SahihAlBukhari-017-001-136Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet ﷺ In the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ the sun eclipsed and he went to the Masjid and the people aligned behind him. He said the Takbir starting the prayer and prolonged the recitation from the Quran and then said Takbir and performed a prolonged bowing; then he lifted his head and said; Sami allahu liman hamidah Allah heard him who sent his praises to Him. He then did not prostrate but stood up and recited a prolonged recitation which was shorter than the first recitation. He again said Takbir and then bowed a prolonged bowing but shorter than the first one and then said; Samia Allahu Lyman hamidah Rabbana walak-lhamd; Allah heard him who sent his praises to Him. O our Sustainer! All the praises are for You and then prostrated and did the same in the second raka; thus he completed four bowing and four prostrations. The sun eclipse had cleared before he finished the prayer. After the prayer he stood up; glorified and praised Allah as He deserved and then said; The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of the death or the life i.e. birth of someone. When you see them make haste for the prayer. Narrated AlZuhri: I said to Urwa; When the sun eclipsed at Medina your brother Abdullah Bin AlZubair offered only a two-rakat prayer like that of the morning Fajr prayer. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-153Narrated Aisha: The Prophet ﷺ recited the Quran aloud during the eclipse prayer and when he had finished the eclipse prayer he said the Takbir and bowed. When he stood straight from bowing he would say Sami allahu liman hamidah Rabbana wa laka Alhamd. And he would again start reciting. In the eclipse prayer there are four bowing and four prostrations in two rakat. AlAuzai and others said that they had heard AlZuhri from Urwa from Aisha saying; In the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ the sun eclipsed; and he made a person to announce: Prayer in congregation. He led the prayer and performed four bowing and four prostrations in two rakat. Narrated AlWalid that Abdulrahman Bin Namir had informed him that he had heard the same. Ibn Shihab heard the same. AlZuhri said; I asked Urwa ; What did your brother Abdullah Bin AlZubair do? He prayed two rakat of the eclipse prayer like the morning prayer; when he offered the eclipse prayer in Medina. Urwa replied that he had missed i.e. did not pray according to the Prophet tradition. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1532Umar Bin AlKhattab said: I heard Hisham Bin AlHakim reciting Surat AlFurqan during the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ. I listened to his recitation and noticed that he recited it in several different ways which Allah Messenger ﷺ had not taught me. So I was about to jump over him during his Prayer prayer but I waited till he finished his Prayer prayer whereupon I put; either his upper garment or my upper garment around his neck and seized him by it and asked him; Who has taught you this Surah? He replied: Allah Messenger ﷺ has taught it to me. I said to him ; You have told a lie! By Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ has taught me this Surah which I have heard you reciting. So I dragged him to the Allah Messenger ﷺ. I said: O Allah Messenger I have heard this man reciting Surat AlFurqan in a way in which you have not taught me; and you did teach me Surah AlFurqan. On that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Umar; release him! Recite; O Hisham. So Hisham recited before him in the way as I heard him reciting. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; It has been revealed like this. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Recite; O Umar So recited it. The Prophet ﷺ said; It has been revealed like this. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-185Narrated Aisha: Abu Bakr came riding his horse from his dwelling place in AlSunh. He got down from it; entered the Masjid and did not speak with anybody till he came to me and went direct to the Prophet; who was covered with a marked blanket. Abu Bakr uncovered his face. He knelt down and kissed him and then started weeping and said; My father and my mother be sacrificed for you; O Allah Prophet! Allah will not combine two deaths on you. You have died the death which was written for you. Narrated Abu Salama from Ibn Abbas : Abu Bakr came out and Umar ; was addressing the people; and Abu Bakr told him to sit down but Umar refused. Abu Bakr again told him to sit down but Umar again refused. Then Abu Bakr recited the Tashah-hud i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah Messenger ﷺ and the people attended to Abu Bakr and left Umar. Abu Bakr said; Amma badu; whoever amongst you worshipped Muhammad; then Muhammad is dead; but whoever worshipped Allah; Allah is alive and will never die.
