SahihAlBukhari-017-001-089Narrated Mahmud Bin AlRabi AlAnsari: that he remembered Allah Messenger ﷺ and he also remembered a mouthful of water which he had thrown on his face; after taking it from a well that was in their house. Mahmud said that he had heard Itban Bin Malik; who was present with Allah Messenger ﷺ in the battle of Badr saying; I used to lead my people at Bani Salim in the prayer and there was a valley between me and those people. Whenever it rained it used to be difficult for me to cross it to go to their Masjid. So I went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; I have weak eyesight and the valley between me and my people flows during the rainy season and it becomes difficult for me to cross it; I wish you would come to my house and pray at a place so that I could take that place as a praying place. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I will do so. So Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr came to my house in the next morning after the sun had risen high. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked my permission to let him in and I admitted him. He did not sit before saying; Where do you want us to offer the prayer in your house? I pointed to the place where I wanted him to pray. So Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up for the prayer and started the prayer with Takbir and we aligned in rows behind him; and he offered two rakat; and finished them with Taslim; and we also performed Taslim with him. I detained him for a meal called KhaZirr which I had prepared for him.- KhaZirr is a special type of dish prepared from barley flour and meat soup - When the neighbors got the news that Allah Messenger ﷺ was in my house; they poured it till there were a great number of men in the house. One of them said; What is wrong with Malik; for I do not see him? One of them replied; He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle. On that Allah Apostle said; Dont say this. Havent you seen that he said; None has the right to be worshipped but Allah for Allah sake only. The man replied; Allah and His Apostle know better; but by Allah; we never saw him but helping and talking with the hypocrites. Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; No doubt; whoever says. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; and by that he wants the pleasures of Allah; then Allah will save him from Hell. Mahmud added; I told the above narration to some people; one of whom was Abu Ayoub ; the companion of Allah Messenger ﷺ in the battle in which he Abu Ayoub died and Yazid Bin Muawiya was their leader in Roman Territory. Abu Ayoub denounced the narration and said; I doubt that Allah Messenger ﷺ ever said what you have said. I felt that too much; and I vowed to Allah that if I remained alive in that holy battle; I would go to Medina and ask Itban Bin Malik if he was still living in the Masjid of his people. So when he returned; I assumed Ihram for Hajj or Umra and then I proceeded on till I reached Medina. I went to Bani Salim and Itban Bin Malik; who was by then an old blind man; was leading his people in the prayer. When he finished the prayer; I greeted him and introduced myself to him and then asked him about that narration. He told that narration again in the same manner as he had narrated it the first time. The Chapter on Leave in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To offer Nawafil in congregation in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1220Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1287Narrated Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi: There was some quarrel sighting among Bani Amr; and when this news reached the Prophet; he offered the Zuhr prayer and went to establish peace among them. In the meantime the time of Asr prayer was due; Bilal pronounced the Adhan and then the Iqama for the prayer and requested Abu Bakr to lead the prayer and Abu Bakr went forward. The Prophet ﷺ arrived while Abu Bakr was still praying. He entered the rows of praying people till he stood behind Abu Bakr in the first row. The people started clapping; and it was the habit of Abu Bakr that whenever he stood for prayer; he never glanced side-ways till he had finished it; but when Abu Bakr observed that the clapping was not coming to an end; he looked and saw the Prophet ﷺ standing behind him. The Prophet ﷺ beckoned him to carry on by waving his hand. Abu Bakr stood there for a while; thanking Allah for the saying of the Prophet ﷺ and then he retreated; taking his steps backwards. When the Prophet saw that; he went ahead and led the people in prayer. When he finished the prayer; he said; O Abu Bakr! What prevented you from carrying on with the prayer after I beckoned you to do so? Abu Bakr replied; It does not befit the son of Abi Quhafa to lead the Prophet ﷺ in prayer. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to the people; If some problem arises during prayers; then the men should say; Subhan Allah!; and the women should clap. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1496Narrated Ata: I heard Jabir Bin Abdullah in a gathering saying; We; the companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ assumed the state of Ihram to perform only Hajj without Umra. Jabir added; The Prophet ﷺ arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. And when we arrived in Mecca the Prophet ﷺ ordered us to finish the state of Ihram; saying; Finish your lhram and go to your wives for sexual relation. Jabir added; The Prophet did not oblige us to go to our wives but he only made that legal for us. Then he heard that we were saying; When there remains only five days between us and the Day of Arafat he orders us to finish our Ihram by sleeping with our wives in which case we will proceed to Arafat with our male organs dribbling with semen? Jabir pointed out with his hand illustrating what he was saying. Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up and said; You People know that I am the most Allah-fearing; the most truthful and the best doer of good deeds pious from among you. If I had not brought the Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram as you will do; so finish your Ihram. If I had formerly known what I came to know lately; I would not have brought the Hadi with me. So we finished our Ihram and listened to the Prophet ﷺ and obeyed him. SahihMuslim-017-001-20364Abu AlSaib; the freed slaved of Hisham Bin Zuhra; said that he visited Abu Saeed Khudri in his house; and he further said: I found him saying his prayer; so I sat down waiting for him to finish his prayer when I heard a stir in the bundles of wood lying in a comer of the house. I looked towards it and found a snake. I jumped up in order to kill it; but he Abu Saeed Khudri made a gesture that I should sit down. So I sat down and as he finished the prayer he pointed to a room in the house and said: Do you see this room? I said: Yes. He said: There was a young man amongst us who had been newly wedded. We went with Allah Messenger ﷺ to participate in the Battle of Trench when a young man in the midday used to seek permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ to return to his family. One day he sought permission from him and Allah Messenger ﷺ after granting him the permission said to him: Carry your weapons with you for I fear the tribe of Quraidha may harm you. The man carried the weapons and then came back and found his wife standing between the two doors. He bent towards her smitten by jealousy and made a dash towards her with a spear in order to stab her. She said: Keep your spear away and enter the house until you see that which has made me come out. He entered and found a big snake coiled on the bedding. He darted with the spear and pierced it and then went out having fixed it in the house; but the snake quivered and attacked him and no one knew which of them died first; the snake or the young man. We came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and made a mention to him and said: Supplicate to Allah that that man may be brought back to life. Thereupon he said: Ask forgiveness for your companion and then said: There are in Medina jinns who have accepted Islam; so when you see any one of them; pronounce a warning to it for three days; and if they appear before you after that; then kill it for that is a devil. The Chapter on Premises in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 37 in Sahih Muslim

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer; he said: He who eats from this plant should not come near us until its odour has gone away. When I finished the prayer; I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah; do give me your hand. Then I put his hand in the sleeve of my shirt; carrying it to my chest to show that my chest was fastened with a belt. He said: You have a valid excuse. The Chapter on Good Manners And Mothers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding eating garlic in Sunan Abu Dawoud

MuwataMalik-017-001-34291Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid Ibn Ruman from Salih Ibn Khawat from someone who had prayed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; on the day of Dhat AlRiqa that one group had formed a row with him and one group had formed a row opposite the enemy. He then prayed one raka with the group he was with; and then remained standing while they finished by themselves. They then left and formed a row opposite the enemy; and then the other group came and he prayed the remaining raka of his prayer with them; and then remained sitting while they finished by themselves. Then he said the taslim with them. The Chapter on Bowing In Prayers And Mina And Alqiblah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34722Yahya related to me from Malik from Wahb Ibn Kaysan that Jabir Ibn Abdullah said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; sent a delegation to the coast. Abu Ubayda Ibn AlJarrah was in command of them. There were 300 people and I was among them. We went out until we had gone part of the way and our provisions were finished. Abu Ubayda ordered that the provisions of the army be gathered up and they amounted to two containers of dates. He used to give us a little provision from it each day until it was finished; and we used to have only a single date each. I said; What use is one date? He said; We will certainly feel its loss when they are finished. Jabir continued; Then we reached the sea and there was a fish like a small mountain. The army ate from it for eighteen nights. Then Abu Ubayda ordered two ribs from it to be set up. Then he commanded that a camel be ridden underneath them and it did not touch them. The Chapter on Throwing And Satan Knots in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35394Yahya related to me from Malik that what he preferred of what he had heard from the people of knowledge about a man or woman who vowed to walk to the House of Allah; was that they fulfilled the oath when performing umra; by walking until they had done say between Safa and Marwa. When they had done say it was finished. If they vowed to walk in the hajj; they walked until they came to Makka; then they walked until they had finished all the rites. Malik said; Walking is only for hajj or umra. The Chapter on Obligations And Vows And Oaths in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Jihad in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35610Yahya related to me from Malik from Ayoub Ibn Abi Tamima AlSakhtayani from Muhammad Ibn Seereen that Umm Atiya AlAnsariya said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; came to us when his daughter died and said; Wash her three times; or five; or more than that if you think it necessary; with water and lotus leaves; and at the end put on some camphor; or a little camphor; and when you have finished let me know. When we finished we told him; and he gave us his waist-wrapper and said; Shroud her with this. The Chapter on Garments And Camphor in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35720Yahya related to me from Malik that Ibn Shihab used to say; Some one who catches a raka of the jumua prayer should pray another one with it. Ibn Shihab said; That is the sunna. Malik said; I saw the people of knowledge in our city doing that. That is because the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Whoever catches a raka of the prayer has caught the prayer. Malik said; concerning some one who was in a crowd on the day of jumua and did the ruku but was not able to go into sajda until the imam had risen or finished his prayer; If he is able to do the sajda and has already done the ruku then he should do the sajda when the people stand up. If he is unable to do thesajda until after the imam has finished the prayer; then I prefer that he begins the prayeragain and does the four rakas of dhuhr. The Chapter on Bowing In Prayers And Mina And Alqiblah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35895Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said that he heard Said Ibn AlMusayab asking a group of people; What do you think about someone who has intercourse with his wife while he is in ihram? and none of them answered him. Said said; There is a man who has had intercourse with his wife while in ihram who has sent a message to Madina asking about it. Some of them said; They should be kept apart until a future year; and Said Ibn AlMusayab said; They should carry on and complete the hajj which they have spoiled; and then return home when they have finished. If another hajj comes upon them; they must do hajj and sacrifice an animal. They should go into ihram at the same place where they went into ihram for the hajj that they spoiled; and they should keep apart until they have finished their hajj. Malik said; They should both sacrifice an animal. Malik said; about a man who had intercourse with his wife during hajj after he had come down from Arafa but before he had stoned the Jamra; He must sacrifice an animal and do hajj again in another year. If; however; he had intercourse with his wife after he stoned the Jamra; he only has to do an umra and sacrifice an animal and he does not have to do another hajj. Malik said; What spoils a hajj or an umra and makes sacrificing an animal and repeating the hajj necessary is the meeting of the two circumcised parts; even if there is no emission. It is also made necessary by an emission if it is the result of bodily contact. I do not think that a man who remembers something and has an emission owes anything; and if a man were to kiss his wife and no emission were to occur from that; he would only have to sacrifice an animal. A woman in ihram who has intercourse with her husband several times during hajj or umra out of obedience to him only has to do another hajj and sacrifice an animal. That is if her husband has intercourse with her while she is doing hajj. If he has intercourse with her while she is doing umra; she must repeat the umra she has spoiled and sacrifice an animal. The Chapter on Perfumes Intercourse And Ihram in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Business Transactions in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36008Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Hazim Ibn Dinar that Sahl Ibn Sad AlSaidi said; There are two times when the gates of heaven are opened; and few who make supplication have it returned to them unanswered. They are at the timeof the adhan; and in a rank of people fighting in the way of Allah. Malik was asked whether the adhan on the day of jumua was called before the time had come for the prayer and he said; It is not called until after the sun has passed the meridian. Malik was asked about doubling the adhan and the iqama; and at what point people had to stand when the iqama for the prayer was called. He said; I have heard nothing about the adhan and iqama except what I have seen people do. As for the iqama; it is not doubled. That is what the people of knowledge in our region continue to do. As for people standing up when the iqama for the prayer is called; I have not heard of any definite point at which it is begun; and I consider it rather to be according to people individual capacity; for some people are heavy and some are light; and they are not able to be as one man. Malik was asked about a gathering of people who wished to do the prescribed prayer calling the iqama and not the adhan; and he said; lt is enough for them. The adhan is only obligatory in Masjids where the prayer is said in congregation. Malik was asked about the muadhdhin saying Peace be upon you to the imam and calling him to the prayer; and he was asked who was the first person to whom such a greeting was made. He replied; I have not heard that this greeting occurred in the first community. Yahya said that Malik was asked whether a muadhdhin who called the people to prayer and then waited to see if anyone would come and no one did; so he said the iqama and did the prayer by himself and then people came after he had finished; should repeat the prayer with them. Malik said; He does not repeat the prayer; and whoever comes after he has finished should do the prayer by himself. Yahya said that Malik was asked about a muadhdhin who called the adhan for a group of people; did voluntary prayers; and then the group of people wanted to do the prayer with some one else saying the iqama. He said; There is no harm in that. His iqama or somebody else are the same. Yahya said that Malik said; The subh prayer is still called before dawn. As for the other prayers; we believe that they should only be called after the time has started. The Chapter on Adhan And Iqama And Forgiveness in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36072Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from Abdulrahman Ibn Hurmuz that Abdullah Ibn Buhayna said; The Messengerof Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; prayed dhuhr with us and he stood straight up after two rakas without sitting. When he had finished the prayer; he did two sajdas and then said the taslim after that. Malik said; concerning someone who forgot in his prayer and stood up after he had completed four rakas and recited and then went into ruku and then; when he raised his head from ruku; remembered that he had already completed his prayer ; He returns to a sitting position and does not do any sajda. If he has already done one sajda I do not think he should do the other. Then when his prayer is finished he does two sajdas from the sitting position after saying the taslim. The Chapter on Prostration Of Forgetfulness in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Zakat in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36117Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abbad Ibn Ziyad; a descendant of AlMughira Ibn Shuba from his father from AlMughira Ibn Shuba that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; went to relieve himself during the expedition of Tabuk. Mughira said; I went with him; taking water. Then the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; came back and I poured out the water for him. He washed his hands and then went to push his hands out of the sleeves of his garment; but could not do so because of their narrowness. So he brought them out from underneath his garment. Then he washed his arms; wiped his head and wiped over his leather socks. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; returned and Abdar Rahman Ibn Awuf was leading the people in prayer; and he had already finished one raka with them. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; prayed the remaining raka with them to everyone concern. When the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; finished he said; You have acted correctly. The Chapter on Peace And Evil in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Burials in Muwata Malik
