SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1086Narrated Abdullah Bin Masud: Allah Messenger ﷺ the true and truly inspired; narrated to us; The creation of everyone of you starts with the process of collecting the material for his body within forty days and forty nights in the womb of his mother. Then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period 40 days and then he becomes like a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then an angel is sent to him by Allah and the angel is allowed ordered to write four things; his livelihood; his date of death; his deeds; and whether he will be a wretched one or a blessed one in the Hereafter and then the soul is breathed into him. So one of you may do good deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise so much that there is nothing except a cubit between him and Paradise but then what has been written for him decides his behavior and he starts doing evil deeds characteristic of the people of Hell Fire and ultimately enters Hell Fire ; and one of you may do evil deeds characteristic of the people of Hell Fire so much so that there is nothing except a cubit between him and Hell Fire ; then what has been written for him decides his behavior and he starts doing good deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and ultimately enters Paradise. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1433Narrated Ibrahim At Taimi father: Ali addressed us while he was standing on a brick pulpit and carrying a sword from which was hanging a scroll He said By Allah; we have no book to read except Allah Book and whatever is on this scroll; And then he unrolled it; and behold; in it was written what sort of camels were to be given as blood money; and there was also written in it: Medina is a sanctuary form Air mountain to such and such place so whoever innovates in it an heresy or commits a sin therein; he will incur the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people and Allah will not accept his compulsory or optional good deeds. There was also written in it: The asylum pledge of protection granted by any Muslims is one and the same; even a Muslim of the lowest status is to be secured and respected by all the other Muslims; and whoever betrays a Muslim in this respect by violating the pledge will incur the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people; and Allah will not accept his compulsory or optional good deeds. There was also written in it: Whoever freed slave befriends takes as masters other than his real masters manumitters without their permission will incur the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people; and Allah will not accept his compulsory or optional good deeds. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1485Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Horses may be used for three purposes: For a man they may be a source of reward in the Hereafter ; for another; a means of protection; and for another; a source of sin. The man for whom they are a source of reward; is the one who keeps them for Allah Cause and ties them with long ropes and lets them graze in a pasture or garden. Whatever those long ropes allow them to eat of that pasture or garden; will be written as good deeds for him and if they break their ropes and run one or two rounds; then all their footsteps and dung will be written as good deeds for him; and if they pass a river and drink from it though he has had no intention of watering them; even then; that will be written as good deeds for him. So such horses are a source of reward for that man. For the man who keeps horses for his livelihood in order not to ask others for help or beg his bread; and at the same time he does not forget Allah right of what he earns through them and of their backs that he presents it to be used in Allah Cause ; such horses are a shelter for him from poverty. For the man who keeps them just out of pride and for showing off; they are a source of sin. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ was asked about donkeys. He said; Allah has not revealed anything to me regarding them except this comprehensive Verse: Then anyone who has done good; equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant shall see it; and any one who has done evil; equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant shall see it. 99.7-8The Chapter on Jihad Manners in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The laws inferred from certain evidences and the meaning of an evidence in Sahih AlBukhari

In it was also written: Medina is a sanctuary from Air mountain to Thaur mountain. So whoever innovates in it an heresy something new in religion or commits a crime in it or gives shelter to such an innovator; will incur the curse of Allah; the angels and all the people; and none of his compulsory or optional good deeds will be accepted on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever a freed slave takes as his master i.e. be-friends some people other than hi real masters without the permission of his real masters; will incur the curse of Allah; the angels and all the people; and none of his compulsory; or optional good deeds will be accepted on the Day of Resurrection. And the asylum granted by any Muslim is to be secured by all the Muslims; even if it is granted by one of the lowest social status among them; and whoever betrays a Muslim; in this respect will incur the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people; and none of his Compulsory or optional good deeds will be accepted on the Day of Resurrection. The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The sin of the freed slave who denies his master who has freed him in Sahih AlBukhari

Ali replied; By Him Who made the grain split germinate and created the soul; we have nothing except what is in the Quran and the ability gift of understanding Allah Book which He may endow a man with and we have what is written in this paper. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3254Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Hudhaifa Bin AlYaman came to Uthman at the time when the people of Sham and the people of Iraq were Waging war to conquer Arminya and Adharbijan. Hudhaifa was afraid of their the people of Sham and Iraq differences in the recitation of the Quran; so he said to Uthman; O chief of the Believers! Save this nation before they differ about the Book Quran as Jews and the Christians did before. So Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying; Send us the manuscripts of the Quran so that we may compile the Quranic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you. Hafsa sent it to Uthman. Uthman then ordered Zaid Bin Thabit; Abdullah Bin AlZubair; Saeed Bin AlAs and Abdulrahman Bin Harith Bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. Uthman said to the three Quraishi men; In case you disagree with Zaid Bin Thabit on any point in the Quran; then write it in the dialect of Quraish; the Quran was revealed in their tongue. They did so; and when they had written many copies; Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. Then Allah sends an angel to write four items: He writes his deeds; time of his death; means of his livelihood; and whether he will be wretched or blessed in religion. Then Allah sends an angel who is ordered to write four things. He is ordered to write down his i.e. the new creatures deeds; his livelihood; his date of death; and whether he will be blessed or wretched in religion. Then the soul is breathed into him. So; a man amongst you may do good deeds till there is only a cubit between him and Paradise and then what has been written for him decides his behavior and he starts doing evil deeds characteristic of the people of the Hell Fire. He had a small stick in his hand and he bent his head and started scraping the ground with it. He then said; There is none among you; and no created soul but has his place written for him either in Paradise or in the Hell-Fire; and also has his happy or miserable fate in the Hereafter written for him. A man said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall we depend upon what is written for us and give up doing good deeds? For whoever among us is destined to be fortunate in the Hereafter ; will join the fortunate peoples and whoever among us is destined to be miserable will do such deeds as are characteristic of the people who are destined to misery. The Prophet ﷺ said; Those who are destined to be happy in the Hereafter will find it easy and pleasant to do the deeds characteristic of those destined to happiness; while those who are to be among the miserable in the Hereafter ; will find it easy to do the deeds characteristic of those destined to misery. Then he recited: As for him who gives in charity and keeps his duty to Allah and believes in the Best reward from Allah; We will make smooth for him the path of ease. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7274Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Horses are kept for one of three purposes: A man may keep them for Allah Cause to receive a reward in the Hereafter; another may keep them as a means of protection; and a third may keep them to be a burden for him. As for the man for whom the horse is a source of reward; he is the one who ties it for Allah Cause; and he ties it with a long rope in a pasture or a garden; then; whatever it eats or drinks in that pasture or garden will be added to his good deeds. And if it breaks its rope and jumps over one or two hills; then; for all its footsteps and its manure; good deeds will be written for him. And if it passes by a river and drinks of its water though its owner had no intention to water it from that river; even then he will have good deeds written for him. So that horse will be a source of reward for such a man. If a man ties a horse for earning his livelihood and abstaining from asking others for help and he does not forget Allah right; i.e. pays its Zakat and gives it to be used in Allah Cause; then that horse will be a means of protection for him. But if a man ties it out of pride and to show off and to excite others; then that horse will be a burden of sins for him. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ was asked regarding donkeys. He replied; Nothing has been revealed to me except this comprehensive Verse which includes everything: So whoever does good equal to the weight of an atom or a smallest ant shall see it; and whoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom or a smallest ant shall see it. 99.7-8The Chapter on Jihad Manners in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-18148It has been narrated on the authority of Yazid Bin Hurmuz that Najda wrote to Ibn Abbas inquiring of him five things. Ibn Abbas said: If I had not the fear of committing sin for concealing the knowledge I would not have written to him. Najda wrote to him saying after praising the Almighty and invoking blessings on the Prophet : Tell me whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took women to participate with him in Jihad; if he did ; whether he allotted them a regular share from the booty; whether he killed the children of the enemy in the war ; how long an orphan would be entitled to consideration as such; and for whom the Khums fifth part of the booty was booty. Ibn Abbas wrote to him: You have written asking me whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took women with him to participate in Jihad. He did take them to the battle and sometimes he fought along with them. They would treat the wounded and were given a reward from the booty; but he did not assign any regular share for them. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not kill the children of the enemy; so you should not kill the children. Also you have written to me asking me when the orphanhood of an orphan comes to an end. By my life; if a man has become bearded but is still incapable of getting his due from others or fulfilling his obligation towards them; he is yet an orphan to be treated as such ; but when he can look after his interests like grown-up people; he is no longer an orphan. And you have written to me inquiring about Khums as to whom it is meant for. In this connection we the kinsmen of the Messenger of Allah used to say: It is for us; but those people i.e. Banu Umaya have denied it to us.The Chapter on Booties Of Almaghazi in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 48 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18150It has been narrated on the authority of Yazid Bin Hurmuz who said: Najda Bin Amir AlHaruri wrote to Ibn Abbas asking him about the slave and the woman as to whether they would get a share from the booty it they participated in Jihad ; about the killing of enemy children in war ; about the orphan as to when his orphanhood comes to an end; about kinsmen of the Holy Prophet as to who they are. He said to Yazid: Write to him. If he were not likely to fall into folly; I would not have written to him. Write: You have written asking about the woman and the slave whether they would get a share of the booty if they participated in Jihad. You should know that there is nothing of the sort for them except that they will be given a prize. And you have written asking me about the killing of the enemy children in war. You should understand that the Messenger of Allah may peare be upon him did not kill them. and thou shouldst not kill them unless thou knew what the companion of Moses i. e. Khadir knew about the boy he had killed. And you have written asking me about the orphan as to when the period of his orphanhood comes to an end; so that the sobriquet of orphan is dropped from him. In this regard; you should know that the sobriquet orphan will not be dropped from him until he attains maturity of body and mind. And you have written asking me about the close relatives of the Holy Prophet as to who they are. We think that it is we; but our people have denied us this position and its concomitant privileges. The Chapter on Booties Of Almaghazi in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 48 in Sahih Muslim

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10246Abu Huraira narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: When Allah created Adam; He breathed the soul into him; then he sneezed and said: All praise is due to Allah. So he praised Allah by His permission. Then His Lord said to him: May Allah have mercy upon you O Adam. Go to those angels to that gathering of them sitting so say: AlSalamu Alaikas-Salamu; Wa Rahmatullah Then he returned to his Lord; He said: This is your greeting and the greeting of your children among each other. Then Allah said to him while His Two Hands were closed Choose which of them you wish. He said: I chose the right My Lord and both of the Hands of my Lord are right; blessed. Then He extended it; and there was Adam and his offspring in it. So he said: What are these O my Lord? He said: These are your offspring? Each one of them had his age written between his eyes. But among them there was a man who was the most illuminating of them or among the most illuminated of them. He said: O Lord! Who is this? He said: This is your son Dawud; I wrote forty years for him. He said: O Lord! Add to his age. He said: That is what I have written for him. He said: O Lord! Give him sixty of my years. He said: So you shall have it. He said: Then; he resided in Paradise as long as Allah willed; then he was cast from it; so Adam was counting for himself. He said: So the Angel of death came to him; and Adam said to him: You are hasty; one-thousand years were written for me. He said: Of course! But you gave sixty years to your son Dawud. So he rejected; and his offspring rejected; and he forgot; and his offspring forgot. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25829Sufyan said according to one chain ; and Abu AlSalit said according to another chain : A man wrote to Umar Bin Abd AlAziz asking him about Divine decree. He wrote to him: To begin with; I enjoin upon you to fear Allah; to be moderate in obeying His Command; to follow the sunnah practice of His Prophet ﷺ and to abandon the novelties which the innovators introduced after his Sunnah has been established and they were saved from its trouble i.e. novelty or innovation ; so stick to Sunnah; for it is for you; if Allah chooses; a protection ; then you should know that any innovation which the people introduced was refuted long before it on the basis of some authority or there was some lesson in it; for the Sunnah was introduced by the people who were conscious of the error; slip; foolishness; and extremism in case of the sunnah was opposed. So accept for yourself what the people in the past had accepted for themselves; for they had complete knowledge of whatever they were informed; and by penetrating insight they forbade to do prohibited acts ; they had more strength than us to disclose the matters of religion ; and they were far better than us by virtue of their merits. If right guidance is what you are following; then you outstriped them to it. And if you say whatever the novelty occurred after them was introduced by those who followed the way other then theirs and disliked them. It is they who actually outstripped; and talked about it sufficiently; and gave a satisfactory explanation for it. Below them there is no place for exhaustiveness; and above them there is no place for elaborating things. Some people shortened the matter more than they had done; and thus they turned away from them ; and some people raised the matter more than they had done; and thus they exaggerated. They were on right guidance between that. You have written to me asking about confession of Divine decree; you have indeed approached a person who is well informed of it; with the will of Allah. I know what whatever novelty people have brought in; and whatever innovation people have introduced are not more manifest and more established than confession of Divine decree. The ignorant people i.e. the Arabs before Islam in pre-Islamic times have mentioned it ; they talked about it in their speeches and in their poetry. They would console themselves for what they lost; and Islam then strengthened it i.e. belief in Divine decree. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not mention it in one or two traditions; but the Muslims heard it from him; and they talked of it from him; and they talked of it during his lifetime and after his death. They did so out of belief and submission to their Lord and thinking themselves weak. There is nothing which is not surrounded by His knowledge; and not counted by His register and not destined by His decree. Despite that; it has been strongly mentioned in His Book: from it they have derived it; and from it they have and so ? they also read in it what you read; and they knew its interpretation of which you are ignorant. After that they said: All this is by writing and decreeing. Distress has been written down; and what has been destined will occur ; what Allah wills will surely happen; and what He does not will will not happen. We have no power to harm or benefit ourselves. Then after that they showed interest in good works and were afraid of bad deeds. The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Bad Decrees in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Adherence To The Sunnah in Sunan Abu Dawoud

MuwataMalik-017-001-34977Malik related to me that he heard that Urwa Ibn AlZubair and Sulayman Ibn Yasar when asked whether the sons of a man; who had a kitaba written for himself and his children and then died; worked for the kitaba of their father or were slaves; said; They work for the kitaba of their father and they have no reduction at all for the death of their father. Malik said; If they are small and unable to work; one does not wait for them to grow up and they are slaves of their father master unless the mukatab has left what will pay their instalments for them until they can work. If there is enough to pay for them in what he has left; that is paid for on their behalf and they are left in their condition until they can work; and then if they pay; they are free. If they cannot do it; they are slaves. Malik spoke about a mukatab who died and left property which was not enough to pay his kitaba; and he also left a child with him in his kitaba and an umm walad; and the umm walad wanted to work for them. He said; The money is paid to her if she is trustworthy with it and strong enough to work. If she is not strong enough to work and not trustworthy with property; she is not given any of it and she and the children of the mukatab revert to being slaves of the master of the mukatab. Malik said; If people are written together in one kitaba and there is no kinship between them; and some of them are incapable and others work until they are all set free; those who worked can claim from those who were unable; the portion of what they paid for them because some of them assumed the responsibility for others. The Chapter on Slave As A Property in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Good Character in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34979Malik related to me that he had heard that Said Ibn AlMusayab was asked about a mukatab who was shared between two men. One of them freed his portion and then the mukatab died and left a lot of money. Said replied; The one who kept his kitaba is paid what remains due to him; and then they divide what is left between them both equally. Malik said; When a mukatab who fulfils his kitaba and becomes free dies; he is inherited from by the people who wrote his kitaba and their children and paternal relations - whoever is most deserving. He said; This is also for whoever is set free when he dies after being set free - his inheritance is for the nearest people to him of children or paternal relations who inherit by means of the wala. Malik said; Brothers; written together in the same kitaba; are in the same position as children to each other when none of them have children written in the kitaba or born in the kitaba. When one of them dies and leaves property; he pays for them all that is against them of their kitaba and sets them free. The money left over after that goes to his children rather than his brothers. The Chapter on Slave As A Property in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Good Character in Muwata Malik
