The people of Hijaz said A judge should not pass a judgment according to his knowledge whether he was a witness at the time he was the judge or before that And if a litigant gives a confession in favor of his opponent in the court in the opinion of some scholars the judge should not pass a judgment against him till the latter calls two witnesses to witness his confession
  3. And some people of Iraq said A judge can pass a judgement according to what he hears or witnesses the litigant confession in the court itself but if the confession takes place outside the court he should not pass the judgment unless two witnesses witness the confession
  4. Narrated Abdullah When we prayed with the Prophet we used to say AlSalam be on Allah from His worshipers AlSalam be on Gabriel AlSalam be on Michael AlSalam be on so and so

When the Prophet finished his prayer he faced us and said Allah Himself is AlSalam Peace so when one sits in the prayer one should say AlTahiyatu li Allahi Was Salawatu Wat Taiyibatu AlSalamu Alaika aiyuhan Nabiyu wa Rah mat Aliahi wa Barakatuhu AlSalamu Alaina wa ala Ibadillahi assalihin for if he says so then it will be for all the pious slave of Allah in the Heavens and the Earth
  6. Peace and Allah Mercy and Blessings be on you O Prophet Peace be on us and on the pious slaves of Allah I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I also testify that Muhammad is Allah slave and His Apostle
  7. He was standing with Hudhaifa Bin AlYaman and Uthman Bin Hunaif to whom he said What have you done Do you think that you have imposed more taxation on the land of AlSwad Iraq than it can bear They replied We have imposed on it what it can bear because of its great yield

  9. Umar said If the property of Umar family covers the debt then pay the debt thereof otherwise request it from Bani Uodi Bin Kaab and if that too is not sufficient ask for it from Quraish tribe and do not ask for it from any one else and pay this debt on my behalf
  10. Talha said I give up my right to Uthman Saad I give up my right to Abdulrahman Bin Aouf
  11. Abdulrahman then said to Uthman and Ali Now which of you is willing to give up his right of candidacy to that he may choose the better of the remaining two bearing in mind that Allah and Islam will be his witnesses

Anas Bin Malik narrated that The Messenger of Allah said There is nothing that the two Guardian Angels raise to Allah that they have preserved in a day or night and Allah finds good in the beginning of the scroll and in the end of the scroll except that Allah Most High says Bear witness that I have forgiven my servant for what is included in the scroll

Abu Hurairah narrated that The Messenger of Allah said Whoever sits in a sitting and engages in much empty meaningless speech and then says before getting from that sitting of his Glory is to You O Allah and praise I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except You I seek You forgiveness and I repent to You Sub U E anaka wa bi U E amdika ashhadu an la ilaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik whatever occurred in that sitting would be forgiven to him

It was narrated from Abu Salamah Bin Abdulrahman and Abu Abdullah AlAgharr the freed slave of the Juhanis better of whom were companions of Abu Hurairah that they heard Abu Hurairah say One prayer in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah is better than one thousand prayers offered in other mosques except AlMasjid AlHaram for the Messenger of Allah was the last of the prophets and his Masjid was the last of the Masjids
  23. Abu Salamah and Abu Abdullah said We do not doubt that Abu Hurairah was speaking on the basis of the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah but we could not verify that Hadith with Abu Hurairah before he died

  30. One of the persons amongst the relatives of the murderer said Should we pay indemnity for one who neither ate nor drank nor made any noise who was just like a nonentity Thereupon Allah Messenger remarked He speaks rhymed phrases like the people of the desert

Jabir Allah be pleased with him reported that the wife of Bashir said to her husband Give to my son your slave as a gift and make for me Allah Messenger a witness He came to Allah Messenger and said The daughter of so and so his wife Amra Bint Rawaha asked me to give my slave as a gift to her son and call for me Allah Messenger as a witness

When Allah Messenger went near the tree he hid himself behind a tree with the intention of hearing something from Ibn sayad before Ibn Sayad could see him but Allah Messenger saw him on a bed with a blanket around him from which a murmuring sound was being heard and Ibn Sayad mother saw Allah Messenger behind the trunk of the palm tree

Ibn Shihab said Umar Bin Thabit AlAnsari informed me that some of the Companions of Allah Messenger informed him that the day when Allah Messenger warned people against the Dajjal he also said There would be written between his two eyes the word Kafir infidel and everyone who would resent his deeds would be able to read or every Muslim would be about to read and he also said Bear this thing in mind that none amongst you would be able to see Allah the Exalted and Glorious until he dies

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Amash with the same chain of transmit ters and the words are Dont sever relations of kinship dont bear enmity against one another dont bear aversion against one another and dont feel envy against the other and live as fellow brothers as Allah has commanded you

Ubay Bin Kaab said What is the iiiatter He said I sought permission yesterday from Umar Bin Khattab three times but he did not permit me so I came back then I went to him today and visited him and informed him that I had come to him yesterday and greeted him thrice then came back whereupon he said Yes we did hear you but be were at that time busy but why did you not seek permission further and you must have never gone back until you were permitted to do so

Narrated Buraydah Ibn AlHasib The Messenger of Allah heard a man saying O Allah I ask Thee I bear witness that there is no god but Thou the One He to Whom men repair Who has not begotten and has not been begotten and to Whom no one is equal and he said You have supplicated Allah using His Greatest Name when asked with this name He gives and when supplicated by this name he answers

I asked him What is that O Abu Hafs He replied He the Prophet had said before you came If any one of you performs ablution and does it well and when he finishes the ablution he utters the words I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah He has no associate and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger all the eight doors of Paradise will be opened for him he may enter through any of them

It wasnarrated that Abu Salamah Bin Abdulrahman said I asked Aisha With what did the Prophet start his voluntaryprayers She said He would say Allahumma Rabba JibrailwaMikail wa Israfil Fatiras samawati Alard alimal ghaybiwash shahadah Anta tahkumu baina ibadika fima kanu fihiyakhtalifun ihdini lima khtulifa fihi minal haqqi bi idhnika innaka latahdi ilasiratin mustaqim O Allah Lord of Jibrail Mikail and Israfil Creator of the heavens and the earth Knowerof the unseen and theseen You judge between Your slaves concerningthat wherein theydiffer

And when he says Ihdi AlSiratal mustaqeema siratal alldhina anamta alayhim a lad dallin Guide us to the Straight Way the way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace not the way of those who earned Your Anger nor of those who went astray He says THis is for My slave and My slave shall have what he has asked for

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umarthat a man once asked the Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him andgrant him peace what clothes someone in ihram could wear and theMessenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace said Donot wear shirts turbans trousers burnouses or leather socks except if you cannot find sandals

Yahya said thatMalik was asked about the hadith attributed to the Prophet may Allahbless him and grant him peace Whoever cannot find a waist wrappershould wear trousers and he said I have never heard this and I donot think that some one who is in ihram can wear trousers becauseamong the things which the Prophet may Allah bless him and grant himpeace forbade some one in ihram to wear were trousers and he did notmake any exception for them although he did make an exception forleather socks

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that Muhammadibn Yahya ibn Habban said Two men from the Ashja tribe told me thatMuhammad ibn Maslama al Ansari used tocome to them to collect theirzakat and he would say to anyone who owned livestock Select theanimal for the zakat on your livestock and bring it to me and hewould accept any sheep that was brought to him provided it met therequirements of what the man owed

Yahya related to me from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar thatthe Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace said Zakat is not permissible for someone who is not in need except forfive someone fighting in the way of Allah someone who collectszakat someone who has suffered financial loss at the hands ofdebtors someone who buys it with his own money and some one who hasa poor neighbour who receives some zakat and gives some as a presentto the one who is not in need
  47. Yahya related to me from Malik that Zayd ibn Aslam said Umaribn al Khattab drank some milk which he liked very much and he askedthe man who had given it to him Where did this milk come from Theman told him that he had come to a watering place which he named andhad found grazing livestock from the zakat watering there
