SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1253Narrated Thabit AlBunani: Anas Bin Malik said to a woman of his family; Do you know such-and-such a woman? She replied; Yes. He said; The Prophet ﷺ passed by her while she was weeping over a grave; and he said to her; Be afraid of Allah and be patient. The woman said to the Prophet. Go away from me; for you do not know my calamity. Anas added; The Prophet ﷺ left her and proceeded. A man passed by her and asked her; What has Allah Messenger ﷺ said to you? She replied; I did not recognize him. The man said; He was Allah Messenger ﷺ. Anas added; So that woman came to the gate of the Prophet ﷺ and she did not find a gate-keeper there; and she said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah. I did not recognize you! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1269Narrated Abu Qatada: Allah Messenger ﷺ said on the Day of the battle of Hunain; Whoever has killed an infidel and has a proof or a witness for it; then the salb arms and belongings of that deceased will be for him. I stood up to seek a witness to testify that I had killed an infidel but I could not find any witness and then sat down. Then I thought that I should mention the case to Allah Messenger ﷺ I and when I did so a man from those who were sitting with him said; The arms of the killed person he has mentioned; are with me; so please satisfy him on my behalf. Abu Bakr said; No; he will not give the arms to a bird of Quraish and deprive one of Allah lions of it who fights for the cause of Allah and His Apostle. Allah Messenger ﷺ I stood up and gave it to me; and I bought a garden with its price; and that was my first property which I owned through the war booty. The people of Hijaz said; A judge should not pass a judgment according to his knowledge; whether he was a witness at the time he was the judge or before that And if a litigant gives a confession in favor of his opponent in the court; in the opinion of some scholars; the judge should not pass a judgment against him till the latter calls two witnesses to witness his confession. And some people of Iraq said; A judge can pass a judgement according to what he hears or witnesses the litigant confession in the court itself; but if the confession takes place outside the court; he should not pass the judgment unless two witnesses witness the confession. Some of them said; A judge can pass a judgement depending on his knowledge of the case as he is trust-worthy; and that a witness is Required just to reveal the truth. The judge knowledge is more than the witness. Some said; A judge can judge according to his knowledge only in cases involving property; but in other cases he cannot. AlQasim said; A judge ought not to pass a judgment depending on his knowledge if other people do not know what he knows; although his knowledge is more than the witness of somebody else because he might expose himself to suspicion by the Muslims and cause the Muslims to have unreasonable doubt. The Chapter on Worship And Judgment Day in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If a judge has to witness in favour of a litigant in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1279Narrated Umm Salamah : the wife of the Prophet Allah Messenger ﷺ heard some people quarreling at the door of his dwelling; so he went out to them and said; I am only a human being; and litigants with cases of dispute come to me; and someone of you may happen to be more eloquent in presenting his case than the other; whereby I may consider that he is truthful and pass a judgment in his favor. If ever I pass a judgment in favor of somebody whereby he takes a Muslim right unjustly; then whatever he takes is nothing but a piece of Fire; and it is up to him to take or leave. The Chapter on Hell Fire And Evil in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Whoever is given the right of his brother through a judicial decision in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1387Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; The Hour will not be established 1 till two big groups fight each other whereupon there will be a great number of casualties on both sides and they will be following one and the same religious doctrine; 2 till about thirty Dajjals liars appear; and each one of them will claim that he is Allah Messenger ﷺ ; 3 till the religious knowledge is taken away by the death of Religious scholars 4 earthquakes will increase in number 5 time will pass quickly; 6 afflictions will appear; 7 AlHarj; i.e.; killing will increase; 8 till wealth will be in abundance -- so abundant that a wealthy person will worry lest nobody should accept his Zakat; and whenever he will present it to someone; that person to whom it will be offered will say; I am not in need of it; 9 till the people compete with one another in constructing high buildings; 10 till a man when passing by a grave of someone will say; Would that I were in his place 11 and till the sun rises from the West. So when the sun will rise and the people will see it rising from the West they will all believe embrace Islam but that will be the time when: As Allah said; No good will it do to a soul to believe then; if it believed not before; nor earned good by deeds of righteousness through its Faith. 6.158 And the Hour will be established while two men spreading a garment in front of them but they will not be able to sell it; nor fold it up; and the Hour will be established when a man has milked his camel and has taken away the milk but he will not be able to drink it; and the Hour will be established before a man repairing a tank for his livestock is able to water his animals in it; and the Hour will be established when a person has raised a morsel of food to his mouth but will not be able to eat it.The Chapter on Hour And Aldajjal in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Chapter in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2148Narrated Sahl Bin Saad AlSaid: A man passed by Allah Messenger ﷺ and the Prophet ﷺ asked a man sitting beside him; What is your opinion about this passer-by ? He replied; This passer-by is from the noble class of people. By Allah; if he should ask for a lady hand in marriage; he ought to be given her in marriage; and if he intercedes for somebody; his intercession will be accepted. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept quiet; and then another man passed by and Allah Messenger ﷺ asked the same man his companion again; What is your opinion about this second one? He said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! This person is one of the poor Muslims. If he should ask a lady hand in marriage; no-one will accept him; and if he intercedes for somebody; no one will accept his intercession; and if he talks; no-one will listen to his talk. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; This poor man is better than such a large number of the first type i.e. rich men as to fill the earth. The Chapter on Allah And Prophets And Comanions in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The superiority of being poor in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2153Narrated Abu Huraira: By Allah except Whom none has the right to- be worshipped; sometimes I used to lay sleep on the ground on my liver abdomen because of hunger; and sometimes I used to bind a stone over my belly because of hunger. One day I sat by the way from where they the Prophet ﷺ and h is companions used to come out. When Abu Bakr passed by; I asked him about a Verse from Allah Book and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger; but he passed by and did not do so. Then Umar passed by me and I asked him about a Verse from Allah Book; and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger; but he passed by without doing so. Finally Abu AlQasim the Prophet ﷺ passed by me and he smiled when he saw me; for he knew what was in my heart and on my face. He said; O Aba Hirr Abu Huraira ! I replied; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said to me; Follow me. He left and I followed him. Then he entered the house and I asked permission to enter and was admitted. He found milk in a bowl and said; From where is this milk? They said; It has been presented to you by such-and-such man or by such and such woman. He said; O Aba Hirr! I said; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Go and call the people of Suffa to me. These people of Suffa were the guests of Islam who had no families; nor money; nor anybody to depend upon; and whenever an object of charity was brought to the Prophet ﷺ ; he would send it to them and would not take anything from it; and whenever any present was given to him; he used to send some for them and take some of it for himself. The order off the Prophet upset me; and I said to myself; How will this little milk be enough for the people of AlSuffa? thought I was more entitled to drink from that milk in order to strengthen myself; but behold! The Prophet ﷺ came to order me to give that milk to them. I wondered what will remain of that milk for me; but anyway; I could not but obey Allah and His Apostle so I went to the people of AlSuffa and called them; and they came and asked the Prophet permission to enter. They were admitted and took their seats in the house. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Aba Hirr! I said; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Take it and give it to them. So I took the bowl of Milk and started giving it to one man who would drink his fill and return it to me; whereupon I would give it to another man who; in his turn; would drink his fill and return it to me; and I would then offer it to another man who would drink his fill and return it to me. Finally; after the whole group had drunk their fill; I reached the Prophet ﷺ who took the bowl and put it on his hand; looked at me and smiled and said. O Aba Hirr! I replied; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; There remain you and I. I said; You have said the truth; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Sit down and drink. I sat down and drank. He said; Drink; and I drank. He kept on telling me repeatedly to drink; till I said; No. by Allah Who sent you with the Truth; I have no space for it in my stomach. He said; Hand it over to me. When I gave him the bowl; he praised Allah and pronounced Allah Name on it and drank the remaining milk. The Chapter on Boiling Drinks in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How the Prophet and his Companions used to live in Sahih AlBukhari

And then I looked and saw a large multitude of people; so I asked Gabriel; Are these people my followers? He said; No; but look towards the horizon. I looked and saw a very large multitude of people. Gabriel said. Those are your followers; and those are seventy thousand persons in front of them who will neither have any reckoning of their accounts nor will receive any punishment. I asked; Why? He said; For they used not to treat themselves with branding cauterization nor with Ruqya get oneself treated by the recitation of some Verses of the Quran and not to see evil omen in things; and they used to put their trust only in their Lord. On hearing that; Ukasha Bin Mihsan got up and said to the Prophet ; Invoke Allah to make me one of them. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Allah; make him one of them. Then it was said to me; Look there and there about the stretching sky! Behold! Then the Prophet ﷺ entered his house without telling his companions who they the 70;000 were. So the people started talking about the issue and said; It is we who have believed in Allah and followed His Apostle; therefore those people are either ourselves or our children who are born m the Islamic era; for we were born in the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance. When the Prophet ﷺ heard of that; he came out and said. Those people are those who do not treat themselves with Ruqya; nor do they believe in bad or good omen from birds etc. nor do they get themselves branded Cauterized. but they put their trust only in their Lord On that Ukasha Bin Muhsin said. When this news reached the Prophet ﷺ he called the Ansar and said; What is this news that has reached me from you? They used not to tell lies; so they replied; What has reached you is true. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3724Narrated Ibn Abbas: When Abu Dhar received the news of the Advent of the Prophet ﷺ he said to his brother; Ride to this valley of Mecca and try to find out the truth of the person who claims to be a prophet who is informed of the news of Heaven. Listen to what he says and come back to me. So his brother set out and came to the Prophet ﷺ and listened to some of his talks; and returned to Abu Dhar and said to him. I have seen him enjoining virtuous behavior and saying something that is not poetry. Abu Dhar said; You have not satisfied me as to what I wanted. He then took his journey-food and carried a waterskin of his; containing some water till be reached Mecca. He went to the Masjid and searched for the Prophet and though he did not know him; he hated to ask anybody about him. When a part of the night had passed away; Ali saw him and knew that he was a stranger. So when Abu Dhar saw Ali; he followed him; and none of them asked his companion about anything; and when it was dawn; Abu Dhar took his journey food and his water-skin to the Masjid and stayed there all the day long without being perceived by the Prophet; and when it was evening; he came back to his retiring place. Ali passed by him and said; Has the man not known his dwelling place yet? So Ali awakened him and took him with him and none of them spoke to the other about anything. When it was the third day. Ali did the same and Abu Dhar stayed with him. Then Ali said Will you tell me what has brought you here? Abu Dhar said; If you give me a firm promise that you will guide me; then I will tell you. Ali promised him; and he informed Ali about the matter. Ali said; It is true; and he is the Messenger of Allah. Next morning when you get up; accompany me; and if I see any danger for you; I will stop as if to pass water; but if I go on; follow me and enter the place which I will enter. Abu Dhar did so; and followed Ali till he entered the place of the Prophet; and Abu Dhar went in with him; Abu Dhar listened to some of the Prophet talks and embraced Islam on the spot. The Prophet ﷺ said to him; Go back to your people and inform them about it till you receive my order. Abu Dhar said; By Him in Whose Hand my life is; I will proclaim my conversion loudly amongst them i.e. the pagans. So he went out; and when he reached the Masjid; he said as loudly as possible; I bear witness that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. The People got up and beat him painfully. Then AlAbbas came and knelt over him to protect him and said to the people ; Woe to you! Dont you know that this man belongs to the tribe of Ghifar and your trade to Sham is through their way? So he rescued him from them. Abu Dhar again did the same the next day. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4139Narrated Anas ra : Abu Dhar ra used to say that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; While I was at Makkah; the roof of my house was opened and Jibril descended; opened my chest; and washed it with Zamzam water. Then he brought a golden tray full of wisdom and faith; and having poured its contents into my chest; he closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the heaven. When Jibril reached the nearest heaven; he said to the gatekeeper of the heaven; Open the gate. The gatekeeper asked; who is it? Jibril answered; Jibril. He asked; Is there anyone with you? Jibril replied; Muhammad ﷺ is with me. He asked; Has he been called?; Jibril said; Yes. So; the gate was opened and we went over the nearest heaven; and there we saw a man sitting with Aswida a large number of people of his right and Aswida on his left. When he looked towards his right; he laughed and when he looked towards his left he wept. He said to me ; Welcome; O pious Prophet and pious son. I said; Who is this man O Jibril? Jibril replied; He is Adam; and the people on his right and left are the souls of his offspring. Those on the right are the people of Paradise; and those on the left are the people of the Hell Fire. So; when he looks to the right; he laughs; and when he looks to the left he weeps. Then Jibril ascended with me till he reached the second heaven and said to the gatekeeper; Open the gate. The gatekeeper said to him the same as the gatekeeper of the first heaven has said; and he opened the gate.Anas added: Abu Dhar mentioned that Prophet ﷺ met Idris; Mousa Moses ; Isa Jesus and Ibrahim Abraham over the heavens; but he did not specify their places i.e.; on which heavens each of them was ; but he mentioned that he the Prophet ﷺ had met Adam on the nearest heaven; and Ibrahim on the sixth. Anas said; When Jibril and the Prophet ﷺ passed by Idris; the latter said; Welcome; O pious Prophet and pious brother! the Prophet ﷺ asked; Who is he? Jibril said; He is Idris. The Prophet ﷺ added; Then I passed by Mousa who said; Welcome; O pious Prophet and pious brother! I said; Who is he? Jibril said; He is Mousa. Then I passed by Isa who said; Welcome; O pious Prophet and pious brother! I said; Who is he? He replied; He is Isa. Then I passed by the Prophet ﷺ Ibrahim who said; Welcome; O pious Prophet and pious son! I said; Who is he? Jibril replied; He is Ibrahim.Narrated Ibn Abbas and Abu Haiya AlAnsari: The Prophet ﷺ said; Then Jibril ascended with me to a place where I heard the creaking of pens. Ibn Hazm and Anas Bin Malik state the Prophet ﷺ said; Allah enjoined fifty Prayer prayers on me. When I returned with this order of Allah; I passed by Mousa who asked me; What has Allah enjoined on your followers? I replied; He has enjoined fifty Prayer prayers on them. On the Mousa said to me; Go back to your Lord and appeal for reduction ; for your followers will not be able to bear it. So; I returned to my Lord and asked for some reduction; and He reduced it to half. When I passed by Mousa again and informed him about it; he once more said to me; Go back to your Lord; for your followers will not be able to bear it. So; I returned to my Lord similarly as before; and half of it was reduced. I again passed by Mousa and he said to me; Go back to your Lord; for your followers will not be able to bear it. I again returned to my Lord and He said; These are five Prayer prayer and they are all equal to fifty in reward ; for My Word does not change. I returned to Mousa; he again told me to return to my Lord for further reduction but I said to him I feel shy of asking my Lord now. Then Jibril took me till we reached Sidrat AlMuntaha i.e.; lote tree of utmost boundary which was shrouded in colors indescribable. Then I was admitted into Paradise where I found small tents made of pearls and its earth was musk a kind of perfume. The Chapter on Heaven And The Sidrah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The reference to Idris alayhissalam in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-17903It has been narrated on the authority of Sulaiman Bin Yasar who said: People dispersed from around Abu Huraira; and Natil; who was from the Syrians. said to him: O Shaikh; relate to us a tradition you have heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The first of men whose case will be decided on the Day of Judgment will be a man who died as a martyr. He shall be brought before the Judgment Seat. Allah will make him recount His blessings i. e. the blessings which He had bestowed upon him and he will recount them and admit having enjoyed them in his life. Then will Allah say: What did you do to requite these blessings ? He will say: I fought for Thee until I died as a martyr. Allah will say: You have told a lie. You fought that you might be called a brave warrior. And you were called so. Then orders will be passed against him and he will be dragged with his face downward and cast into Hell. Then will be brought forward a man who acquired knowledge and imparted it to others and recited the Quran. He will be brought And Allah will make him recount His blessings and he will recount them and admit having enjoyed them in his lifetime. Then will Allah ask: What did you do to requite these blessings ? He will say: I acquired knowledge and disseminated it and recited the Quran seeking Thy pleasure. Allah will say: You have told a lie. You acquired knowledge so that you might be called a scholar; and you recited the Quran so that it might be said: He is a Qari and such has been said. Then orders will be passed against him and he shall be dragged with his face downward and cast into the Fire. Then will be brought a man whom Allah had made abundantly rich and had granted every kind of wealth. He will be brought and Allah will make him recount His blessings and he will recount them and admit having enjoyed them in his lifetime. Allah will then ask: What have you done to requite these blessings ? He will say: I spent money in every cause in which Thou wished that it should be spent. Allah will say: You are lying. You did so that it might be said about You : He is a generous fellow and so it was said. Then will Allah pass orders and he will be dragged with his face downward and thrown into Hell. The Chapter on Life And Death And Islam in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 43 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18710Abu AlAliya narrated it on the authority of Ibn Abbas that he said: We travelled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ between Mecca and Medina and we passed by a valley. He the Holy Prophet asked: Which valley is this? They said: This is the valley of Azraq Upon this he the Holy Prophet remarked: I feel as if I am seeing Moses ﷺ ; and then he described something about his complexion and hair; which Diwud the narrator could not remember. He Moses; as described by the Holy Prophet was keeping his fingers in his ears and was responding loudly to Allah saying: I am as Thy service; my Lord while passing through that valley. We then travelled further till we came to the mountain trail. He the Holy Prophet said: Which mountain trail is this? They said: It is the Harsha or Lift. He the Holy Prophet said: I perceive as if I am seeing Yunus on a red camel; with a cloak of wool around him. The halter of his camel was that of the fibre of date-palm; and he was passing through the valley saying: I am at Thy service! my Lord. The Chapter on Facts And Aldajjal in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 74 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18772It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira and Hudhaifa that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah; the Blessed and Exalted; would gather people. The believers would stand till the Paradise would be brought near them. They would come to Adam and say: O our father; open for us the Paradise. He would say: What turned ye out from the Paradise was the sin of your father Adam. I am not in a position to do that; better go to my son Ibrahim; the Friend of Allah. He the Holy Prophet said: He Ibrahim would say: I am not in a position to do that. Verily I had been the Friend of Allah from beyond; beyond; you better approach Moses ﷺ with whom Allah conversed. They would come to Moses ﷺ ; but he would say: I am not in a position to do that; you better go to Jesus; the Word of Allah and His Spirit. Jesus ﷺ would say: I am not in a position to do that. So they would come to Muhammad ﷺ. He would then be permitted to open the door of Paradise. Trustworthiness and kinship would be despatched; and these would stand on the right and left of the Path and the first of you would pass with the swiftness of lightning. He the narrator said: I said; O thou who art far dearer to me than my father and my mother I which thing is like the passing of lightning? He said: Have you not seen lightning; how it passes and then comes back within the twinkling of an eye? Then they would pass like the passing of the wind; then like the passing of a bird; and the hastening of persons would be according to their deeds; and your Apostle would be standing on the Path saying: Save; O my Lord; save. The people would go on passing till the deeds of the servants would be failing in strength; till a man would come who would find it hard to go along that Path but crawlingly. He the narrator said: And on the sides of the Path hooks would be suspended ready to catch anyone whom these would be required to catch. There would be those who would somehow or other succeed in trasversing that Path and some would be piled up in Hell. By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Abu Huraira it would take one seventy years to fathom the depth of Hell. The Chapter on Friday And Supplications in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 84 in Sahih Muslim

SahihMuslim-017-001-19021AlBara Bin Azib reported that Abu Bakr AlSiddiq came to the residence of my father Azib and bought a haudaj from him and said to Azib: Send your son to my residence to carry this haudaj ; and my father said to me: Carry it for him. So I carried it and there went along with him with Abu Bakr my father in order to fetch its price and he Azib said to Abu Bakr: Abu Bakr; narrate to me what you both did on the night when you set out on a journey along with Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said: We set out during the night and went on walking until it was noon; and the path was vacant and so none passed by that until there appeared prominently before us a large rock. It had its shade and the rays of the sun did not reach that place. So we got down at that place. I then went to the rock and levelled the ground with my hands at the place where the Prophet ﷺ would take rest under its shade. I then set the bedding and said: Allah Messenger; go to sleep and I shall keep a watch around you. I went out and watched around him. There we saw a shepherd moving towards that rock with his flock and he intended what we intended i. e. taking rest. I met him and said to him: Young boy; to which place do you belong? He said: I am a person from Medina. I said; is there any milk in the udders of your sheep and goats? He said: Yes. He took hold of a goat; and I said to him: Clean the udder well so that it should be free from hair; dust and impurity. I saw AlBara striking his hand upon the other to give an indication how he did that. He milked the goat for me in a wooden cup which he had with him and I had with me a bucket in which I kept water for drinking and for performing ablution. I came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and did not like to awaken him from sleep but he was accidentally startled from the sleep. I poured water upon the milk till It was cold and I said: Allah Messenger; take this milk. He then took It and I was delighted and he the Holy Prophet said: Is now not the time to march on? I said: Of course. So he marched on after the sun had passed the meridian and Suraqa Bin Malik pursued us and we had been walking on soft; level ground. I said: Allah Messenger; we are about to be overtaken by them. Thereupon he said: Be not grieved. Verily; Allah is with us. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ cursed him and his horse sank into the earth. I think he also said: I know you have hurled curse upon me. So supplicate Allah for me and I take an oath that I shall turn everyone away who would come in search of you. So he Allah Messenger supplicated Allah and he was rescued and he came back and to everyone he met; he said: I have combed all this side. In short; he diverted everyone whom he met and he in fact fulfilled his promise. The Chapter on Milk in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 19 in Sahih Muslim

SahihMuslim-017-001-19680Abu Huraira reported Allah Apostle ﷺ as saying: None spoke in the cradle but only three persons ; Christ son of Mary; the second one the companion of Juraij. Juraij had got constructed a temple and confined himself in that. His mother came to him as he was busy in prayer and she said: Juraij. He said: My Lord; my mother is calling me while I am engaged in my prayer. He continued with the prayer. She returned and she came on the next day and he was busy in prayer; and she said: Juraij. And he said: My Lord; my mother is calling me while I am engaged in prayer; and he continued with the prayer and she went back; and then on the next day she again came and he was busy in prayer and she said: Juraij. And he said: My Lord; my mother is calling me while I am engaged in my prayer; and he continued with the prayer; and she said: My Lord; dont give him death unless he has seen the fate of the prostitutes. The story of Juraij and that of his meditation and prayer gained currency amongst Bani Israil. There was a prostitute who had been a beauty incarnate. She said to the people : If you like I can allure him to evil. She presented herself to him but he paid no heed to her. She came to a shepherd who lived near the temple and she offered herself to him and he had a sexual intercourse with her and so she became pregnant arid when she gave birth to a child she said: This is from Juraij. So they came and asked him to get down and demolished the temple and began to beat him. He said: What is the matter? They said: You have committed fornication with this prostitute and she has given birth to a child from your loins. He said: Where is the child? They brought him the child and he said: just leave me so that I should observe prayer. And he observed prayer and when he finished; he came to the child. He struck his stomach and said: O boy; who is your father? lie said: He is such shepherd. So they turned towards Juraij; kissed him and touched him for seeking blessing and said: We are prepared to construct your temple with gold. He said. No; just rebuild it with mud as it had been; and they did that. Then there was a babe who was sucking his mother that a person dressed in fine garment came riding upon a beast. His mother said: O Allah; make my child like this one. He the babe left sucking and began to see towards him; and said: O Allah; dont make me like him. He then returned to the chest and began to suck the milk of his mother. He Abu Huraira said: I perceived as if I am seeing Allah Messenger ﷺ as he is explaining the scene of his sucking milk with his forefinger in his mouth and sucking that. He Abu Huraira further reported Allah Apostle may be peace upon him as saying: There happened to pass by him a girl who was being beaten and they were saying: You have committed adultery and you have committed theft and she was saying: Allah is enough for me and He is my good Protector; and his mother said: O Allah; dont make my child like her and he left sucking the milk; and looked towards her and said: O Allah; make me like her; and there was a talk between them. She said: O with shaven head; a good-looking person happened to pass by and I said: O Allah; make my child like him; and you said: O Allah; dont make me like him; and they passed by a girl while they were beating her and saying: You committed fornication and you committed theft; and I said: O Allah; dont make my child like her; and you said: O Allah; make me like her. Thereupon he said: That person was a tyrant; and I said: O Allah; dont make me like him; and they were saying about her: You committed fornication whereas in fact she had not committed that and they were saying: You have committed theft whereas she had not committed theft; so I said: O Allah; make me like her.The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery And Family in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 2 in Sahih Muslim

The Quraish passed by it and other people too; that Abdullah Bin Umar happened to pass by it. He stood up there and said: May there be peace upon you; Abu Khubaib the Kunya of Hadrat Abdullah Bin AlZubair ; may there be peace upon you Abu Khubaib; may there be peace upon you; Abu Khubaib! By Allah; I used to forbid you from this; by Allah; I used to forbid you from this; by Allah I used to forbid you from this. By Allah; so far as I know; you had been very much devoted to fasting and prayer and you had been paying very much care to cementing the ties of blood. By Allah; the group to which you belong are labelled as a wicked person is indeed a fine group. Then Abdullah Bin Umar went away. The stand Abdullah Bin Umar took in regard to the inhuman treatment meted out to Abdullah Bin AlZubair and his words in that connection were conveyed to AlHajjaj Bin Yousif and as a consequence of that he the body of Abdullah Bin AlZubair was brought down from the stump the scaffold by which it was hanging and thrown into the graves of the Jews. He AlHajjaj sent his messenger to Asma bint Abu Bakr; Abdullah mother. But she refused to come. He again sent the messenger to her with the message that she must come; otherwise he would bring her forcibly catching hold of her hair. But she again refused and said: By Allah; I will not come to you until you send one to me who would drag me by pulling my hair. Thereupon he said: Bring me my shoes. He put on his shoes and walked on quickly swollen with vanity and pride until he came to her and said: How do you find what I have done with the enemy of Allah? She said: I find that you wronged him in this world; whereas he has spoiled your next life. It has been conveyed to me that you used to call him Abdullah Bin AlZubair as the son of one having two belts. By Allah; I am indeed a woman of two belts. One is that with the help of which I used to suspend high the food of Allah Messenger ﷺ and that of Abu Bakr making it out of the reach of animals and; so far as the second belt is concerned; that is the belt which no woman can dispense with. Verily Allah Messenger ﷺ told us that in Thaqif; there would be born a great liar and great murderer. The liar we have seen; and as far as the murderer is concerned; I do not find anyone else besides you. Thereupon he AlHajjaj stood up and did not give any reply to her.The Chapter on Funerals And Invokation in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 58 in Sahih Muslim

SahihMuslim-017-001-22088Abu Said AlKhudri reported: Ali Bin Abu Talib sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Yemen some gold alloyed with clay in a leather bag dyed in the leaves of Mimosa flava. He distributed it among four men. Uyaina Bin Housna; Aqra Bin Habis and Zaid AlKhail; and the fourth one was either Alqama Bin Ulatha or Amir Bin Tufail. A person from among his Prophets Companions said: We had a better claim to this wealth than these persons. This remark reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon which he said: Will you not trust me; whereas I am a trustee of Him Who is in the heaven? The news come to me from the heaven morning and evening. Then there stood up a person with deep sunken eyes; prominent cheek bones; and elevated forehead; thick beard; shaven head; tucked up loincloth; and he said: Messenger of Allah; fear Allah. He the Holy Prophet said: Woe to thee. Do I not deserve most to fear Allah amongst the people of the earth? That man then returned. Khalid Bin Walid then said: Messenger of Allah; should I not strike his neck? Upon this he the Holy Prophet said: Perhaps he may be observing the prayer. Khalid said: How many observers of prayer are there who profess with their tongue what is not in their heart? Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I have not been commanded to pierce through the hearts of people; nor to split their bellies insides. He again looked at him and he was going back. Upon this he the Holy Prophet said: There would arise a people from the progeny of this man who would recite the Quran glibly; but it would not go beyond their throats; they would hurriedly pass through the teachings of their religion just as the arrow passes through the prey. I conceive that he the Holy Prophet also said this: If I find them I would certainly kill them as were killed the people of Thamud. The Chapter on Games And Hunting And Striking in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 47 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-22092Abu Said AlKhudri reported: When we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was distributing the spoils of war; there came to him Dh AlKhuwasira; one of Banu Tamim. He said: Messenger of Allah; do justice. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Woe be upon thee! Who would do justice; if I do not do justice? You would be unsuccessful and incurring a loss; if I do not do justice. Upon this Umar Bin AlKhattab Allah be pleased with him said: Messenger of Allah; permit me to strike off his neck. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Leave him; for he has friends who would outwardly look to be so religious and pious that everyone among you would consider his prayer insignificant as compared with their prayer; and his fast as compared with their fasts. They would recite the Quran but it would not go beyond their collar-bones. They would pass through the teachings of Islam so hurriedly just as the arrow passes through the prey. He would look at its Iron head; but would not find anything ticking there. He would then see at the lowest end; but would not find anything sticking there. He would then see at its grip but would not find anything sticking to it. He would then see at its feathers and he would find nothing sticking to them as the arrow would pass so quickly that nothing would stick to it neither excrement nor blood. They would be recognised by the presence of a black man among them whose upper arms would be like a woman breast; or like a piece of meat as it quivers; and they would come forth at the time when there is dissension among the people. Abu Said said: I testify to the fact that I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and I testify to the fact that Ali Bin Abu Talib fought against them and I was with him. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9719Abu Huraira narrated: The people of AlSuffah were the guests of the people of Islam;they had nothing of people nor wealth to rely upon. And By Allah; the One Whom there is none worthy of worship besides Him I would lay on the ground on my liver side due to hunger; And I would fasten a stone to my stomach out of hunger. One day I sat by the way that they the Companions use to come out through. Abu Bakr passed and so I asked him about an Ayah from Allah Book; not asking him except that he might tell me to follow him for something to eat. But he passed on without doing so. Then Umar passed; so I asked him about an Ayah from Allah Book; not asking him except that he might tell me to follow him. But he passed on without doing so. Then Ab AlQasim s.a.w passed; and he smiled when he saw me; and said: Abu Huraira? I said: I am here O Messenger of Allah! He said: Come along. He continued and I followed him; he entered his house; so I sought permission to enter; and he permitted me. He found a bowl of milk and said: Where did this milk come from? It was said: It was a gift to us from so and so. So the Messenger of Allah s.a.w said: O Abu Huraira I said: I am here O Messenger of Allah! He said: Go to the people of AlSuffah to invite them. - Now; they were the guests of the people of Islam; they had nothing of people nor wealth to rely upon. Whenever some charity was brought to him; he would send it to them without using any of it. And when a gift was given to him s.a.w ; he would send for them to participate and share with him in it. I became upset about that; and I said to myself : What good will this bowl be among the people of AlSuffah and I am the one bringing it to them? Then he ordered me to circulate it among them So I wondered what of it would reach me from it; and I hoped that I would get from it what would satisfy me. But I would certainly not neglect to obey Allah and obey His Messenger; so I went to them and invited them. When they entered upon him they sat down. He said: Abu Huraira; take the bowl and give it to them. So I gave it to a man who drank his fill; then he gave it to another one; until it ended up with the Messenger of Allah s.a.w ; and all of the people had drank their fill. The Messenger of Allah s.a.w took the bowl; put it on his hand;then raised his head. He smiled and said: Abu Huraira; drink. So I drank; then he said: Drink. I kept drinking and he kept on saying; Drink. Then I said: By the One Who sent you with the truth! I have no more space for it. So he took the bowl and praised Allah; mentioned His Name and drank. He went out with him; driving his camels and another man from Banu Hashim passed by them. The leather rope of that man bag broke; so he said to the hired worker : Help me by giving me a rope with which to tie the handle of my bag; lest the camels run away from me. So he gave him a rope and he tied his gab with it. When they halted; all the camels legs were hobbled except one camel. The one who had hired him said: Why is his camel; out of all of them; not hobbled? He said: There is no rope for it. He said: Where is its rope? He said: A man from Banu Hashim passed by and the leather rope of his bag had broken; and he asked me to help him; he said: Help me by giving me a rope with which to tie the handle of my bag lest the camels run away from me; so I gave him a rope. And they said: Here is Quraish. He said: O family of Banu Hashim! They said: Here is Banu Hashim. He said Where is Abu Talib? He said: Here is Abu Talib. He said: so and so asked me to convey a message to you; that so and so killed him for a camel rope. Abu Talib went to him and said Choose one of three alternatives that we are offering you. If you wish; you may give us one hundred camels; because you killed our companion by mistake: or if you wish; fifty of your men may swear an oath that you did not kill him; or if you wish; we will kill you in retaliation. He went to his people and told them about that; and they said: We will swear the oath. The Prophet ﷺ appointed Ali as governor in a certain part of Yemen. Her husband also proceeded with him. From there he sent a message to her pronouncing one divorce that had yet remained. He commanded Ayash Bin Abi Rabiah and AlHarith Bin Hisham to provide maintenance to her. They said By Allah there is no sustenance for her except in case she is pregnant. She came to the Prophet ﷺ who said There is no sustenance for you except in case you are pregnant. She then asked permission to shift from her house and he gave her permission. She asked Where should I shift. Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said to Ibn Umm Maktum. He was blind. She would undress herself and he could not see her. She lived there till her waiting period passed. The Prophet ﷺ married her to Usamah. Qabisah then returned to Marwan and narrated that to him. Marwan said We did not hear this tradition except from a woman; so we shall follow the reliable practice on which we found the people. When this reached Fatimah she said between me and you is the Book of Allah. Allaah the exalted said Divorce them for their waiting period... Thou knowest not it may be that Allaah will afterward bring some new thing to pass. A man asked: What is the good of doing anything; Messenger of Allah? SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25985Salamah Bin Kuhail said: Zaid Bin Wahb AlJuhani told us that he was in the army which proceeded to fight with the Khawarij in the company of Ali. Ali then said: O people! I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: there will appear from among my community people who recite the Quran; and your recitation has no comparison with their recitation; and your prayer has no comparison with their prayer; and your fasts have no comparison with their fasts. They will recite the Quran thinking that it is beneficial for them; while it is harmful for them. Their prayer will not pass their collar-bones. They will swerve from Islam as an arrow goes through the animal shot at. If the army that is approaching them knows what reward has been decided for them at the tongue of their Prophet ﷺ ; they would leave other good activities. The sign of that is that among them there will be a man who has an upper arm; but not hand; on his upper arm there will be something like the nipple of a female breast; having white hair thereon. Will you go to Muawiyah and the people of Syria; and leave them behind among your children and property? I swear by Allah; I hope these are the same people; for they shed the blood unlawfully; and attacked the cattle of the people so go on in the name of Allah. Salamah Bin Kuhail said: Zaid Bin Wahb then informed me of all the halting places one by one; saying : Until we passed a bridge. When we fought with each other; Abdullah Bin Wahb AlRasibi; who was the leader of the Khawarij; said to them: Throw away the lances and pull out the swords from their sheaths; for I am afraid they will adjure you as they had adjured on the day of Harura. So they threw away their lances and pulled out their swords; and the people pierced them with their lances. They were killed lying one on the other. On that day only two persons of the partisans of Ali were afflicted. Ali said: Search for the man with the crippled hand. But they could not find him. Then Ali got up himself and went to the people who had been killed and were lying on one another. He said: Take them out. They found him just near the ground. So he shouted: Allah is Most Great! He said: Allah spoke the truth; and His Apostle has conveyed. Ubaidat AlSalmani stood up to him; saying: Commander of the Faithful! Have you heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? There was in Damascus a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ ; called Ibn AlHanzaliyah. He was a recluse and rarely met the people. He remained engaged in prayer. When he was not praying he was occupied in glorifying Allah and exalting Him until he went to his family. Once he passed us when we were with AbudDarda. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out a contingent and it came back. One of the men came and sat in the place where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sit; and he said to a man beside him: Would that you saw us when we met the enemy and so-and-so attacked and cut through a lance. He said: Take it from me and I am a boy of the tribe Ghifar. What do you think about his statement? He replied: I think his reward was lost. Another man heard it and said: I do not think that there is any harm in it. They quarrelled until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard it; and he said: Glory be to Allah! There is no harm if he is rewarded and praised. I saw that AbudDarda was pleased with it and began to raise his hand to him and say: Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? He said: Yes. He continued to repeat it to him so often that I thought he was going to kneel down. He said: On another day he again passed us. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: One who spends on the maintenance of horses for jihad is like the one who spreads his hand to give alms sadaqah and does not withhold it. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does no harm to you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Khuraym AlAsadi would be a fine man were it not for the length of his hair; which reaches the shoulders; and the way he lets his lower garment hang down. When Khuraym heard that; he hurriedly; took a knife; cut his hair in line with his ears and raised his lower garment half way up his legs. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda said to him: tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: You are coming to your brethren; so tidy your mounts and tidy your dress; until you are like a mole among the people. Allah does not like obscene words or deeds; or do intentional committing of obscenity.Abu Dawud said: Similarly; Abu Nuaim narrated from Hisham. The Prophet ﷺ said: Are both of you blind? Do you not see him? Abu Dawud said: This was peculiar to the wives of the Prophet ﷺ. Do you not see that Fatimah daughter of Qays passed her waiting period with Ibn Umm Maktum. Muhammed refused so AlDahhak spoke about it to Umar Ibn AlKhattab; and Umar Ibn AlKhattab summoned Muhammad Ibn Maslama and ordered him to clear the way. MuwataMalik-017-001-35205Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Marwan Ibn AlHakam decided about a man who had made a vow to abstain from intercourse with his wife; that when four months had passed; it was a divorce and he could return to her as long as she was in her idda. Malik added; That was also the opinion of Ibn Shihab. Malik said that if a man made a vow to abstain from intercourse with his wife and at the end of four months he declared his intent to continue to abstain; he was divorced. He could go back to his wife; but if he did not have intercourse with her before the end of her idda; he had no access to her and he could not go back to her unless he had an excuse - illness; imprisonment; or a similar excuse. His return to her maintained her as his wife. If her idda passed and then he married her after that and did not have intercourse with her until four months had passed and he declared his intent to continue to abstain; divorce was applied to him by the first vow. If four months passed; and he had not returned to her; he had no idda against her nor access because he had married her and then divorced her before touching her. Malik said that a man who made a vow to abstain from intercourse with his wife and continued to abstain after four months and so divorced her; but then returned and did not touch her and four months were completed before her idda was completed; did not have to declare his intent and divorce did not befall him. If he had intercourse with her before the end of her idda; he was entitled to her. If her idda passed before he had intercourse with her; he had no access to her. This is what Malik preferred of what he had heard on the subject. Malik said that if a man made a vow to abstain from intercourse with his wife and then divorced her; and the four months of the vow were completed before completion of the idda of the divorce; it counted as two pronouncements of divorce. If he declared his intention to continue to abstain and the idda of the divorce finished before the four months the vow of abstention was not a divorce. That was because the four months had passed and she was not his on that day. Malik said; If someone makes a vow not to have intercourse with his wife for a day or a month and then waits until more than four months have passed; it is not ila. Ila only applies to someone who vows more than four months. As for the one who vows not to have intercourse with his wife for four months or less than that; I do not think that it is ila because when the term enters into it at which it stops; he comes out of his oath and he does not have to declare his intention. Malik said; If someone vows to his wife not to have intercourse with her until her child has been weaned; that is not ila. I have heard that Ali Ibn Abi Talib was asked about that and he did not think that it was ila.The Chapter on Wives And Relationship Sexual Intercourse in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Marriage in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35262Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Said Ibn AlMusayab said; The idda of the woman who bleeds constantly is a year. Malik said; What is done among us about a divorced woman whose periods stop when her husband divorces her is that she waits nine months. If she has not had a period in them; she has an idda of three months. If she has a period before the end of the three months; she accepts the period. If another nine months pass without her having a period; she does an idda of three months. If she has a second period before the end of those three months; she accepts the period. If nine months then pass without a period; she does an idda of three months. If she has a third period; the idda of the period is complete. If she does not have a period; she waits three months; and then she is free to marry. Her husband can return to her before she becomes free to marry unless he made her divorce irrevocable. Malik said; The sunna with us is that when a man divorces his wife and has the option to return to her; and she does part of her idda and then he returns to her and then parts from her before he has had intercourse with her; she does not add to what has passed of her idda. Her husband has wronged himself and erred if he returned to her and had no need of her. Malik said; What is done among us is that if a woman becomes a muslim while her husband is a kafir and then he becomes muslim; he is entitled to her as long as she is in her idda. If her idda is finished; he has no access to her. If he remarries her after the end of her idda; however; that is not counted as divorce. Islam removed her from him without divorce. The Chapter on Marriage And Entitlements in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Qirad in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35298Zaynab said; I heard my mother; Umm Salamah; the wife of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; say that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and said; Messenger of Allah! My daughter husband died; and her eyes are troubling her; can she put kohl on them? The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; No two or three times. Then he said; It is only four months and ten days. In the Aljahiliya; none of you threw away the piece of dung until a year had passed. Humayd Ibn Nafi said; I asked Zaynab to explain what throwing away the piece of dung at the end of a year meant. Zaynab said; In the Aljahiliya when a woman husband died; she went into a small tent and dressed in the worst of clothes. She did not touch perfume or anything until a year had passed. Then she was brought an animal - a donkey; a sheep; or a bird; and she would break her idda with it; by rubbing her body against it taftaddu. Rarely did she break her idda with anything by rubbing herself against it but that it died. Then she would come out and would be given a piece of dung. She would throw it away and then return to whatever she wished of perfumes or whatever. Malik explained; Taftaddu means to wipe her skin with it in the same way as with a healing charm. The Chapter on Marriage And Entitlements in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Sacrificial Animals in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35962Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya Ibn Said heard Ata Ibn Abi Rabah mentioning that the camel-herders were allowed to throw the stones at night; and saying that this was in the early period of Islam. Malik said; The explanation of the hadith where the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; allowed the camel-herders to delay the stoning of the jamras is; in our view; and Allah knows best; that they threw stones on the day of sacrifice; and then threw again two days later; which was the first possible day for leaving; and this throwing was for the day which had passed. They then threw again for the day itself; because it is only possible for someone to make up for something which is obligatory for him; and when something obligatory passes someone by without him doing it he must necessarily make it up afterwards and not beforehand. So in the case of the camel-herders ; if it seemed appropriate for them to leave that day; they would have done all that they were supposed to do; and if they were to stay until the following day; they would throw stones with everybody else on the second and last day for leaving; and then leave. The Chapter on Special Days And Forbidden Deeds in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35993Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah Ibn Abi Bakr Ibn Hazm from Ibn Abi Mulayka that Umar Ibn AlKhattab passed a leprous woman doing tawaf of the House; and he said to her; Slave of Allah; do not make people uneasy. Better that you stay in your house; so she did so. A man passed by her after that and said to her; The one who forbade you has died; so come out; and she replied; I am not going to obey him when he is alive and disobey him when he is dead. The Chapter on Leave in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36214Yahya related to me from Malik thatYahya Ibn Said used to say; Even if someone manages to pray before the time of the prayer has passed; the time that has passed him by is more important; or better; than his family and wealth. Yahya said that Malik said; If the time for a prayer comes and a traveller delays a prayer through neglect or forgetfulness until he reaches his family; he should do that prayer in full if he arrives within the time. But if he arrives when the time has past; he should do the travelling prayer. That way he only repays what he owes. Malik said; This is what I have found the people and men of knowledge doing in our community. Malik explained that shafaq was the redness in the sky after the sun had set; and said; When the redness has gone then the isha prayer is due and you have left the time of maghrib. The Chapter on Bowing In Obligatory Prayers in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Qibla in Muwata Malik
