SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2231Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah will say; O Adam!. Adam will reply; Labbaik and Sadaik I respond to Your Calls; I am obedient to Your orders ; wal Khair fi Yadaik and all the good is in Your Hands ! Then Allah will say to Adam ; Bring out the people of the Fire. Adam will say; What how many are the people of the Fire? Allah will say; Out of every thousand take out nine hundred and ninety-nine persons. At that time children will become hoary-headed and every pregnant female will drop her load have an abortion and you will see the people as if they were drunk; yet not drunk; But Allah punishment will be very severe. That news distressed the companions of the Prophet ﷺ too much; and they said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Who amongst us will be that man the lucky one out of one-thousand who will be saved from the Fire ? He said; Have the good news that one-thousand will be from Gog and Magog; and the one to be saved will be from you. The Prophet ﷺ added; By Him in Whose Hand my soul is; I Hope that you Muslims will be one third of the people of Paradise. On that; we glorified and praised Allah and said; Allahu Akbar. The Prophet ﷺ then said; By Him in Whose Hand my soul is; I hope that you will be one half of the people of Paradise; as your Muslims example in comparison to the other people non-Muslims ; is like that of a white hair on the skin of a black ox; or a round hairless spot on the foreleg of a donkey. The Chapter on Charity To Save Oneself From Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Who associate others in worship with Allah in Sahih AlBukhari

He said; I heard him saying; When AlDajjal appears; he will have fire and water along with him. What the people will consider as cold water; will be fire that will burn things. So; if anyone of you comes across this; he should fall in the thing which will appear to him as fire; for in reality; it will be fresh cold water. Hudhaifa added; I also heard him saying; From among the people preceding your generation; there was a man whom the angel of death visited to capture his soul. So his soul was captured and he was asked if he had done any good deed. He replied; I dont remember any good deed. He was asked to think it over. He said; I do not remember; except that I used to trade with the people in the world and I used to give a respite to the rich and forgive the poor among my debtors. So Allah made him enter Paradise. Hudhaifa further said; I also heard him saying; Once there was a man on his death-bed; who; losing every hope of surviving said to his family: When I die; gather for me a large heap of wood and make a fire to burn me. When the fire eats my meat and reaches my bones; and when the bones burn; take and crush them into powder and wait for a windy day to throw it i.e. the powder over the sea. They did so; but Allah collected his particles and asked him: Why did you do so? He replied: For fear of You. So Allah forgave him. SahihMuslim-017-001-17866It has been narrated on the authority of Masruq Who said: We asked Abdullah about the Quranic verse: Think not of those who are slain in Allah way as dead. Nay; they are alive; finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord.. iii. 169. He said: We asked the meaning of the verse from the Holy Prophet who said: The souls; of the martyrs live in the bodies of green birds who have their nests in chandeliers hung from the throne of the Almighty. They eat the fruits of Paradise from wherever they like and then nestle in these chandeliers. Once their Lord cast a glance at them and said: Do ye want anything? They said: What more shall we desire? We eat the fruit of Paradise from wherever we like. Their Lord asked them the same question thrice. When they saw that they will continue to be asked and not left without answering the question. they said: O Lord; we wish that Thou mayest return our souls to our bodies so that we may be slain in Thy way once again. When He Allah saw that they had no need; they were left to their joy in heaven. The Chapter on Allah Characteristics And The Human Soul in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 33 in Sahih Muslim

And if he is a nonbeliever and as it the soul leaves the body-Hammad made a mention of its foul smell and of its being cursed-the dwellers of the sky say: There comes a dirty soul from the side of the earth; and it would be said: Take it to its destined end. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10046Narrated Imran Bin Hosain: We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when some of his Companions fell behind. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his voice reciting these two Ayat: O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily the earthquake of the hour is a terrible thing... up to His saying: but Allah torment is severe 21:1 & 2. When his Companions heard that; they hastened to catch up with him; since they knew that he had something to say. He ﷺ said: Do you know what Day this is? That is the Day when Adam will be called. His Lord will call him and say: O Adam; send forth those who are to be sent to the Fire. He will say: O Lord! How many are to be sent to the Fire? He will say: From every one-thousand there are nine-hundred and ninety-nine for the Fire and one for Paradise. So the people despaired as if they would not smile again. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the state of his Companions; he said: Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad; you will be counted with two creations who are immense in numbers; Yajuj and Majuj; and those who have died among the progeny of Adam and the progeny of Iblis. He said: So some of the people grief went away; and he ﷺ said: Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9888Narrated Masruq: from Abdullah that he was asked about Allah saying: Think not of those as dead who are killed in the way of Allah. Nay they are alive; with their Lord 3:169. So he said: As for us; we asked about that; and we were informed that their souls are in green birds wandering in Paradise wherever they wish; returning to lamps hanging from the Throne. Your Lord looks at them and says: Do you want anything more that We may grant you more? They say: Our Lord! What more could we have when we are in Paradise wandering wherever we want Then He looks at them a second time and says: Do you want anything more that We may grant you more? When they realize that they will not be left alone with that; they say: Return our souls to our bodies; so that we may return to the world to be killed in Your cause another time. The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Killing in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Chapters on Tafsir in Sunan AlTermithi

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26844Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There were two men among Banu Israil; who were striving for the same goal. One of them would commit sin and the other would strive to do his best in the world. The man who exerted himself in worship continued to see the other in sin. He would say: Refrain from it. One day he found him in sin and said to him: Refrain from it. He said: Leave me alone with my Lord. Have you been sent as a watchman over me? He said: I swear by Allah; Allah will not forgive you; nor will he admit you to Paradise. Then their souls were taken back by Allah ; and they met together with the Lord of the worlds. He Allah said to this man who had striven hard in worship; Had you knowledge about Me or had you power over that which I had in My hand? He said to the man who sinned: Go and enter Paradise by My mercy. He said about the other: Take him to Hell. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27412Abu Huraira reported: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from the Battle of Khaibar; he travelled during the night. When we felt sleep; he halted for rest. Addressing Bilal he said: Keep vigilance at night for us. But Bilal who was leaning against the saddle of his mount was dominated by sleep. Neither the Prophet ﷺ nor Bilal nor any of his Companions could get up till the sunshine struck them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up first of all. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was embarrassed and said: O Bilal ! He replied: He who detained your soul; detained my soul; Messenger of Allah; my parents be sacrificed for you. Then they drove their mounts to a little distance. The Prophet ﷺ perfumed ablution and commanded Bilal who made announcement for the prayer. He the Prophet led them in the Fajr prayer. When he finished prayer; he said: If anyone forget saying prayer; he should observe it when he recalls it; for Allah has said in the Quran : Establish prayer for my remembrance. Yunus said: Ibn Shihab used to recite this verse in a similar way i.e. instead of reciting the word li-dhikri - for the sake of My remembrance - he would recite li-dhikra - when you remember. Ahmad one of the narrator said: Anbasah a reporter reported on the authority of Yunus the word li-dhikri for the sake of my remembrance.
