That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!
Surat AlMaidah Ayah 64Surat AlMaidah-0.23112وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ يَدُ اللَّهِ مَغْلُولَةٌ غُلَّتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَلُعِنُوا بِمَا قَالُوا بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ يُنْفِقُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا وَأَلْقَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ كُلَّمَا أَوْقَدُوا نَارًا لِلْحَرْبِ أَطْفَأَهَا اللَّهُ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَThe Jews say: "Allah's hand is tied up." Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for the (blasphemy) they utter. Nay, both His hands are widely outstretched: He giveth and spendeth (of His bounty) as He pleaseth. But the revelation that cometh to thee from Allah increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. Amongst them we have placed enmity and hatred till the Day of Judgment. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief on earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief.

They change the words from their (right) times and places: they say, "If ye are given this, take it, but if not, beware!" If any one's trial is intended by Allah, thou hast no authority in the least for him against Allah. For such - it is not Allah's will to purify their hearts. For them there is disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a heavy punishment.

If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe.

Surat AlBaqara Ayah 113Surat AlBaqara0.01787وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ لَيْسَتِ النَّصَارَى عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى لَيْسَتِ الْيَهُودُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَهُمْ يَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ فَاللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَThe Jews say: "The Christians have naught (to stand) upon; and the Christians say: "The Jews have naught (To stand) upon." Yet they (Profess to) study the (same) Book. Like unto their word is what those say who know not; but Allah will judge between them in their quarrel on the Day of Judgment.

By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the prophets who bowed (as in Islam) to Allah's will, by the rabbis and the doctors of law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear me, and sell not my signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) Unbelievers.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1104Narrated Abu Huraira: A man from the Muslims and a man from the Jews quarrelled; and the Muslim said; By Him Who gave superiority to Muhammad over all the people! The Jew said; By Him Who gave superiority to Moses over all the people! On that the Muslim lifted his hand and slapped the Jew. The Jew went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and informed him of all that had happened between him and the Muslim. The Prophet ﷺ said; Do not give me superiority over Moses; for the people will fall unconscious on the Day of Resurrection; I will be the first to regain consciousness and behold; Moses will be standing there; holding the side of the Throne. I will not know whether he has been one of those who have fallen unconscious and then regained consciousness before me; or if he has been one of those exempted by Allah from falling unconscious. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1174Narrated Ibn Umar: A Jew and Jewess were brought to the Prophet ﷺ on a charge of committing an illegal sexual intercourse. The Prophet ﷺ asked the Jews; What do you usually do with them? They said; We blacken their faces and disgrace them. He said; Bring here the Torah and recite it; if you are truthful. They fetched it and came and asked a one-eyed man to recite. He went on reciting till he reached a portion on which he put his hand. The Prophet ﷺ said; Lift up your hand! He lifted his hand up and behold; there appeared the verse of AlRajm stoning of the adulterers to death. Then he said; O Muhammad! They should be stoned to death but we conceal this Divine Law among ourselves. Then the Prophet ﷺ ordered that the two sinners be stoned to death and; and they were stoned to death; and I saw the man protecting the woman from the stones. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1289Narrated Abu Laila Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Bin Sahl: Sahl Bin Abi Hathma and some great men of his tribe said; Abdullah Bin Sahl and Muhaiyisa went out to Khaibar as they were struck with poverty and difficult living conditions. Then Muhaiyisa was informed that Abdullah had been killed and thrown in a pit or a spring. Muhaiyisa went to the Jews and said; By Allah; you have killed my companion. The Jews said; By Allah; we have not killed him. Muhaiyisa then came back to his people and told them the story. He; his elder brother Huwaiyisa and Abdulrahman Bin Sahl came to the Prophet and he who had been at Khaibar; proceeded to speak; but the Prophet ﷺ said to Muhaiyisa; The eldest! The eldest! meaning; Let the eldest of you speak. So Huwaiyisa spoke first and then Muhaiyisa. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; The Jews should either pay the blood money of your deceased companion or be ready for war. After that Allah Messenger ﷺ wrote a letter to the Jews in that respect; and they wrote that they had not killed him. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said to Huwaiyisa; Muhaiyisa and Abdulrahman Can you take an oath by which you will be entitled to take the blood money? They said; No. He said to them ; Shall we ask the Jews to take an oath before you? They replied; But the Jews are not Muslims. So Allah Apostle gave them one-hundred camels as blood money from himself. Then he admitted them and when they came in ; he said; What do you think of AlQasama? They said; We say that it is lawful to depend on AlQasama in Qisas; as the previous Muslim Caliphs carried out Qisas depending on it. Then he said to me; O Abu Qilaba! What do you say about it? He said; No. I said; If fifty of them testified that a man had committed theft in Hums; would you cut off his hand though they did not see him? He replied; No. I said; By Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: 1 A person who killed somebody unjustly; was killed in Qisas; 2 a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and 3 a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate. Then the people said; Didnt Anas Bin Malik narrate that Allah Messenger ﷺ cut off the hands of the thieves; branded their eyes and then; threw them in the sun? I said; I shall tell you the narration of Anas. Anas said: Eight persons from the tribe of Ukl came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and gave the Pledge of allegiance for Islam became Muslim. The climate of the place Medina did not suit them; so they became sick and complained about that to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said to them ; Wont you go out with the shepherd of our camels and drink of the camels milk and urine as medicine ? They said; Yes. So they went out and drank the camels milk and urine; and after they became healthy; they killed the shepherd of Allah Messenger ﷺ and took away all the camels. This news reached Allah Messenger ﷺ ; so he sent men to follow their traces and they were captured and brought to the Prophet. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet; and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron; and then he threw them in the sun till they died. I said; What can be worse than what those people did? They deserted Islam; committed murder and theft. Then Anbasa Bin Saeed said; By Allah; I never heard a narration like this of today. I said; O Anbasa! You deny my narration? Anbasa said; No; but you have related the narration in the way it should be related. By Allah; these people are in welfare as long as this Sheikh Abu Qilaba is among them. I added; Indeed in this event there has been a tradition set by Allah Messenger ﷺ. The narrator added: Some Ansari people came to the Prophet ﷺ and discussed some matters with him; a man from amongst them went out and was murdered. Those people went out after him; and behold; their companion was swimming in blood. They returned to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said to him; O Allah Apostle; we have found our companion who had talked with us and gone out before us; swimming in blood killed. Allah Messenger ﷺ went out and asked them; Whom do you suspect or whom do you think has killed him? They said; We think that the Jews have killed him. The Prophet ﷺ sent for the Jews and asked them; Did you kill this person ? They replied; No. He asked the AlAnsars; Do you agree that I let fifty Jews take an oath that they have not killed him? They said; It matters little for the Jews to kill us all and then take false oaths. He said; Then would you like to receive the Diya after fifty of you have taken an oath that the Jews have killed your man ? They said; We will not take the oath. Then the Prophet ﷺ himself paid them the Diya Blood-money. The narrator added; The tribe of Hudhail repudiated one of their men for his evil conduct in the Pre-lslamic period of Ignorance. Then; at a place called AlBatha near Mecca ; the man attacked a Yemenite family at night to steal from them; but a. man from the family noticed him and struck him with his sword and killed him. The tribe of Hudhail came and captured the Yemenite and brought him to Umar during the Hajj season and said; He has killed our companion. The Yemenite said; But these people had repudiated him i.e.; their companion. Umar said; Let fifty persons of Hudhail swear that they had not repudiated him. So forty-nine of them took the oath and then a person belonging to them; came from Sham and they requested him to swear similarly; but he paid one-thousand Dirhams instead of taking the oath. They called another man instead of him and the new man shook hands with the brother of the deceased. Some people said; We and those fifty men who had taken false oaths AlQasama set out; and when they reached a place called Nakhlah; it started raining so they entered a cave in the mountain; and the cave collapsed on those fifty men who took the false oath; and all of them died except the two persons who had shaken hands with each other. They escaped death but a stone fell on the leg of the brother of the deceased and broke it; whereupon he survived for one year and then died. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1780Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: A Jew whose face had been slapped by someone ; came to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Muhammad! A man from your Ansari companions slapped me. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1785Narrated Abu Huraira: While we were in the Masjid; Allah Messenger ﷺ came out to us and said; Let us proceed to the Jews. So we went along with him till we reached Bait AlMidras a place where the Torah used to be recited and all the Jews of the town used to gather. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1927Narrated Urwa-bin AlZubair: Usama Bin Zaid said; The Prophet ﷺ rode over a donkey with a saddle underneath which there was a thick soft Fadakiya velvet sheet. Usama Bin Zaid was his companion rider; and he was going to pay a visit to Saad Bin Ubada who was sick at the dwelling place of Bani AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj; and this incident happened before the battle of Badr. The Prophet ﷺ passed by a gathering in which there were Muslims and pagan idolators and Jews; and among them there was Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul; and there was Abdullah Bin Rawaha too. When a cloud of dust raised by the animal covered that gathering; Abdullah Bin Ubai covered his nose with his Rida sheet and said to the Prophet ; Dont cover us with dust. The Prophet ﷺ greeted them and then stopped; dismounted and invited them to Allah i.e.; to embrace Islam and also recited to them the Holy Quran. Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul said; O man! There is nothing better than what you say; if what you say is the truth. So do not trouble us in our gatherings. Go back to your mount or house; and if anyone of us comes to you; tell your tales to him. On that Abdullah Bin Rawaha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Come to us and bring it what you want to say in our gatherings; for we love that. So the Muslims; the pagans and the Jews started quarreling till they were about to fight and clash with one another. The Prophet ﷺ kept on quietening them till they all became quiet. He then rode his animal; and proceeded till he entered upon Saad Bin Ubada; he said; O Sad; didnt you hear what Abu Habbab said? He meant Abdullah Bin Ubai. He said so-and-so. Saad Bin Ubada said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Excuse and forgive him; for by Allah; Allah has given you what He has given you. The people of this town decided to crown him as their chief and make him their king. But when Allah prevented that with the Truth which He had given you; it choked him; and that was what made him behave in the way you saw him behaving. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2221Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: The Prophet ﷺ said; The planet of earth will be a bread on the Day of Resurrection; and The resistible Allah will topple turn it with His Hand like anyone of you topple turns a bread with his hands while preparing the bread for a journey; and that bread will be the entertainment for the people of Paradise. A man from the Jews came to the Prophet and said; May The Beneficent Allah bless you; O Abul Qasim! Shall I tell you of the entertainment of the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection? The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes. The Jew said; The earth will be a bread; as the Prophet ﷺ had said. Thereupon the Prophet ﷺ looked at us and smiled till his premolar tooth became visible. Then the Jew further said; Shall I tell you of the udm additional food taken with bread they will have with the bread? He added; That will be Balam and Nun. The people asked; What is that? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2475Narrated Usama Bin Zaid: The Prophet ﷺ rode a donkey having a saddle with a Fadakiya velvet covering. He mounted me behind him and went to visit Saad Bin Ubada; and that had been before the battle of Badr. The Prophet ﷺ proceeded till he passed by a gathering in which Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul was present; and that had been before Abdullah embraced Islam. The gathering comprised of Muslims; polytheists; i.e.; isolators and Jews. Abdullah Bin Rawaha was also present in that gathering. When dust raised by the donkey covered the gathering; Abdullah Bin Ubai covered his nose with his upper garment and said; Do not trouble us with dust. The Prophet ﷺ greeted them; stopped and dismounted. Then he invited them to Allah i.e.; to embrace Islam and recited to them some verses of the Holy Quran. On that; Abdullah Bin Ubai said; O man ! There is nothing better than what you say if it is true. Do not trouble us with it in our gathering; but return to your house; and if somebody comes to you; teach him there. On that Abdullah Bin Rawaha said; Yes; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Bring your teachings to our gathering; for we love that. So the Muslims; the pagans and the Jews started abusing each other till they were about to fight. The Prophet ﷺ kept on quietening them till they became calm. Thereupon the Prophet mounted his animal and proceeded till he entered upon Saad Bin Ubada. He said to him O Sad! Have you not heard what Abu Hubab i.e.; Abdullah Bin Ubai said? Saad said; O Allah Apostle! Excuse and forgive him; for Allah has given you what He has given you. Abdullah Bin Sahl was killed. They accused the Jews for this act. And there came to Allah Apostle ﷺ his brother the brother of the slain person Abdulrahman and his cousins Huwayisa and Muhayisa; and Abdulrahman talked to him about the matter pertaining to the murder of his brother; and he was the youngest among them. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Show regard for the greatness of the old; or he said: Let the eldest begin speaking. Then they Huwayisa and Muhayisa spoke about the matter of their companion murder of their cousin; Abdullah Bin Sahl. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Let fifty persons among you take oath for levelling the charge of murder against a person amongst them; and he would be surrendered to you. They said: We have not witnessed this matter ourselves. How can we then take oath? He the Holy Prophet said: The Jews will exonerate themselves by the oaths of fifty of them. They said: Messenger of Allah; they are non-believing people. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ paid the blood wit for him. SahihMuslim-017-001-17299Bushair Bin Yasar reported that Abdullah Bin Sahl Bin Zaid and Muhayisa Bin Masud Bin Zaid; both of them were Ansar belonging to the tribe of Banu Haritha; set out to Khaibar during the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ. There was peace during those days and this place was inhabited by the Jews. They parted company for their respective needs. Abdullab Bin Sahl was killed; and his dead body was found in a tank. His companion Muhayisa buried him and came to Medina; and the brothers of the slain Abdulrahman Bin Sahl. and Muhayisa and Huwayisa told Allah Messenger ﷺ the case of Abdullah and the place where he had been murdered. Bushair reported on the authority of one who had seen Allah Messenger ﷺ that he had said to them: You take fifty oaths and you are entitled to blood-wit of one slain among you or your companion. They said: Messenger of Allah; we neither saw with our own eyes this murder nor were we present there. Thereupon Allah Messenger is reported to have said : Then the Jews will exonerate themselves by taking fifty oaths. They said: Allah Messenger; how can we accept the oath of unbelieving people? SahihMuslim-017-001-17302Abu Laila Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Bin Sahl reported that the elderly persons of the tribe had informed Sahl Bin Abu Hathma that Abdullah Bin Sahl and Muhayisa went out to Khaibar under some distress which had afflicted them. Muhayisa came and informed that Abdutlah Bin Sahl had been killed; and his dead body had been thrown in a well or in a ditch. He came to the Jews and said: By Allah; it is you who have killed him. They said: By Allah; we have not killed him. He then came to his people; and made mention of that to them. Then came he and his brother Huwayisa; and he was older than he; and Abdulrahman Bin Sahl. Then Muhayisa went to speak; and it was he who had accompanied Abdullah to Khaibar; whereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said to Muhayisa: Observe greatness of the great he meant the seniority of age. Then Huwayisa spoke and then Muhayisa also spoke. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: They should either pay blood-wit for your companion; or be prepared for war. Allah Messenger ﷺ wrote about it to them to the Jews. They wrote: Verily; by Allah; we have not killed him. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said to Huwayisa and Muhayisa and Abdulrahman Are you prepared to take oath in order to entitle yourselves for the blood-wit of your companion? They said: No. He the Holy Prophet said: Then the Jews will take oath of their innocence. They said: They are not Muslims. SahihMuslim-017-001-17318Anas Bin Malik reported: A girl was found with her head crushed between two stones. They asked her as to who had done that-has so and so done it until they mentioned a Jew. She indicated with the nod of her head that it was so. So the Jew was caught; and he made confession of his guilt. SahihMuslim-017-001-17390Abdullah Bin Umar reported that a Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ who had committed adultery. Allah Messenger ﷺ came to the Jews and said: What do you find in Torah for one who commits adultery? They said: We darken their faces and make them ride on the donkey with their faces turned to the opposite direction and their backs touching each other ; and then they are taken round the city. He said: Bring Torah if you are truthful. They brought it and recited it until when they came to the verse pertaining to stoning; the person who was reading placed his hand on the verse pertaining to stoning; and read only that which was between his hands and what was subsequent to that. Abdullah Bin Salim who was at that time with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Command him the reciter to lift his hand. He lifted it and there was; underneath that; the verse pertaining to stoning. Allah Messenger ﷺ pronounced judgment about both of them and they were stoned. SahihMuslim-017-001-17393AlBara Bin Azib reported: There happened to pass by Allah Apostle ﷺ a Jew blackened and lashed. Allah Apostle ﷺ called them the Jews and said: Is this the punishment that you find in your Book Torah as a prescribed punishment for adultery? They said: Yes. He the Holy Prophet called one of the scholars amongst them and said: I ask you in the name of Allah Who sent down the Torah on Moses if that is the prescribed punishment for adultery that you find in your Book. He said: No. Had you not asked me in the name of Allah; I would not have given you this information. We find stoning to death as punishment prescribed in the Torah. But this crime became quite common amongst our aristocratic class. So when we caught hold of any rich person indulging in this offence we spared him; but when we caught hold of a helpless person we imposed the prescribed punishment upon him. We then said: Let us argree on a punishment which we can inflict both upon the rich and the poor. So We decided to blacken the face with coal and flog as a substitute punishment for stoning. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: O Allah; I am the first to revive Thy command when they had made it dead. He then commanded and he the offender was stoned to death. Allah; the Majestic and Glorious; sent down this verse : O Messenger; the behaviour of those who vie with one another in denying the truth should not grieve you... up to is vouchsafed unto you; accept it v. 41 2176 It was said by the Jews : Go to Muhammad; it he commands you to blacken the face and award flogging as punishment for adultery ; then accept it; but it he gives verdict for stoning; then avoid it. It was then that Allah; the Majestic and Great; sent down these verses : And they who do not judge in accordance with what Allah has revealed are; indeed; deniers of the truth v. 44 ; And they who do not judge in accordance with what Allah has revealed-they; they indeed are the wrongdoers v. 45 ; And they who do not judge in accordance with what God has revealed-they are the iniquitous v. 47. SahihMuslim-017-001-17703It has been reported on the authority of Abu Mousa who said: I went to the Prophet ﷺ and with me were two men from the Ashari tribe. One of them was on my right hand and the other on my left. Both of them made a request for a position of authority while the Prophet ﷺ was brushing his teeth with a tooth-stick. He said to me : Abu Mousa or Abdullah Bin Qais ; what do you say about the request they have made ? I said: By God Who sent thee on thy mission with truth; they did not disclose to me what they had in their minds; and I did not know that they would ask for a position. The narrator says while recalling this hadith : I visualise as if I were looking at the miswak of the Prophet ﷺ between his lips. He the Holy Prophet said: We shall not or shall never appoint to the public offices in our State those who with to have them; but you may go; Abu Mousa or Abdullah Bin Qais to take up your assignment. He sent him to Yemen as governor. then he sent Muadh Bin jabal in his wake to help him in the discharge of duties. When Muadh reached the camp of Abu Mousa; the latter received him and said: Please get yourself down; and he spread for him a mattress; while there was a man bound hand and foot as a prisoner. Muadh said: Who is this? Abu Mousa said: He was a Jew. He embraced Islam. Then he reverted to his false religion and became a Jew. Muadh said: I wont sit until he is killed according to the decree of Allah and His Apostle ﷺ in this case. Abu Mousa said: Be seated. It will be done. He said: I wont sit unless he is killed in accordance with the decree of Allah and His Apostle ﷺ. He repeated these words thrice. Then Abu Mousa ordered him to be killed and he was kilied. Then the two talked of standing in prayer at night. One of them; i. e. SahihMuslim-017-001-18054It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira who said: We were sitting in the Masjid when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and said: Let us go to the Jews. They said: Ab AlQasim; you have communicated God Message to us. When the dust raised by the hoofs of the animal spread over the company; Abdullah Bin Ubay covered his nose with his mantle and said: Do not scatter the dust over us Not minding this remark ; the Prophet ﷺ greeted them; stopped; got down from his animal; invited them to Allah; and recited to them the Quran. Abdullah Bin Ubay said: O man; if what you say is the truth; the best thing for you would be not to bother us with it in our assemblies. Get back to your place. Whoso comes to you from us; tell him all this. Abdullah Bin Rawaha said: Come to us in our gatherings; for we love to hear it. The narrator says: At this ; the Muslims; the polytheists and the Jews began to rebuke one another until they were determined to come to blows. The Prophet ﷺ continued to pacify them. When they were pacified ; he rode his animal and came to Saad Bin Ubida. He said: Sad; havent you heard what Abu Hubab meaning Abdullah Bin Ubay has said? He has said so and so. Saad said: Messenger of Allah; forgive and pardon. God has granted you a sublime position; but so far as he is concerned the people of this settlement had-decided to make him their king by making him wear a crown and a turban in token thereof ; but God has circumvented this by the truth He has granted you. This has made him jealous and his jealousy must have prompted the behaviour that you have witnessed. SahihMuslim-017-001-20231Aisha reported: that a Jew from among the Jews of Banu Zuraiq who was called Labid Bin AlAsam cast a spell upon Allah Messenger ﷺ with the result that he under the influence of the spell felt that he had been doing something whereas in fact he had not been doing that. This state of affairs lasted until one day or during one night Allah Messenger ﷺ made supplication to dispel its effects. He again made a supplication and he again did this and said to Aisha: Do you know that Allah has told me what I had asked Him? There came to me two men and one amongst them sat near my head and the other one near my feet and he who sat near my head said to one who sat near my feet or one who sat near my feet said to one who sat near my head: What is the trouble with the man? He said: The spell has affected him. He said: Who has cast that? He the other one said: It was Labid Bin Asam who has done it. He said: What is the thing by which he transmitted its effect? He said: By the comb and by the hair stuck to the comb and the spathe of the date-palm. He said: Where is that? He replied: In the well of Dhi Arwan. She said: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent some of the persons from among his Companions there and then said: Aisha; by Allah; its water was yellow like henna and its trees were like heads of the devils. She said that she asked Allah Messenger ﷺ as to why he did not burn that. Then he and Huwaysah - his brother who was older than him - and Abdulrahman Bin Sahl; came to the Prophet. Muhaysah; who was the one who had been at Khaibar; began to speak; but the messenger of Allah said: Let the elder speak first; So Huwaysah elder speaks first. So Huwaysah spoke; then Muhaysah spoke. The Messenger of Allah said: Either the Jews will pay the Diyah for your comanion; or war will be declared on them. The Messenger of Allah sent a letter to that effect to the Jews and they wrote back saying: By Allah; we did not kill him. The Messenger of Allah said to Huwaysah. Muhaysah and Abdulrahman Will you swear an oath establishing your claim to the blood money of your companion? They said: No. He said: Should the jews swear an oath for you? They said: They are not Muslims. So the Messenger of Allah paid the Diyah himself; and he sent one hundred camels to their abodes. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24574Sahl Bin Sad said : Ali Bin Abi Talib entered upon Fatimah whileHassan and Husain were crying. He asked: Why are they crying? She replied: Due to hunger. Ali went out and found a dinar in the market. He then came to Fatima and told her about it. She said: Go to such and such a Jew and get some flour for us. He came to the Jew and purchased flour with it. He said : Are you the son-in-law of him who believes that he is the Messenger of Allah. He said : Yes. The Jew said : Have your dinar with you and you will get the flour. Ali then went out and came to Fatima. He told her about the matter. She then said: Go to such and such a butcher and get some meat for us for a dirham. Ali went out and pawned the dinar for a dirham with him and got the meat; and brought it to her. She then kneaded the flour; put the utensil on fire and baked the bread. She sent for her father : i.e. the Prophet SWAS. He came to them. She said to him : Messenger of Allah; I tell you all the matter. If you think it is lawful for us; we shall eat it and you will eat with us. She said: The matter is such and such. He said: eat in the name of Allah. So they ate it. While they were eating at their place; a boy cried adguring in the name of Allah and Islam: He was searching the dinar. The Messenger of Allah SWAS commanded and he was called in. He asked him. The boy replied; I lost it somewhere in the market. The Prophet SWAS said : Ali; go to the butcher and tell him that the Messenger of Allah SWAS has asked you : send the dinar to me and one dirham of yours will be due on me. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25003Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: Ibn Umar misunderstood the Quranic verse; So come to your tilth however you will -may Allah forgive him. The fact is that this clan of the Ansar; who were idolaters; lived in the company of the Jews who were the people of the Book. They the Ansar accepted their superiority over themselves in respect of knowledge; and they followed most of their actions. The people of the Book i.e. the Jews used to have intercourse with their women on one side alone i.e. lying on their backs. This was the most concealing position for the vagina of the women. This clan of the Ansar adopted this practice from them. But this tribe of the Quraysh used to uncover their women completely; and seek pleasure with them from in front and behind and laying them on their backs. When the muhajirun the immigrants came to Medina; a man married a woman of the Ansar. He began to do the same kind of action with her; but she disliked it; and said to him: We were approached on one side i.e. lying on the back ; do it so; otherwise keep away from me. This matter of theirs spread widely; and it reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So Allah; the Exalted; sent down the Quranic verse: Your wives are a tilth to you; so come to your tilth however you will; i.e. from in front; from behind or lying on the back. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25004Anas Bin Malik said Among the Jews when a woman menstruated; they did not eat with her and drink with her and did not associate with her in their houses; so the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ was questioned about it. Hence; Allah the Exalted revealed And they ask you about menstruation;. Say It is harmful; so keep aloof from women during menstruation till the end of the verse. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Associate with them in the houses and do everything except sexual intercourse. The Jews thereupon said This man does not leave anything we do without opposing us in it. Usaid Bin Hudair and Abbad Bin Bishr came to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ and said; Apostle of Allaah ﷺ the Jews are saying such and such. Shall we not have intercourse with them during their menstruation? The face of the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ underwent such a change that we thought he was angry with them; so they went out. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25737Narrated Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah and Rafi Bin Khadeej: Muhayasah Bin Masud and Abdullah Bin Sahl came to Khaibar and parted from each other among palm trees. Abdullah Bin Sahl was killed. The Jews were blamed for the murder. Abdulrahman Bin Sahl and Huwayasah and Muhayasah; the sons of his uncle Masud came to the Prophet ﷺ. Abdulrahman who was the youngest; spoke about his brother; but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Respect the elder; respect the elder or he said: Let the eldest begin. They then spoke about their friend and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Fifty of you should take oaths regarding a man from them the Jews and he should be entrusted to him with his rope in his neck. They said: It is a matter which we did not see. How can we take oaths ? He said: The Jews exonerate themselves by the oaths of fifty of them. They said: Messenger of Allah! they are a people who are infidels. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid them bloodwit himself. Sahl said: Once I entered the resting place of their camels; and the camel struck me with her lef. Hammad said this or something similar to it.Abu Dawud said: Another version transmitted by Yahya Bin Saeed has: Would you swear fifty oaths and make you claim regarding your friend or your slain man ? Bishr; the transmitter; did mention blood. Abdah transmitted it from Yahya as transmitted by Hammad. Ibn Uyainah has also transmitted it from Yahya; and began with his words: The Jew will exonerate themselves by fifty oaths which they will swear. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25738Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah and some senior men of the tribe told that Abdullah Bin Abi Sahl and Muhayasah came to Khaibar on account of the calamity i.e. famine that befall them. Muhayasah came and told the Abdullah Bin Sahl had been killed and thrown in a well or stream. He hen came to the Jews and said: I swear by Allah; you have killed him. They said: We swear by Allah; we have not killed him. He then proceeded and came to his tribe and mentioned this to them. Then he; his brother Huwayasah; who was older to him; and Abdulrahman Bin Sahl came forward to the Prophet. Muhayasah began to speak. It was he who was at Khaibar. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to him: Let the eldest speak ; let the eldest speak ; meaning age. So Huwayasah spoke; and after him Muhayasah spoke. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: They should either pay the bloodwit for you friend or they should be prepared for war. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to them about it. They wrote in reply : We swear by Allah; we have not killed him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to Huwayasah; Muhayasah and Abdulrahman Will you take an oath and thus have the claim to the blood of your friend ? They said: No. He the Prophet said: The Jews will then take an oath. They said: They are not Muslims. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself paid the bloodwit. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sent on one hundred camels and they were entered in their house. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26644Narrated AlBara Ibn Azib: The people passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a Jew who was blackened with charcoal and who was being flogged. He called them and said: Is this the prescribed punishment for a fornicator? They said: Yes. He then called on a learned man among them and asked him: I adjure you by Allah Who revealed the Torah to Moses; do you find this prescribed punishment for a fornicator in your divine Book? He said: By Allah; no. If you had not adjured me about this; I should not have informed you. We find stoning to be prescribed punishment for a fornicator in our Divine Book. But it fornication became frequent in our people of rank; so when we seized a person of rank; we left him alone; and when we seized a weak person; we inflicted the prescribed punishment on him. So we said: Come; let us agree on something which may be enforced equally on people of higher and lower rank. So we agreed to blacken the face of a criminal with charcoal; and flog him; and we abandoned stoning. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: O Allah; I am the first to give life to Thy command which they have killed. So he commanded regarding him the Jew and he was stoned to death. Allah Most High then sent down: O Apostle; let not those who race one another into unbelief; make thee grieve... up to They say: If you are given this; take it; but if not; beware!.... up to And if any do fail to judge by the light of what Allah hath revealed; they are no better than unbelievers; about Jews; up to And if any do fail to judge by the right of what Allah hath revealed; they are no better than wrong-doers about Jews: and revealed the verses up to And if any do fail to judge by the light of what Allah hath revealed; they are no better than those who rebel. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26646Narrated Abu Huraira: This is Mamar version which is more accurate. A man and a woman of the Jews committed fornication. Some of them said to the others: Let us go to this Prophet; for he has been sent with an easy law. If he gives a judgment lighter than stoning; we shall accept it; and argue about it with Allah; saying: It is a judgment of one of your prophets. So they came to the Prophet ﷺ who was sitting in the Masjid among his companions. They said: AbulQasim; what do you think about a man and a woman who committed fornication? He did not speak to them a word till he went to their school. He stood at the gate and said: I adjure you by Allah Who revealed the Torah to Moses; what punishment do you find in the Torah for a person who commits fornication; if he is married? They said: He shall be blackened with charcoal; taken round a donkey among the people; and flogged. A young man among them kept silent. When the Prophet ﷺ emphatically adjured him; he said: By Allah; since you have adjured us we inform you that we find stoning in the Torah is the punishment for fornication. The Prophet ﷺ said: So when did you lessen the severity of Allah command? He said: A relative of one of our kings had committed fornication; but his stoning was suspended. Then a man of a family of common people committed fornication. He was to have been stoned; but his people intervened and said: Our man shall not be stoned until you bring your man and stone him. So they made a compromise on this punishment between them. The Prophet ﷺ said: So I decide in accordance with what the Torah says. He then commanded regarding them and they were stoned to death. AlZuhri said: We have been informed that this verse was revealed about them: It was We Who revealed the Law to Moses : therein was guidance and light. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27475Narrated Abu Umayr Ibn Anas: Abu Umayr reported on the authority of his uncle who was from the Ansar the helpers of the Prophet : The Prophet ﷺ was anxious as to how to gather the people for prayer. The people told him: Hoist a flag at the time of prayer; when they see it; they will inform one another. But he the Prophet did not like it. Then someone mentioned to him the horn. Ziyad said: A horn of the Jews. He the Prophet did not like it. He said: This is the matter of the Jews. Then they mentioned to him the bell of the Christians. He said: This is the matter of the Christians. Abdullah Ibn Zayd returned anxiously from there because of the anxiety of the Apostle ﷺ. He was then taught the call to prayer in his dream. Next day he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about it. He said: Messenger of Allah; I was between sleep and wakefulness; all of a sudden a newcomer came to me and taught me the call to prayer. Umar Ibn AlKhattab had also seen it in his dream before; but he kept it hidden for twenty days. The Prophet ﷺ said to me Umar : What did prevent you from saying it to me? He said: Abdullah Ibn Zayd had already told you about it before me: hence I was ashamed. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Bilal; stand up; see what Abdullah Ibn Zayd tells you to do ; then do it. Bilal then called them to prayer. MuwataMalik-017-001-34691Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula. Malik said that Ibn Shihab said; Umar Ibn AlKhattab searched for information about that until he was absolutely convinced that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; had said; Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula; and he therefore expelled the jews from Khaybar. Malik said; Umar Ibn AlKhattab expelled the jews from Najran a jewish settlement in the Yemen and Fadak a jewish settlement thirty miles from Madina. When the jews of Khaybar left; they did not take any fruit or land. The jews of Fadak took half the fruit and half the land; because the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; had made a settlement with them for that. Muhayisa returned and said that Abdullah Ibn Sahl had been killed and thrown in a shallow well or spring. The jews came and he said; By Allah! You have killed him. They said; By Allah! We have not killed him! Then he made for his people and mentioned that to them. Then he; his brother Huwayisa; who was older than him; and Abdulrahman set out. Muhayisa began to speak; as he had been at Khaybar. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said to him; The greater first; the greater first; meaning in age. So Huwayisa spoke and then Muhayisa spoke. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Either they pay your companion blood-money or we will declare war against them. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; wrote that to them and they wrote; By Allah; we did not kill him! The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said to Huwayisa; Muhayisa; and Abdulrahman Do you swear and claim the blood of your companion? They said; No. He said; Shall the jews swear to you? They said; But they are not muslims. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave blood-money from his own property; and sent them one hundred camels to their house. MuwataMalik-017-001-34824Malik related to me that he had heard that Abdullah Ibn Umar was asked whether a slave could be bought on the specific condition that it was to be used to fulfil the obligation of freeing a slave; and he said; No. Malik said; That is the best of what I have heard on the obligation of freeing slaves. Someone who has to set a slave free because of an obligation on him; may not buy one on the condition that he sets it free because if he does that; whatever he buys is not completely a slave because he has reduced its price by the condition he has made of setting it free. Malik added; There is no harm; however; in someone buying a person expressly to set him free. Malik said; The best of what I have heard on the obligation of freeing slaves is that it is not permitted to free a christian or a jew to fulfil it; and one does not free a mukatab or a mudabbar or an umm walad or a slave to be freed after a certain number of years; or a blind person. There is no harm in freeing a christian; jew; or magian voluntarily; because Allah; the Blessed; the Exalted; said in His Book; either as a favour then or by ransom; Surat 47 ayat 4 The favour is setting free. Malik said; As for obligations of freeing slaves which Allah has mentioned in the Book; one only frees a mumin slave for them. Malik said; It is like that in feeding poor people for kaffara. MuwataMalik-017-001-34839Malik related to me that he had asked Ibn Shihab about a slave who was released. He said; He gives his wala to whomever he likes. If he dies and has not given his wala to anyone; his inheritance goes to the muslims and his blood-money is paid by them. Malik said; The best of what has been heard about a slave who is released is that no one gets his wala; and his inheritance goes to the muslims; and they pay his blood-money. Malik said that when the slave of a jew or christian became muslim and he was freed before being sold; the wala of the freed slave went to the muslims. If the jew or christian became muslim afterwards; the wala did not revert to him. He said; However; if a jew or christian frees a slave from their own deen; and then the freed one becomes muslim before the jew or christian who freed him becomes muslim and then the one who freed him has become muslim; his wala reverts to him because the wala was confirmed for him on the day he freed him. Malik said that the muslim child of a jew or christian inherited the mawali of his jewish or christian father when the freed mawla became muslim before the one who freed him became muslim. If the freed one was already muslim when he was freed; the muslim children of the christian or jew had nothing of the wala of a muslim slave because the jew and the christian did not have the wala. MuwataMalik-017-001-34899Malik related to me from Yahya Ibn Said from Said Ibn AlMusayab that Umar Ibn AlKhattab had a dispute brought to him between a muslim and a jew. Umar saw that the right belonged to the jew and decided in his favour. The jew said to him; By Allah! You have judged correctly. So Umar Ibn AlKhattab struck him with a whip and said; How can you be sure. The jew said to him; We find that there is no judge who judges correctly but that there is an angel on his right side and an angel on his left side who guide him and give him success in the truth as long as he is with the truth.
