SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1071Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: We said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection? He said; Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun and the moon when the sky is clear? We said; No. He said; So you will have no difficulty in seeing your Lord on that Day as you have no difficulty in seeing the sun and the moon in a clear sky. The Prophet then said; Somebody will then announce; Let every nation follow what they used to worship. So the companions of the cross will go with their cross; and the idolators will go with their idols; and the companions of every god false deities will go with their god; till there remain those who used to worship Allah; both the obedient ones and the mischievous ones; and some of the people of the Scripture. Then Hell will be presented to them as if it were a mirage. Then it will be said to the Jews; What did you use to worship? They will reply; We used to worship Ezra; the son of Allah. It will be said to them; You are liars; for Allah has neither a wife nor a son. What do you want now ? They will reply; We want You to provide us with water. Then it will be said to them Drink; and they will fall down in Hell instead. Then it will be said to the Christians; What did you use to worship? They will reply; We used to worship Messiah; the son of Allah. It will be said; You are liars; for Allah has neither a wife nor a son. What: do you want now ? They will say; We want You to provide us with water. It will be said to them; Drink; and they will fall down in Hell instead. When there remain only those who used to worship Allah Alone ; both the obedient ones and the mischievous ones; it will be said to them; What keeps you here when all the people have gone? They will say; We parted with them in the world when we were in greater need of them than we are today; we heard the call of one proclaiming; Let every nation follow what they used to worship; and now we are waiting for our Lord. Then the Almighty will come to them in a shape other than the one which they saw the first time; and He will say; I am your Lord; and they will say; You are not our Lord. And none will speak: to Him then but the Prophets; and then it will be said to them; Do you know any sign by which you can recognize Him? They will say. The Shin; and so Allah will then uncover His Shin whereupon every believer will prostrate before Him and there will remain those who used to prostrate before Him just for showing off and for gaining good reputation. These people will try to prostrate but their backs will be rigid like one piece of a wood and they will not be able to prostrate. Then the bridge will be laid across Hell. We; the companions of the Prophet ﷺ said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! What is the bridge? He said; It is a slippery bridge on which there are clamps and Hooks like a thorny seed that is wide at one side and narrow at the other and has thorns with bent ends. Such a thorny seed is found in Najd and is called AlSadan. Some of the believers will cross the bridge as quickly as the wink of an eye; some others as quick as lightning; a strong wind; fast horses or camels. So some will be safe without any harm; some will be safe after receiving some scratches; and some will fall down into Hell Fire. The last person will cross by being dragged over the bridge. The Prophet ﷺ said; You Muslims cannot be more pressing in claiming from me a right that has been clearly proved to be yours than the believers in interceding with Almighty for their Muslim brothers on that Day; when they see themselves safe. They will say; O Allah! Save our brothers for they used to pray with us; fast with us and also do good deeds with us. Allah will say; Go and take out of Hell anyone in whose heart you find faith equal to the weight of one gold Dinar. Allah will forbid the Fire to burn the faces of those sinners. They will go to them and find some of them in Hell Fire up to their feet; and some up to the middle of their legs. So they will take out those whom they will recognize and then they will return; and Allah will say to them ; Go and take out of Hell anyone in whose heart you find faith equal to the weight of one half Dinar. They will take out whomever they will recognize and return; and then Allah will say; Go and take out of Hell anyone in whose heart you find faith equal to the weight of an atom or a smallest ant ; and so they will take out all those whom they will recognize. Abu Saeed said: If you do not believe me then read the Holy Verse:- Surely! Allah wrongs not even of the weight of an atom or a smallest ant but if there is any good done He doubles it. 4.40 The Prophet added; Then the prophets and Angels and the believers will intercede; and last of all the Almighty Allah will say; Now remains My Intercession. He will then hold a handful of the Fire from which He will take out some people whose bodies have been burnt; and they will be thrown into a river at the entrance of Paradise; called the water of life. They will grow on its banks; as a seed carried by the torrent grows. You have noticed how it grows beside a rock or beside a tree; and how the side facing the sun is usually green while the side facing the shade is white. Those people will come out of the River of Life like pearls; and they will have golden necklaces; and then they will enter Paradise whereupon the people of Paradise will say; These are the people emancipated by the Beneficent. He has admitted them into Paradise without them having done any good deeds and without sending forth any good for themselves. Then it will be said to them; For you is what you have seen and its equivalent as well. The Chapter on Worship To Save Oneself From Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah Looking at their Lord in Sahih AlBukhari

Aisha said; O my life which is going to be lost! By Allah; I think that you wish for my death; and if that should happen then you would be busy enjoying the company of one of your wives in the last part of that day. The Prophet said; But I should say; O my head! I feel like calling Abu Bakr and his son and appoint the former as my successors lest people should say something or wish for something. A man came to him and said; So-and-so has said; If Chief of the Believers died; we will give the oath of allegiance to such-and-such person; Umar said; I will get up tonight and warn those who want to usurp the people rights. I said; Do not do so; for the season of Hajj gathers the riffraff mob who will form the majority of your audience; and I am afraid that they will not understand the meaning of your saying properly and may spread an incorrect statement everywhere. You should wait till we reach Medina; the place of migration and the place of the Sunna the Prophet Traditions. There you will meet the companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ from the Muhajirin and the Ansar who will understand your statement and place it in its proper position Umar said; By Allah; I shall do so the first time I stand to address the people in Medina. So bring that letter to me. So we proceeded riding on our horses till we overtook her at the same place of which Allah Messenger ﷺ had told us. She was traveling on her camel. In that letter Hatib had written to the Meccans about the proposed attached of Allah Messenger ﷺ against them. We asked her; Where is the letter which is with you? She replied; I havent got any letter. So we made her camel kneel down and searched her luggage; but we did not find anything. My two companions said; We do not think that she has got a letter. I said; We know that Allah Messenger ﷺ has not told a lie. Then Ali took an oath saying; By Him by Whom one should swear! You shall either bring out the letter or we shall strip off your clothes. She then stretched out her hand for her girdle round her waist and brought out the paper letter. They took the letter to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Umar said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Hatib has betrayed Allah; His Apostle and the believers; let me chop off his neck! Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Hatib! What obliged you to do what you have done? Hatib replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Why for what reason should I not believe in Allah and His Apostle? But I intended to do the Mecca people a favor by virtue of which my family and property may be protected as there is none of your companions but has some of his people relatives whom Allah urges to protect his family and property. The Prophet ﷺ said; He has said the truth; therefore; do not say anything to him except good. Umar again said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! SahihMuslim-017-001-17759It has been narrated on the authority of Abdulrahman Bin Abd Rabb AlKaba who said: I entered the Masjid when Abdullah Bin Amr Bin AlAs was sitting in the shade of the Kaba and the people had gathered around him. I betook myself to them and sat near him. Now Abdullah said: I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. We halted at a place. Some of us began to set right their tents; others began to compete with one another in shooting; and others began to graze their beasts; when an announcer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ announced that the people should gather together for prayer; so we gathered around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: It was the duty of every Prophet that has gone before me to guide his followers to what he knew was good for them and warn them against what he knew was bad for them; but this Umma of yours has its days of peace and security in the beginning of its career; and in the last phase of its existence it will be afflicted with trials and with things disagreeable to you. In this phase of the Umma ; there will be tremendous trials one after the other; each making the previous one dwindle into insignificance. When they would be afflicted with a trial; the believer would say: This is going to bring about my destruction. When at the trial is over; they would be afflicted with another trial; and the believer would say: This surely is going to be my end. Whoever wishes to be delivered from the fire and enter the garden should die with faith in Allah and the Last Day and should treat the people as he wishes to be treated by them. He who swears allegiance to a Caliph should give him the piedge of his hand and the sincerity of his heart i. e. submit to him both outwardly as well as inwardly. The narrator says: I came close to him Abdullah Bin Amr Bin AlAs and said to him: Can you say on oath that you heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? He pointed with his hands to his ears and his heart and said: My ears heard it and my mind retained it. I said to him: This cousin of yours; Muawiya; orders us to unjustly consume our wealth among ourselves and to kill one another; while Allah says: O ye who believe; do not consume your wealth among yourselves unjustly; unless it be trade based on mutual agreement; and do not kill yourselves. Verily; God is Merciful to you iv. 29. Whoso from the believing women accepted these conditions and agreed to abide by them were considered to have offered themselves for swearing fealty. When they had formally declared their resolve to do so; the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him would say to them: You may go. I have confirmed your fealty. By God; the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never touched the hand of a woman. He would take the oath of fealty from them by oral declaration. In the meanwhile a man came there; and sat near his knees and said: Messenger of Allah; what Allslam is? -to which he the Holy Prophet replied: You must not associate anything with Allah; and establish prayer; pay the poor-rate Zakat and observe the fasts of Ramadan. He said: You have told the truth. He again said: Messenger of Allah; what AlIman the faith is? He the Holy Prophet said: That you affirm your faith in Allah; His angels; His Books; His meeting; His Apostles; and that you believe in Resurrection and that you believe in Qadr Divine Decree in all its entirety; He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He again said: Messenger of Allah; what AlIhsan is? Upon this he the Holy Prophet said: AlIhsan implies that you fear Allah as if you are seeing Him; and though you see Him not; verily He is seeing you. He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He the inquirer said: When there would be the hour of Doom ? Upon this he the HolyProphet said: The one who is being asked about it is no better informed than the inquirer himself. I; however; narrate some of its signs and these are : when you see a slave woman giving birth to her master - that is one of the signs of Doom ; when you see barefooted; naked; deaf and dumb ignorant and foolish persons as the rulers of the earth - that is one of the signs of the Doom. And when you see the shepherds of black camels exult in buildings - that is one of the signs of Doom. The Doom is one of the five things wrapped in the unseen. No one knows them except Allah. Then the Holy Prophet recited the folowing verse : Verily Allah! with Him alone is the knowledge of the hour and He it is Who sends down the rain and knows that which is in the wombs and no person knows whatsoever he shall earn on morrow and a person knows not in whatsoever land he shall die. Verily Allah is Knowing; Aware. He the narrator; Abu Huraira said: Then the person stood up an made his way. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Bring him back to me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ constantly requested him to accept his offer ; and on the other hand was repeated the same statement of Abu Jahl and Abdullah Bin Abi Umaya till Abu Talib gave his final decision and be stuck to the religion of Abd AlMuttalib and refused to profess that there is no god but Allah. Upon this the Messenger of Allah remarked: By Allah; I will persistently beg pardon for you till I am forbidden to do so by God ; It was then that Allah; the Magnificent and the Glorious; revealed this verse: It is not meet for the Prophet and for those who believe that they should beg pardon for the polytheists; even though they were their kith and kin; after it had been made known to them that they were the denizens of Hell ix. 113 And it was said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : Verily thou canst not guide to the right path whom thou lovest. When the people recited it and it smoothly flowed on their tongues; then Allah revealed immediately afterwards: The Apostle believes in that which is sent down unto him from his Lord; and so do the believers. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10228AlQasim Bin AlFadl AlHuddani narrated from Yousif Bin Sad; who said: A man stood up in front of AlHasan Bin Ali; after he pledged to Muawiyah; so he said: You have made fools of the believers. or: O you who has made fools of the believers So he said: Do not scold me so; may Allah have mercy upon you; for indeed the Prophet had a dream in which he saw Banu Umayah upon his Minbar. That distressed him; so the following was revealed: Verily We have granted you AlKauthar O Muhammad meaning a river in Paradise; and the following was revealed: Verily We have sent it down on the Night of AlQadr. And what will make you know what the Night of AlQadr is? The Night of AlQadr is better than a thousand months; in which Banu Umayah rules after you O Muhammad. AlQasim said: So we counted them; and found that they were one-thousand months; not a day more nor less. The Chapter on Revelation And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Chapters on Tafsir in Sunan AlTermithi
SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10290Abu Saeed AlKhudri said: One day; the Messenger of Allah s.a.w led us in Prayer AlAsr while it was still daytime. Then he stood to give us a Khutbah. He did not leave anything that would happen until the Hour of Judgement except that he informed us about it. Whoever remembered it remembered it; and whoever forgot it forgot it. Among what he said was: Indeed the world is green and sweet; and indeed Allah has left you to remain to see how you behave. So beware of the world; and beware of the women. And among what he said was: The awe status of people should not prevent a man from saying the truth when he knows it.He one of the narrators said: Abu Saeed wept; then he said: By Allah! We have seen things and we feared. And among what he said in it; was : Indeed; for every treacherous person there shall be a banner erected on The Day Of Resurrection in proportion to his treachery. And there is no treachery greater than the treachery of a leader to the masses whose banner shall be positioned at his buttocks. And among what we remember from that day is: Behold! Indeed the children of Adam were created in various classes. Among them is he who was born a believer; lives as a believer; and dies a believer. Among them; is he who was born a disbeliever; lives as a disbeliever; and dies a disbeliever. Among them; is he who was born a believer; lives as a believer; and dies a disbeliever. Among them; is he who was born a disbeliever; lives as a disbeliever; and dies a believer. Behold! Among them is the slow to get angry; the quick to calm. Among them is the quick anger and the quick to calm; so this is with that. Behold! Among them is the quick get angry and the slow to calm; and indeed the best of them is the slow to get angry and the quick to calm; and the worst of them is the quick get angry and the slow to calm. Behold! Among them is he who pays back well and collects well. Among them is he who is bad with paying back and good when collecting. Among them is he who pays back well and is bad with collecting; so this is with that. Behold! Among them is he who is bad with paying back and bad with collecting. Indeed the best of them is the one who is good in paying back and good in collecting. And the worst of them is the one who is bad with paying back and bad with collecting. Behold! Anger is an ember in the heart of the son of Adam; as you see it in the redness of his eyes and the bulge of his jugular veins. So whoever senses something from that; then let him cling to the ground. He said: So we began turning towards the sun to see if anything of it remained meaning whether it has set or not. In these Verses; they are criticizing us for our deeds when they recite them. So he called them together and gave them the choice between being put to death; or giving up reading the Tawrah and Injil; except for what had been altered. They said: Why do you want us to change? Leave us alone. Some of them said: Build us a tower and let us go up there; and give us something to lift up our food and drink so we do not have to mix with you. Others said: Let us go and wander throughout the land; and we will drink as the wild animals drink; and if you capture us in your land; you may kill us. Others said: Build houses for us in the wilderness; and we will dig wells and grow vegetables; and we will not mix with you or pass by you; for there is no one of the tribes among whom we do not have close relatives. This is correct in the tradition of Abu Said AlKhudri. This version has the additional words he who believes in Allaah and the Last Day should not ride on a mount belonging to the spoil of Muslims and when he makes it emaciated returns it; he who believes in Allaah and the Last Day should not put on cloth belonging to the spoils of Muslims and when makes it old shabby returns it.Abu Dawud said The word menstrual course is not guarded. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25912Yahya Bin Yamur said : The first to speak on Divine decree in AlBasrah was Mabad AlJuhani. I and Humaid Bin Abdulrahman AlHimyari proceeded to perform Hajj or Umrah. We said : would that we meet any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that we could ask him about what they say with regard to divine decree. So Allah helped us to meet Abdullah Bin Umar who was entering the Masjid. So I and my companion surrounded him; and I thought that my companion would entrust me the task of speaking to him. Then I said : Abu Abdulrahman there appeared on our side some people who recite the Quran and are engaged in the hair-splitting of knowledge. They conceive that there is no Divine decree and everything happens freely without predestination. He said : When you meet those people; tell them that I am free from them; and they are free from me. By Him by Whom swears Abdullah Bin Umar; if one of them has gold equivalent to Uhud and he spends it; Allah will not accept it from him until he believes in Divine decree. He then said : Umar Bin AlKhattab transmitted to me a tradition; saying : One day when we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a man with very white clothing and very black hair came up to us. No mark of travel was visible on him; and we did not recognize him. Sitting down beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; leaning his knees against his and placing his hands on his thighs; he said : tell me; Muhammad; about Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said : Islam means that you should testify that there is no god but Allah; and Muhammad is Allahs Apostle; that you should observe prayer; pay Zakat; fast during Ramadan; and perform Hajj to the house i.e.; Kabah ; If you have the means to go. He said : You have spoken the truth. We were surprised at his questioning him and then declaring that he spoke the truth. He said : Now tell me about faith. He replied : It means that you should believe in Allah; his angels; his Books; his Apostles and the last day; and that you should believe in the decreeing both of good and evil. He said : You have spoken the truth. He said : now tell me about doing good ihsan. He replied: It means that you should worship Allah as though you are seeing him; if you are not seeing him; he is seeing you. He said: Now tell me about the hour. He replied : The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the one who is asking. He said : Then tell me about its signs. He replied : That a maidservant should beget her mistress; and that you should see barefooted; naked; poor men and shepherds exalting themselves in buildings. Umar said : He then went away; and I waited for three days; then he said : Do you know who the questioner was; Umar? I replied : Allah and his Apostle know best. He said : He was Gabriel who came to you to teach you your religion. The Chapter on Hour And Day Of Truth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Belief In Divine Decree in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25916Ibn AlDailami said : I went to Ubay Bin Kaab and said him : I am confused about Divine decree; so tell me something by means of which Allah may remove the confusion from my mind. He replied : were Allah to punish everyone in the heavens and in the earth. He would do so without being unjust to them; and were he to show mercy to them his mercy would be much better than their actions merited. Were you to spend in support of Allahs cause an amount of gold equivalent to Uhud; Allah would not accept it from you till you believed in divine decree and knew that what has come to you could not miss you and that what has missed you could not come to you. Were you to die believing anything else you would enter Hell. He said : I then went to Abdullah Bin MAsud and he said something to the same effect. I next went to Hudhaifah Bin AlYaman and he said something to the same effect. I next went to Zaid Bin Thabit who told me something from the Prophet ﷺ to the same effect. The Chapter on Assignments And Life in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Belief In Divine Decree in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25970Narrated AlBara Ibn Azib: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When we reached his grave; it was not yet dug. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jabir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back; and at that moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord; what is your religion; and who is your Prophet? Hannad version says: Two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth; so spread a bed for him from Paradise; clothe him from Paradise; and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him; and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel; saying: His spirit will be restored to his body; two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from Heaven: He has lied; so spread a bed for him from Hell; clothe him from Hell; and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him; and his grave will be compressed; so that his ribs will be crushed together. Jabir version adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him; having a sledge-hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it; it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn; and he will become dust. He who sits during them will be better than he who gets up and he who walks during them is better than he who runs. So break your bows; cut your bowstrings and strike your swords on stones. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26093Narrated AbudDarda and Ubadah Ibn AlSamit: Khalid Ibn Dihqan said: When we were engaged in the battle of Constantinople at Dhuluqiyah; a man of the people of Palestine; who was one of their nobility and elite and whose rank was known to them; came forward. He was called Hani Ibn Kulthum Ibn Sharik AlKinani. He greeted Abdullah Ibn Zakariya who knew his rank. Khalid said to us: Abdullah Ibn Abu Zakariya told us: I heard Umm AlDarda say: I heard AbudDarda say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: It is hoped that Allah may forgive every sin; except in the case of one who dies a polytheist; or one who purposely kills a believer. Hani Ibn Kulthum AlRabi then said: I heard Mahmud Ibn AlRabi transmitting a tradition from Ubadah Ibn AlSamit who transmitted from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: If a man kills a believer unjustly; Allah will not accept any action or duty of his; obligatory or supererogatory. Khalid then said to us: Ibn Abu Zakariya transmitted a tradition to us from Umm AlDarda on the authority of AbudDarda from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: A believer will continue to go on quickly and well so long as he does not shed unlawful blood; when he sheds unlawful blood; he becomes slow and heavy-footed. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26096Saeed Bin Jubair said: I asked Ibn Abbas about the verse relating to intentional homicide in Surat AlNisa He said: When the verse Those who invoke not with Allah any other god; nor slay such life as Allah had made sacred; except for just cause was revealed; the polytheists of Mecca said: We have killed the soul prohibited by Allah; invoked another god along with Allah for worship; and committed shameful deeds. So Allah revealed the verse unless he repents; believes; and works righteous deeds; for Allah will change the evil of such persons into good. This is meant for them. As regards the verse if a man kills a believer intentionally; his recompense is Hell He said: If a man knows the command of Islam and intentionally kills a believer; his repentance wil not be accepted. I then mentioned it to Mujahid. He said: Except the one who is ashamed of his sin.The Chapter on Killing And Forgiveness in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Gravity Of Killing A Believer in Sunan Abu Dawoud

MuwataMalik-017-001-34273Yahya related to me from Malik that Abdullah Ibn Abdullah Ibn Jabir Ibn Atik said that Abdullah Ibn Umar had come to them in Bani Muawiya; one of the villages of the Ansar; and said; Do you know where the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; prayed in this Masjid of yours? I told him; Yes; and I pointed out a place near where he was. He said; Do you know the three things for which he made dua here? I said Yes. He said; Tell me them then. I said; He asked that He would not make an enemy from among the non- believers triumph over the believers and that He would not destroy the believers by bad harvests; and he was given both these things. And he asked that He would not make the believers fight among themselves; and that was refused. Ibn Umar said; You have told the truth; and he added; Turmoil will not cease until the day of rising. The Chapter on Alansar And Brotherhood in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Congregation in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34360Yahya related to me from Malik from Salih Ibn Kaysan from Ubaydullah Ibn Abdullah Ibn Utba Ibn Masud that Zayd Ibn Khalid AlJuhani said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; took the subh prayer with us at Hudaybiya after it had rained in the night. When he had finished he went up to the people and said; Do you know what your Lord has said? They said; Allah and His Messenger know best. He said; Some of my slaves have begun the morning believing in Me; and others have begun it rejecting Me. As for those who say; We were rained on by the overflowing favour of Allah and His mercy; they believe in Me and reject the stars. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should be generous to his neighbour. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day; should be generous to his guest. MuwataMalik-017-001-35184Yahya related to me from Malik that the best of what he had heard about a man who is forced by necessity to eat carrion is that he ate it until he was full and then he took provision from it. If he found something which would enable him to dispense with it; he threw it away. Malik when asked whether or not a man who had been forced by necessity to eat carrion; should eat it when he also found the fruit; crops or sheep of a people in that place; answered; If he thinks that the owners of the fruit; crops; or sheep will believe his necessity so that he will not be deemed a thief and have his hand cut off; then I think that he should eat from whatever he finds that which will remove his hunger but he should not carry any of it away. I prefer that he does that than that he eat carrion. If he fears that he will not be believed; and will be deemed a thief for what he has taken; then I think that it is better for him to eat the carrion; and he has leeway to eat carrion in this respect. Even so; I fear that someone who is not forced by necessity to eat carrion might exceed the limits out of a desire to consume other peoples property; crops or fruit. Malik said; A free man must not marry a slave-girl when he can afford to marry a free-woman; and he should not marry a slave-girl when he cannot afford a free woman unless he fears fornication. That is because Allah; may he be Blessed and Exalted; says in His Book; If you are not affluent enough to marry believing women; who are muhsanat; take slave-girls who are believing women that your right hands own.
