Once he visited Hafsa and remained with her longer than the period he used to stay; so I enquired about it. It was said to me; A woman from her tribe gave her a leather skin containing honey as a present; and she gave some of it to Allah Messenger ﷺ to drink. I said; By Allah; we will play a trick on him. So I mentioned the story to Sauda the wife of the Prophet and said to her; When he enters upon you; he will come near to you whereupon you should say to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Have you eaten Maghafir? He will say; No. Then you say to him; What is this bad smell? And it would be very hard on Allah Messenger ﷺ that a bad smell should be found on his body. Once he went to Hafsa; the daughter of Umar and stayed with her more than usual. I got jealous and asked the reason for that. I was told that a lady of her folk had given her a skin filled with honey as a present; and that she made a syrup from it and gave it to the Prophet ﷺ to drink and that was the reason for the delay. I said; By Allah we will play a trick on him to prevent him from doing so. So I said to Sada bint Zama The Prophet ﷺ will approach you; and when he comes near you; say: Have you taken Maghafir a bad-smelling gum ? He will say; No. Then say to him: Then what is this bad smell which i smell from you? He will say to you; Hafsa made me drink honey syrup. Then say: Perhaps the bees of that honey had sucked the juice of the tree of AlUrfut. I shall also say the same. O you; Safiya; say the same. Later Sada said; By Allah; as soon as he the Prophet ﷺ stood at the door; I was about to say to him what you had ordered me to say because I was afraid of you. So when the Prophet ﷺ came near Sada; she said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Have you taken Maghafir? He said; No. She said. Then what is this bad smell which I detect on you? He said; Hafsa made me drink honey syrup. She said; Perhaps its bees had sucked the juice of AlUrfut tree. Allah Apostle ﷺ said. Make an assessment of the price of its fruit. And Allah Messenger ﷺ also made an assessment and it was ten wasqs. He asked that lady to calculate the amount until they would; God willing; come back to her. So we proceeded on until we came to Tabuk and Allah Messenger ﷺ said: The violent storm will overtake you during the night; so none amongst you should stand up and he who has a camel with him should hobble it firmly. A violent storm blew and a person who had stood up was carried away by the storm and thrown between the mountains of Tay. Then the messenger of the son of AlAlma; the ruler of Aila; came to Allah Messenger ﷺ with a letter and a gift of a white mule. Allah Messenger ﷺ wrote him the reply and presented him a cloak. We came back until we halted in the Wadi AlQura. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked that lady about her garden and the price of the fruits in that. She said: Ten wasqs. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: I am going to depart; and he who amongst you wishes may depart with me but he who wants to stay may stay. It was at this time that Allah Messenger ﷺ said: This is Taba; this is Uhud; that is a mountain which loves us and we love it; and then said: The best amongst the houses of the Ansar is the house of Bani Najjar. Then the house of Bani Abd AlAshhal; then the house of Bani Abd AlHarith Bin Khazraj; then the house of Bani Saida; and there is goodness in all the houses of the Ansar. SahihMuslim-017-001-20768Abdullah Bin Samit reported that Abu Dharr said: We set out from our tribe Ghafir who look upon the prohibited months as permissible months. I and my brother Unais and our mother stayed with our maternal uncle who treated us well. The men of his tribe fell jealous and they said: When you are anay from your house; Unais commits adultery with your wife. Our -naternal uncle came and he accused us of the sin which was conveyed to him. I said: You have undone the good you did to us. We cannot stay with you after this. We came to our camels and loaded our luggage. Our maternal uncle began to weep covering himself with a piece of cloth. We proceeded on until we encamped by the side of Mecca. Unais cast lot on the camels we had and an equal number above that. They both went to a Kahin and he made Unais win and Unais came with our camels and an equal number along with them. He Abu Dharr said: My nephew; I used to observe prayer three years before my meeting with Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said: For whom did you say prayer? He said: For Allah. I said: To which direction did you turn your face for observing prayer ? He said: I used to turn my face as Allah has directed me to turn my face. I used to observe the night prayer at the time of the end of night and I fell down in prostration like the mantle until the sun rose over me. Unais said: I have a work in Mecca; so you better stay here. Unais went until he came to Mecca and he came to me late. I said: What did you do? He said: I met a person in Mecca who is on your religion and he claims that verily it is Allah Who has sent him. I said: What do the people say about him? He said: They say that he is a poet or a Kahin or a magician. Unais who was himself one of the poets said. I have heard the words of a Kahin but his words in no way resemble his words. And 1 also compared his words to the verses of poets but such words cannot be uttered by any poet. By Allah; he is truthful and they are liars. Then I said: you stay here; until I go; so that I should see him. He said: I came to Mecca and I selected an insignificant person from amongst them and said to him: Where is he whom you call AlSabi? He pointed out towards me saying: He is Sabi. Thereupon the people of the valley attacked me with sods and bows until I fell down unconscious. I stood up after havin. regained my consciousness and I found as if I was a red idol. I came to Zamzarn and washed blood from me and drank water from it and listen; O son of my brother; I stayed there for thirty nights or days and there was no food for me but the water of Zamzarn. And I became so bulky that there appeared wrinkles upon my stomach; and I did not feel any hunger in my stomach. It was during this time that the people of Mecca slept in the moonlit night and none was there to eircumambulate the House but only two women who had been invoking the name of Isafa; and Naila the two idols. They came to me while in their circuit and I said: Marry one with the other; but they did not dissuade from their invoking. They came to me and I said to them: Insert wood in the idols private parts. I said this to them in such plain words as I could not express in metaphorical terms. These women went away crying and saying: Had there been one amongst our people he would have taught a lesson to you for the obscene words used for our idols before us. These women met Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr who had also been coming down the hill. He asked them: What has happened to you? They said: There is Sabi; who has hidden himself between the Kaba and its curtain. He said: What did he say to you? They said: He uttered such words before us as we cannot express. Allah Messenger ﷺ came and he kissed the Black Stone and circumambulated the House along with his Companion and then observed prayer; and when he had finished his prayer; Abu Dharr said: I was the first to greet him with the salutation of peace and uttered these words in this way; Allah Messen- ger; may there be peace upon you; whereupon he said: It may be upon you too and the mercy of Allah. He then said: Who are you? I said: From the tribe of Ghifar. He leaned his hand and placed his finger on his forehead and I said to myself: Perhaps he has not liked it that I belong to the tribe of Ghifar. I attempted to catch hold of his hand but his friend who knew about him more than I dissuaded me f rom doing so. He then lifted his head and said: Since how long have you been here? I said: I have been here for the last thirty nights or days. He said: Who has been feeding you? I said: There has been no food for me but the water of Zamzam. I have grown so bulky that there appear wrinkles upon my stomach and I do not feel any hunger. He said: It is blessed water and it also serves as food. Thereupon Abu Bakr said: Allah Messenger; let me serve as a host to him for tonight; and then Allah Messenger ﷺ proceeded forth and so did Abu Bakr and I went along with them. Abu Bakr opened the door and then he brought for us the raisins of Taif and that was the first food which I ate there. Then I stayed as long as I had to stay. I then came to Allah Messenaer ﷺ and he said: I have been shown the land abound- ing in trees and I think it cannot be but that of Yathrib that is the old name of Medina. You are a preacher to your people on my behalf. I hope Allah would benefit them through you and He would reward you. I came to Unais and he said: What have you done? I said: I have done that I have embraced Islam and I have testified to the prophethood of Allah Messenger. He said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify to the prophethood of Muhammad. Then both of us came to our mother and she said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify to the prophethood of Muhammad. We then loaded our camels and came to our tribe Ghifir and half of the tribe embraced Islam and their chief was Aimi Bin Rahada Ghifirl and he was their leader and hall of the tribe said: We will embrace Islam when Allah Messenger may p;. ace be upon him would come to Medina; and when Allah Messenger ﷺ came to Medina the remaining half also embraced Islam. Then a tribe Aslam came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; we also embrace Islam like our brothers who have embraced Islam. And they also embraced Islam. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Allah granted pardon to the tribe of Ghifar and Allah saved from destruction the tribe of Aslam. The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 28 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-20820Abu Mousa reported: We were in Yemen when we heard of the migration of Allah Messenger ﷺ. We also set out as immigrants to him. And I was accompanied by two brothers of mine; I being the youngest of them; one of them was Abu Burda and the other one was Abu Ruhm; and there were some other persons with them. Some say they were fifty-three or fifty-two persons of my tribe. We embarked upon a boat; and the boat sailed away to the Negus of Abyssinia. There we met Jafar Bin Abu Talib and his companions. Jafar said: Allall Messenger ﷺ has sent us here and has commanded us to stay here and you should also stay with us. So we stayed with him and we came back to Medina and met Allah Messenger ﷺ when Khaibar had been conquered. He the Holy Prophet allocated a share to us and in the ordinary course he did not allocate the share to one who had been absent on the occasion of the conquest of Khaibar but conferred a share upon him only who had been present there with him. He; however; made an exception for the people of the boat; viz. for Jafar and his companions. He allocated a share to them; and some persons from amongst the people said to us; viz. the people of the boat: We have preceded you in migration. Asma bint Umais who had migrated to Abyssinia and had come back along with them along with immigrants visited Hafsa; the wife of Allah Apostle ﷺ. Accordingly ; Umar had been sitting with her Hafsa. As Umar saw Asma; he said: Who is she? She Hafsa said: She is Asma; daughter of Umais. He said: She is an Abyssinian and a sea-woman. Asma said: Yes; it is so. Thereupon Umar said: We preceded you in migration and so we have more right to Allah Messenger ﷺ as compared with you. At this she felt annoyed and said: Umar; you are not stating the fact; by Allah; you had the privilege of being in the company of the Messenger ﷺ who fed the hungry among you and instructed the ignorant amongst you; whereas we had been far from here in the land of Abyssinia amongst the enemies and that was all for Allah and Allah Messenger ﷺ and; by Allah; I would never take food nor take water unless I make a mention to Allah Messenger ﷺ of what you have said. We remained in that country in constant trouble and dread and I shall talk about it to Allah Messenger way ﷺ and ask him about it. By Allah; I shall not tell a lie and deviate from the truth and add anything to that. So; when Allah Apostle ﷺ came; she said: Allah Apostle; Umar says so and so. Upon this Allah Messenger ﷺ said: His right is not more than yours; for him and his companions there is one migration; but for you; i. e. for the people of the boat; there are two migrations. She said: I saw Abu Mousa and the people of the boat coming to me in groups and asking me about this hadith; because there was nothing more pleasing and more significant for them than this. SahihMuslim-017-001-21145Abd AlRabman Bin Abu Bakr reported that the people of Suffa were very poor. Once the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his Companions : He who amongst you has food for two persons should take three guests with him. and he who has with him food for four persons should take five or six guests with him for entertaining them. It was in accordance with these instructions of the Holy Prophet that Abu Bakr brought three persons; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought ten persons as guests to their respective houses. Abu Bakr had brought three persons he himself; and myself ; my father and my mother along with therm. He the narrator said: I do not know whether he also said: My wife and one servant who was common between our house and that of Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr had had his evening meal with Allah Apostle ﷺ. He stayed here until night prayer had been offered. He then came back to the house of Allah Apostle and stayed there until Allah Messenger ﷺ felt drowsy and Abu Bakr then came back to his own house when a considerable part of the night had been over; as Allah had desired. His wife said to him: What held you back from your guests? He said: Oh! have you not served them the evening meal by this time ? She said: It was in fact served to them. but they refused to eat until you came. He Abdulrahman said: I slunk away and bid myself. He Abu Bakr said: O; you stupid fellow; and he reprimanded me; and said to the guests: Eat; though it may not be pleasant now. He said: By Allah. I will never eat it He Abdulrahman said: By Allah. we did not take a morsel when from beneath that there appeared more until they had eaten to their fill; and lo! it was more than what it was before. Abu Bakr saw that and found that it was so or more than that. He said to his wife: Sister of Band Firis; what is th-is? She said: By the coolness of my eyes. it is in excess by three times over the previous one. Then Abu Bakr ate saying: That was from the Satan viz. his vow for not eating the food. He then took a morsel out of that and then took it the rest to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and it was kept there until morning; and during those days there was a covenant between us and some other people; and the period of covenant was over; and we had appointed twelve officials with every person amongst them. It is Allah only Who knows as to how many people were there with each of them. So when he divided his stay with them; the turn of the first wife did not come but on the ninth day. They all the wives used to gather every night in the house of one where he had to come and stay that night. It was the night when he had to stay in the house of Aisha Allah be pleased with her ; when Zainab came there. He the Holy Prophet stretched his hand towards her Zainab ; whereupon she Aisha said: It is Zainab. Allah Apostle ﷺ withdrew his hand. There was an altercation between the two until their voices became loud and it was at that time when Iqama was pronounced for prayer. There happened to come Abu Bakr and he heard their voices and said: Messenger of Allah; kindly come for prayer; and throw dust in their mouths. So the Prophet ﷺ went out. Aisha said: When Allah Apostle ﷺ would finish his prayer there would also come Abu Bakr and he would do as he does on such occasions; i.e. reprimanding. When Allah Apostle ﷺ had finished his prayer; there came to her Abu Bakr; and spoke to her Aisha in stern words and said: Do you behave like this? The Chapter on Hand Gestures Stretching in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 13 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-21504Aisha Allah be pleased with her reported Allah Messenger ﷺ liked sweet dish and honey. After saying the afternoon prayer he used to visit his wives going close to them. So he went to Hafsa and stayed with her more than what was his usual stay. I Aisha asked about that. It was said to me: A woman of her family had sent her a small vessel of honey as a gift; and she gave to Allah Messenger ﷺ from that a drink. I said: By Allah; we would also contrive a device for him. I mentioned that to Sauda; and said: When he Allah Apostle would visit you and draw close to you; say to him: Allah Messenger; have you taken maghafir? And he wouldsay to you: No. Then say to him: What is this odour? And Allah Messenger ﷺ felt it very much that unpleasant odour should emit from him. So he would say to you: Hafsa has given me a drink of honey. Then you should say to him: The honey-bees might have sucked Urfut; and I would also say the same to him and. Safiya; you should also say this. So when he the Holy Prophet came to Sauda; she said: By Him besides whom there is no god; it was under compulsion that I had decided to state that which you told me when he would be at a little distance at the door. So when Allah Messenger ﷺ came near; she said: Messenger of Allah; did you eat Maghafir? He said: No. She again said: Then what is this odour? He said: Hafsa gave me honey to drink. She said: The honey-bee might have sucked Urfut. When he came to me I told him like this. He then visited Safiya and she also said to him like this. When he again visited Hafsa; she said: Messenger of Allah; should I not give you that drink ? He said: I do not need that. Sauda said: Hallowed be Allah; by Him we have contrived to make that honey unlawful for him. I thought that he did not like anyone walking along with him. So I began to walk in the light of the moon. He; however turned his attention to me and saw me and said: Who is this? I said: It is Abu Dharr. Let Allah make me as ransom for you. He said: Abu Dharr; come on. He Abu Dharr said: So I walked along with him for some time and he said: The wealthy persons would have little reward on the Day of Resurrection; except upon whom Allah conferred goodness wealth. He dispensed it to his right; left; in front of him and at his back just as the wind diffuses fragrance and did good with it riches. I went along with him for some time when He said: Sit here. And he made me sit at a safe place and there were stones around it; and he said to me: Sit here till I come to you. He went away on the stony ground till I could not see him. He stayed away from me; and he prolonged his stay. Then I heard him as he came back and he was saying: Even if he committed theft and even if he committed fornication. When he came I could not help asking him: Apostle of Allah; let Allah make me ransom for you; whom were you speaking on the stony ground? I heard nobody responding to you. He the Holy Prophet said: It was Gabriel who met me by the side of the stony ground and said: Give glad tidings to your Ummah that he who died without associating ought with Allah would go into Paradise. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made Bani Malik stay in a tent of his. Mousaddad version says: He was in the deputation of Thaqif which came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He used to visit and have a talk with us every day after the night prayer. The version of Abu Saeed says: He remained standing for such a long time talking to us that he put his weight sometimes on one leg and sometimes on the other due to his long stay. He mostly told us how his people; the Quraysh; behaved with him. He would say: We were not equal; we were weak and degraded at Mecca according to Mousaddad version. When we came over to Medina the fighting began between us; sometimes we overcome them and at other times they overcome us. One night he came late and did not come at the time he used to come. We asked him: You came late tonight? He said: I could not recite the fixed part of the Quran that I used to recite every day. I disliked to come till I had completed it. Aws said: I asked the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : How do you divide the Quran for daily recitation? When she reached Sarif; she menstruated. When we came to Makkah we circumambulated the Kabah and ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then commanded us that those who had not brought sacrificial animals withthem should put off their ihram after Umrah. We asked Which acts are lawful and which not ? He replied All acts are lawful that are permissible usually. We had therefore intercourse with our wives; used perfumes; put on our clothes. There remained only four days to perform Hajj at Arafat. We then raised our voice in talbiyah wearing Ihram for Hajj on the eighth of Dhu AlHijja. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Aisha and found her weeping. He said What is the matter with you? My problem is that I have menstruated; while the people have put on their ihram but I have not done so; nor did I go round the House the Kabah. Now the people are proceeding for Hajj. He said This is a thing destined by Allah to the daughters of Adam. Take a bath; then raise your voice in talbiyah for Hajj i.e; wear ihram for Hajj. Then will come a test which is pleasant. Its murkiness is due to the fact that it is produced by a man from the people of my house; who will assert that he belongs to me; whereas he does not; for my friends are only the God-fearing. Then the people will unite under a man who will be like a hip-bone on a rib. Then there will be the little black trial which will leave none of this community without giving him a slap; and when people say that it is finished; it will be extended. Sufyan said While he was concealing himself the house suddenly fell on him and he died. The Chapter on Parents Mothers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Sanctity Of The Womenfolk Of The Mujahidin To Those Who Do Not Participate in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29559Narrated Abu Ayoub : Abu Imran said: We went out on an expedition from Medina with the intention of attacking Constantinople. Abdulrahman Ibn Khalid Ibn AlWalid was the leader of the company. The Romans were just keeping their backs to the walls of the city. A man suddenly attacked the enemy. Thereupon the people said: Stop! Stop! There is no god but Allah. He is putting himself into danger. Abu Ayoub said: This verse was revealed about us; the group of the Ansar the Helpers. When Allah helped His Prophet ﷺ and gave Islam dominance; we said i.e. thought : Come on! Let us stay in our property and improve it. Thereupon Allah; the Exalted; revealed; And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah; and make not your hands contribute to your destruction. To put oneself into danger means that we stay in our property and commit ourselves to its improvement; and abandon fighting i.e. jihad. Abu Imran said: Abu Ayoub continued to strive in the cause of Allah until he died and was buried in Constantinople. The Chapter on Enemies And Groups And The Revaltion in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Saying Of Allah The Mighty And Sublime And Do Not Throw Yourself Into Destruction in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29694Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar: Ibn Umar was sent with a detachment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The people wheeled round in flight. He said: I was one of those who wheeled round in flight. When we stopped; we said i.e. thought : How should we do? We have run away from the battlefield and deserve Allah wrath. Then we said thought : Let us enter Medina; stay there; and go there while no one sees us. So we entered Medina and thought: If we present ourselves before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and if there is a change of repentance for us; we shall stay; if there is something else; we shall go away. So we sat down waiting for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before the dawn prayer. When he came out; we stood up to him and said: We are the ones who have fled. He turned to us and said: No; you are the ones who return to fight after wheeling away. We then approached and kissed his hand; and he said; I am the main body of the Muslims. The Chapter on Live Stock And Gifts in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Fleeing On The Day Of The March in Sunan Abu Dawoud

MuwataMalik-017-001-34490Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Hazim Salama Ibn Dinar from Sahl Ibn Said AlSaidi that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; went to the tribe of Bani Amr Ibn Awuf to settle their disputes. The time for the prayer came and the muadhdhin came to Abu Bakr AlSiddiq and said; Could you lead the people in prayer and I will say the iqama? He said; Yes; and Abu Bakr prayed. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; came back while the people were praying; and approached and joined the row. People clapped; but Abu Bakr did not turn round. The people increased their clapping; and Abu Bakr turned round and saw the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; indicated to him to stay in his place. Abu Bakr raised his hands and praised Allah that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; had told him to do that. Then he drew back until he was in the row; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; stepped forward and led the prayer. When he had finished he said; Abu Bakr; what stopped you from staying put like I told you? Abu Bakr said; It is not for Ibn Abi Quhafa to pray in front of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Why did I see you all clapping so much? If something happens to you in the prayer you should say Subhana-llah Glory be to Allah ; and when you say Subhana-llah you will be heard. Clapping is only for women. The Chapter on Prayers Rows And Clapping The Hands in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Shortening the Prayer in Muwata Malik

If you wish; I will stay with you for seven nights as I stayed seven nights with the others. If you wish; I will stay with you for three nights; and then visit the others in turn. MuwataMalik-017-001-35449Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from Abu Salih AlSamman from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Had I not been concerned for my community; I would have liked never to stay behind a raiding party going out in the way of Allah. However; I do not find the means to carry them to it; nor do they find anything on which to ride out and it is grievous for them that they should stay behind me. I would like to fight in the way of Allah and be killed; then brought to life so I could be killed and then brought to life so I could be killed. The Chapter on Life And Death And Martyrs in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Divorce in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35795Yahya related to me from Malik; from Abdullah Ibn Dinar; that Abdullah Ibn Umar used to say; Anyone that does umra in the months of hajj; that is; in Shawal; Dh AlQada; or in Dhu AlHijja before the hajj; and then stays in Makka until the time for hajj; is doing tamattu if he then does hajj. He must sacrifice whatever animal it is easy for him to obtain; and if he cannot find one then he must fast three days during hajj and seven days when he returns. Malik said; This is only the case if he stays until the hajj and does hajj in that same year. Malik said that if someone who was from Makka but had stopped living there and gone to live elsewhere; came back to do umra in the months of the hajj and then stayed in Makka to begin hajj there; he was doing tamattu; and had to offer up a sacrificial animal; or fast if he could not find one. He was not the same as the people of Makka. Malik was asked whether someone who was not from Makka and entered Makka to do umra in the months of hajj with the intention of staying on to begin his hajj there was doing tamattu or not; and he said; Yes; he is doing tamattu; and he is not the same as the people of Makka; even if he has the intention of staying there. This is because he has entered Makka; and is not one of its people; and making a sacrifice or fasting is incumbent on anyone who is not from Makka; and; although he intends to stay; he does not know what possibilities might arise later. He is not one of the people of Makka. The Chapter on Hajj Altamattu in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35797Malik said; Someone who does umra in Shawal; Dh AlQada or Dhu AlHijja and then goes back to his people; and then returns and does hajj in that same year does not have to sacrifice an animal. Sacrificing an animal is only incumbent on some one who does umra in the months of hajj; and then stays in Makka and then does hajj. A person not from Makka who moves to Makka and establishes his home there and does umra in the months of the hajj and then begins his hajj there is not doing tamattu. He does not have to sacrifice an animal nor does he have to fast. He is in the same position as the people of Makka if he is one of those who are living there. Malik was asked whether a man from Makka who had gone to live in another town or had been on a journey and then returned to Makka with the intention of staying there; regardless of whether he had a family there or not; and entered it to do umra in the months of the hajj; and then began his hajj there; beginning his umra at the miqat of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; or at a place nearer than that; was doing tamattu or not? Malik answered; He does not have to sacrifice an animal or fast as someone who is doing tamattu has to do. This is because Allah; the Blessed and Exalted; says in His Book; That is for someone whose family are not present at Masjid AlHaram. The Chapter on Hajj Altamattu in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35972Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah Ibn Abi Bakr from his father that Abu Salama Ibn Abdulrahman told him that Umm Sulaym bint Milhan asked the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; for advice one time when she had begun menstruating; or had given birth to a child after she had done tawaf Alifada on the Day of Sacrifice. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave her permission to leave. Malik said; A woman menstruating at Mina stays until she has done tawaf of the House. There is no escape from that for her. If she has already done the tawaf Alifada and she starts to menstruate afterwards; she may leave for her country; since permission for the menstruating women to leave has been transmitted to us from the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He added; If a woman starts her period at Mina before she does the tawaf Alifada; and the period lasts longer than usual; she has to stay longer than the time that bleeding would usually detain women. The Chapter on Menstruation And Tawaf in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36216Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Said Ibn AlMusayab that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; travelled by night on the way back from Khaybar.Towards the end of the night he stopped for a rest and told Bilal to stay awake to keep watch for the subh prayer. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and his companions slept. Bilal stayed on guard as long as was decreed for him and then he leant against his riding camel facing the direction of the dawn and sleep overcame him and neither he nor the Messenger of Allah nor any of the party woke up until the sun rays had struck them. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was alarmed. Bilal excused himself; saying; Messenger of Allah! The One who took your self was the One who took myself. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered the party to move on and so they roused thei r mounts and rode on a short distance. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered Bilal to give the iqama and then led them in the subh prayer. When he had finished he said; Anyone who forgets a prayer should pray it when he remembers. Allah theBlessed and Exalted says in His book; Establish the prayer to remember Me.The Chapter on Journeys And Travel And Camels in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Qibla in Muwata Malik
