abu Bakr came riding his horse from his dwelling place in AlSunh. He got down from it; entered the Masjid and did not speak with anybody till he came to me and went direct to the Prophet; who was covered with a marked blanket. Abu Bakr uncovered his face. He knelt down and kissed him and then started weeping and said; My father and my mother be sacrificed for you; O Allah Prophet! Allah will not combine two deaths on you. You have died the death which was written for you. Narrated Abu Salama from Ibn Abbas : Abu Bakr came out and Umar ; was addressing the people; and Abu Bakr told him to sit down but Umar refused. Abu Bakr again told him to sit down but Umar again refused. Then Abu Bakr recited the Tashah-hud i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah Messenger ﷺ and the people attended to Abu Bakr and left Umar. Abu Bakr said; Amma badu; whoever amongst you worshipped Muhammad; then Muhammad is dead; but whoever worshipped Allah; Allah is alive and will never die. Allah said: Muhammad is no more than an Apostle and indeed many Apostles have passed away before him.. up to the grateful. 3.144 The narrator added; By Allah; it was as if the people never knew that Allah had revealed this verse before till Abu Bakr recited it and then whoever heard it; started reciting it.The Chapter on Recitation Of Surat Albaqara in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Visiting the deceased person after he has been put in his shroud in Sahih AlBukhari

Please give me your shirt to shroud him in it; offer his funeral prayer and ask for Allah forgiveness for him. So Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ gave his shirt to him and said; Inform me When the funeral is ready so that I may offer the funeral prayer. So; he informed him and when the Prophet intended to offer the funeral prayer; Umar took hold of his hand and said; Has Allah not forbidden you to offer the funeral prayer for the hypocrites? Then they will go to Adam and say; You are the one whom Allah created with His Own Hands; and breathed in you of His soul; and ordered the angels to prostrate to you; so please intercede for us with our Lord. Adam will reply; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin; and will say; Go to Noah; the first Apostle sent by Allah They will go to him and he will say; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin and say; Go to Abraham whom Allah took as a Khalil. They will go to him and request similarly. He will reply; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin and say; Go to Moses to whom Allah spoke directly. They will go to Moses and he will say; I am not fit for this undertaking; and will remember his sin and say; Go to Jesus. They will go to him; and he will say; I am not fit for this undertaking; go to Muhammad as Allah has forgiven his past and future sins. They will come to me and I will ask my Lord permission; and when I see Him; I will fall down in prostration to Him; and He will leave me in that state as long as He Allah will; and then I will be addressed. Raise up your head O Muhammad ! Ask; and your request will be granted; and say; and your saying will be listened to; intercede; and your intercession will be accepted. Then I will raise my head; and I will glorify and praise my Lord with a saying i.e. invocation He will teach me; and then I will intercede; Allah will fix a limit for me i.e.; certain type of people for whom I may intercede ; and I will take them out of the Hell Fire and let them enter Paradise. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3313Narrated Ibn Abbas: Regarding His Allahs Statement:- Move not your tongue concerning the Quran to make haste therewith. 75.16 And whenever Gabriel descended to Allah Messenger ﷺ with the Divine Inspiration; Allah Messenger ﷺ used to move his tongue and lips; and that used to be hard for him; and one could easily recognize that he was being inspired Divinely. So Allah revealed the Verse which occurs in the Surah starting with I do swear by the Day of Resurrection. 75.1 i.e. Move not your tongue concerning the Quran to make haste then with. Allah Messenger ﷺ is not dead! Umar later on said; By Allah! Nothing occurred to my mind except that. He said; Verily! Allah will resurrect him and he will cut the hands and legs of some men. Then Abu Bakr came and uncovered the face of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; kissed him and said; Let my mother and father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; you are good in life and in death. By Allah in Whose Hands my life is; Allah will never make you taste death twice. Then he went out and said; O oath-taker! Dont be hasty. When Abu Bakr spoke; Umar sat down. Abu Bakr praised and glorified Allah and said; No doubt! Whoever worshipped Muhammad; then Muhammad is dead; but whoever worshipped Allah; then Allah is Alive and shall never die. Then he recited Allah Statement.:- O Muhammad Verily you will die; and they also will die. 39.30 He also recited:- Muhammad is no more than an Apostle; and indeed many Apostles have passed away; before him; If he dies Or is killed; will you then Turn back on your heels? And he who turns back On his heels; not the least Harm will he do to Allah And Allah will give reward to those Who are grateful. 3.144 The people wept loudly; and the Ansar were assembled with Sad Bin Ubada in the shed of Bani Saida. They said to the emigrants. There should be one Amir from us and one from you. Then Abu Bakr; Umar Bin AlKhattab and Abu baida Bin AlJarrah went to them. Umar wanted to speak but Abu Bakr stopped him. Umar later on used to say; By Allah; I intended only to say something that appealed to me and I was afraid that Abu Bakr would not speak so well. Then Abu Bakr spoke and his speech was very eloquent. He said in his statement; We are the rulers and you Ansars are the ministers i.e. advisers ; Hubab Bin AlMundhir said; No; by Allah we wont accept this. But there must be a ruler from us and a ruler from you. Abu Bakr said; No; we will be the rulers and you will be the ministers; for they i.e. Quarish are the best family amongst the Arabs and of best origin. So you should elect either Umar or Abu Ubaida Bin AlJarrah as your ruler. Umar said to Abu Bakr ; No but we elect you; for you are our chief and the best amongst us and the most beloved of all of us to Allah Messenger ﷺ. So I went to Uthman and when he went out for prayer I said to him ; I have something to say to you and it is a piece of advice for you Uthman said; O man; from you. No doubt; the people are talking much about AlWalid. Uthman said; Did you receive your knowledge directly from Allah Messenger ﷺ ? SahihMuslim-017-001-17614Imran Bin Hosain reported that the tribe of Thaqif was the ally of Banu Uqail. Thaqif took two persons from amongst the Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ as prisoners. The Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ took one person at Banu Uqail as prisoner; and captured AlAdbi the camel of the Holy Prophet along with him. Allah Messenger ﷺ came to him and he was tied with ropes. He said: Muhammad. He came near him and said: What is the matter with you? Thereupon he the prisoner said: Why have you taken me as prisoner and why have you caught hold of one proceeding the pilgrims the camel as she carried the Prophet on her back and walked ahead of the multitude ? He the Holy Prophet said: Yours is a great fault. I my men have caught hold of you for the crime of your allies; Banu Thaqif. He the Holy Prophet then turned away. He again called him and said: Muhammad; Muhammad; and since Allah Messenger ﷺ was very compassionate; and tenderhearted; he returned to him; and said: What is the matter with you? He said: I am a Muslim; whereupon he the Holy Prophet said: Had you said this when you had been the master of yourself; you would have gained every success. He then turned away. He the prisoner called him again saying: Muhammad; Muhammad. He came to him and said: What is the matter with you? He said: I am hungry; feed me; and I am thirsty; so provide me with drink. He the Holy Prophet said: That is to satisfy your want. He was then ransomed for two persons who had been taken prisoner by Thaqif. He the narrator said: A woman of the Ansar had been taken prisoner and also AlAdbi was caught. The woman had been tied with ropes. The people were giving rest to their animals before their houses. She escaped one night from the bondage and came to the camels. As she drew near the camels; they fretted and fumed and so she left them until she came to Al; Adbi. It did not fret and fume; it was docile She rode upon its back and drove it away and she went off. When they the enemies of Islam were warned of this; they went in search of it; but it the camel exhausted them. She the woman took vow for Allah; that in case He would save her through it; she would offer that as a sacrifice. As she reached Medina; the people saw her and they said: Here is AlAdbi; the camel of Allah Messenger ﷺ. She the woman said that she had taken a vow that if Allah would save her on its back; she would sacrifice it. They the Prophet Companions came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and made a mention of that to him; whereupon he said: Hallowed be Allah; how ill she rewarded it that she took vow to Allah that if He saves her on its back; she would sacrifice it! There is no fulfillment of the vow in an act of disobedience; nor in an act over which a person has no control. I along with Humaid Bin Abdulrahman Himyari set out for pilgrimage or for Umrah and said: Should it so happen that we come into contact with one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we shall ask him about what is talked about taqdir Divine Decree. Accidentally we came across Abdullah Ibn Umar Ibn AlKhattab; while he was entering the Masjid. My companion and I surrounded him. One of us stood on his right and the other stood on his left. I expected that my companion would authorize me to speak. I therefore said: Abu Abdulrahman There have appeared some people in our land who recite the Quran and pursue knowledge. And then after talking about their affairs; added: They such people claim that there is no such thing as Divine Decree and events are not predestined. He Abdullah Ibn Umar said: When you happen to meet such people tell them that I have nothing to do with them and they have nothing to do with me. And verily they are in no way responsible for my belief. Abdullah Ibn Umar swore by Him the Lord and said : If any one of them who does not believe in the Divine Decree had with him gold equal to the bulk of the mountain Uhud and spent it in the way of Allah ; Allah would not accept it unless he affirmed his faith in Divine Decree. He further said: My father; Umar Ibn AlKhattab; told me: One day we were sitting in the company of Allah Apostle ﷺ when there appeared before us a man dressed in pure white clothes; his hair extraordinarily black. There were no signs of travel on him. None amongst us recognized him. At last he sat with the Apostle ﷺ He knelt before him placed his palms on his thighs and said: Muhammad; inform me about AlIslam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: AlIslam implies that you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and you establish prayer; pay Zakat; observe the fast of Ramadan; and perform pilgrimage to the House if you are solvent enough to bear the expense of the journey. I entered the Masjid and prayed two rakahs in it; and then came out and Gabriel brought me a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk. I chose the milk; and Gabriel said: You have chosen the natural thing. Then he took me to heaven. Gabriel then asked the gate of heaven to be opened and he was asked who he was. He replied: Gabriel. He was again asked: Who is with you? He Gabriel said: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? Gabriel replied: He has indeed been sent for. And the door of the heaven was opened for us and lo! we saw Adam. He welcomed me and prayed for my good. Then we ascended to the second heaven. Gabriel ﷺ asked the door of heaven to be opened ; and he was asked who he was. He answered: Gabriel; and was again asked: Who is with you? He replied: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? It was said: Who is he? He said: Gabriel It was said. Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I found Ibrahim Abraham ﷺ reclining against the Bait AlMamur and there enter into it seventy thousand angels every day; never to visit this place again. Then I was taken to Sidrat AlMuntaha whose leaves were like elephant ears and its fruit like big earthenware vessels. And when it was covered by the Command of Allah; it underwent such a change that none amongst the creation has the power to praise its beauty. Then Allah revealed to me a revelation and He made obligatory for me fifty prayers every day and night. Then I went down to Moses ﷺ and he said: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He said: Return to thy Lord and beg for reduction in the number of prayers ; for your community shallnot be able to bear this burden. as I have put to test the children of Israil and tried them and found them too weak to bear such a heavy burden. He the Holy Prophet said: I went back to my Lord and said: My Lord; make things lighter for my Ummah. The Lord reduced five prayers for me. I went down to Moses and said. The Lord reduced five prayers for me; He said: Verily thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden; return to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. I then kept going back and forth between my Lord Blessed and Exalted and Moses; till He said: There are five prayers every day and night. O Muhammad; each being credited as ten; so that makes fifty prayers. He who intends to do a good deed and does not do it will have a good deed recorded for him; and if he does it; it will be recorded for him as ten; whereas he who intends to do an evil deed and does not do; it will not be recorded for him; and if he does it; only one evil deed will be recorded. I then came down and when I came to Moses and informed him; he said: Go back to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. SahihMuslim-017-001-18763Yazid AlFaqir said: This view of the Khawarij i.e. those who commit major sins and would be eternally doomed to Hell had obsessed me; and we set out in a large group intending to perform the Hajj and then going to the people for the propagation of the views of the Khawarij. He the narrator said: We happened to past by Medina and found there Jabir Bin Abdullah sitting near a column narrating to the people the ahadith of the Prophet ﷺ. When he mentioned the inhabitants of Hell; I said: O companion of the Messenger of Allah what is this that you narrate; whereas Allah says: Verily whomsoever Thou shall commit to the Fire; Thou indeed humiliateth him AlQuran; iii. 192 ; and All those who endeavored to get out of that would be thrown back into it AlQuran; xxxi i. 20 ? So what is it that you say? He said: Have you read the Quran? I said: Yes. He said: Have you heard about the exalted position of Muhammad ﷺ ; i.e. to which Allah would raise; him? I said: Yes. He said: Verily the position of Muhammad ﷺ is that of great glory and that is by which Allah would bring out whomsoever He would wish to bring out. He then described the Path the Bridge and the passing of the people over it; and said: I am afraid I may not have remembered other things but this much is still in my memory that people would come out of the Hell after having gone into it; and he said: They would come out of it as if they were the wood of the ebony tree. He the narrator said: They would enter a river; one or the rivers of Paradise; and would bathe in it; and then come out as if they were white like paper. We then turned back and said: Woe be upon you! How can this old man tell a lie against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? We turned back from the views of the Khawarij ; and by God every one of us abandoned this band of Khawarij except one man. A similar statement has been made by Abu Nuaim. The Chapter on The Punishment Of Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 84 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18765Anas b Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah would gather people on the Day of Resurrection and they would be concerned about it; and Ibn Ubaid said. They would get a Divine inspiration about it; and would say: If we could seek intercession with our Lord; we may be relieved from this predicament of ours. He the Holy Prophet said: They would come to Adam andsay; Thou art Adam; the father of mankind. Allah created thee with His own hand and breathed unto thee of His Spirit and commanded the angels and they prostrated before thee. So intercede for us with thy Lords; that He may relieve us from this position of ours. He would say: I am not in a position to do this; and would recall his error; and would fight shy of his Lord on account of that; go to Noah the first messenger after me sent by Allah. He the Holy Prophet said: So they would come to Noah ﷺ. He would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; and recall his fault which he had committed; and would fight shy of his Lord on account of that; and would say : You better go to Ibrahim ﷺ whom Allah took for a friend. They would come to Ibrahim ﷺ and he would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; and would recall his fault that he had committed and would; therefore; fight shy of his Lord on that account and would say : You better go to Moses ﷺ with whom Allah conversed and con- ferred Torah upon him. He the Holy Prophet said: So they would come to Moses ﷺ He would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; and would recall his fault that he had committed and would fight shy of his Lord on account of that and would say : You better go to Jesus; the Spirit of Allah and His word He would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; you better go to Muhammad ﷺ ; a servant whose former and later sins have been forgiven. He the narrator said: The Messenger or Allah ﷺ observed: So they would come to me and I would ask the permission of my Lord and it would be granted to me; and when I would see Him; I would fall down in prostration; and He Allah would leave me thus as long as He would wish; and then it would be said: O Muhammad; raise your head; say and you would be heard; ask and it would be granted; intercede and intercession would be accepted. Then I would raise my head and extrol my Lord with the praise which my Lord would teach me. I shall then inter- cede; but a limit would be set for me I would bring them out from the Fire and make them enter Paradise according to the limit. I shall return then ard fall down in pros- tration and Allah would leave me in that position as long as He would wish to leave me it would be said: Rise; O Muhammad; say and you would be heard; ask and it would be conferred; intercede and intercession would be granted. I would raise my head and extrol my Lord with praise that He would teach me. I would theft intercede and a limit would be set for me. I would bring them out of the Fire of Hell and make them enter Paradise. He the narrator said: I do not remember whether he the Holy Prophet said at tLe third time or at the fourth time: O my Lord; none has been left in the Fire; but thise restrained by the Holy Quran; i e. those who were eternally doomed. Ibn Ubaid said in a narration: Qatada observed: whose everlasting stay was imperative. The Chapter on Allah And Prophets Praise And Prostration in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 84 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18769Mabad Bin Hilal AlAnazi reported: We went to Anas Bin Malik through Thabit and reached there his house while he was offering the forenoon prayer. Thabit sought permission for us and we entered; and he seated Thabit with him on his bedstead. He Thabit said to him Anas Bin Malik : O Abu Hamza kunya of Anas Bin Malik ; your brothers from among the inhabitants of Basra ask you to narrate to them the hadith of intercession. He said: Muhammad ﷺ narrated to us: When it would be the Day of Resurrection; some of the people would rush to one another in bewilderment. They would come to Adam and say: Intercede with your Lord for your progeny. He would say: I am not fit to do this; but go to Ibrabim ﷺ for he is the Friend of Allah. They would come to Ibrahim; but he would say: I am not fit to do this; but go to Moses; for he is Allah Interlocutor. They would come to Moses; but he would say: I am not fit to do this; but you should go to Jesus; for he is the Spirit of Allah and His word. They would come to Jesus; and he would say; I am not fit to do this; you better go to Muhammad ﷺ. They would come to me; and I would say: I am in a position to do that; I would go and ask the permission of my Lord and it would be granted to me. I would then stand before Him and would extol Him with praises which I am not able to do now; but with which Allah would inspire me; then I would fall in prostration and it would be said to me: O Muhammad; raise thy head; and say and it would be listened to; ask and it would be granted; intercede and it would be accepted. I shall say: My Lord; my people; my people It would be said: Go; and bring forth from it Hell him who has in his heart faith equal to the weight of a wheat grain or a barley seed. I would go and do that; then I would return to my Lord and extol Him with those praises taught to me by Allah ; then I would fall in prostration. It would be said to me: O Muhammad; raise your head; and say and it would be heard; ask and it would be granted; intercede and intercession would be accepted. So I would say: My people. my people. It would be said to me: Go and take out from it Hell him who has in his heart faith equal to the weight of a mustard seed. I would go and do that. I would again return to my Lord and extol Him with those praises. I would then fall in prostration. It would be said to me: O Muhammad; raisevour head: say; and you would be listened to; ask and it would be granted; intercede and intercession would be accepted. I would say: My Lord; my people; my people. It would be said to me: Go; and bring out of the Fire him who has in his heart as much faith as the smallest; smallest; smallest grain of mustard seed. I would go and do that. This is the hadith which Anas narrated to us. We went out of his house and when we reached the upper part of Jabban graveyard we said: Would that we meetHassan and salute him and he was hiding in the house of Abu Khalifa. He Mabad Bin Hilal; the narrator said: We went to him and greeted him and we said: O Abu Said; we come from your brother Abu Hamza kunya of Anas ; and we have never heard a hadith like this relating to intercession; which he has narrated to us. He said: Narrate it; we narrated the hadith. He said: Narrate it still further. We said: He did not narrate it before us more than this. He said: He Anas had narrated it to us twenty years back; when he was strong and healthy. He has in fact missed something. I cannot make out whether the old man has forgotten or he has intentionally avoided to narrate it to you lest you should rely absolutely upon it and abandon doing good deeds. We said to him: Relate that to us; and he laughed and said: There is haste in the nature of man. I did not make mention of it to you but for the fact that I wanted to narrate that to you and added that the Prophet said : I would then return to my Lord for the fourth time and extol Him with these praises. I would then fall in prostration. It would be said to me: O Muhammad; raise your head: say and it will be listened to; ask and it will be granted; intercede and intercession would be accepted. I would say: O my Lord; permit me regarding him who professed: There is no god but Allah. He the Lord would say: That is not for thee or that is not what lies with thee; but by My Honour; Glory; Greatness and Might; I would certainly take him out who professed it: There is no god but Allah. He the narrator; Mabad said: I hear testimony to the fact that the hadith transmitted to us-byHassan was heard by him from Anas Bin Malik and I can see that he reported it twenty years back; when he was hale and hearty. The Chapter on Allah And Prophets Jesus And Alkhalil in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 84 in Sahih Muslim

Then he raised his hands and said: O Lord; my Ummah; my Ummah; and wept; so Allah the High and the Exalted said: O Gabriel; go to Muhammad though your Lord knows it fully well and ask him: What makes thee weep? So Gabriel ﷺ came to him and asked him; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed him what he had said though Allah knew it fully well. Supplicate Allah that He should rescue me from it in which I am pitchforked and I give you a solemn pledge that I shall keep this as a secret from all those who are coming after me. Take hold of an arrow out of it quiver for you will find my camels and my slaves at such and such place and you can get whatever you need on showing this arrow. He the Holy Prophet said: I dont need your camels. And we the Prophet and Abu Bakr came to Medina during the night and the people began to contend as to where Allah Messenger ﷺ should reside and he encamped in the tribe of Najjar who were related to Abd AlMuttalib from the side of mother. By Allah; I shall not move from this place so long as I do not inform you about that which you ask. Anas Bin Malik said: People began to shed tears profusely when they heard this from Allah Messenger ﷺ and Allah Messenger ﷺ said it repeatedly: You ask me. Thereupon Abdullah Bin Hudhafa stood up and said: Allah Messenger; who is my father? He said: Your father is Hudhafa; and Allah Messenger ﷺ said repeatedly: Ask me; and it was at this juncture that Umar knelt down and said : We are well pleased with Allah as our Lord; with Islam as our code of life and with Muhammad as the Messenger of Allah. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept quiet so long as Umar spoke. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said: The Doom is near; by Him; in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad; there was presented to me the Paradise and Hell in the nook of this enclosure; and I did not see good and evil like that of the present day. Ibn Shihab reported: Ubaidullah Bin Abdullah Bin Utba told me that the mother of Abdullah Bin Hudhafa told Abdullah Bin Hudhafa: I have never heard of a son more disobedient than you. Do you feel yourself immune from the fact that your mother committed a sin which the women in the pre-Islamic period committed and then you disgrace her in the eyes of the people? SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10025Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I am the chief of the children of Adam on the Day Of Judgment and I am not boasting; and in my hand is the banner of praise and I am not boasting; and there has been no Prophet since Adam or other than him; except that he is under my banner. And I am the first for whom the earth will split open; and I am not boasting. He said: The people will be frightened by three frights. So they will come to Adam saying: You are our father Adam; so intercede for us with your Lord. So he says: I committed a sin for which I was expelled to the earth; so go to Nuh. So they will come to Nuh and he will say: I supplicated against the people of the earth; so they were destroyed. So go to Ibrahim. So they will go to Ibrahim; and he says: I lied three times. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He did not lie except defending Allah religion. So go to Mousa. So they will come to Mousa; and he will say: I took a life. So go to Eisa. So they go to Eisa and he says: I was worshiped besides Allah. So go to Muhammad ﷺ. He said: So they will come to me; and I will go to them. One of the narrators Ibn Judan said: Anas said: It is as if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and he is saying: So I will take hold of a ring of a gate of Paradise to rattle it; and it will be said: Who is there? It will be said: Muhammad. They will open it for me; and welcome me saying; Welcome. I will fall prostrate and Allah will inspire me with statements of gratitude and praise and it will be said to me: Raise your head; ask and you shall be given; intercede; and your intercession shall be accepted; speak; and your saying shall be heard. And that is AlMaqam AlMahmud about which Allah said: It may be that your Lord will raise you to Maqaman-Mahmud 17:79. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10046Narrated Imran Bin Hosain: We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when some of his Companions fell behind. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his voice reciting these two Ayat: O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily the earthquake of the hour is a terrible thing... up to His saying: but Allah torment is severe 21:1 & 2. When his Companions heard that; they hastened to catch up with him; since they knew that he had something to say. He ﷺ said: Do you know what Day this is? That is the Day when Adam will be called. His Lord will call him and say: O Adam; send forth those who are to be sent to the Fire. He will say: O Lord! How many are to be sent to the Fire? He will say: From every one-thousand there are nine-hundred and ninety-nine for the Fire and one for Paradise. So the people despaired as if they would not smile again. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the state of his Companions; he said: Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad; you will be counted with two creations who are immense in numbers; Yajuj and Majuj; and those who have died among the progeny of Adam and the progeny of Iblis. He said: So some of the people grief went away; and he ﷺ said: Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10190Zaid Bin Arqam said: We were participating in a battle along with the Messenger of Allah; and there were some people from the Bedouins with us. So we all rushed toward some water and the Bedouins raced us to it. One of the Bedouins beat his companions to it and he tried to obstruct the pond; he placed rocks around it and he put a leather sheet over it until his companions came. He said: A man among the Ansar reached the Bedouin and he dropped the reigns of his camel to drink; but the Bedouin would not allow him. So he started removing the barriers around the water; but the Bedouin raised a stick beating the Ansari man on the head; and smashed it. He went to Abdullah Bin Ubay; the head of the hypocrite; to inform him he was in fact one of his companions. So Abdullah Bin Ubay became enraged; the he said: Do not spend anything on whoever is with Muhammad until they depart. Meaning the Bedouins. They were preparing food for the Messenger of Allah. So Abdullah said: When they depart from Muhammad; then bring Muhammad some food; and let him and whoever is with him eat it. Then he said to his companions: If we return to AlMadinah; indeed the more honorable will expel therefrom the meaner. Zaid said: And I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah; and I had heard Abdullah Bin Ubay; so I informed my uncle who went to tell the Messenger of Allah. He sent a message to him Abdullah but he took an oath and denied it. He said: So the Messenger of Allah accepted what he said and did not believe me. So my uncle came to me and said: You only wanted the Messenger of Allah to hate you; and the Muslims to say that you lied. He said: I suffered such worry as has not been suffered by anyone else. He said: Later while I was on the move with the Messenger of Allah on a journey; my mind was relieved of worry; since the Messenger of Allah came to me and rubbed my ear and smiled in my face. I would never be happier than with that as long as the world remained. Then Abu Bakr caught up to me; and said: What did the Messenger of Allah say to you? I said: He did not say anything to me; he only rubbed my ear and smiled in my face. He said: Receive the good news! Then Umar caught up with me and I said the same to him as I had said to Abu Bakr. That distressed him; so the following was revealed: Verily We have granted you AlKauthar O Muhammad meaning a river in Paradise; and the following was revealed: Verily We have sent it down on the Night of AlQadr. And what will make you know what the Night of AlQadr is? The Night of AlQadr is better than a thousand months; in which Banu Umayah rules after you O Muhammad. SunanAlNasai-017-001-12420It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: There were kings after Isa Bin Mariam who altered the Tawrah and the Injil; but there were among them believers who read the Tawrah. It was said to their kings: We have never heard of any slander worse than that of those believers who slander us and recite: And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed; such are the disbelievers. In these Verses; they are criticizing us for our deeds when they recite them. So he called them together and gave them the choice between being put to death; or giving up reading the Tawrah and Injil; except for what had been altered. They said: Why do you want us to change? Leave us alone. Some of them said: Build us a tower and let us go up there; and give us something to lift up our food and drink so we do not have to mix with you. Others said: Let us go and wander throughout the land; and we will drink as the wild animals drink; and if you capture us in your land; you may kill us. Others said: Build houses for us in the wilderness; and we will dig wells and grow vegetables; and we will not mix with you or pass by you; for there is no one of the tribes among whom we do not have close relatives. So they did that; and Allah revealed the words: But the monasticism which they invented for themselves; We did not prescribe for them; but they sought it only to please Allah therewith; but that they did not observe it with the right observance. Then others said: We will worship as so-and-so worshipped; and we will wander as so-and-so wandered; and we will adopt houses in the wilderness as so-and-so did. But they were still following their Shirk with no knowledge of the faith of those whom they claimed to be following. When Allah sent the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL; and they were only a few of them left; a man came down from his cell; and a wanderer came from his travels; and a monk came from his monastery; and they believed in him. And Allah said: O you who believe! Fear Allah; and believe in His Messenger Muhammad ; He will give you a double portion of His mercy - meaning; two rewards; because of their having believed in Isa and in the Tawrah and Injil; and for having believing in Muhammad SAWSYMOBOL; and He will give you a light by which you shall walk straight ; - meaning; the Quran; and their following the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL; and He said: So that the people of the Scripture Jews and Christians may know that they have no power whatsoever over the Grace of Allah. The Chapter on Allah Characteristics Ask in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Meaning of the Verse And Whosoever Does Not Judge By What Allah Has Revealed Such Are The Disbelievers in Sunan AlNasai

Then Abu Bakr took control of it; then I took control of it after Abu Bakr; and I did with it what he sued to do. Then these two came to me and asked me to give it to them so that they could dispose of it as the Messenger of Allah disposed of it; and as Abu Bakr disposed of it; and as I disposed of it. So I gave it to them and I took promises from them that they would take proper care of it. Then they came to me and this one said. Give me my share from my brothers son: and this one said: Give me my share from my wife. If they want me to give it to them on the condition that they would dispose of it in the same manner as the Messenger of Allah did; and as Abu Bakr did; and as I did; I would give it to them; but if they refuse; then they do not have to worry about it. AlMakhdaji said: So I went to Ubadah Ibn AlSamit and informed him. Ubadah said: Abu Muhammad told a lie. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There are five prayers which Allah has prescribed on His servants. If anyone offers them; not losing any of them; and not treating them lightly; Allah guarantees that He will admit him to Paradise. If anyone does not offer them; Allah does not take any responsibility for such a person. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25912Yahya Bin Yamur said : The first to speak on Divine decree in AlBasrah was Mabad AlJuhani. I and Humaid Bin Abdulrahman AlHimyari proceeded to perform Hajj or Umrah. We said : would that we meet any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that we could ask him about what they say with regard to divine decree. So Allah helped us to meet Abdullah Bin Umar who was entering the Masjid. So I and my companion surrounded him; and I thought that my companion would entrust me the task of speaking to him. Then I said : Abu Abdulrahman there appeared on our side some people who recite the Quran and are engaged in the hair-splitting of knowledge. They conceive that there is no Divine decree and everything happens freely without predestination. He said : When you meet those people; tell them that I am free from them; and they are free from me. By Him by Whom swears Abdullah Bin Umar; if one of them has gold equivalent to Uhud and he spends it; Allah will not accept it from him until he believes in Divine decree. He then said : Umar Bin AlKhattab transmitted to me a tradition; saying : One day when we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a man with very white clothing and very black hair came up to us. No mark of travel was visible on him; and we did not recognize him. Sitting down beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; leaning his knees against his and placing his hands on his thighs; he said : tell me; Muhammad; about Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said : Islam means that you should testify that there is no god but Allah; and Muhammad is Allahs Apostle; that you should observe prayer; pay Zakat; fast during Ramadan; and perform Hajj to the house i.e.; Kabah ; If you have the means to go. He said : You have spoken the truth. We were surprised at his questioning him and then declaring that he spoke the truth. He said : Now tell me about faith. He replied : It means that you should believe in Allah; his angels; his Books; his Apostles and the last day; and that you should believe in the decreeing both of good and evil. He said : You have spoken the truth. He said : now tell me about doing good ihsan. He replied: It means that you should worship Allah as though you are seeing him; if you are not seeing him; he is seeing you. He said: Now tell me about the hour. He replied : The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the one who is asking. He said : Then tell me about its signs. He replied : That a maidservant should beget her mistress; and that you should see barefooted; naked; poor men and shepherds exalting themselves in buildings. Umar said : He then went away; and I waited for three days; then he said : Do you know who the questioner was; Umar? I replied : Allah and his Apostle know best. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27484Narrated Muadh Ibn Jabal: Prayer passed through three stages and fasting also passed through three stages. The narrator Nasr reported the rest of the tradition completely. The narrator; Ibn AlMuthanna; narrated the story of saying prayer facing in the direction of Jerusalem. He said: The third stage is that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Medina and prayed; i.e. facing Jerusalem; for thirteen months. Then Allah; the Exalted; revealed the verse: We have seen thee turning thy face to Heaven for guidance; O Muhammad. And now verily We shall make thee turn in prayer toward a qiblah which is dear to thee. So turn thy face toward the Inviolable Place of Worship; and ye O Muslims ; wherever ye may be; turn your face when ye pray toward it ii.144. And Allah; the Reverend and the Majestic; turned them towards the Kabah. He the narrator completed his tradition. The narrator; Nasr; mentioned the name of the person who had the dream; saying: And Abdullah Ibn Zayd; a man from the Ansar; came. The same version reads: And he turned his face towards the qiblah and said: Allah is most great; Allah is most great; I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; come to prayer he pronounced it twice ; come to salvation he pronounced it twice ; Allah is Most Great; Allah is most great. He then paused for a while; and then got up and pronounced in a similar way; except that after the phrase Come to salvation he added. The time for prayer has come; the time for prayer has come. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Teach it to Bilal; then pronounce the adhan call to prayer with the same words. As regards fasting; he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast for three days every month; and would fast on the tenth of Muharram. Then Allah; the Exalted; revealed the verse:.......Fasting was prescribed for those before you; that ye may ward off evil......and for those who can afford it there is a ransom: the feeding of a man in need ii.183-84. If someone wished to keep the fast; he would keep the fast; if someone wished to abandon the fast; he would feed an indigent every day; it would do for him. But this was changed. Allah; the Exalted; revealed: The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran.......... let him fast the same number of other days ii.185. Hence the fast was prescribed for the one who was present in the month of Ramadan and the traveller was required to atone for them ; feeding the indigent was prescribed for the old man and woman who were unable to fast. The narrator; Nasr; further reported : The companion Sirmah; came after finishing his day work......and he narrated the rest of the tradition. The Chapter on Adhan And Iqama And Fasting in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How The Adhan Is Performed in Sunan Abu Dawoud

When he says Allah is most great; and bows; say Allah is most great and bow; for the imam will bow before you; and will raise his head before you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is for that. When he says Allah is most great and prostrates; say: Allah is most great and prostrate; for the imam prostrates before you and raises his head before you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is for that. When he sits; each one of you should say The adorations of the tongue; all good things; and acts of worship are due to Allah. Peace be upon you; O Prophet; and Allah mercy and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allah upright servants.
