She said to her; May Allah give you refuge from the punishment of the grave. So Aisha asked Allah Messenger ﷺ Would the people be punished in their graves? Allah Messenger ﷺ after seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave and thus replied in the affirmative. Then one day; Allah Messenger ﷺ rode to go to some place but the sun eclipsed. He returned in the forenoon and passed through the rear of the dwellings of his wives and stood for the eclipse prayer; and the people stood behind him. He stood up for a long period and then performed a prolonged bowing which was shorter than the first bowing. Then he raised his head and prostrated. Then he stood up for the second raka for a long while but the standing was shorter than that of the first raka. Then he performed a prolonged bowing which was shorter than the first one. Then he raised his head and prostrated. Then he stood up for a long time but shorter than the first. Then he performed a prolonged bowing but shorter than the first. Then he raised his head and prostrated and finished the prayer and then delivered the sermon and said as much as Allah wished. It is as if I can see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on his camel with Abu Bakr riding behind him on the same camel and the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar around him; until he dismounted in the courtyard of Abu Ayoub. The Prophet ﷺ used to offer the prayer wherever he was when the time for prayer came; and he would pray even in sheepfolds. Then he ordered that the Masjid be built. He sent for the chiefs of Banu AlNajjar; and when they came; he said: O Banu AlNajjar; name me a price for this grove of yours. They said: By Allah; we will not ask for its price except from Allah. Anas said: In that grove there were graves of idolators; ruins and date-palm trees. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the graves of the idolators be dug up; the ruins be leveled and the date-palm trees be cut down. The trunks of the trees were arranged so as to form the walls facing the Qiblah. The stone pillars were built at the sides of its gate. I did not know what to say; so I got up and went to the house of Ibn Umar and said: O Abu Abdulrahman should the two who engage in Lian be separated? He said: Yes; Subhan Allah! The first one who asked about that was so-and-so the son of so-and-so who said: O Messenger of Allah; what do you think if a man among us sees his wife committing immoral actions; and if he speaks of it; he will be speaking of a grave matter; but if he keeps quiet; he will be keeping quiet about a grave matter? He did not answer him; then after that; he came to him and said: I was tried with the matter that I asked you about; so Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; revealed these Verses in Surat AlNur.: And for those who accuse their wives until he reached: And the fifth testimony should be that the Wrath of Allah be upon her if he her husband speaks the truth. So he started with the man; exhorting him; reminding him; and telling him that the punishment in this world was less severe than the punishment in the Hereafter. | SunanAlNasai-017-001-15449 | It was narrated from Yahya Bin Saeed that : Amrah told him that Aisha told her that a Jewish woman came to her and said: May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave. | SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25970 | Narrated AlBara Ibn Azib: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When we reached his grave; it was not yet dug. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jabir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back; and at that moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord; what is your religion; and who is your Prophet? Hannad version says: Two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth; so spread a bed for him from Paradise; clothe him from Paradise; and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him; and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel; saying: His spirit will be restored to his body; two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas; alas! | SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27430 | Anas Bin Malik reported: Messenger of Allah ﷺ came over to Medina and encamped at the upper side of Medina among the tribe known as Banu Amr Bin Awuf. He stayed among them for fourteen days. He then sent someone to call Banu AlNajjar. They came to him hanging their swords from the necks. Anas then said: As if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting on his mount and Abu Bakr seated behind him; and Banu AlNajjar standing around him. He descended in the courtyard of Abu Ayoub. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say his prayer in the folds of the sheep and goats. He commanded us to build a Masjid. He then sent for Banu AlNajjar and said to them: Banu AlNajjar; sell this land of yours to me for some price. They replied: By Allah; we do not want any price from you except from Allah. Anas said: I tell what this land contained. It contained the graves of the disbelievers; dung-hills; and some trees of date-palm. The wood of the date-palm were erected in front of the Masjid ; the door-steps wre built of stone. They were reciting verses carrying the stones. Their grave was part of what was left after the flood. They were in the same grave; and they were among those martyred at Uhud. They were dug up so that they might be moved. They were found unchanged. It was as if they had died only the day before. One of them had been wounded; and he had put his hand over his wound and had been buried like that. His hand was pulled away from his wound and released; and it returned to where it had been. It was forty-six years between Uhud and the day they were dug up. Malik said; There is no harm in burying two or three men in the same grave due to necessity.
