But if ye are prevented (From completing it), send an offering for sacrifice, such as ye may find, and do not shave your heads until the offering reaches the place of sacrifice. And if any of you is ill, or has an ailment in his scalp, (Necessitating shaving), (He should) in compensation either fast, or feed the poor, or offer sacrifice; and when ye are in peaceful conditions (again), if any one wishes to continue the 'umra on to the hajj, He must make an offering, such as he can afford, but if he cannot afford it, He should fast three days during the hajj and seven days on his return, Making ten days in all. This is for those whose household is not in (the precincts of) the Sacred Mosque. And fear Allah, and know that Allah Is strict in punishment.

'If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.

If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them).

AlHasan AlBasri added: No doubt; I heard that Abu Bakra said; Once while the Prophet was addressing the people ; AlHasan bin Ali came and the Prophet ﷺ said; This son of mine is a chief; and Allah may make peace between two groups of Muslims through him. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-159		Narrated Abdullah Bin Masud: We used to say the greeting; name and greet each other in the prayer. Allah Messenger ﷺ heard it and said:-Say; AlTahiyatu lil-lahi was-salawatu wat-taiyibatu. Assalamu Alaika aiyuha-n-Nabiyu warahmatu- Allahi wa-barakatuhu. _ Assalamu alaina wa-ala ibadi Allahi AlSalihin.. Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan Abdu hu wa Rasuluh. All the compliments are for Allah and all the prayers and all the good things are for Allah. Peace be on you; O Prophet; and Allah mercy and blessings are on you. And peace be on us and on the good pious worshipers of Allah. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Apostle. So; when you have said this; then you have surely sent the greetings to every good pious worshipper of Allah; whether he be in the Heaven or on the Earth. The pagans said; Dont write: Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ ; for if you were an apostle we would not fight with you. Allah Apostle asked Ali to rub it out; but Ali said; I will not be the person to rub it out. Allah Messenger ﷺ rubbed it out and made peace with them on the condition that the Prophet ﷺ and his companions would enter Mecca and stay there for three days; and that they would enter with their weapons in cases. Then Muawiya sent two Quraishi men from the tribe of Abd i-Shams called Abdulrahman Bin Sumura and Abdullah Bin Amir Bin Kuraiz to AlHasan saying to them; Go to this man i.e. AlHasan and negotiate peace with him and talk and appeal to him. So; they went to AlHasan and talked and appealed to him to accept peace. AlHasan said; We; the offspring of Abdul Muttalib; have got wealth and people have indulged in killing and corruption and money only will appease them. They said to AlHasan; Muawiya offers you so and so; and appeals to you and entreats you to accept peace. AlHasan said to them; But who will be responsible for what you have said? They said; We will be responsible for it. So; whatever AlHasan asked they said; We will be responsible for it for you. So; AlHasan concluded a peace treaty with Muawiya. AlHasan AlBasri said: I heard Abu Bakr saying; I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ on the pulpit and AlHasan Bin Ali was by his side. The Prophet ﷺ was looking once at the people and once at AlHasan Bin Ali saying; This son of mine is a Saiyid i.e. a noble and may Allah make peace between two big groups of Muslims through him. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6590		Narrated AlBara: When the Prophet ﷺ went out for the Umra in the month of Dhal-Qada; the people of Mecca did not allow him to enter Mecca till he agreed to conclude a peace treaty with them by virtue of which he would stay in Mecca for three days only in the following year. When the agreement was being written; the Muslims wrote: This is the peace treaty; which Muhammad; Apostle of Allah has concluded. The infidels said to the Prophet ; We do not agree with you on this; for if we knew that you are Apostle of Allah we would not have prevented you for anything i.e. entering Mecca; etc. ; but you are Muhammad; the son of Abdullah. Then he said to Ali; Erase the name of Apostle of Allah. Ali said; No; by Allah; I will never erase you i.e. your name. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ took the writing sheet...and he did not know a better writing..and he wrote or got it the following written! This is the peace treaty which Muhammad; the son of Abdullah; has concluded: Muhammad should not bring arms into Mecca except sheathed swords; and should not take with him any person of the people of Mecca even if such a person wanted to follow him; and if any of his companions wants to stay in Mecca; he should not forbid him. In the next year when the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca and the allowed period of stay elapsed; the infidels came to Ali and said Tell your companion Muhammad to go out; as the allowed period of his stay has finished. So the Prophet ﷺ departed from Mecca and the daughter of Hamza followed him shouting O Uncle; O Uncle! Ali took her by the hand and said to Fatima; Take the daughter of your uncle. So she made her ride on her horse. When they reached Medina Ali; Zaid and Jafar quarreled about her. Ali said; I took her for she is the daughter of my uncle. Jafar said; She is the daughter of my uncle and her aunt is my wife. Zaid said; She is the daughter of my brother. On that; the Prophet ﷺ gave her to her aunt and said; The aunt is of the same status as the mother. He then said to Ali; You are from me; and I am from you; and said to Jafar; You resemble me in appearance and character; and said to Zaid; You are our brother and our freed slave. Ali said to the Prophet Wont you marry the daughter of Hamza? The Prophet ﷺ said; She is the daughter of my foster brother. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6591		Narrated Ibn Umar: Allah Messenger ﷺ set out with the intention of performing Umra; but the infidels of Quraish intervened between him and the Kaba; so the Prophet ﷺ slaughtered his Hadi i.e. sacrificing animals and shaved his head at AlHudaibiya and concluded a peace treaty with them i.e. the infidels on condition that he would perform the Umra the next year and that he would not carry arms against them except swords; and would not stay in Mecca more than what they would allow. So the Prophet ﷺ performed the Umra in the following year and according to the peace treaty; he entered Mecca; and when he had stayed there for three days; the infidels ordered him to leave; and he left. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7107		Narrated Anas: A banquet of bread and meat was held on the occasion of the marriage of the Prophet ﷺ to Zainab bint Jahsh. I was sent to invite the people to the banquet ; and so the people started coming in groups ; They would eat and then leave. Another batch would come; eat and leave. So I kept on inviting the people till I found nobody to invite. Then I said; O Allah Prophet! I do not find anybody to invite. He said; Carry away the remaining food. Then a batch of three persons stayed in the house chatting. The Prophet ﷺ left and went towards the dwelling place of Aisha and said; Peace and Allah Mercy be on you; O the people of the house! She replied; Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you too. How did you find your wife? May Allah bless you. Then he went to the dwelling places of all his other wives and said to them the same as he said to Aisha and they said to him the same as Aisha had said to him. Then the Prophet ﷺ returned and found a group of three persons still in the house chatting. The Prophet was a very shy person; so he went out for the second time and went towards the dwelling place of Aisha. I do not remember whether I informed him that the people have gone away. So he returned and as soon as he entered the gate; he drew the curtain between me and him; and then the Verse of AlHijab was revealed. The second claimant who was wiser than him said: Well; decide amongst us according to the Book of Allah; but permit me to say something. Thereupon Allah Messenger may peace be upon ham said: Say. He said: My son was a servant in the house of this person and he committed adultery with his wife. I was informed that my son deserved stoning to death as punishment for this offence. I gave one hundred goats and a slave girl as ransom for this. I asked the scholars if this could serve as an expiation for this offence. They informed me that my son deserved one hundred lathes and exile for one year. and this woman deserved stoning as she was married. Thereupon Allah Messenger may peace he upon him said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life. I will decide between you according to the Book of Allah. The slave-girl and the goats should be given back; and your son is to be punished with one hundred lashes and exile for one year. And; O Unais Bin Zuhaq AlAslami ; go to this woman in the morning; and if she makes a confession; then stone her. He the narrator said: He went to her in the morning and she made a confession. SahihMuslim-017-001-18043		It is narrated on the authority of Urwa Bin AlZubair who narrated from Aisha that she informed him that Fatima; daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; sent someone to Abu Bakr to demand from him her share of the legacy left by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from what Allah had bestowed upon him at Medina and Fadak and what was left from one-filth of the income annually received from Khaibar. Abu Bakr said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We prophets do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity. The household of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ will live on the income from these properties; but; by Allah; I will not change the charity of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the condition in which it was in his own time. I will do the same with it as the Messenger of Allah may peace be upun him himself used to do. So Abu Bakr refused to hand over anything from it to Fatima who got angry with Abu Bakr for this reason. She forsook him and did not talk to him until the end of her life. She lived for six months after the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When she died; her husband. Ali Bin Abu Talib; buried her at night. He did not inform Abu Bakr about her death and offered the funeral prayer over her himself. During the lifetime of Fatima; All received special regard from the people. After she had died; he felt estrangement in the faces of the people towards him. So he sought to make peace with Abu Bakr and offer his allegiance to him. He had not yet owed allegiance to him as Caliph during these months. He sent a person to Abu Bakr requesting him to visit him unaccompanied by anyone disapproving the presence of Umar. Umar said to Abu Bakr: BY Allah; you will not visit them alone. Abu Bakr said: What will they do to me? By Allah; I will visit them. And he did pay them a visit alone. All recited Tashahhud as it is done in the beginning of a religious sermon ; then said: We recognise your moral excellence and what Allah has bestowed upon you. We do not envy the favour i. e. the Catiphate which Allah nas conferred upon you; but you have done it assumed the position of Caliph alone without consulting us ; and we thought we had a right to be consulted on account of our kinship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He continued to talk to Abu Bakr in this vein until the latter eyes welled up with tears. Then Abd Bakr spoke and said: By Allah; in Whose Hand is my life; the kinship of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is dearer to me than the kinship of my own people. As regards the dispute that has arisen between you and me about these properties; I have not deviated from the right course and I have not given up doing about them what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do. So Ali said to Abu Bakr: This aftetnoon is fixed for swearing allegiance to you. So when Abu Bakr had finished his Zuhr prayer; he ascended the pulpit and recited Tashahhud; and described the status of Ali; his delay in swearing allegiance and the excuse which lie had offered to him for this delay. After this he asked for God forgiveness. Then Ali Bin Abu Talib recited the Tashahhud. extolled the merits of Abu Bakr and said that his action was nott prompted by any jealousy of Abu Bakr on his part or his refusal to accept the high position which Allah had conferred upon him; adding: But we were of the opinion that we should have a share in the government; but the matter had been decided without taking us into confidence; and this displeased us. Hence the delay in offering allegiance. The Muslims were pleased with this explanation and they said: You have done the right thing. SahihMuslim-017-001-18117		It has been narrated on the authority of Aisha; the wife of the Prophet ﷺ ; who said to the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him : Messenger of Allah; has there come upon you a day more terrible than the day of Uhud. He said: I have experienced from thy people and the hardest treatment I met from them was what I received from them on the day of Aqaba. I betook myself to Ibn Abd Yalil Bin Abd Kulal with the purpose of inviting him to Islam; but he did not respond to me as I desired. So I departed with signs of deep distress on my face. I did not recover until I reached Qarn AlThaalib. Where I raised my head; lo! near me was a cloud which had cast its shadow on me. I looked and lo! there was in it the angel Jibril who called out to me and said: God; the Honoured and Glorious; has heard what thy people have said to thee; and how they have reacted to thy call. And He has sent to thee the angel in charge of the mountains so that thou mayest order him what thou wishest him to do with regard to them. The angel in charge of the mountains then called out to me; greeted me and said: Muhammad; God has listened to what thy people have said to thee. I am the angel in charge of the mountains; and thy Lord has sent me to thee so that thou mayest order me what thou wishest. If thou wishest that I should bring together the two mountains that stand opposite to each other at the extremities of Mecca to crush them in between; I would do that. But the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him said to him: I rather hope that God will produce from their descendants such persons as will worship Allah; the One; and will not ascribe partners to Him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18133		It has been reported on the authority of Salama Bin Akwa who said: On the day of the Battle of Khaibar my brother fought a fierce fight by the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. His sword rebounded and killed him. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah may peace be upon hill talked about his death and doubted whether it was martyrdom. They said : He is a man killed by his own weapon; and expressed doubt about his affair. Salama said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from Khaibar; I said: Messenger of Allah; permit me that I may recite to you some rajaz verses. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted him. Umar Bin AlKhattab said: I know what you will recite. I recited: By God; if God had guided us not; We would hive neither been guided aright nor practised charity; Nor offered prayers. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What you have said is true; I continued : And descend on us peace and tranquillity And keep us steadfast if we encounter with our enemies And the polytheists have rebelled against us. When I finished my rajaz; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who composed these verses? I said: They were composed by my brother. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: May God show mercy to him! I said: By God; some people are reluctant to invoke God mercy on him because they say he is a man who died by his own sword. Hearing this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He died as God devotee and warrior. Ibn Shihab has said: I asked one of the sons of Salama Bin Akwa about the death of Amir. He related to me a similar tradition except that he said: When I said some people were reluctant invoke God blessings on him; the Messenger of Allah may peace be; upon him said: They lied. Amir died as God devotee and warrior in the cause of Allah. For him there is a double reward; and he pointed out this by putting his two fingers together. SahihMuslim-017-001-18436		It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira: We were sitting around the Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be upon him. Abu Bakr and Umar were also there among the audience. In the meanwhile the Messenger of Allah got up and left us; He delayed in coming back to us; which caused anxiety that he might be attacked by some enemy when we were not with him; so being alarmed we got up. I was the first to be alarmed. I; therefore; went out to look for the Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be upon him and came to a garden belonging to the Banu AlNajjar; a section of the Ansar went round it looking for a gate but failed to find one. Seeing a rabi i. e. streamlet flowing into the garden from a well outside; drew myself together; like a fox; and slinked into the place where God Messenger was. He the Holy Prophet said: Is it Abu Huraira? I Abu Huraira replied: Yes; Messenger of Allah. He the Holy Prophet said: What is the matter with you? replied: You were amongst us but got up and went away and delayed for a time; so fearing that you might be attacked by some enemy when we were not with you; we became alarmed. I was the first to be alarmed. So when I came to this garden; I drew myself together as a fox does; and these people are following me. He addressed me as Abu Huraira and gave me his sandals and said: Take away these sandals of mine; and when you meet anyone outside this garden who testifies that there is no god but Allah; being assured of it in his heart; gladden him by announcing that he shall go to Paradise. Now the first one I met was Umar. He asked: What are these sandals; Abu Huraira? I replied: These are the sandals of the Messenger of Allah with which he has sent me to gladden anyone I meet who testifies that there is no god but Allah; being assured of it in his heart; with the announcement that he would go to Paradise. Thereupon Umar struck me on the breast and I fell on my back. He then said: Go back; Abu Huraira; So I returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and was about to break into tears. Umar followed me closely and there he was behind me. The Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be on him said: What is the matter with you; Abu Huraira? I said: I happened to meet Umar and conveyed to him the message with which you sent me. He struck me on my breast which made me fall down upon my back and ordered me to go back. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What prompted you to do this; Umar? He said: Messenger of Allah; my mother and father be sacrificed to thee; did you send Abu Huraira with your sandals to gladden anyone he met and who testified that there is no god but Allah; and being assured of it in his heart; with the tidings that he would go to Paradise? He said: Yes. Umar said: Please do it not; for I am afraid that people will trust in it alone; let them go on doing good deeds. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Well; let them. Imran was so much enraged that his eyes became red and he said: I am narrating to you the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and you are contradicting it. He the narrator said: Imran reported the hadith; He the narrator said: Bushair repeated; the same thing. Imran was enraged. He the narrator said: We asserted: Verily Bushair is one amongst us. SahihMuslim-017-001-18705		Anas Bin Malik reported on the authority of Malik Bin Sa sa; perhaps a person of his tribe; that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: I was near the House i. e. Kabah in a state between sleep and wakefulness when I heard someone say: He is the third among the two persons. Then he came to me and took me with him. Then a golden basin containing the water of Zamzam was brought to me and my heart was opened up to such and such part. Qatada said: I asked him who was with me i e. the narrator and what he meant by such and such part. He replied: It means that it was opened up to the lower part of his abdomen Then the hadith continues : My heart was extracted and it was washed with the water of Zamzam and then it was restored in its original position; after which it was filled with faith and wisdom. I was then brought a white beast which is called AlBuraq; bigger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. Its stride was as long as the eye could reach. I was mounted on it; and then we went forth till we reached the lowest heaven. Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened; and it was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He Gabriel said: Yes. He the Prophet said: Then the gate was opened for us and it was said : Welcome unto him! His is a blessed arrival. Then we came to Adam ﷺ. And he the narrator narrated the whole account of the hadith. The Holy Prophet observed that he met Jesus in the second heaven; Yahya peace be on both of them in the third heaven; Yousif in the third; Idris in the fourth; Harun in the fifth peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. Then we travelled on till we reached the sixth heaven and came to Moses ﷺ and I greeted him and he said: Welcome unto righteous brother and righteous prophet. And when I passed by him he wept; and a voice was heard saying: What makes thee weep? He said: My Lord; he is a young man whom Thou hast sent after me as a prophet and his followers will enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers. Then we travelled on till we reached the seventh heaven and I came to Ibrahim. He the narrator narrat- ed in this hadith that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ told that he saw four rivers which flowed from the root of the lote-tree of the farthest limits : two manifest rivers and two hidden rivers. I said: Gabriel! what are these rivers? He replied: The two hidden rivers are the rivers of Paradise; and as regards the two manifest ones; they are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then the Bait AlMamur was raised up to me. I said: O Gabriel! what is this? He replied: It is the Bait AlMamur. Seventy thousand angels enter into it daily and; after they come out; they never return again. Two vessels were then brought to me. The first one contained wine and the second one contained milk; and both of them were placed before me. I chose milk. It was said: You did right. Allah will guide rightly through you your Ummah on the natural course. Then fifty prayers daily were made obligatory for me. And then he narrated the rest of the hadith to the end. SahihMuslim-017-001-20770		Abdullah Bin Samit reported that Abu Dharr said: Son of my brother; I used to observe prayer two years before the advent of Allah Apostle ﷺ. I said: To which direction did you turn your face? He said: To which Allah directed me to turn my face. SahihMuslim-017-001-20903		Abu Nawfal reported: I saw the dead body of Abdullah Bin AlZubair hanging on the road of Medina leading to Mecca. The Quraish passed by it and other people too; that Abdullah Bin Umar happened to pass by it. He stood up there and said: May there be peace upon you; Abu Khubaib the Kunya of Hadrat Abdullah Bin AlZubair ; may there be peace upon you Abu Khubaib; may there be peace upon you; Abu Khubaib! By Allah; I used to forbid you from this; by Allah; I used to forbid you from this; by Allah I used to forbid you from this. By Allah; so far as I know; you had been very much devoted to fasting and prayer and you had been paying very much care to cementing the ties of blood. By Allah; the group to which you belong are labelled as a wicked person is indeed a fine group. Then Abdullah Bin Umar went away. The stand Abdullah Bin Umar took in regard to the inhuman treatment meted out to Abdullah Bin AlZubair and his words in that connection were conveyed to AlHajjaj Bin Yousif and as a consequence of that he the body of Abdullah Bin AlZubair was brought down from the stump the scaffold by which it was hanging and thrown into the graves of the Jews. He AlHajjaj sent his messenger to Asma bint Abu Bakr; Abdullah mother. But she refused to come. He again sent the messenger to her with the message that she must come; otherwise he would bring her forcibly catching hold of her hair. But she again refused and said: By Allah; I will not come to you until you send one to me who would drag me by pulling my hair. Thereupon he said: Bring me my shoes. He put on his shoes and walked on quickly swollen with vanity and pride until he came to her and said: How do you find what I have done with the enemy of Allah? She said: I find that you wronged him in this world; whereas he has spoiled your next life. It has been conveyed to me that you used to call him Abdullah Bin AlZubair as the son of one having two belts. By Allah; I am indeed a woman of two belts. One is that with the help of which I used to suspend high the food of Allah Messenger ﷺ and that of Abu Bakr making it out of the reach of animals and; so far as the second belt is concerned; that is the belt which no woman can dispense with. Verily Allah Messenger ﷺ told us that in Thaqif; there would be born a great liar and great murderer. The liar we have seen; and as far as the murderer is concerned; I do not find anyone else besides you. Thereupon he AlHajjaj stood up and did not give any reply to her. SahihMuslim-017-001-21210		Ibn Abbas Allah be pleased with them reported: Mention was made of lian in the presence of Allah Messenger ﷺ. And Aasi m Bin Adi passed a remark about it and then turned away; and a man of his tribe came to him complaining that he had found a man with his wife; whereupon Aasi m said: I have been taken by my words. He took him to Allah Messenger ﷺ and told him about the man whom he had found with his wife and this man was a lean; yellow-coloured man with lank hair; and the person who was accused of committing adultery with her his wife had fleshy shanks; with wheat complexion and heavy bulk. Allah Messenger ﷺ said: O Allah; make this case manifest. And as she gave birth to a child; whose face resembled that person about whom her husband had made mention that he had found her with; and Allah Messenger may peace be; upon him had asked them to invoke curses. A person said to Ibn Abbas Allah be pleased with him : Is she that woman about whom Allah Messenger may peace be upen him said : If I were to stone anybody without evidence; I would have stoned her? Ibn Abbas Allah be pleased with him said: No; it is not she. That woman was one who openly spread evil in society. SahihMuslim-017-001-21863		Sulaiman Bin Buraida narrated on the authority of his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach them when they went out to the graveyard. One of the narrators used to say this in the narration transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr: Peace be upon the inhabitants of the city i. e. graveyard. In the hadith transmitted by Zuhair the words are : Peace be upon you; the inhabitants of the city; among the believers; and Muslims; and God willing we shall join you. He was settling some matter between them so when he was finished; some of them stood up with him and they were saying: O Messenger of Allah. He said: When you pray; make your rows straight and let one of you lead you in prayer. When the Imam says the takbir; then say the takbir. When he recites Not the way of those who earned Your anger; nor those who went astray then say: Amin and Allah will answer you. When he says the takbir and bows; then say the takbir and bow. The Imam bows before you do and stands up before you do. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: This makes up for that. And when he says: Sami Allahu liman hamidah Allah hears the one who praises Him ; then say: Allahumma Rabbana wa lakal-hamd O Allah; our Lord; and to You be the praise ; Allah will hear you; for Allah has said on the lips of His Prophet ﷺ : Allah hears the one who praises Him. And when he the Imam says the takbir and prostrates; then say the takbir and prostrate. The Imam prostrates before you do and sits up before you do. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: This makes up for that. He then gave him a long wrapper dyed with saffron or wars and he wrapped himself in it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then raised his hands and said: O Allah; bestow Thy blessings and mercy on the family of Saad Ibn Ubadah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then shared their meals. When he intended to return; Saad brought near him an ass which was covered with a blanket. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted it. Saad said: O Qays; accompany the Messenger of Allah. Qays said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Ride. But I refused. He again said: Either ride or go away. He said: So I went away. Hisham said: Abu Marwan transmitted from Muhammad Ibn Abdulrahman Ibn Asad Ibn Zurarah.Abu Dawud said: Umar Bin Abd AlWahid and Ibn Samaah transmitted it from AlAwzai in mursal form the ling of the Companion being missing ; and they did not mention Qais Bin Sad. He said: Do not say On you be peace; for On you be peace is a greeting for the dead; but say Peace be upon you. I asked: You are the Messenger of Allah may peace be upon you ? He said: I am the Messenger of Allah Whom you call when a calamity befalls you and He removes it; when you suffer from drought and you call Him; He grows food for you; and when you are in a desolate land or in a desert and your camel strays and you call Him; He returns it to you. I said: Give me some advice. He said: Do not abuse anyone. He said that he did not abuse a freeman; or a slave; or a camel or a sheep thenceforth. He said: Do not look down upon any good work; and when you speak to your brother; show him a cheerful face. This is a good work. Have your lower garment halfway down your shin; if you cannot do it; have it up to the ankles. Beware of trailing the lower garment; for it is conceit and Allah does not like conceit. And if a man abuses and shames you for something which he finds in you; then do not shame him for something which you find in him; he will bear the evil consequences for it. Which of you is the speaker of such and such words? The people remained silent. He said: You might have said them; Hittan. He replied: I did not say them. I was afraid you might punish me. One of the people said: I said them and I did not intend by them anything except good. Abu Mousa said: Do you not know how you utter them in your prayer? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us; and taught us and explained to us our way of doing and taught us our prayer. He said: When you pray a congregational prayer; straighten your rows; then one of you should lead you in prayer. When he says the takbir Allah is Most Great ; say the takbir; and when he recites verses Not of those upon whom is Thy anger; nor of those who err i.e. the end of Surah i. ; say Amin; Allah will favour you. When he says Allah is most great; and bows; say Allah is most great and bow; for the imam will bow before you; and will raise his head before you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is for that. When he says Allah listens to the one who praises Him; say: O Allah; our Lord; to Thee be praise; Allah be praised; Allah will listen to you; for Allah; the Exalted; said by the tongue of His Prophet ﷺ : Allah listens to the one who praises Him. When he says Allah is most great and prostrates; say: Allah is most great and prostrate; for the imam prostrates before you and raises his head before you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is for that. When he sits; each one of you should say The adorations of the tongue; all good things; and acts of worship are due to Allah. I was about to rush up to him but I granted him a respite until he had finished his prayer. Then I grabbed him by his cloak and took him to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and said; Messenger of Allah; I heard this man reciting Surat AlFurqan differently from the way you recited it to me. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Let him go. Then he said; Recite; Hisham; and Hisham recited as I had heard him recite. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; It was sent down like that. Then he said to me; Recite and I recited the sura; and he said; It was sent down like that. This Quran was sent down in seven different ways; so recite from it whatever is easy for you. The Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; began to turn away from him and give his attention to the other man; and he said to him; Father of so-and-so; do you see any harm in what I am saying? and he said; No; by the blood of our sacrifices I see no harm in what you are saying. MuwataMalik-017-001-34246		Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Ibn Aslam from his father that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was on one of his journeys; and one night Umar Ibn AlKhattab; who was travelling with him; asked him about something; but he did not answer him. He asked him again; but he did not answer him. Then he asked him again; and again he did not answer him. Umar said; May your mother be bereaved of you; Umar. Three times you have importuned the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; with a question and he has not answered you at all. Umar continued; I got my camel moving until; when I was in front of the people; I feared that a piece of Quran was being sent down about me. It was not long before I heard a crier calling for me; and I said that I feared that a piece of Quran had been sent down about me. He continued; I came to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and said; Peace be upon you to him; and he said; A Surat has been sent down to me this night that is more beloved to me than anything on which the sun rises. A man behind him said; Our Lord; praise belongs to you - blessed; pure and abundant praise Rabbana wa lakal hamd; hamdan kathiran tayiban mubarakan fihi. Then when the sun reaches the meridian the horn joins it and when the sun declines the horn leaves it; and when the sun has nearly set it joins it again. He stood; and did so for a long time. Then he went into ruku; and made the ruku long. Then he stood again; and did so for a long time; though not as long as the first time. Then he went into ruku; and made the ruku long; though not as long as thefirst time. Then he rose; and went down into sajda. He then did the same in the second raka; and by the time he had finished the sun had appeared. He then gave a khutba to the people; in which he praised Allah and then said; The sun and the moon are two of Allah signs. They do not eclipse for anyone death nor for anyone life. When you see an eclipse; call on Allah and say; Allah is greater and give sadaqa. Then he said; O community of Muhammad! ByAllah; there is no-one more jealous than Allah of a male or female slave of his who commits adultery. O community of Muhammad! MuwataMalik-017-001-34300		Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from Amra bint Abdulrahman from Aisha; the wife of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; that a jewish woman came to beg from her and said; May Allah give you refuge from the punishment of the grave. So Aisha asked the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; Are people punished in their graves?; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; took refuge in Allah from that. Then one morning the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; went out on a journey and there was an eclipse of the sun; and he returned in the late morning and passed through his apartments. Then he stood and prayed; and the people stood behind him. He stood for a long time; and then went into ruku for a long time. Then he rose and stood for a long time; though less than the first time; and then went into ruku for a long time; though less than the first time. Then he rose; and went down into sajda. Then he stood for a long time; though less than the time before; and then went into ruku for a long time; though less than the time before. Then he rose and stood for a long time; though less than the time before; and then went into ruku for a long time; though less than the time before. Then he rose; and went down into sajda. When he had finished he said what Allah willed him to say; and then he told them to seek protection for themselves from the punishment of the grave. MuwataMalik-017-001-34301		Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from Fatima bint AlMundhir that Asma bint Abi Bakr AlSiddiq said; I went to Aisha; the wife of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; during an eclipse of the sun; and everybody was standing in prayer; and she too was standing praying. I said; What is everybody doing? She pointed towards the sky with her hand and said; Glory be to Allah. I said; A sign? She nodded Yes with her head. She continued; I stood until I had almost fainted; and I began to pour water over my head. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; praised Allah and spoke well of Him; and then said; There is nothing which I had previously not seen beforehand that I have not now seen while standing - even the Garden and the Fire. It has been revealed to me that you will be tried in your graves with a trial; like; or near to; the trial of the Dajjal I do not know which one Asma said. Every one of you will have someone who comes to him and asks him; What do you know about this man? A mumin; or one who has certainty muqin I do not know which one Asma said ; will say; He is Muhammad; the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; who came to us with clear proofs and guidance; and we answered and believed and followed. He will then be told; Sleep in a good state. We know now that you were a mumin. A hypocrite; however; or one who has doubts l do not know which one Asma said ; will say; I do not know; I heard everybody saying something and I said it. I dont know how to deal with these lavatories.
