Surat AlQasas Ayah 15Surat AlQasas-0.4745وَدَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ عَلَى حِينِ غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَذَا مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ وَهَذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَاسْتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِي مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ عَلَى الَّذِي مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَوَكَزَهُ مُوسَى فَقَضَى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ هَذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ مُضِلٌّ مُبِينٌAnd he entered the city at a time when its people were not watching: and he found there two men fighting, - one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe, and Moses struck him with his fist and made an end of him. He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan): for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!"
Surat AlTaubah Ayah 13Surat AlTaubah-0.46113أَلَا تُقَاتِلُونَ قَوْمًا نَكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ وَهَمُّوا بِإِخْرَاجِ الرَّسُولِ وَهُمْ بَدَءُوكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ فَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْشَوْهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَWill ye not fight people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Messenger, and took the aggressive by being the first (to assault) you? Do ye fear them? Nay, it is Allah Whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe!
Surat AlFath Ayah 16Surat AlFath-0.4111قُلْ لِلْمُخَلَّفِينَ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ سَتُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى قَوْمٍ أُولِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ تُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ أَوْ يُسْلِمُونَ فَإِنْ تُطِيعُوا يُؤْتِكُمُ اللَّهُ أَجْرًا حَسَنًا وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا كَمَا تَوَلَّيْتُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًاSay to the desert Arabs who lagged behind: "Ye shall be summoned (to fight) against a people given to vehement war: then shall ye fight, or they shall submit. Then if ye show obedience, Allah will grant you a goodly reward, but if ye turn back as ye did before, He will punish you with a grievous Penalty."

But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.

But when a sura of basic or categorical meaning is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein, thou wilt see those in whose hearts is a disease looking at thee with a look of one in swoon at the approach of death. Say, "The fire of Hell is fiercer in heat." If only they could understand!

He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" but when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But Allah Has full knowledge of those who do wrong.
Surat AlBaqara Ayah 217Surat AlBaqara-0.2287يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ فِيهِ قُلْ قِتَالٌ فِيهِ كَبِيرٌ وَصَدٌّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَكُفْرٌ بِهِ وَالْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَالْفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الْقَتْلِ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّى يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَنْ دِينِكُمْ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعُوا وَمَنْ يَرْتَدِدْ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ دِينِهِ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُولَئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَأُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَThey ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members." Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.

Surat AlImran Ayah 167Surat AlImran-0.1689وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا قَاتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوِ ادْفَعُوا قَالُوا لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَاتَّبَعْنَاكُمْ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِيمَانِ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ مَا لَيْسَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَAnd the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal.
Surat AlNisa Ayah 75Surat AlNisa-0.1592وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ الظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَاجْعَلْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ وَلِيًّا وَاجْعَلْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ نَصِيرًاAnd why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from Thee one who will protect; and raise for us from Thee one who will help!"
Surat AlTaubah Ayah 83Surat AlTaubah-0.13113فَإِنْ رَجَعَكَ اللَّهُ إِلَى طَائِفَةٍ مِنْهُمْ فَاسْتَأْذَنُوكَ لِلْخُرُوجِ فَقُلْ لَنْ تَخْرُجُوا مَعِيَ أَبَدًا وَلَنْ تُقَاتِلُوا مَعِيَ عَدُوًّا إِنَّكُمْ رَضِيتُمْ بِالْقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ فَاقْعُدُوا مَعَ الْخَالِفِينَIf, then, Allah bring thee back to any of them, and they ask thy permission to come out (with thee), say: "Never shall ye come out with me, nor fight an enemy with me: for ye preferred to sit inactive on the first occasion: Then sit ye (now) with those who lag behind."
Surat AlTaubah Ayah 5Surat AlTaubah-0.08113فَإِذَا انْسَلَخَ الْأَشْهُرُ الْحُرُمُ فَاقْتُلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدْتُمُوهُمْ وَخُذُوهُمْ وَاحْصُرُوهُمْ وَاقْعُدُوا لَهُمْ كُلَّ مَرْصَدٍ فَإِنْ تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَخَلُّوا سَبِيلَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌBut when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Surat AlImran Ayah 156Surat AlImran-0.0789يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقَالُوا لِإِخْوَانِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا غُزًّى لَوْ كَانُوا عِنْدَنَا مَا مَاتُوا وَمَا قُتِلُوا لِيَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ ذَلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌO ye who believe! Be not like the Unbelievers, who say of their brethren, when they are travelling through the Earth or engaged in fighting: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died, or been slain." This that Allah may make it a cause of sighs and regrets in their hearts. It is Allah that gives Life and Death, and Allah sees well all that ye do.
Surat AlHashr Ayah 11Surat AlHashr-0.045101أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا يَقُولُونَ لِإِخْوَانِهِمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَئِنْ أُخْرِجْتُمْ لَنَخْرُجَنَّ مَعَكُمْ وَلَا نُطِيعُ فِيكُمْ أَحَدًا أَبَدًا وَإِنْ قُوتِلْتُمْ لَنَنْصُرَنَّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَHast thou not observed the Hypocrites say to their misbelieving brethren among the People of the Book? - "If ye are expelled, we too will go out with you, and we will never hearken to any one in your affair; and if ye are attacked (in fight) we will help you". But Allah is witness that they are indeed liars.
Surat Muhammad Ayah 4Surat Muhammad-0.02659فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَضَرْبَ الرِّقَابِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَثْخَنْتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَاءً حَتَّى تَضَعَ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ذَلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ لَانْتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَكِنْ لِيَبْلُوَ بَعْضَكُمْ بِبَعْضٍ وَالَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَنْ يُضِلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْTherefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah, - He will never let their deeds be lost.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1101Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Prophet Solomon who had sixty wives; once said; Tonight I will have sexual relation sleep with all my wives so that each of them will become pregnant and bring forth a boy who will grow into a cavalier and will fight in Allah Cause. So he slept with his wives and none of them conceived and delivered a child except one who brought a half body boy deformed. Allah Prophet said; If Solomon had said; If Allah Will; then each of those women would have delivered a would-be cavalier to fight in Allah Cause. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1378Narrated Abu AlMinhal: When Ibn Ziyad and Marwan were in Sham and Ibn AlZubair took over the authority in Mecca and Qurra the Kharijites revolted in Basra; I went out with my father to Abu Barza AlAslami till we entered upon him in his house while he was sitting in the shade of a room built of cane. So we sat with him and my father started talking to him saying; O Abu Barza! Dont you see in what dilemma the people has fallen? The first thing heard him saying I seek reward from Allah for myself because of being angry and scornful at the Quraish tribe. O you Arabs! You know very well that you were in misery and were few in number and misguided; and that Allah has brought you out of all that with Islam and with Muhammad till He brought you to this state of prosperity and happiness which you see now; and it is this worldly wealth and pleasures which has caused mischief to appear among you. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1955Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ went to Quba; he used to visit Um Haram bint Milhan who would offer him meals; and she was the wife of Ubada Bin AlSamit. One day he went to her house and she offered him a meal; and after that he slept; and then woke up smiling. She Um Haram said; I asked him; What makes you laugh; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? He said; Some people of my followers were displayed before me as warriors fighting for Allah Cause and sailing over this sea; kings on thrones; or said; like kings on thrones. The narrator; Ishaq is in doubt about it. I Um Haram said; O Allah Apostle! Invoke Allah that He may make me one of them. He invoked Allah for her and then lay his head and slept again and then woke up smiling. I asked; What makes you laugh; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2194Narrated Saad Bin Sahl AlSaidi: The Prophet ﷺ looked at a man fighting against the pagans and he was one of the most competent persons fighting on behalf of the Muslims. The Prophet ﷺ said; Let him who wants to look at a man from the dwellers of the Hell Fire; look at this man. Another man followed him and kept on following him till he the fighter was injured and; seeking to die quickly; he placed the blade tip of his sword between his breasts and leaned over it till it passed through his shoulders i.e.; committed suicide. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3153Narrated Ibn Abbas: The pagans were of two kinds as regards their relationship to the Prophet and the Believers. Some of them were those with whom the Prophet was at war and used to fight against; and they used to fight him; the others were those with whom the Prophet ﷺ made a treaty; and neither did the Prophet ﷺ fight them; nor did they fight him. If a lady from the first group of pagans emigrated towards the Muslims; her hand would not be asked in marriage unless she got the menses and then became clean. When she became clean; it would be lawful for her to get married; and if her husband emigrated too before she got married; then she would be returned to him. If any slave or female slave emigrated from them to the Muslims; then they would be considered free persons not slaves and they would have the same rights as given to other emigrants. The narrator then mentioned about the pagans involved with the Muslims in a treaty; the same as occurs in Mujahid narration. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3813Narrated Jubair Bin Haiya: Umar sent the Muslims to the great countries to fight the pagans. When AlHurmuzan embraced Islam; Umar said to him. I would like to consult you regarding these countries which I intend to invade. AlHurmuzan said; Yes; the example of these countries and their inhabitants who are the enemies. of the Muslims; is like a bird with a head; two wings and two legs; If one of its wings got broken; it would get up over its two legs; with one wing and the head; and if the other wing got broken; it would get up with two legs and a head; but if its head got destroyed; then the two legs; two wings and the head would become useless. The head stands for Khosrau; and one wing stands for Caesar and the other wing stands for Faris. So; order the Muslims to go towards Khosrau. So; Umar sent us to Khosrau appointing AlNuman Bin Muqrin as our commander. When we reached the land of the enemy; the representative of Khosrau came out with forty-thousand warriors; and an interpreter got up saying; Let one of you talk to me! AlMughira replied; Ask whatever you wish. The other asked; Who are you? AlMughira replied; We are some people from the Arabs; we led a hard; miserable; disastrous life: we used to suck the hides and the date stones from hunger; we used to wear clothes made up of fur of camels and hair of goats; and to worship trees and stones. While we were in this state; the Lord of the Heavens and the Earths; Elevated is His Remembrance and Majestic is His Highness; sent to us from among ourselves a Prophet whose father and mother are known to us. Our Prophet; the Messenger of our Lord; has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya i.e. tribute ; and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says:- Whoever amongst us is killed i.e. martyred ; shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen; and whoever amongst us remain alive; shall become your master. AlMughira; then blamed AlNuman for delaying the attack and AlNu man said to AlMughira; If you had participated in a similar battle; in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ he would not have blamed you for waiting; nor would he have disgraced you. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4479Narrated Anas: My uncle Anas Bin AlNadr was absent from the Battle of Badr. He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I was absent from the first battle you fought against the pagans. By Allah if Allah gives me a chance to fight the pagans; no doubt. Allah will see how bravely I will fight. On the day of Uhud when the Muslims turned their backs and fled; he said; O Allah! I apologize to You for what these i.e. his companions have done; and I denounce what these i.e. the pagans have done. Then he advanced and Saad Bin Muadh met him. He said O Saad Bin Muadh ! On that Anas bin AlNadr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Him Who has sent you with the Truth; my sister tooth shall not be broken. Then the opponents of Anas sister accepted the compensation and gave up the claim of retaliation. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4569Narrated Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi: Allah Messenger ﷺ and the pagans faced each other and started fighting. When Allah Messenger ﷺ returned to his camp and when the pagans returned to their camp; somebody talked about a man amongst the companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ who would follow and kill with his sword any pagan going alone. He said; Nobody did his job i.e. fighting so properly today as that man. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Indeed; he is amongst the people of the Hell Fire. A man amongst the people said; I shall accompany him to watch what he does Thus he accompanied him; and wherever he stood; he would stand with him; and wherever he ran; he would run with him. Then the brave man got wounded seriously and he decided to bring about his death quickly. He planted the blade of the sword in the ground directing its sharp end towards his chest between his two breasts. Then he leaned on the sword and killed himself. The other man came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; I testify that you are Allah Messenger ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ asked; What has happened? He replied; It is about the man whom you had described as one of the people of the Hell Fire. The people were greatly surprised at what you said; and I said; I will find out his reality for you. So; I came out seeking him. He got severely wounded; and hastened to die by slanting the blade of his sword in the ground directing its sharp end towards his chest between his two breasts. SahihMuslim-017-001-17985It has been reported from Sulaiman Bin Buraida through his father that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed anyone as leader of an army or detachment he would especially exhort him to fear Allah and to be good to the Muslims who were with him. He would say: Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war; do not embezzle the spoils; do not break your pledge; and do not mutilate the dead bodies; do not kill the children. When you meet your enemies who are polytheists; invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these; you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to accept Islam; if they respond to you; accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. Then invite them to migrate from their lands to the land of the Muhajireen and inform them that; if they do so; they shall have all the privileges and obligations of the Muhajireen. If they refuse to migrate; tell them that they will have the status of Bedouin Muslims and will be subjected to the Commands of Allah like other Muslims; but they will not get any share from the spoils of war or Fai except when they actually fight with the Muslims against the disbelievers. If they refuse to accept Islam; demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay; accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax; seek Allah help and fight them. When you lay siege to a fort and the besieged appeal to you for protection in the name of Allah and His Prophet; do not accord to them the guarantee of Allah and His Prophet; but accord to them your own guarantee and the guarantee of your companions for it is a lesser sin that the security given by you or your companions be disregarded than that the security granted in the name of Allah and His Prophet be violated. SahihMuslim-017-001-18076It has been narrated on the authority of Abbas who said: I was in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of Hunain. I and Abd Sufyan Bin Harith Bin Abd AlMuttalib stuck to the Messenaer of Allah ﷺ and we did not separate from him. And the Messenger of Allah may place be upon him was riding on his white mule which had been presented to him by Farwa Bin Nufitha AlJudhami. When the Muslims had an encounter with the disbelievers; the Muslims fled; falling back; but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to spur his mule towards the disbelievers. I was holding the bridle of the mule of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ checking it from going very fast; and Abu Sufyan was holding the stirrup of the mule of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who said: Abbas; call out to the people of AlSamura. Abbas who was a man with a loud voice called out at the top of the voice: Where are the people of Samura? Abbas said: And by God; when they heard my voice; they came back to us as cows come back to their calves; and said: We are present; we are present! Abbas said: They began to fight the infidels. Then there was a call to The Ansar. Those who called out to them shouted: O ye party of the Ansar! O party of the Ansar! Banu AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj were the last to be called. Those who called out to them shouted: O Banu AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj! O BanU Harith Bin AlKhazraj! And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was riding on his mule looked at their fight with his neck stretched forward and he said: This is the time when the fight is raging hot. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took some pebbles and threw them in the face of the infidels. Then he said: By the Lord of Muhammad; the infidels are defeated. Abbas said: I went round and saw that the battle was in the same condition in which I had seen it. By Allah; it remained in the same condition until he threw the pebbles. SahihMuslim-017-001-18097It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Wail who said: Sahal Bin Hunaif stood up on the Day of Siffin and said: O ye people; blame yourselves for want of discretion ; we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of Hudaibiya. If we had thought it fit to fight; we could fight. This was in the truce between the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the polytheists. Allah will never ruin me. The narrator said : Umar went away; but he could not contain himself with rage. So he approached Abu Bakr and said: Abu Bakr; arent we fighting for truth and they for falsehood? He replied: Yes. He asked: Arent those killed from our side in Paradise and those killed from their side in the Fire? He replied: Why not? He then said: Why should we then disgrace our religion and return while God has not yet decided the issue between them and ourselves? Abu Bakr said: Son of AlKhattab; verily; he is the Messenger of Allah; and Allah will never ruin him. The narrator continued : At this a Surat of the Quran giving glad tidings of the victory was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He sent for Umar and made him read it. SahihMuslim-017-001-18132It has been narrated on the authority of Salama Bin AlAkwa who said: We marched upon Khaibar with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We journeyed during the night. One of the people said to my brother Amir Bin AlAkwa: Wont you recite to us some of your verses? Amir was a poet. So he began to chant his verses to urge the camels; reciting: O God; if Thou hadst not guided us We would have neither been guided rightly nor practised charity; Nor offered prayers. We wish to lay down our lives for Thee; so forgive Thou our lapses; And keep us steadfast when we encounter our enemies. Bestow upon us peace and tranquillity. Behold; when with a cry they called upon us to help. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who is this driver of the camels ? They said: It is Amir. He said: God will show mercy to him. A man said: Martyrdom is reserved for him. Messenger of Allah; would that you had allowed us to benefit ourselves from his life. The narrator says : We reached Khaibar and besieged them; and we continued the siege until extreme hunger afflicted us. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Behold; God has conquered it for you. When it was evening of the day on which the city was conquered. the Muslims lit many fires. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What are these fires? And what are they cooking? They said: They are cooking meat. He asked. Which meat? They said: That of domestic asses. He said: Let them throw it away and break the pots in which it is being cooked. A man said: Or should they throw it away and wash the pots? He said: They may do that. When the people drew themselves up in battle array Amir caught hold of his sword that was rather short He drove a Jew before him to strike him with it. As he struck him ; his sword recoiled and struck his own knee; and Amir died of the wound. When the people returned after the conquest of Kliaibar and he Salama had caught hold of my hand; and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that I was silent and dejected ; he said: What the matter with thee? I said to him: My father and my mother be thy ransom; people presume that Amir sacrifice has been in vain. He asked: Who has said that? I said: So and so and Usaid Bin Hudair AlAnsari. He said: Who has said that has lied. For him for Amir there is a double reward. He indicated this by putting two of his fingers together. He was a devotee of God and a warrior fighting for His cause. He would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; and recall his fault which he had committed; and would fight shy of his Lord on account of that; and would say : You better go to Ibrahim ﷺ whom Allah took for a friend. They would come to Ibrahim ﷺ and he would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; and would recall his fault that he had committed and would; therefore; fight shy of his Lord on that account and would say : You better go to Moses ﷺ with whom Allah conversed and con- ferred Torah upon him. He the Holy Prophet said: So they would come to Moses ﷺ He would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; and would recall his fault that he had committed and would fight shy of his Lord on account of that and would say : You better go to Jesus; the Spirit of Allah and His word He would say: I am not in a position to do that for you; you better go to Muhammad ﷺ ; a servant whose former and later sins have been forgiven. He the narrator said: The Messenger or Allah ﷺ observed: So they would come to me and I would ask the permission of my Lord and it would be granted to me; and when I would see Him; I would fall down in prostration; and He Allah would leave me thus as long as He would wish; and then it would be said: O Muhammad; raise your head; say and you would be heard; ask and it would be granted; intercede and intercession would be accepted. Then I would raise my head and extrol my Lord with the praise which my Lord would teach me. I shall then inter- cede; but a limit would be set for me I would bring them out from the Fire and make them enter Paradise according to the limit. I shall return then ard fall down in pros- tration and Allah would leave me in that position as long as He would wish to leave me it would be said: Rise; O Muhammad; say and you would be heard; ask and it would be conferred; intercede and intercession would be granted. I would raise my head and extrol my Lord with praise that He would teach me. I would theft intercede and a limit would be set for me. I would bring them out of the Fire of Hell and make them enter Paradise. He the narrator said: I do not remember whether he the Holy Prophet said at tLe third time or at the fourth time: O my Lord; none has been left in the Fire; but thise restrained by the Holy Quran; i e. those who were eternally doomed. He sits waiting for him; in the path to Islam; and he says: Will you accept Islam; and leave your religion; and the religion of your forefathers? But he disobeys him and accepts Islam. Then he sits waiting for him; on the path to emigration; and he says: Will you emigrate and leave behind your land and sky? The one who emigrates is like a horse tethered to a peg. But he disobeys him and emigrates. Then he sits; waiting for him; on the path to Jihad; and he says: Will you fight in Jihad when it will cost you your life and your wealth? Umm Haram was married to Ubadah bint AlSamit. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her and she fed him and checked his head for lice. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell asleep; then he woke up smiling. She said: What is making you smile; O Messenger of Allah? He said: Some people of my Ummah were shown to me; fighting in the cause of Allah and riding across the sea like kings on thrones. I said: O Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah to make me one of them. So the Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah to make me one of them. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for her then he slept again. One of narrators AlHarith; said in his narration : He slept then he woke up smiling. I said to him: What is making you smile; O Messenger of Allah? He said: Some people of my Ummah were shown to me; fighting in the cause of Allah and riding across the sea like kings on thrones; as he had said the first time. Permit me to tell you of a statement that the Messenger of Allah said the day after the Conquest of Makkah; which my ears heard; my hear understood; and my eyes saw; when he said it. He the Prophet praised Allah; then he said: Makkah has been made sacred by Allah; not by the people. It is not permissible for any man who believes in Allah and the Last Day to shed blood in it; or to cut its trees. If any one seeks permission to fight in it because the Messenger of Allah fought in it; say to him: Allah allowed his Messenger to fight therein but He did not allow you. Rather permission was given to me to fight therein for a short period one day; and now its sanctity has been restored as it as before. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29275Narrated A man from the companions of the Prophet: Abdulrahman Ibn Kaab Ibn Malik reported on the authority of a man from among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ : The infidels of the Quraysh wrote a letter to Ibn Ubay and to those who worshipped idols from alaous and AlKhazraj; while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at that time at Medina before the battle of Badr. They wrote : You gave protection to our companion. We swear by Allah; you should fight him or expel him; or we shall come to you in full force; until we kill your fighters and appropriate your women. When this news reached Abdullah Ibn Ubay and those who were worshippers of idols; with him they gathered together to fight the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When this news reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; he visited them and said: The threat of the Quraysh to you has reached its end. They cannot contrive a plot against you; greater than what you yourselves intended to harm you. Are you willing to fight your sons and brethren? When they heard this from the Prophet ﷺ ; they scattered. This reached the infidels of the Quraysh. The infidels of the Quraysh again wrote a letter to the Jews after the battle of Badr: You are men of weapons and fortresses. You should fight our companion or we shall deal with you in a certain way. And nothing will come between us and the anklets of your women. When their letter reached the Prophet ﷺ ; they gathered Banu AlNadir to violate the treaty. They sent a message to the Prophet ﷺ : Come out to us with thirty men from your companions; and thirty rabbis will come out from us till we meet at a central place where they will hear you. If they testify to you and believe in you; we shall believe in you. The narrator then narrated the whole story. When the next day came; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the morning with an army; and surrounded them. He told them: I swear by Allah; you will have no peace from me until you conclude a treaty with me. But they refused to conclude a treaty with him. He therefore fought them the same day. Next he attacked Banu Quraysh with an army in the morning; and left Banu AlNadir. He asked them to sign a treaty and they signed it. He turned away from them and attacked Banu AlNadir with an army. He fought with them until they agreed to expulsion. Banu AlNadir were deported; and they took with them whatever their camels could carry; that is; their property; the doors of their houses; and their wood. Palm-trees were exclusively reserved for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Allah bestowed them upon him and gave them him as a special portion. He Allah ; the Exalted; said: What Allah has bestowed on His Apostle and taken away from them; for this ye made no expedition with either camel corps or cavalry. He said: Without fighting. So the Prophet ﷺ gave most of it to the emigrants and divided it among them; and he divided some of it between two men from the helpers; who were needy; and he did not divide it among any of the helpers except those two.
