SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1238Narrated Muhammad Bin Jubair Bin Mutim: That while he was included in a delegation of Quraish staying with Muawiya; Muawiya heard that Abdullah Bin Amr had said that there would be a king from Qahtan tribe; whereupon he became very angry. He stood up; and after glorifying and praising Allah as He deserved; said; To proceed; I have come to know that some of you men are narrating things which are neither in Allah Book; nor has been mentioned by Allah Messenger ﷺ. Such people are the ignorant among you. Beware of such vain desires that mislead those who have them. I have heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying; This matter of the caliphate will remain with the Quraish; and none will rebel against them; but Allah will throw him down on his face as long as they stick to the rules and regulations of the religion Islam. The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes And Zakat in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The rulers from the Quraish in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2863Narrated Aisha: Some Muslim men emigrated to Ethiopia whereupon Abu Bakr also prepared himself for the emigration; but the Prophet ﷺ said to him ; Wait; for I hope that Allah will allow me also to emigrate. Abu Bakr said; Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you. Do you hope that emigration ? The Prophet said; Yes. So Abu Bakr waited to accompany the Prophet ﷺ and fed two camels he had on the leaves of AlSamur tree regularly for four months One day while we were sitting in our house at midday; someone said to Abu Bakr; Here is Allah Messenger ﷺ ; coming with his head and a part of his face covered with a cloth-covering at an hour he never used to come to us. Abu Bakr said; Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you; O Prophet ! An urgent matter must have brought you here at this hour. The Prophet ﷺ came and asked the permission to enter; and he was allowed. The Prophet ﷺ entered and said to Abu Bakr; Let those who are with you; go out. Abu Bakr replied; There is no stranger ; they are your family. Let my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Apostle! The Prophet ﷺ said; I have been allowed to leave Mecca. Abu Bakr said; I shall accompany you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; Let my father be sacrificed for you! The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; Abu Bakr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ s! Let my father be sacrificed for you. Take one of these two shecamels of mine The Prophet ﷺ said. I will take it only after paying its price. So we prepared their baggage and put their journey food In a leather bag. And Asma bint Abu Bakr cut a piece of her girdle and tied the mouth of the leather bag with it. That is why she was called Dhatan- Nitaqaln. Then the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr went to a cave in a mountain called Thour and remained there for three nights. Abdullah Bin Abu Bakr. who was a young intelligent man. used to stay with them at night and leave before dawn so that in the morning; he would he with the Quraish at Mecca as if he had spent the night among them. If he heard of any plot contrived by the Quraish against the Prophet and Abu Bakr; he would understand it and return to inform them of it when it became dark. Amir Bin Fuhaira; the freed slave of Abu Bakr used to graze a flock of milch sheep for them and he used to take those sheep to them when an hour had passed after the Isha prayer. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3336Narrated AlBara: Abu Bakr bought a camel saddle from Azib for thirteen Dirhams. Abu Bakr said to Azib; Tell AlBara to carry the saddle for me. Azib said; No; unless you relate to me what happened to you and Allah Messenger ﷺ when you left Mecca while the pagans were in search of you. Abu Bakr said; We left Mecca and we traveled continuously for that night and the following day till it was midday. I looked around searching for shade to take as shelter; and suddenly I came across a rock; and found a little shade there. So I cleaned the place and spread a bed for the Prophet ﷺ in the shade and said to him; Lie down; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. So the Prophet ﷺ lay down and I went out; looking around to see if there was any person pursuing us. Suddenly I saw a shepherd driving his sheep towards the rock; seeking what we had already sought from it. I asked him; To whom do you belong; O boy? He said; I belong to a man from Quraish. He named the man and I recognized him. I asked him; Is there any milk with your sheep? He said; Yes. I said; Will you then milk some for us? He said; Yes. Then I asked him to tie the legs of one of the sheep and clean its udder; and then ordered him to clean his hands from dust. Then the shepherd cleaned his hands by striking his hands against one another. After doing so; he milked a small amount of milk. I used to keep for Allah Messenger ﷺ a leather water-container; the mouth of which was covered with a piece of cloth. I poured water on the milk container till its lower part was cold. Then I took the milk to the Prophet ﷺ whom I found awake. I said to him; Drink; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. So he drank till I became pleased. Then I said; It is time for us to move; O Allah Apostle! He said; Yes. So we set out while the people i.e. Quraish pagans were searching for us; but none found us except Suraqah Bin Malik Bin Jushum who was riding his horse. I said; These are our pursuers who have found us. O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3640Narrated Anas: On the day of the Conquest of Mecca; when the Prophet ﷺ had given from the booty the Quraish; the Ansar said; By Allah; this is indeed very strange: While our swords are still dribbling with the blood of Quraish; our war booty are distributed amongst them. When this news reached the Prophet ﷺ he called the Ansar and said; What is this news that has reached me from you? They used not to tell lies; so they replied; What has reached you is true. He said; Doesnt it please you that the people take the booty to their homes and you take Allah Messenger ﷺ to your homes? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3697Narrated Qais Bin Abi Hazim: Abu Bakr went to a lady from the Ahmas tribe called Zainab bint AlMuhajir and found that she refused to speak. He asked; Why does she not speak. The people said; She has intended to perform Hajj without speaking. He said to her; Speak; for it is illegal not to speak; as it is an action of the pre-islamic period of ignorance. So she spoke and said; Who are you? He said; A man from the Emigrants. She asked; Which Emigrants? He replied; From Quraish. She asked; From what branch of Quraish are you? He said; You ask too many questions; I am Abu Bakr. She said; How long shall we enjoy this good order i.e. Islamic religion which Allah has brought after the period of ignorance? He said; You will enjoy it as long as your Imams keep on abiding by its rules and regulations. She asked; What are the Imams? He said; Were there not heads and chiefs of your nation who used to order the people and they used to obey them? She said; Yes. He said; So they i.e. the Imams are those whom I meant. The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Victory Of Khaiber in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The days of PreIslamic Period of Ignorance in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3717Narrated Abdullah: While the Prophet ﷺ was prostrating; surrounded by some of Quraish; Uqba Bin Abi Muait brought the intestines i.e. Abdominal contents of a camel and put them over the back of the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ did not raise his head; till Fatima; came and took it off his back and cursed the one who had done the harm. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Allah! Destroy the chiefs of Quraish; Abu Jahl Bin Hisham; Utba Bin Rabial; Shaba Bin Rabia; Umaiya Bin Khalaf or Ubai Bin Khalaf. The sub-narrator Shuba; is not sure of the last name. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3768Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet I never remembered my parents believing in any religion other than the true religion i.e. Islam ; and I dont remember a single day passing without our being visited by Allah Messenger ﷺ in the morning and in the evening. When the Muslims were put to test i.e. troubled by the pagans ; Abu Bakr set out migrating to the land of Ethiopia; and when he reached Bark AlGhimad; Ibn AlDaghina; the chief of the tribe of Qara; met him and said; O Abu Bakr! Where are you going? Abu Bakr replied; My people have turned me out of my country ; so I want to wander on the earth and worship my Lord. Ibn AlDaghina said; O Abu Bakr! A man like you should not leave his home-land; nor should he be driven out; because you help the destitute; earn their livings; and you keep good relations with your Kith and kin; help the weak and poor; entertain guests generously; and help the calamity-stricken persons. Therefore I am your protector. Go back and worship your Lord in your town. So Abu Bakr returned and Ibn AlDaghina accompanied him. In the evening Ibn AlDaghina visited the nobles of Quraish and said to them. A man like Abu Bakr should not leave his homeland; nor should he be driven out. Do you i.e. Quraish drive out a man who helps the destitute; earns their living; keeps good relations with his Kith and kin; helps the weak and poor; entertains guests generously and helps the calamity-stricken persons? So the people of Quraish could not refuse Ibn AlDaghina protection; and they said to Ibn AlDaghina; Let Abu Bakr worship his Lord in his house. He can pray and recite there whatever he likes; but he should not hurt us with it; and should not do it publicly; because we are afraid that he may affect our women and children. Ibn AlDaghina told Abu Bakr of all that. Abu Bakr stayed in that state; worshipping his Lord in his house. He did not pray publicly; nor did he recite Quran outside his house. Then a thought occurred to Abu Bakr to build a Masjid in front of his house; and there he used to pray and recite the Quran. The women and children of the pagans began to gather around him in great number. They used to wonder at him and look at him. Abu Bakr was a man who used to weep too much; and he could not help weeping on reciting the Quran. That situation scared the nobles of the pagans of Quraish; so they sent for Ibn AlDaghina. When he came to them; they said; We accepted your protection of Abu Bakr on condition that he should worship his Lord in his house; but he has violated the conditions and he has built a Masjid in front of his house where he prays and recites the Quran publicly. We are now afraid that he may affect our women and children unfavorably. So; prevent him from that. If he likes to confine the worship of his Lord to his house; he may do so; but if he insists on doing that openly; ask him to release you from your obligation to protect him; for we dislike to break our pact with you; but we deny Abu Bakr the right to announce his act publicly. Ibn AlDaghina went to Abu Bakr and said; O Abu Bakr! You know well what contract I have made on your behalf; now; you are either to abide by it; or else release me from my obligation of protecting you; because I do not want the Arabs hear that my people have dishonored a contract I have made on behalf of another man. Abu Bakr replied; I release you from your pact to protect me; and am pleased with the protection from Allah. At that time the Prophet ﷺ was in Mecca; and he said to the Muslims; In a dream I have been shown your migration place; a land of date palm trees; between two mountains; the two stony tracts. So; some people migrated to Medina; and most of those people who had previously migrated to the land of Ethiopia; returned to Medina. Abu Bakr also prepared to leave for Medina; but Allah Messenger ﷺ said to him; Wait for a while; because I hope that I will be allowed to migrate also. Abu Bakr said; Do you indeed expect this? Let my father be sacrificed for you! The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes. So Abu Bakr did not migrate for the sake of Allah Messenger ﷺ in order to accompany him. He fed two camels he possessed with the leaves of AlSamur tree that fell on being struck by a stick for four months. One day; while we were sitting in Abu Bakr house at noon; someone said to Abu Bakr; This is Allah Messenger ﷺ with his head covered coming at a time at which he never used to visit us before. Abu Bakr said; May my parents be sacrificed for him. By Allah; he has not come at this hour except for a great necessity. So Allah Messenger ﷺ came and asked permission to enter; and he was allowed to enter. When he entered; he said to Abu Bakr. Tell everyone who is present with you to go away. Abu Bakr replied; There are none but your family. May my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The Prophet ﷺ said; i have been given permission to migrate. Abu Bakr said; Shall I accompany you? May my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Yes. Abu Bakr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! May my father be sacrificed for you; take one of these two camels of mine. Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; I will accept it with payment. So we prepared the baggage quickly and put some journey food in a leather bag for them. Asma; Abu Bakr daughter; cut a piece from her waist belt and tied the mouth of the leather bag with it; and for that reason she was named Dhat Alun-Nitaqain i.e. the owner of two belts. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr reached a cave on the mountain of Thaur and stayed there for three nights. Abdullah Bin Abi Bakr who was intelligent and a sagacious youth; used to stay with them aver night. He used to leave them before day break so that in the morning he would be with Quraish as if he had spent the night in Mecca. He would keep in mind any plot made against them; and when it became dark he would go and inform them of it. Amir Bin Fuhaira; the freed slave of Abu Bakr; used to bring the milch sheep of his master; Abu Bakr to them a little while after nightfall in order to rest the sheep there. So they always had fresh milk at night; the milk of their sheep; and the milk which they warmed by throwing heated stones in it. Amir Bin Fuhaira would then call the herd away when it was still dark before daybreak. He did the same in each of those three nights. Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr had hired a man from the tribe of Bani AlDail from the family of Bani Abd Bin Adi as an expert guide; and he was in alliance with the family of AlAs Bin Wail AlSahmi and he was on the religion of the infidels of Quraish. The Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr trusted him and gave him their two camels and took his promise to bring their two she camels to the cave of the mountain of Thaur in the morning after three nights later. And when they set out ; Amir Bin Fuhaira and the guide went along with them and the guide led them along the sea-shore.The Chapter on Worship And Alquran In Homes in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The emigration of the Prophet to AlMadina in Sahih AlBukhari

The Prophet ﷺ did not raise his head from prostration till Fatima i.e. his daughter came and removed those intestines from his back; and invoked evil on whoever had done the evil deed. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Allah! Destroy the chiefs of Quraish; O Allah! Destroy Abu Jahl Bin Hisham; Utba Bin Rabia; Shaiba Bin Rabia; Uqba Bin Abi Muait; Umaiya Bin Khalaf or Ubai Bin Kalaf. Uthman said to the three Quraishi persons. If you differ with Zaid Bin Thabit on any point of the Quran; then write it in the language of Quraish; as the Quran was revealed in their language. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4117Narrated AlMiswar Bin Makhrama and Marwan: whose narrations attest each other Allah Messenger ﷺ set out at the time of AlHudaibiya treaty ; and when they proceeded for a distance; he said; Khalid Bin AlWalid leading the cavalry of Quraish constituting the front of the army; is at a place called AlGhamim; so take the way on the right. By Allah; Khalid did not perceive the arrival of the Muslims till the dust arising from the march of the Muslim army reached him; and then he turned back hurriedly to inform Quraish. The Prophet ﷺ went on advancing till he reached the Thaniya i.e. a mountainous way through which one would go to them i.e. people of Quraish. The camel of the Prophet ﷺ sat down. The people tried their best to cause the camel to get up but in vain; so they said; AlQaswa i.e. the camel name has become stubborn! AlQaswa has become stubborn! The Prophet ﷺ said; AlQaswa has not become stubborn; for stubbornness is not her habit; but she was stopped by Him Who stopped the elephant. Then he said; By the Name of Him in Whose Hands my soul is; if they i.e. the Quraish infidels ask me anything which will respect the ordinances of Allah; I will grant it to them. The Prophet ﷺ then rebuked the camel and she got up. The Prophet ﷺ changed his way till he dismounted at the farthest end of AlHudaibiya at a pit i.e. well containing a little water which the people used in small amounts; and in a short while the people used up all its water and complained to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; of thirst. The Prophet ﷺ took an arrow out of his arrow-case and ordered them to put the arrow in that pit. By Allah; the water started and continued sprouting out till all the people quenched their thirst and returned with satisfaction. While they were still in that state; Budail Bin Warqa AlKhuzai came with some persons from his tribe Khuzaa and they were the advisers of Allah Messenger ﷺ who would keep no secret from him and were from the people of Tihama. Budail said; I left Kaab Bin Louai and Amir Bin Louai residing at the profuse water of AlHudaibiya and they had milch camels or their women and children with them; and will wage war against you; and will prevent you from visiting the Kaba. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; We have not come to fight anyone; but to perform the Umra. No doubt; the war has weakened Quraish and they have suffered great losses; so if they wish; I will conclude a truce with them; during which they should refrain from interfering between me and the people i.e. the Arab infidels other than Quraish ; and if I have victory over those infidels; Quraish will have the option to embrace Islam as the other people do; if they wish; they will at least get strong enough to fight. But if they do not accept the truce; by Allah in Whose Hands my life is; I will fight with them defending my Cause till I get killed; but I am sure Allah will definitely make His Cause victorious. Budail said; I will inform them of what you have said. So; he set off till he reached Quraish and said; We have come from that man i.e. Muhammad whom we heard saying something which we will disclose to you if you should like. Some of the fools among Quraish shouted that they were not in need of this information; but the wiser among them said; Relate what you heard him saying. Budail said; I heard him saying so-and-so; relating what the Prophet ﷺ had told him. Urwa Bin Masud got up and said; O people! Arent you the sons? They said; Yes. He added; Am I not the father? They said; Yes. He said; Do you mistrust me? They said; No. He said; Dont you know that I invited the people of Ukaz for your help; and when they refused I brought my relatives and children and those who obeyed me to help you ? They said; Yes. He said; Well; this man i.e. the Prophet has offered you a reasonable proposal; youd better accept it and allow me to meet him. They said; You may meet him. So; he went to the Prophet ﷺ and started talking to him. The Prophet ﷺ told him almost the same as he had told Budail. Then Urwa said; O Muhammad! Wont you feel any scruple in extirpating your relations? Have you ever heard of anyone amongst the Arabs extirpating his relatives before you? On the other hand; if the reverse should happen; nobody will aid you; for by Allah; I do not see with you dignified people; but people from various tribes who would run away leaving you alone. Hearing that; Abu Bakr abused him and said; Do you say we would run and leave the Prophet ﷺ alone? Urwa said; Who is that man? They said; He is Abu Bakr. Urwa said to Abu Bakr; By Him in Whose Hands my life is; were it not for the favor which you did to me and which I did not compensate; I would retort on you. Urwa kept on talking to the Prophet ﷺ and seizing the Prophet beard as he was talking while AlMughira Bin Shuba was standing near the head of the Prophet; holding a sword and wearing a helmet. Whenever Urwa stretched his hand towards the beard of the Prophet; AlMughira would hit his hand with the handle of the sword and say to Urwa ; Remove your hand from the beard of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Urwa raised his head and asked; Who is that? The people said; He is AlMughira Bin Shuba. Urwa said; O treacherous! Am I not doing my best to prevent evil consequences of your treachery? Before embracing Islam AlMughira was in the company of some people. He killed them and took their property and came to Medina to embrace Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said to him; As regards your Islam; I accept it; but as for the property I do not take anything of it. As it was taken through treason. Urwa then started looking at the Companions of the Prophet. By Allah; whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ spat; the spittle would fall in the hand of one of them i.e. the Prophet companions who would rub it on his face and skin; if he ordered them they would carry his orders immediately; if he performed ablution; they would struggle to take the remaining water; and when they spoke to him; they would lower their voices and would not look at his face constantly out of respect. Urwa returned to his people and said; O people! By Allah; I have been to the kings and to Caesar; Khosrau and AlNajashi; yet I have never seen any of them respected by his courtiers as much as Muhammad is respected by his companions. By Allah; if he spat; the spittle would fall in the hand of one of them i.e. the Prophet companions who would rub it on his face and skin; if he ordered them; they would carry out his order immediately; if he performed ablution; they would struggle to take the remaining water; and when they spoke; they would lower their voices and would not look at his face constantly out of respect. Urwa added; No doubt; he has presented to you a good reasonable offer; so please accept it. A man from the tribe of Bani Kinana said; Allow me to go to him; and they allowed him; and when he approached the Prophet and his companions; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; He is so-and-so who belongs to the tribe that respects the Budn i.e. camels of the sacrifice. So; bring the Budn in front of him. So; the Budn were brought before him and the people received him while they were reciting Talbiya. When he saw that scene; he said; Glorified be Allah! It is not fair to prevent these people from visiting the Kaba. When he returned to his people; he said; I saw the Budn garlanded with colored knotted ropes and marked with stabs on their backs. I do not think it is advisable to prevent them from visiting the Kaba. Another person called Mikraz Bin Hafs got up and sought their permission to go to Muhammad; and they allowed him; too. When he approached the Muslims; the Prophet ﷺ said; Here is Mikraz and he is a vicious man. Mikraz started talking to the Prophet and as he was talking; Suhail Bin Amr came. When Suhail Bin Amr came; the Prophet ﷺ said; Now the matter has become easy. Suhail said to the Prophet Please conclude a peace treaty with us. So; the Prophet ﷺ called the clerk and said to him; Write: By the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the most Merciful. Suhail said; As for Beneficent; by Allah; I do not know what it means. So write: By Your Name O Allah; as you used to write previously. The Muslims said; By Allah; we will not write except: By the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the most Merciful. The Prophet ﷺ said; Write: By Your Name O Allah. Then he dictated; This is the peace treaty which Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ has concluded. Suhail said; By Allah; if we knew that you are Allah Messenger ﷺ we would not prevent you from visiting the Kaba; and would not fight with you. So; write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. The Prophet ﷺ said; By Allah! I am Apostle of Allah even if you people do not believe me. Write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. AlZuhri said; The Prophet ﷺ accepted all those things; as he had already said that he would accept everything they would demand if it respects the ordinance of Allah; i.e. by letting him and his companions perform Umra. The Prophet ﷺ said to Suhail; On the condition that you allow us to visit the House i.e. Kaba so that we may perform Tawaf around it. Suhail said; By Allah; we will not allow you this year so as not to give chance to the Arabs to say that we have yielded to you; but we will allow you next year. So; the Prophet ﷺ got that written. Then Suhail said; We also stipulate that you should return to us whoever comes to you from us; even if he embraced your religion. The Muslims said; Glorified be Allah! How will such a person be returned to the pagans after he has become a Muslim? While they were in this state Abu Jandal Bin Suhail Bin Amr came from the valley of Mecca staggering with his fetters and fell down amongst the Muslims. Suhail said; O Muhammad! This is the very first term with which we make peace with you; i.e. you shall return Abu Jandal to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; The peace treaty has not been written yet. Suhail said; I will never allow you to keep him. The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; do. He said; I wont do.: Mikraz said; We allow you to keep him. Abu Jandal said; O Muslims! Will I be returned to the pagans though I have come as a Muslim? Dont you see how much I have suffered? continued... continuing... 1 : -3.891:...... Abu Jandal had been tortured severely for the Cause of Allah. Umar Bin AlKhattab said; I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Arent you truly the Messenger of Allah? The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; indeed. I said; Isnt our Cause just and the cause of the enemy unjust? He said; Yes. I said; Then why should we be humble in our religion? He said; I am Allah Messenger ﷺ and I do not disobey Him; and He will make me victorious. I said; Didnt you tell us that we would go to the Kaba and perform Tawaf around it? He said; Yes; but did I tell you that we would visit the Kaba this year? I said; No. He said; So you will visit it and perform Tawaf around it? Umar further said; I went to Abu Bakr and said; O Abu Bakr! Isnt he truly Allah Prophet? He replied; Yes. I said; Then why should we be humble in our religion? He said; Indeed; he is Allah Messenger ﷺ and he does not disobey his Lord; and He will make him victorious. Adhere to him as; by Allah; he is on the right. I said; Was he not telling us that we would go to the Kaba and perform Tawaf around it? He said; Yes; but did he tell you that you would go to the Kaba this year? I said; No. He said; You will go to Kaba and perform Tawaf around it. AlZuhri said; Umar said; I performed many good deeds as expiation for the improper questions I asked them. When the writing of the peace treaty was concluded; Allah Messenger ﷺ said to his companions; Get up and slaughter your sacrifices and get your head shaved. By Allah none of them got up; and the Prophet repeated his order thrice. When none of them got up; he left them and went to Umm Salamah and told her of the people attitudes towards him. Umm Salamah said; O the Prophet ﷺ of Allah! Do you want your order to be carried out? Go out and dont say a word to anybody till you have slaughtered your sacrifice and call your barber to shave your head. So; the Prophet ﷺ went out and did not talk to anyone of them till he did that; i.e. slaughtered the sacrifice and called his barber who shaved his head. Seeing that; the companions of the Prophet ﷺ got up; slaughtered their sacrifices; and started shaving the heads of one another; and there was so much rush that there was a danger of killing each other. Then some believing women came to the Prophet ﷺ ; and Allah revealed the following Divine Verses:- O you who believe; when the believing women come to you as emigrants examine them... 60.10 Umar then divorced two wives of his who were infidels. Later on Muawiya Bin Abu Sufyan married one of them; and Safwan Bin Umaiya married the other. When the Prophet ﷺ returned to Medina; Abu Basir; a new Muslim convert from Quraish came to him. The Infidels sent in his pursuit two men who said to the Prophet ﷺ ; Abide by the promise you gave us. So; the Prophet ﷺ handed him over to them. They took him out of the City till they reached Dhu AlHulaifa where they dismounted to eat some dates they had with them. Abu Basir said to one of them; By Allah; O so-and-so; I see you have a fine sword. The other drew it out of the scabbard and said; By Allah; it is very fine and I have tried it many times. Abu Basir said; Let me have a look at it. When the other gave it to him; he hit him with it till he died; and his companion ran away till he came to Medina and entered the Masjid running. When Allah Messenger ﷺ saw him he said; This man appears to have been frightened. When he reached the Prophet ﷺ he said; My companion has been murdered and I would have been murdered too. Abu Basir came and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; by Allah; Allah has made you fulfill your obligations by your returning me to them i.e. the Infidels ; but Allah has saved me from them. The Prophet ﷺ said; Woe to his mother! what excellent war kindler he would be; should he only have supporters. When Abu Basir heard that he understood that the Prophet ﷺ would return him to them again; so he set off till he reached the seashore. Abu Jandal Bin Suhail got himself released from them i.e. infidels and joined Abu Basir. So; whenever a man from Quraish embraced Islam he would follow Abu Basir till they formed a strong group. By Allah; whenever they heard about a caravan of Quraish heading towards Sham; they stopped it and attacked and killed them i.e. infidels and took their properties. The people of Quraish sent a message to the Prophet ﷺ requesting him for the Sake of Allah and Kith and kin to send for i.e. Abu Basir and his companions promising that whoever amongst them came to the Prophet ﷺ would be secure. So the Prophet ﷺ sent for them i.e. Abu Basir companions and Allah I revealed the following Divine Verses: And it is He Who Has withheld their hands from you and your hands From them in the midst of Mecca; After He made you the victorious over them.... the unbelievers had pride and haughtiness; in their hearts... the pride and haughtiness of the time of ignorance. 48.24-26 And their pride and haughtiness was that they did not confess write in the treaty that he i.e. Muhammad was the Prophet of Allah and refused to write: In the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the Most Merciful; and they the mushriks prevented them the Muslims from visiting the House the Kabah. The Chapter on Quraish Arab Tribe in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The conditions of Jihad and peace treaties in Sahih AlBukhari

It was a habit of the Prophet ﷺ that whenever he conquered some people; he used to stay at the battle-field for three nights. So; on the third day of the battle of Badr; he ordered that his camel be saddled; then he set out; and his companions followed him saying among themselves. Definitely he i.e. the Prophet is proceeding for some great purpose. When he halted at the edge of the well; he addressed the corpses of the Quraish infidels by their names and their fathers names; O so-and-so; son of so-and-so and O so-and-so; son of so-andso! Would it have pleased you if you had obeyed Allah and His Apostle? We have found true what our Lord promised us. Have you too found true what your Lord promised you? Umar said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are speaking to bodies that have no souls! Allah Messenger ﷺ said; By Him in Whose Hand Muhammad soul is; you do not hear; what I say better than they do. SahihMuslim-017-001-18086It has been narrated by Abdullah Bin Rabah from Abu Huraira; who said: Many deputations came to Muawiya. This was in the month of Ramadan. We would prepare food for one another. Abu Huraira was one of those who frequently invited us to his house. I said: Should I not prepare food and invite them to my place? So I ordered meals to be prepared Then I met Abu Huraira in the evening and said: You will have your meals with me tonight. He said: You have forestalled me. I said: Yes; and invited them. When they had finished with the meals Abu Huraira said: Should I not tell yon a tradition from your traditions; O ye assembly of the Ansar? He then gave an account of the Conquest of Mecca and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advanced until he reached Mecca. He deputed AlZubair on his right flank and Khalid on the left; and he despatched Abu Ubaida with the force that had no armour. They advanced to the interior of the valley. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in the midst of a large contingent of fighters. He saw me and said: Abu Huraira. I said: I am here at your call; Messenger of Allah I He said: Let no one come to me except the Ansar; so call to me the Ansar only. Abu Huraira continued: So they gathered round him. The Quraish also gathered their ruffians and their lowly followers; and said: We send these forward. If they get anything; we shall be with them to share it ; and if misfortune befalls them; we shall pay as compensation whatever we are asked for. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the Ansar : You see the ruffians and the lowly followers of the Quraish. And he indicated by striking one of his hands over the other that they should be killed and said: Meet me at AlSafa. Then we went on and if any one of us wanted that a certain person should be killed; he was killed; and none could offer any resistance. Abu Huraira continued: Then came Abu Sufyan and said: Messenger of Allah; the blood of the Quraish has become very cheap. There will be no Quraish from this day on. Then he the Holy Prophet said: Who enters the house of Abu Sufyan; he will be safe. Some of the Ansar whispered among themselves: After all ; love for his city and tenderness towards his relations have overpowered him. Abu Huraira said: At this moment revelation came to the Prophet ﷺ and when he was going to receive the Revelation; we understood it; and when he was actually receiving it; none of us would dare raise his eyes to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until the revelation came to an end. When the revelation came to an end; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O ye Assembly of the Ansar! They said: Here we are at your disposal; Messenger of Allah. He said: You were saying that love for his city and tenderness towards his people have overpowered this man. They said: So it was. He said: No; never. I am a bondman of God and His Messenger. I migrated towards God and towards you. I will live with you and will die with you. So; they the Ansar turned towards him in tears and they were saying: By Allah; we said what we said because of our tenacious attachment to Allah and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Surely; Allah and His Messenger testify to your assertions and accept your apology. The narrator continued: People turned to the house of Abu Sufyan and people locked their doors. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ proceeded until he approached the Black Stone. He kissed it and circumambulated the Kaba. He reached near an idol by the side of the Kaba which was worshipped by the people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a bow in his hand; and he was holding it from a corner. When he came near the idol; he began to pierce its eyes with the bow and while doing so was saying: Truth has been established and falsehood has perished. When he had finished the circumambulation; he came to Safa; ascended it to a height from where he could see the Kaba; raised his hands in prayer and began to praise Allah and prayed what he wanted to pray. The Chapter on Alansar And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 31 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18088It has been narrated on the authority of Abdullah Bin Rabah who said: We came to Muawiya Bin Abu Sufyan as a deputation and Abu Huraira was among us. Each of us would prepare food for his companions turn by turn for a day. Accordingly when it was my turn I said: Abu Huraira; it is my turn today. So they came to my place. The food was not yet ready; so I said to Abu Huraira: I wish you could narrate to us a tradition from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until the food was ready. Complying with my request Abu Huraira said: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the Conquest of Mecca. He appointed Khalid Bin Walid as commander of the right flank; AlZubair as commander of the left flank; and Abu Ubaida as commander of the foot-soldiers who were to advance to the interior of the valley. He then said: Abu Huraira; call the Ansar to me. So I called out to them and they came hurriedly. He said: O ye Assembly of the Ansaar; do you see the ruffians of the Quraish? They said: Yes. He said: See; when you meet them tomorrow; wipe them out. He hinted at this with his hand; placing his right hand on his left and said: You will meet us at AlSafa. Abu Huraira continued : Whoever was seen by them that day was put to death. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the mount of AlSafa. The Ansar also came there and surrounded the mount. Then came Abu Sufyan and said: Messenger ot Allah; the Quraish have perished. No member of the Quraish tribe will survive this day. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who enters the house of Abu Safyin will be safe; who lays down arms will be safe; who locks his door will be safe. some of the Ansar said: After all the man has been swayed by tenderness towards his family and love for his city. At this; Divine inspiration descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: You were saying that the man has been swayed by tenderness towards his family and love for his city. Do you know what my name is? I am Muhammad; the bondman of God and His Messenger. He repeated this thrice. I left my native place for the take of Allah and joined you. So I will live with you and die with you. Now the Ansar said: By God; we said that only out of our greed for Allah and His Messenger. He said: Allah and His Apostle testify to you and accept your apology. The Chapter on Alansar And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 31 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18114It has been narrated by Abdullah Bin Masud who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was lying postrate in prayer and around him were some people from the Quraish; Uqba Bin Abu Muait brought the foetus of a camel and threw it on the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He did not raise his head until Fatima arrived; removed it from his back and cured him who had done that ugly act. He said: O Allah; it is for Thee to deal with the chiefs of the Quraish. Abu Jahl Bin Hisham; Utba Bin Rabia. Uqba Bin Abu Muait; Shaiba Bin Rabia; Umaya Bin Khalaf or Ubay Bin Khalaf Shuba; one of the narrator of this tradition is in doubt about the exact person. SahihMuslim-017-001-20804Aisha reported that Allah Messenger may peace be uport him said. Satirise against the non-believing amongst the Quraish; for the satire is more grievous to them than the hurt of an arrow. So he the Holy Prophet sent someone to Ibn Rawiha and asked him to satirise against them; and he composed a satire; but it did not appeal to him to the Holy Prophet. He then sent someone to Kaab Bin Malik to do the same; but what he composed did not appeal to the Holy Prophet. He then sent one to Hassan Bin Thabit. As he got into his presence; Hassan said: Now you have called for this lion who strikes the enemies with his tail. He then brought out his tongue and began to move it and said: By Him Who has sent you with Truth; I shall tear them with my tongue as the leather is torn. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Dont be hasty; let Abu Bakr who has the best know- ledge of the lineage of the Quraish draw a distinction for you in regard to my lineage; as my lineage is thesame as theirs. Hassan then came to him Abu Bakr and after making inquiry in regard to the lineage of the Holy Prophet came back to him the holy Prophet and said: Allah Messenger; he Abu Bakr has drawn a distinction in vour lineage and that of the Quraish By Him Who has sent you with Truth; I shall draw out from them your name as hair is drawn out from the flour. Aisha said: I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying to Hassin: Verily Ruh AlQudus would continue to help you so long as you put up a defence on behalf of Allah and His Messenger. And she said: I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying: Hassan satirised against them and gave satisfaction to the Muslims and disquieted the non-Muslims. You satirised Muhammad; but I replied on his behalf; And there is reward with Allah for this. You satirised Muhammad. virtuous; righteous; The Apostle of Allah; whose nature is truthfulness. So verily my father and his father and my honour Are a protection to the honour of Muhammad; May I lose my dear daughter; if you dont see her; Wiping away the dust from the two sides of Kada; They pull at the rein; going upward; On their shoulders are spears thirsting for the blood of the enemy ; our steeds are sweating-our women wipe them with their mantles. If you had not interfered with us; we would have performed the Umra; And then there was the Victory; and the darkness cleared away. Otherwise wait for the fighting on the day in which Allah will honour whom He pleases. And Allah said: I have sent a servant who says the Truth in which there is no ambiguity; And Allah said: I have prepared an army-they are the Ansar whose object is fighting the enemy ; There reaches every day from Maadd abuse; or fighting or satire; Whoever satirises the Apostle from amongst you; or praises him and helps it is all the same; And Gabriel; the Messenger of Allah is among us; and the Holy Spirit who has no match. The Chapter on Standing For Prayers And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 34 in Sahih Muslim

He the narrator said: Then people hung their heads and I saw none among them giving any answer. He then returned and I followed him till he sat near a pillar. I said: I find that these people disliked what you said to them and they do not understand anything. My friend Ab AlQasim Muhammad may peace he upon him called me and I responded to him; and he said: Do you see Uhud? I saw the sun shining on me and I thought that he would send me on an errand for him. So I said: I see it. Upon this he said: Nothing would delight me more than this that I should have gold like it equal to the bulk of Uhud ; and I should spend it all except three dinars. How sad it is that they hoard worldly riches; and they know nothing. I said: What about you and your brothers Quraish? You do not go to thein for any need and do not accept anything from them. Anas Bin Malik said: Their statement was conveyed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he sent someone to the Ansar and gathered them under a tent of leather. When they had assembled; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to them and said: What is this news that has reached me from you? The wise people of the Ansar said: Messenger of Allah; so far as the sagacious amongst us are concerned they have said nothing; but we have amongst us persons of immature age; they said: May Allah grant pardon to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he gave to the Quraish and ignored us despite the fact that our swords are besmeared with their blood. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I give at times material gifts to persons who were quite recently in the state of unbelief; so that I may incline them to truth Dont you feel delighted that people should go with riches; and you should go back to your places with the Messenger of Allah? By Allah; that with which you would return is better than that with which they would return. They said: Yes; Messenger of Allah; we are pleased. The Prophet said too: You would find marked preference in conferring of the material gifts in future; so you should show patience till you meet Allah and His Messenger and I would he at the Haud Kauthar. This remark reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and so he gathered them and said: What is this that has been conveyed to me about you? They said: Yes it is that very thing that; has reached you and they were not the people to speak a lie. Upon this he said: Dont you like that the people should return to their houses along with worldly riches; whereas you should return to your houses with the Messenger of Allah? Their bellies were fat; and they did not have much understanding. They said something that I could not understand; then one of them said: Do you think that Allah can hear what we are talking about? Another said: If we raise our voices; He will hear it; but if we do not raise our voices; He will not hear it. The other one said: If He can hear something from us; then He can hear all of it. SunanAlNasai-017-001-12024It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: The first instance of Qasamah during the Aljahiliyah involved a man from Banu Hashim who was employed by a man from Quraish; from another branch of the tribe. He went out with him; driving his camels and another man from Banu Hashim passed by them. The leather rope of that man bag broke; so he said to the hired worker : Help me by giving me a rope with which to tie the handle of my bag; lest the camels run away from me. So he gave him a rope and he tied his gab with it. When they halted; all the camels legs were hobbled except one camel. The one who had hired him said: Why is his camel; out of all of them; not hobbled? He said: There is no rope for it. He said: Where is its rope? He said: A man from Banu Hashim passed by and the leather rope of his bag had broken; and he asked me to help him; he said: Help me by giving me a rope with which to tie the handle of my bag lest the camels run away from me; so I gave him a rope. He struck him with a stick; which led to his death. Then a man from Yemen passed by him the man from Banu Hashim; the man from Banu Hashim; just before he died and he the Hashimi man said: Are you going to attend the Pilgrimage? He said: I do not think I will attend it; but perhaps I will attend it. He said: Will you convey a message from me once in your lifetime? He said: Yes. He said: If you attend the pilgrimage; then call out; O family of Quraish! If they respond; then call out; O family of Hashim! If they respond; then ask for Abu Talib; and tell him that so and so killed me for a rope. Then the hired worker died. When the one who had hired him cam; Abu Talib went to him and said: What happened to our companion? He said: He fell sick and I took good care of him; but he died; so I stopped and buried him. He said: He deserved that from you. Some time passed; then the Yemeni man who had been asked to convey the message arrived at the time of the pilgrimage. He said: O family of Quraish! And they said: Here is Quraish. He said: O family of Banu Hashim! They said: Here is Banu Hashim. He said Where is Abu Talib? He said: Here is Abu Talib. He said: so and so asked me to convey a message to you; that so and so killed him for a camel rope. Abu Talib went to him and said Choose one of three alternatives that we are offering you. If you wish; you may give us one hundred camels; because you killed our companion by mistake: or if you wish; fifty of your men may swear an oath that you did not kill him; or if you wish; we will kill you in retaliation. He went to his people and told them about that; and they said: We will swear the oath. Then a woman from Banu Hashim; who was married to one of their men and had born him a child; came to Abu Talib and said: O Abu Talib; I wish that my son; who is one of these fifty men; should be excused from having to take the oath.; So the excused him. Then one of the men came to him and said: O Abu Talib; you want fifty men to take the oath in lieu of one hundred camels; which means that each man may give two camels instead; so here are two camels; take them from me; and do not make me take the oath. So he accepted them; and did not make him take the oath. Then forty-eight men came and took the oath. Ibn Abbas said: By the One in Whose hand is my soul; by the time a year has passed; none of those forty-eight men remained alive. The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen Killing in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Qasamah During The Jahiliyah in Sunan AlNasai

They had just slaughtered a camel and one of them said: Which of you will take these stomach contents with the blood and wait until he prostrates; then put them on his back? Abdullah said: The one who was most doomed got up and took the stomach contents; then went and waited until he prostrated himself; and put it on his back. Fatimah; the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; who was a young girl; was told about that; and she came running and took it off his back. When he had finished praying he said: O Allah! Punish the Quraish; three times; O Allah; punish Abu Jahl Bin Hisham; Shaibah Bin Rabiah; Utbah Bin Rabiah; Uqbah Bin Abi Muait until he had listed seven men from Quraish. She said: By Allah; if I were entitled to maintenance and accommodation I would demand them and I would not accept this. The deputy said: You are not entitled to accommodation or maintenance. She said: I came to the Prophet and told him about that; and he said: You are not entitled to accommodation nor maintenance; observe your Iddah in the house of so-and-so. She said: His Companions used to go to her. Then he said: Observe your Iddah in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum; who is blind; and when your Iddah is over; let me know. She said: When my Iddah was over; I let him know. The Messenger of Allah said: Who has proposed marriage to you? I said: Muawiyah and another man from the Quraish. He said: As for Muawiyah; he is a boy among the Quraish and does not have anything; and as for the other he is a bad man with no goodness in him. Rather you should marry Usamah Bin Zaid.
