Say not "Trinity": desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1597		Narrated Abu Huraira and Zaid Bin Khalid: The verdict of Allah Messenger ﷺ was sought about an unmarried slave girl guilty of illegal intercourse. He replied; If she commits illegal sexual intercourse; then flog her fifty stripes ; and if she commits illegal sexual intercourse after that for the second time ; then flog her fifty stripes ; and if she commits illegal sexual intercourse for the third time ; then flog her fifty stripes and sell her for even a hair rope. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1614		Narrated Ibn Abbas: Lian was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet; Aasi m Bin Adi said a statement about it; and when he left; a man from his tribe came to him complaining that he had seen a man with his wife. Aasi m said; I have been put to trial only because of my statement. So he took the man to the Prophet ﷺ and the man told him about the incident. The man husband was of yellow complexion; thin; and of lank hair; while the man whom he had accused of having been with his wife; was reddish brown with fat thick legs and fat body. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Allah! Reveal the truth. Later on the lady delivered a child resembling the man whom the husband had accused of having been with her. So the Prophet ﷺ made them take the oath of Lian. A man said to Ibn Abbas in the gathering; Was that the same lady about whom the Prophet ﷺ said; If I were to stone any lady for committing illegal sexual intercourse to death without witnesses; I would have stoned that lade to death? Ibn Abbas said; No; that was another lady who used to behave in such a suspicious way among the Muslims that one might accuse her of committing illegal sexual intercourse. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1763		Narrated Abu Qilaba: Once Umar Bin Abd AlAziz sat on his throne in the courtyard of his house so that the people might gather before him. Then he admitted them and when they came in ; he said; What do you think of AlQasama? They said; We say that it is lawful to depend on AlQasama in Qisas; as the previous Muslim Caliphs carried out Qisas depending on it. Then he said to me; O Abu Qilaba! What do you say about it? He let me appear before the people and I said; O Chief of the Believers! You have the chiefs of the army staff and the nobles of the Arabs. If fifty of them testified that a married man had committed illegal sexual intercourse in Damascus but they had not seen him doing so ; would you stone him? He said; No. I said; If fifty of them testified that a man had committed theft in Hums; would you cut off his hand though they did not see him? He replied; No. I said; By Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: 1 A person who killed somebody unjustly; was killed in Qisas; 2 a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and 3 a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate. Then the people said; Didnt Anas Bin Malik narrate that Allah Messenger ﷺ cut off the hands of the thieves; branded their eyes and then; threw them in the sun? I said; I shall tell you the narration of Anas. Anas said: Eight persons from the tribe of Ukl came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and gave the Pledge of allegiance for Islam became Muslim. The climate of the place Medina did not suit them; so they became sick and complained about that to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said to them ; Wont you go out with the shepherd of our camels and drink of the camels milk and urine as medicine ? They said; Yes. So they went out and drank the camels milk and urine; and after they became healthy; they killed the shepherd of Allah Messenger ﷺ and took away all the camels. This news reached Allah Messenger ﷺ ; so he sent men to follow their traces and they were captured and brought to the Prophet. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet; and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron; and then he threw them in the sun till they died. I said; What can be worse than what those people did? They deserted Islam; committed murder and theft. Then Anbasa Bin Saeed said; By Allah; I never heard a narration like this of today. I said; O Anbasa! You deny my narration? Anbasa said; No; but you have related the narration in the way it should be related. By Allah; these people are in welfare as long as this Sheikh Abu Qilaba is among them. I added; Indeed in this event there has been a tradition set by Allah Messenger ﷺ. The narrator added: Some Ansari people came to the Prophet ﷺ and discussed some matters with him; a man from amongst them went out and was murdered. Those people went out after him; and behold; their companion was swimming in blood. They returned to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said to him; O Allah Apostle; we have found our companion who had talked with us and gone out before us; swimming in blood killed. Allah Messenger ﷺ went out and asked them; Whom do you suspect or whom do you think has killed him? They said; We think that the Jews have killed him. The Prophet ﷺ sent for the Jews and asked them; Did you kill this person ? They replied; No. He asked the AlAnsars; Do you agree that I let fifty Jews take an oath that they have not killed him? They said; It matters little for the Jews to kill us all and then take false oaths. He said; Then would you like to receive the Diya after fifty of you have taken an oath that the Jews have killed your man ? They said; We will not take the oath. Then the Prophet ﷺ himself paid them the Diya Blood-money. The narrator added; The tribe of Hudhail repudiated one of their men for his evil conduct in the Pre-lslamic period of Ignorance. Then; at a place called AlBatha near Mecca ; the man attacked a Yemenite family at night to steal from them; but a. man from the family noticed him and struck him with his sword and killed him. The tribe of Hudhail came and captured the Yemenite and brought him to Umar during the Hajj season and said; He has killed our companion. The Yemenite said; But these people had repudiated him i.e.; their companion. Umar said; Let fifty persons of Hudhail swear that they had not repudiated him. So forty-nine of them took the oath and then a person belonging to them; came from Sham and they requested him to swear similarly; but he paid one-thousand Dirhams instead of taking the oath. They called another man instead of him and the new man shook hands with the brother of the deceased. Some people said; We and those fifty men who had taken false oaths AlQasama set out; and when they reached a place called Nakhlah; it started raining so they entered a cave in the mountain; and the cave collapsed on those fifty men who took the false oath; and all of them died except the two persons who had shaken hands with each other. They escaped death but a stone fell on the leg of the brother of the deceased and broke it; whereupon he survived for one year and then died. I further said; Abdul Malik Bin Marwan sentenced a man to death in Qisas equality in punishment for murder; basing his judgment on AlQasama; but later on he regretted that judgment and ordered that the names of the fifty persons who had taken the oath AlQasama ; be erased from the register; and he exiled them in Sham. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1941		Narrated Abu Dhar: While I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ at the Hurra of Medina in the evening; the mountain of Uhud appeared before us. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Abu Dhar! I would not like to have gold equal to Uhud mountain for me; unless nothing of it; not even a single Dinar remains of it with me; for more than one day or three days; except that single Dinar which I will keep for repaying debts. I will spend all of it the whole amount among Allah slaves like this and like this and like this. The Prophet ﷺ pointed out with his hand to illustrate it and then said; O Abu Dhar! I replied; Labbaik wa Sadaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Those who have much wealth in this world will be the least rewarded in the Hereafter except those who do like this and like this i.e.; spend their money in charity. Then he ordered me; Remain at your place and do not leave it; O Abu Dhar; till I come back. He went away till he disappeared from me. Then I heard a voice and feared that something might have happened to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and I intended to go to find out but I remembered the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ that I should not leave; my place; so I kept on waiting and after a while the Prophet ﷺ came ; and I said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; I heard a voice and I was afraid that something might have happened to you; but then I remembered your statement and stayed there. The Prophet ﷺ said; That was Gabriel who came to me and informed me that whoever among my followers died without joining others in worship with Allah; would enter Paradise. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft? He said; Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft. SahihMuslim-017-001-17364		Aisha; the wife of Allah Apostle ﷺ ; reported that the Quraish were concerned about the woman who had committed theft during the lifetime of Allah Apostle ﷺ ; in the expedition of Victory of Mecca. They said: Who would speak to Allah Messenger ﷺ about her? They again said: Who can dare do this but Usama Bin Zaid; the loved one of Allah Messenger ﷺ ? She was brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ and Usama Bin Zaid spoke about her to him interceded on her behalf. The color of the face of Allah Messenger ﷺ changed; and he said: Do you intercede in one of the prescribed punishments of Allah? He Usama said: Messenger of Allah; seek forgiveness for me. When it was dusk. Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up and gave an address. He first glorified Allah as He deserves; and then said: Now to our topic. This injustice destroyed those before you that when any one of high rank committed theft among them; they spared him; and when any weak one among them committed theft; they inflicted the prescribed punishment upon him. By Him in Whose Hand is my life; even if Fatima daughter of Muhammad were to commit theft; I would have cut off her hand. He the Holy Prophet then commanded about that woman who had committed theft; and her hand was cut off. Aisha further said: Hers was a good repentance; and she later on married and used to come to me after that; and I conveyed her needs and problems to Allah Messenger ﷺ. SahihMuslim-017-001-17367		Ubada Bin AlSamit reported: Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: Receive teaching from me; receive teaching from me. Allah has ordained a way for those women. And in case of married male committing adultery with a married female; they shall receive one hundred lashes and be stoned to death. SahihMuslim-017-001-17369		Ubada Bin AlSamit reported that whenever Allah Apostle ﷺ received revelation; he felt its rigour and the complexion of his face changed. One day revelation descended upon him; he felt the same rigour. When it was over and he felt relief; he said: Take from me. Verily Allah has ordained a way for them the women who commit fornication ;: When a married man commits adultery with a married woman; and an unmarried male with an unmarried woman; then in case of married persons there is a punishment of one hundred lashes and then stoning to death. SahihMuslim-017-001-17377		Jabir Bin Samura reported: As he was being brought to Allah Apostle ﷺ I saw Maiz Bin Malik short-statured person with strong sinews; having no cloak around him. He bore witness against his own self four times that he had committed adultery; whereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Perhaps you kissed her or embraced her. He said: No. by God; one deviating from the path of virtue has committed adultery. He then got him stoned to death ; and then delivered the address: Behold; as we set out for Jihad in the cause of Allah; one of you lagged behind and shrieked like the bleating of a male goat; and gave a small quantity of milk. SahihMuslim-017-001-17381		Abu Saeed reported that a person belonging to the clan of Aslam; who was called Ma; iz Bin Malik; came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said: I have committed immorality adultery ; so inflict punishment upon me. Allah Apostle ﷺ turned him away again and again. He then asked his people about the state of his mind. They said: We do not know of any ailment of his except that he has committed something about which he thinks that he would not be able to relieve himself of its burden but with the Hadd being imposed upon him. He Maiz came back to Allah Apostle ﷺ and he commanded us to stone him. We took him to the Baqi AlGharqad the graveyard of Medina. We neither tied him nor dug any ditch for him. We attacked him with bones; with clods and pebbles. He ran away and we ran after him until he came upon the ston ground AlHarra and stopped there and we stoned him with heavy stones of the Harra until he became motionless lie died. He the Holy Prophet then addressed us in the evening saying Whenever we set forth on an expedition in the cause of Allah; some one of those connected with us shrieked under the pressure of sexual lust as the bleating of a male goat. It is essential that if a person having committed such a deed is brought to me; I should punish him. He neither begged forgiveness for him nor cursed him. SahihMuslim-017-001-17385		Abdullah Bin Buraida reported on the authority of his father that Maiz Bin Malik AlAslami came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; I have wronged myself; I have committed adultery and I earnestly desire that you should purify me. He turned him away. On the following day; he Maiz again came to him and said: Allah Messenger; I have committed adultery. Allah Messenger ﷺ turned him away for the second time; and sent him to his people saying: Do you know if there is anything wrong with his mind. They denied of any such thing in him and said: We do not know him but as a wise good man among us; so far as we can judge. He Maiz came for the third time; and he the Holy Prophet sent him as he had done before. He asked about him and they informed him that there was nothing wrong with him or with his mind. When it was the fourth time; a ditch was dug for him and he the Holy Prophet pronounced judg- ment about him and he wis stoned. He the narrator said: There came to him the Holy Prophet a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah Messenger; I have committed adultery; so purify me. He the Holy Prophet turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah Messenger; Why do you turn me away? Perhaps; you turn me away as you turned away Maiz. By Allah; I have become pregnant. He said: Well; if you insist upon it; then go away until you give birth to the child. When she was delivered she came with the child wrapped in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him; she came to him the Holy Prophet with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah Apostle; here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He the Holy Prophet entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her. Allah Apostle ﷺ heard his Khalids curse that he had huried upon her. Thereupon he the Holy Prophet said: Khalid; be gentle. By Him in Whose Hand is my life; she has made such a repentance that even if a wrongful tax-collector were to repent; he would have been forgiven. SahihMuslim-017-001-17390		Abdullah Bin Umar reported that a Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ who had committed adultery. Allah Messenger ﷺ came to the Jews and said: What do you find in Torah for one who commits adultery? They said: We darken their faces and make them ride on the donkey with their faces turned to the opposite direction and their backs touching each other ; and then they are taken round the city. He said: Bring Torah if you are truthful. They brought it and recited it until when they came to the verse pertaining to stoning; the person who was reading placed his hand on the verse pertaining to stoning; and read only that which was between his hands and what was subsequent to that. Abdullah Bin Salim who was at that time with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Command him the reciter to lift his hand. He lifted it and there was; underneath that; the verse pertaining to stoning. Allah Messenger ﷺ pronounced judgment about both of them and they were stoned. Abdullah Bin Umar said: I was one of those who stoned them; and I saw him the Jew protecting her the Jewess with his body. SahihMuslim-017-001-17398		Abu Huraira reported that he heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: When the slave-woman of any of you commits adultery and this offence of hers becomes clear; she should be flogged as the prescribed punishment; but hurl no reproach at her. If she commits adultery again; she should again be punished by flogging; but hurl no reproach upon her. SahihMuslim-017-001-18491		Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah observed: The fornicator who fornicates is not a believer so long as he commits it and no thief who steals is a believer as long as he commits theft; and no drunkard who drinks wine is a believer as long as he drinks it. Abd AlMalik Bin Abi Bakr narrated this on the authority of Abu Bakr Bin Abdulrahman Bin Harith and then said: Abu Huraira made this addition: No plunderer who plunders a valuable thing that attracts the attention of people is a believer so long as he commits this act. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10258		Sulaiman Bin Amr Bin AlAhwas narrated from his father who said: During the Farewell Pilgrimage; I heard the Messenger of Allah s.a.w saying:Which day is this? When the month of Ramadan came; I feared lest I should have intercourse with my wife; and this evil should remain with me till the morning. So I made my wife like my mother back to me till the end of Ramadan. But one night when she was waiting upon me; something of her was revealed. Suddenly I jumped upon her. When the morning came I went to my people and informed them about this matter. I said: Go along with me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They said: No; by Allah. So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of the matter. He said: Have you really committed it; Salamah? I said: I committed it twice; Messenger of Allah. I am content with the Commandment of Allah; the Exalted; so take a decision about me according to what Allah has shown you. He said: Free a slave. I said: By Him Who sent you with truth; I do not possess a neck other than this: and I struck the surface of my neck. He said: Then fast two consecutive months. I said: Whatever I suffered is due to fasting. He said: Feed sixty poor people with a wasq of dates. I said: By Him Who sent you with truth; we passed the night hungry; there was no food in our house. He said: Then go to the collector of sadaqah of Banu Zurayq; he must give it to you. Then feed sixty poor people with a wasq of dates; and you and your family eat the remaining dates. Then I came back to my people; and said to them : I found with you poverty and bad opinion; and I found with the Prophet ﷺ prosperity and good opinion. He has commanded me to give alms to you. It has been transmitted by AlLaith from Yunus on the authority of Ibn Shihab through his chain of narrators. He said in this version: A woman borrowed goods. Then he said: Cut off his foot. So his left foot was cut off. He was brought a third time and he said: Kill him. The people said: He has committed theft; Messenger of Allah! So he said: Cut off his hand. So his left hand was cut off. He was brought a fourth time and he said: Kill him. The people said: He has committed theft; Messenger of Allah! So he said: Cut off his foot. So his right foot was cut off. He was brought a fifth time and he said: Kill him. So we took him away and killed him. We then dragged him and cast him into a well and threw stones over him. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26615		Narrated Nuaym Ibn Huzzal: Yazid Ibn Nuaym Ibn Huzzal; on his father authority said: Maiz Ibn Malik was an orphan under the protection of my father. He had illegal sexual intercourse with a slave-girl belonging to a clan. My father said to him: Go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and inform him of what you have done; for he may perhaps ask Allah for your forgiveness. His purpose in that was simply a hope that it might be a way of escape for him. So he went to him and said: Messenger of Allah! I have committed fornication; so inflict on me the punishment ordained by Allah. He the Prophet turned away from him; so he came back and said: Messenger of Allah! I have committed fornication; so inflict on me the punishment ordained by Allah. He again turned away from him; so he came back and said: Messenger of Allah! I have committed fornication; so inflict on me the punishment ordained by Allah. When he uttered it four times; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: You have said it four times. With whom did you commit it? He replied: With so and so. He asked: Did you lie down with her? He replied: Yes. He asked: Had your skin been in contact with hers? He replied. Yes. He asked: Did you have intercourse with her? He said: Yes. So he the Prophet gave orders that he should be stoned to death. He was then taken out to the Harrah; and while he was being stoned he felt the effect of the stones and could not bear it and fled. But Abdullah Ibn Unays encountered him when those who had been stoning him could not catch up with him. He threw the bone of a camel foreleg at him; which hit him and killed him. They then went to the Prophet ﷺ and reported it to him. He said: Why did you not leave him alone. Perhaps he might have repented and been forgiven by Allah. He said: So he had him stoned to death and gave an address; saying: Beware; whenever we go out on an expedition in the path of Allah; one of them I.e. the people lags behind with a bleating sound like that of a he-goat; and gives modicum of his milk i.e. sperm to one of the women. If Allah gives control over any of them; I shall deter him from them i.e. women by punishing him severely. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called her guardian. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Be good to her; and when she bears a child; bring her to me. When she gave birth to the child; he brought her to him. The Prophet ﷺ gave orders regarding her; and her clothes were tied to her. He then commanded regarding her and she was stoned to death. He commanded the people to pray and they prayed over her. Thereupon Umar said: Are you praying over her; Messenger of Allah; when she has committed fornication? He said: By Him in Whose hand my soul is; she has repented to such an extent that if it were divided among the seventy people of Medina; it would have been enough for them all. And what do you find better than the fact that she gave her life. Aban did not say in his version: Then her clothes were tied to her. So they came to the Prophet ﷺ who was sitting in the Masjid among his companions. They said: AbulQasim; what do you think about a man and a woman who committed fornication? He did not speak to them a word till he went to their school. He stood at the gate and said: I adjure you by Allah Who revealed the Torah to Moses; what punishment do you find in the Torah for a person who commits fornication; if he is married? They said: He shall be blackened with charcoal; taken round a donkey among the people; and flogged. A young man among them kept silent. When the Prophet ﷺ emphatically adjured him; he said: By Allah; since you have adjured us we inform you that we find stoning in the Torah is the punishment for fornication. The Prophet ﷺ said: So when did you lessen the severity of Allah command? He said: A relative of one of our kings had committed fornication; but his stoning was suspended. Then a man of a family of common people committed fornication. He was to have been stoned; but his people intervened and said: Our man shall not be stoned until you bring your man and stone him. So they made a compromise on this punishment between them. The Prophet ﷺ said: So I decide in accordance with what the Torah says. He then commanded regarding them and they were stoned to death. AlZuhri said: We have been informed that this verse was revealed about them: It was We Who revealed the Law to Moses : therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews; by the Prophet who bowed as in Islam to Allah will. MuwataMalik-017-001-34768		Malik related to me from Yahya Ibn Said from Said Ibn AlMusayab that a man from the Aslam tribe came to Abu Bakr AlSiddiq and said to him; I have committed adultery. Abu Bakr said to him; Have you mentioned this to anyone else? He said; No. Abu Bakr said to him; Then cover it up with the veil of Allah. Allah accepts tawba from his slaves. His self was still unsettled; so he went to Umar Ibn AlKhattab. He told him the same as he had said to Abu Bakr; and Umar told him the same as Abu Bakr had said to him. His self was still not settled so he went to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and said to him; I have committed adultery; insistently. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; turned away from him three times. Each time the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; turned away from him until it became too much. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; questioned his family; Does he have an illness which affects his mind; or is he mad? They said; Messenger of Allah; by Allah; he is well. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Unmarried or married? They said; Married; Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave the order and he was stoned. MuwataMalik-017-001-34780		Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from Ubaydullah Ibn Abdullah Ibn Utba Ibn Masud from Abu Huraira and Zayd Ibn Khalid AlJuhani that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was asked about a slave-girl who committed fornication and was not muhsana. He said; If she commits fornication; then flog her. If she commits fornication again; then flog her; and if she commits fornication again; then sell her; if only for a rope.
