Hadith PageArabic TextEnglish TranslationBook and Chapter
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3840Narrated Ibn Abbas: Allah Messenger ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca; There is no migration now; but there is Jihad i.e.. holy battle and good intentions. And when you are called for Jihad; you should come out at once Allah Messenger ﷺ also said; on the day of the conquest of Mecca; Allah has made this town a sanctuary since the day He created the Heavens and the Earth. So; it is a sanctuary by Allah Decree till the Day of Resurrection. Fighting in it was not legal for anyone before me; and it was made legal for me only for an hour by daytime. So; it i.e. Mecca is a sanctuary by Allah Decree till the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny bushes should not be cut; and its game should not be chased; its fallen property i.e. Luqata should not be picked up except by one who will announce it publicly; and its grass should not be uprooted; On that AlAbbas said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Except the Idhkhir; because it is used by the goldsmiths and by the people for their houses. On that the Prophet ﷺ said; Except the Idhkhir. The Chapter on Agriculture In The Sanctuary Of Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The sin of a betrayer in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5518Narrated Saeed Bin Abu Saeed AlMaqburi: Abu Shuraih; AlAdawi said that he had said to Amr Bin Saeed when he was sending the troops to Mecca to fight Abdullah Bin AlZubair ; O Chief! Allow me to tell you what Allah Messenger ﷺ said on the day following the Conquest of Mecca. My ears heard that and my heart understood it thoroughly and I saw with my own eyes the Prophet ﷺ when he; after Glorifying and Praising Allah; started saying; Allah; not the people; made Mecca a sanctuary; so anybody who has belief in Allah and the Last Day should neither shed blood in it; nor should he cut down its trees. If anybody tells argues that fighting in it is permissible on the basis that Allah Messenger ﷺ did fight in Mecca; say to him; Allah allowed His Apostle and did not allow you. Allah allowed me only for a few hours on that day of the conquest and today its sanctity is valid as it was before. So; those who are present should inform those who are absent concerning this fact. Abu Shuraih was asked; What did Amr reply? He said; Amr said O Abu Shuraih! I know better than you in this respect Mecca does not give protection to a sinner; a murderer or a thief. The Chapter on Makkah And Praise Allah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on It is not permissible to cut the trees of the Haram in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6160Narrated Said: Abu Shuraih said; When Amr Bin Saeed was sending the troops to Mecca to fight Abdullah Bin AlZubair I said to him; O chief! Allow me to tell you what the Prophet ﷺ said on the day following the conquests of Mecca. My ears heard and my heart comprehended; and I saw him with my own eyes; when he said it. He glorified and praised Allah and then said; Allah and not the people has made Mecca a sanctuary. So anybody who has belief in Allah and the Last Day i.e. a Muslim should neither shed blood in it nor cut down its trees. If anybody argues that fighting is allowed in Mecca as Allah Messenger ﷺ did fight in Mecca ; tell him that Allah gave permission to His Apostle; but He did not give it to you. The Prophet ﷺ added: Allah allowed me only for a few hours on that day of the conquest and today now its sanctity is the same valid as it was before. So it is incumbent upon those who are present to convey it this information to those who are absent. Abu Shuraih was asked; What did Amr reply? He said Amr said; O Abu Shuraih! I know better than you in this respect. Mecca does not give protection to one who disobeys Allah or runs after committing murder; or theft and takes refuge in Mecca. The Chapter on Makkah And Praise Allah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on It is incumbent on those who are present in a religious meeting or conference to convey the knowledge to those who are absent in Sahih AlBukhari
