So I walked in the shade; away from the moonlight; but the Prophet ﷺ looked behind and saw me and said; Who is that? I replied; Abu Dhar; let Allah get me sacrificed for you! He said; O Abu Dhar; come here! So I accompanied him for a while and then he said; The rich are in fact the poor little rewarded on the Day of Resurrection except him whom Allah gives wealth which he gives in charity to his right; left; front and back; and does good deeds with it. I walked with him a little longer. Then he said to me; Sit down here. So he made me sit in an open space surrounded by rocks; and said to me; Sit here till I come back to you. He went towards AlHarra till I could not see him; and he stayed away for a long period; and then I heard him saying; while he was coming; Even if he had committed theft; and even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse? When he came; I could not remain patient and asked him; O Allah Prophet! Let Allah get me sacrificed for you! Whom were you speaking to by the side of AlHarra? I did not hear anybody responding to your talk. He said; It was Gabriel who appeared to me beside AlHarra and said; Give the good news to your followers that whoever dies without having worshipped anything besides Allah; will enter Paradise. Allah Apostle remained sitting and some people remained sitting with him after the other guests had left. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ got up and went away; and I too; followed him till he reached the door of Aisha room. | SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3381 | | Narrated Uthman: the son of Muhib An Egyptian who came and performed the Hajj to the Kaba saw some people sitting. He enquire; Who are these people? Somebody said; They are the tribe of Quraish. He said; Who is the old man sitting amongst them? The people replied; He is Abdullah Bin Umar. He said; O Ibn Umar! I want to ask you about something; please tell me about it. Do you know that Uthman fled away on the day of the battle of Uhud? Ibn Umar said; Yes. The Egyptian man said; Do you know that Uthman was absent on the day of the battle of Badr and did not join it? Ibn Umar said; Yes. The man said; Do you know that he failed to attend the Ar Ridwan pledge and did not witness it i.e. Hudaibiya pledge of allegiance ? Ibn Umar said; Yes. The man said; Allahu Akbar! Ibn Umar said; Let me explain to you all these three things. As for his flight on the day of Uhud; I testify that Allah has excused him and forgiven him; and as for his absence from the battle of Badr; it was due to the fact that the daughter of Allah Messenger ﷺ was his wife and she was sick then. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to him; You will receive the same reward and share of the booty as anyone of those who participated in the battle of Badr if you stay with her. As for his absence from the AlRidwan pledge of allegiance; had there been any person in Mecca more respectable than Uthman to be sent as a representative. Allah Messenger ﷺ would have sent him instead of him. No doubt; Allah Messenger ﷺ had sent him; and the incident of the AlRidwan pledge of Allegiance happened after Uthman had gone to Mecca. Allah Messenger ﷺ held out his right hand saying; This is Uthman hand. He stroke his other hand with it saying; This pledge of allegiance is on the behalf of Uthman. | SahihAlBukhari-017-001-395 | | Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: The Prophet ﷺ used to proceed to the Mousalla on the days of Eid AlFitr and Eid AlAdha; the first thing to begin with was the prayer and after that he would stand in front of the people and the people would keep sitting in their rows. Then he would preach to them; advise them and give them orders; i.e. Khutba. And after that if he wished to send an army for an expedition; he would do so; or if he wanted to give and order; he would do so; and then depart. The people followed this tradition till I went out with Marwan; the Governor of Medina; for the prayer of Eid AlAdha or Eid AlFitr. When we reached the Mousalla; there was a pulpit made by Kathir Bin AlSalt. Marwan wanted to get up on that pulpit before the prayer. I got hold of his clothes but he pulled them and ascended the pulpit and delivered the Khutba before the prayer. I said to him; By Allah; you have changed the Prophet tradition. He replied; O Abu Said! Gone is that which you know. I said; By Allah! What I know is better than what I do not know. Meanwhile Ubai Bin Kaab passed by them and Ibn Abbas called him saying; My friend and I have differed regarding Moses companion whom Moses asked the way to meet. Have you heard Allah Messenger ﷺ mentioning something about him? He said; Yes; I heard Allah Apostle saying; While Moses was sitting in the company of some Israelites; a man came and asked him ; Do you know anyone who is more learned than you? Moses replied; No. So; Allah sent the Divine Inspiration to Moses: Yes; Our slave; Khadir is more learned than you. Moses asked how to meet him i.e. Khadir. So; the fish; was made; as a sign for him; and he was told that when the fish was lost; he should return and there he would meet him. So; Moses went on looking for the sign of the fish in the sea. The servant boy of Moses said to him; Do you know that when we were sitting by the side of the rock; I forgot the fish; and t was only Satan who made me forget to tell you about it. So I went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and informed him of that; he asked them to accept the fruits of my garden and excuse my father; but they refused. So; Allah Messenger ﷺ did not give them the fruits; nor did he cut them and distribute them among them; but said; I will come to you tomorrow morning. So; he came to us the next morning and walked about in between the date-palms and invoked Allah to bless their fruits. I plucked the fruits and gave back all the rights of the creditors in full; and a lot of fruits were left for us. | SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6109 | | Narrated Abu Jamra: I used to sit with Ibn Abbas and he made me sit on his sitting place. He requested me to stay with him in order that he might give me a share from his property. So I stayed with him for two months. Once he told me that when the delegation of the tribe of Abdul Qais came to the Prophet; the Prophet ﷺ asked them; Who are the people i.e. you ? Or who are the delegate? They replied; We are from the tribe of Rabia. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to them; Welcome! O people or O delegation of Abdul Qais ! Neither will you have disgrace nor will you regret. They said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! We cannot come to you except in the sacred month and there is the infidel tribe of Mudar intervening between you and us. So please order us to do something good religious deeds so that we may inform our people whom we have left behind at home ; and that we may enter Paradise by acting on them. Then they asked about drinks what is legal and what is illegal. The Prophet ﷺ ordered them to do four things and forbade them from four things. He ordered them to believe in Allah Alone and asked them; Do you know what is meant by believing in Allah Alone? They replied; Allah and His Apostle know better. Thereupon the Prophet ﷺ said; It means: 1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah Messenger ﷺ. 2. To offer prayers perfectly 3. To pay the Zakat obligatory charity 4. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan. 5. And to pay AlKhumus one fifth of the booty to be given in Allah Cause. Then he forbade them four things; namely; Hantam; Dubba; Naqir Ann Muzaffat or Muqaiyar; These were the names of pots in which Alcoholic drinks were prepared The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the container of wine and he meant the wine itself. We replied; This white man reclining on his arm. The man then addressed him; O Son of Abdul Muttalib. The Prophet ﷺ said; I am here to answer your questions. The man said to the Prophet; I want to ask you something and will be hard in questioning. So do not get angry. The Prophet ﷺ said; Ask whatever you want.
