SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1070Narrated Ata Bin Yazid AlLaithi: On the authority of Abu Huraira: The people said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection? The Prophet ﷺ said; Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on a full moon night? They said; No; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said; Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there are no clouds? They said; No; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said; So you will see Him; like that. Allah will gather all the people on the Day of Resurrection; and say; Whoever worshipped something in the world should follow that thing ; so; whoever worshipped the sun will follow the sun; and whoever worshiped the moon will follow the moon; and whoever used to worship certain other false deities; he will follow those deities. And there will remain only this nation with its good people or its hypocrites. The sub-narrator; Ibrahim is in doubt. Allah will come to them and say; I am your Lord. They will deny Him and say; We will stay here till our Lord comes; for when our Lord comes; we will recognize Him. So Allah will come to them in His appearance which they know; and will say; I am your Lord. They will say; You are our Lord; so they will follow Him. Then a bridge will be laid across Hell Fire I and my followers will be the first ones to go across it and none will speak on that Day except the Apostles. And the invocation of the Apostles on that Day will be; O Allah; save! Save! In Hell or over The Bridge there will be hooks like the thorns of AlSadan thorny plant. Have you seen AlSadan? They replied; Yes; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; So those hooks look like the thorns of AlSadan; but none knows how big they are except Allah. Those hooks will snap the people away according to their deeds. Some of the people will stay in Hell be destroyed because of their evil deeds; and some will be cut or torn by the hooks and fall into Hell and some will be punished and then relieved. When Allah has finished His Judgments among the people; He will take whomever He will out of Hell through His Mercy. He will then order the angels to take out of the Fire all those who used to worship none but Allah from among those whom Allah wanted to be merciful to and those who testified in the world that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah. The angels will recognize them in the Fire by the marks of prostration on their foreheads ; for the Fire will eat up all the human body except the mark caused by prostration as Allah has forbidden the Fire to eat the mark of prostration. They will come out of the Hell Fire; completely burnt and then the water of life will be poured over them and they will grow under it as does a seed that comes in the mud of the torrent. Then Allah will finish the judgments among the people; and there will remain one man facing the Hell Fire and he will be the last person among the people of Hell to enter Paradise. He will say; O my Lord! Please turn my face away from the fire because its air has hurt me and its severe heat has burnt me. So he will invoke Allah in the way Allah will wish him to invoke; and then Allah will say to him; If I grant you that; will you then ask for anything else? He will reply; No; by Your Power; Honor I will not ask You for anything else. He will give his Lord whatever promises and covenants Allah will demand. So Allah will turn his face away from Hell Fire. When he will face Paradise and will see it; he will remain quiet for as long as Allah will wish him to remain quiet; then he will say; O my Lord! Bring me near to the gate of Paradise. Allah will say to him; Didnt you give your promises and covenants that you would never ask for anything more than what you had been given? Woe on you; O Adam son! How treacherous you are! He will say; O my lord; and will keep on invoking Allah till He says to him; If I give what you are asking; will you then ask for anything else? He will reply; No; by Your Honor Power; I will not ask for anything else. Then he will give covenants and promises to Allah and then Allah will bring him near to the gate of Paradise. When he stands at the gate of Paradise; Paradise will be opened and spread before him; and he will see its splendor and pleasures whereupon he will remain quiet as long as Allah will wish him to remain quiet; and then he will say; O my Lord! Admit me into Paradise. Allah will say; Didnt you give your covenants and promises that you would not ask for anything more than what you had been given? Allah will say; Woe on you; O Adam son! How treacherous you are! The man will say; O my Lord! Do not make me the most miserable of Your creation; and he will keep on invoking Allah till Allah will laugh because of his sayings; and when Allah will laugh because of him; He will say to him; Enter Paradise; and when he will enter it; Allah will say to him; Wish for anything. So he will ask his Lord; and he will wish for a great number of things; for Allah Himself will remind him to wish for certain things by saying; Wish for so-and-so. When there is nothing more to wish for; Allah will say; This is for you; and its equal is for you as well. Ata Bin Yazid added: Abu Saeed AlKhudri who was present with Abu Huraira; did not deny whatever the latter said; but when Abu Huraira said that Allah had said; That is for you and its equal as well; Abu Saeed AlKhudri said; And ten times as much; O Abu Huraira! Abu Huraira said; I do not remember; except his saying; That is for you and its equal as well. Abu Saeed AlKhudri then said; I testify that I remember the Prophet ﷺ saying; That is for you; and ten times as much. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1281Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet ﷺ said; If somebody on the demand of a judge takes an oath to grab a Muslims property and he is liar in it; he will meet Allah Who will be angry with him. So Allah revealed;:- Verily! those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah Covenant and their oaths.. 3.77 AlAshath came while Abdullah was narrating this to the people. AlAshath said; This verse was revealed regarding me and another man with whom I had a quarrel about a well. The Prophet ﷺ said to me ; Do you have any evidence? I replied; No. He said; Let your opponent take an oath. I said: I am sure he would take a false oath. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4893Narrated Abu Wail: Abdullah bin Masud said; Whoever took a false oath in order to grab somebody property will meet Allah while Allah will be angry with him. Allah revealed the following verse to confirm that:-Verily! Those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah covenant And their oaths...a painful torment. 3.77 AlAshath Bin Qais came to us and asked as to what Abu Abdulrahman i.e. Ibn Masud was telling you. We related the story to him. On that he said; He has told the truth. This verse was revealed about me. I had some dispute with another man regarding a well and we took the case before Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to me ; Produce two witnesses to support your claim ; otherwise the defendant has the right to take an oath to refute your claim. I said; The defendant would not mind to take a false oath. Allah Messenger ﷺ then said; Whoever took a false oath in order to grab someone else property will meet Allah; Allah will be angry with him. Allah then revealed what Confirmed it. AlAshath then recited the following Verse:-Verily! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6434Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ sent a Sariya of spies and appointed Aasi m Bin Thabit; the grandfather of Aasi m Bin Umar Bin AlKhattab; as their leader. So they set out; and when they reached a place between Usfan and Mecca; they were mentioned to one of the branch tribes of Bani Hudhail called Lihyan. So; about one-hundred archers followed their traces till they i.e. the archers came to a journey station where they i.e. Aasi m and his companions had encamped and found stones of dates they had brought as journey food from Medina. The archers said; These are the dates of Medina; and followed their traces till they took them over. When Aasi m and his companions were not able to go ahead; they went up a high place; and their pursuers encircled them and said; You have a covenant and a promise that if you come down to us; we will not kill anyone of you. Aasi m said; As for me; I will never come down on the security of an infidel. O Allah! Inform Your Prophet about us. So they fought with them till they killed Aasi m along with seven of his companions with arrows; and there remained Khubaib; Zaid and another man to whom they gave a promise and a covenant. So when the infidels gave them the covenant and promise; they came down. When they captured them; they opened the strings of their arrow bows and tied them with it. The third man who was with them said; This is the first breach in the covenant; and refused to accompany them. They dragged him and tried to make him accompany them; but he refused; and they killed him. Then they proceeded on taking Khubaib and Zaid till they sold them in Mecca. The sons of AlHarith Bin Amr Bin Nawfal bought Khubaib. It was Khubaib who had killed AlHarith Bin Amr on the day of Badr. Khubaib stayed with them for a while as a captive till they decided unanimously to kill him. At that time Khubaib borrowed a razor from one of the daughters of AlHarith to shave his pubic hair. She gave it to him. She said later on; I was heedless of a little baby of mine; who moved towards Khubaib; and when it reached him; he put it on his thigh. When I saw it; I got scared so much that Khubaib noticed my distress while he was carrying the razor in his hand. He said Are you afraid that I will kill it? Allah willing; I will never do that; Later on she used to say; I have never seen a captive better than Khubaib Once I saw him eating from a bunch of grapes although at that time no fruits were available at Mecca; and he was fettered with iron chains; and in fact; it was nothing but food bestowed upon him by Allah. So they took him out of the Sanctuary of Mecca to kill him. He said; Allow me to offer a two-rakat prayer. Then he went to them and said; Had I not been afraid that you would think I was afraid of death; I would have prayed for a longer time. So it was Khubaib who first set the tradition of praying two rakat before being executed. He then said; O Allah! Count them one by one; and added; When I am being martyred as a Muslim; I do not care in what way I receive my death for Allah Sake; because this death is in Allah Cause. If He wishes; He will bless the cut limbs. Then Uqba Bin AlHarith got up and martyred him. The narrator added: The Quraish infidels sent some people to Aasi m in order to bring a part of his body so that his death might be known for certain; for Aasi m had killed one of their chiefs on the day of Badr. I came out with my father Husail to participate in the Battle ; but we were caught by the disbelievers of Quraish. They said: Do you intend to go to Muhammad? We said: We do not intend to go to him; but we wish to go back to Medina. So they took from us a covenant in the name of God that we would turn back to Medina and would not fight on the side of Muhammad ﷺ. So; we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and related the incident to him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18740Abu Haraira reported: The people said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : Messenger of Allah; shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do you feel any trouble in seeing the moon on the night when it is full? They said: Messenger of Allah; no. He the Messenger further said: Do you feel any trouble in seeing the sun; when there is no cloud over it? They said: Messenger of Allah. no. He the Holy Prophet said: Verily you would see Him like this as you see the sun and the moon. God will gather people on the Day of Resurrection and say: Let every people follow what they worshipped. Those who worshipped the sun would follow the sun; and those who worshipped the moon would follow the moon; and those who worshipped the devils would follow the devils. This Ummah of Islam alone would be left behind and there would be hypocrites too amongst it. Allah would then come to them in a form other than His own Form; recognisable to them; and would say: I am your Lord. They would say: We take refuge with Allah from thee. We will stay here till our Lord comes to us. and when our Lord would come we would recognise Him. Subsequently Allah would come to them in His own Form; recognisable to them; and say: I am your Lord. They would say: Thou art our Lord. And they would follow Him; and a bridge would be set over the Hell; and I the Holy Prophet and my Ummah would be the first to pass over it; and none but the messengers would speak on that day; and the prayer of the messengers on that day would be: O Allah! grant safety; grant safety. In Hell; there would be long spits like the thorns of Sadan He the Holy Prophet said: Have you seen Sadan? They replied: Yes; Messenger of Allah. He said: Verily those hooks would be like the thorns of Sadan; but no one knows their size except Allah. These would seize people for their misdeeds. Some of them would escape for their good deeds; and some would be rewarded for their deeds till they get salvation. When Allah would finish judging His bondsmen and because of His mercy decide to take out of Hell such people as He pleases. He would command the angels to bring out those who had not associated anything with Allah; to whom Allah decided to show mercy. those who would say: There is no god but Allah. They the angels would recognise them in the Fire by the marks of prostration; for Hell-fire will devour everything limb of the sons of Adam except the marks of prostration. Allah has forbidden the fire to consume the marks of prostration. They will be taken out of the Fire having been burnt; and the water of life would be poured over them; and they will sprout as seed does In the silt carried by flood. Then Allah would finish judging amongst His bondsmen; but a man who will be the last to enter Paradise will remain facing Hell and will say: O my Lord I turn my face away from Hell; for its air has poisoned me ard its blaze has burnt me. He will then call to Allah as long as Allah would wish that he should call to Him. Then Allah; Blessed and Exalted; would say: If I did that; perhaps you would ask for more than that. He would say: I would not ask You more than this; and he would give his Lord covenants and agreements as Allah wished; and so He would turn his face away from the Fire When he turns towards the Paradise and sees it; he will remain silent as long as Allah wishes him to remain so. He will then say: O my Lord I bring me forward to the gate of the Paradise. Allah would say to him: Did you not give covenants and agreements that you would not ask for anything besides what I had given you. Woe to thee! O son of Adam; how treacherous you are! He would say: O my Lord! and would continue calling to Allah till He would say to him: If I grant you that; perhaps you will ask for more. He will reply: No; by Thy greatness; and he will give His Lord promises and covenants as Allah had wished. He would then bring him to the gate of the Paradise; and when he would stand at the gate of the Paradise; it would lay open before him. and he would see the bounty and the joy that there is in it. He would remain quiet as long as Allah would desire him to remain silent. He would then say: O my Lord; admit me to Paradise. Allah. Blessed and Exalted; would say: Did you not give covenants and agreements that you would not ask for anything more than what I had granted you? Woe to you! son of Adam; how treacherous you are! And he would say: O my Lord; I do not wish to be the most miserable of Thy creatures. He would continue calling upon Allah till Allah; Blessed and Exalted; would laugh. When Allah would laugh at him; He would say: Enter the Paradise. When he would enter; Allah would say: State your wish. He would express his wishes till Allah would remind him the desire of such and such things. When his desires would be exhausted Allah would say: That is for thee and; besides it; the like of it also. Ata Bin Yazid said: Abu Saeed AlKhudri was with Abu Huraira and be did not reject anything from the hadith narrated by him; but when Abu Huraira narrated: Allah said to that man; ind its like along with it; Abu Saeed said: Ten like it along with it; O Abu Huraira. Abu Huraira said: I do not remember except the words: That is for you and a similar one along with it. Abu Saeed said: I bear witness to the fact that I remembered from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ his words: That is for thee and ten like it. SahihMuslim-017-001-21145Abd AlRabman Bin Abu Bakr reported that the people of Suffa were very poor. Once the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his Companions : He who amongst you has food for two persons should take three guests with him. and he who has with him food for four persons should take five or six guests with him for entertaining them. It was in accordance with these instructions of the Holy Prophet that Abu Bakr brought three persons; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought ten persons as guests to their respective houses. Abu Bakr had brought three persons he himself; and myself ; my father and my mother along with therm. He the narrator said: I do not know whether he also said: My wife and one servant who was common between our house and that of Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr had had his evening meal with Allah Apostle ﷺ. He stayed here until night prayer had been offered. He then came back to the house of Allah Apostle and stayed there until Allah Messenger ﷺ felt drowsy and Abu Bakr then came back to his own house when a considerable part of the night had been over; as Allah had desired. His wife said to him: What held you back from your guests? He said: Oh! have you not served them the evening meal by this time ? She said: It was in fact served to them. but they refused to eat until you came. He Abdulrahman said: I slunk away and bid myself. He Abu Bakr said: O; you stupid fellow; and he reprimanded me; and said to the guests: Eat; though it may not be pleasant now. He said: By Allah. I will never eat it He Abdulrahman said: By Allah. we did not take a morsel when from beneath that there appeared more until they had eaten to their fill; and lo! it was more than what it was before. Abu Bakr saw that and found that it was so or more than that. He said to his wife: Sister of Band Firis; what is th-is? She said: By the coolness of my eyes. it is in excess by three times over the previous one. Then Abu Bakr ate saying: That was from the Satan viz. his vow for not eating the food. He then took a morsel out of that and then took it the rest to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and it was kept there until morning; and during those days there was a covenant between us and some other people; and the period of covenant was over; and we had appointed twelve officials with every person amongst them. It is Allah only Who knows as to how many people were there with each of them. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29707Abu Huraira said The Prophet ﷺ sent ten persons on an expedition and appointed Aasi m Bin Thabit their commander. About one hundred men of Hudhail who were archers came out to attack them. When Aasi m felt their presence; they took cover in a hillock. They aid to them Come down and surrender and we make a covenant and pact with you that we shall not kill any of you. Aasi m said I do not come to the protection of a disbeliever. Then they shot them with arrows and killed Aasi m in a company of seven persons. The other three persons came down to their covenant and pact. They were Khubaib; Zaid Bin AlLathnah and another man. When they overpowered them; they untied their bow strings and tied them with them. The third person said This is the first treachery. I swear by Allaah; I shall not accompany you. In them my companions is an example for me. They pulled him; but he refused to accompany them; so they killed him. Khubaib remained their captive until they agreed to kill him. He asked for a razor to shave his pubes. When they brought him outside to kill him. Khubaib said to them Let me offer two rakahs of prayer. He then said I swear by Allaah; if you did not think that I did this out of fear. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29806Narrated Amr Ibn Abasah: Sulaym Ibn Amir; a man of Himyar; said: There was a covenant between Muawiyah and the Byzantines; and he was going towards their country; and when the covenant came to an end; he attacked them. A man came on a horse; or a packhorse saying; Allah is Most Great; Allah is Most Great; let there be faithfulness and not treachery. And when they looked they found that he was Amr Ibn Abasah. Muawiyah sent for him and questioned him about that. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: When one has covenant with people he must not strengthen or loosen it till its term comes to an end or he brings it to an end in agreement with them to make both the parties equal.
