He then did not prostrate but stood up and recited a prolonged recitation which was shorter than the first recitation. He again said Takbir and then bowed a prolonged bowing but shorter than the first one and then said; Samia Allahu Lyman hamidah Rabbana walak-lhamd; Allah heard him who sent his praises to Him. When he stood straight from bowing he would say Sami allahu liman hamidah Rabbana wa laka Alhamd. And he would again start reciting. In the eclipse prayer there are four bowing and four prostrations in two rakat. AlAuzai and others said that they had heard AlZuhri from Urwa from Aisha saying; In the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ the sun eclipsed; and he made a person to announce: Prayer in congregation. He led the prayer and performed four bowing and four prostrations in two rakat. Narrated AlWalid that Abdulrahman Bin Namir had informed him that he had heard the same. Ibn Shihab heard the same. So I dragged him to the Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said: O Allah Messenger I have heard this man reciting Surat AlFurqan in a way in which you have not taught me; and you did teach me Surah AlFurqan. On that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Umar; release him! Recite; O Hisham. So Hisham recited before him in the way as I heard him reciting. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; It has been revealed like this. He knelt down and kissed him and then started weeping and said; My father and my mother be sacrificed for you; O Allah Prophet! Allah will not combine two deaths on you. You have died the death which was written for you. Narrated Abu Salama from Ibn Abbas : Abu Bakr came out and Umar ; was addressing the people; and Abu Bakr told him to sit down but Umar refused. Abu Bakr again told him to sit down but Umar again refused.
