Ali added: The Prophet ﷺ came to us when we had gone to our beds. When I was going to get up; he said; Stay in your places; and sat between us; till I felt the coolness of the feet on my chest. The Prophet ﷺ then said; Shall I not tell you of a thing which is better for you than a servant? When you both go to your beds; say Allahu Akbar thirty-four times; and Subhan Allah thirty-three times; Alhamdu illah thirty-three times; for that is better for you than a servant. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3612Narrated Anas: While the Prophet ﷺ was in the house of one of his wives; one of the mothers of the believers sent a meal in a dish. The wife at whose house the Prophet ﷺ was; struck the hand of the servant; causing the dish to fall and break. The Prophet ﷺ gathered the broken pieces of the dish and then started collecting on them the food which had been in the dish and said; Your mother my wife felt jealous. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4972Narrated Abu Bakr: While I was on my way; all of a sudden I saw a shepherd driving his sheep; I asked him whose servant he was. He replied that he was the servant of a man from Quraish; and then he mentioned his name and I recognized him. I asked; Do your sheep have some milk? He replied in the affirmative. I said; Are you going to milk for me? He replied in the affirmative. I ordered him and he tied the legs of one of the sheep. Then I told him to clean the udder teats of dust and to remove dust off his hands. He removed the dust off his hands by clapping his hands. He then milked a little milk. I put the milk for Allah Messenger ﷺ in a pot and closed its mouth with a piece of cloth and poured water over it till it became cold. I took it to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Drink; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5128Narrated Anas: While the Prophet ﷺ was with one of his wives; one of the mothers of the believers i.e. one of his wives sent a wooden bowl containing food with a servant. The wife in whose house he was sitting stroke the bowl with her hand and broke it. The Prophet ﷺ collected the shattered pieces and put the food back in it and said; Eat. I used to enter into transactions with people. It was my nature to be lenient to my debtors. I showed leniency to the solvent and gave respite to the insolvent; whereupon Allah said: I have more right than you to do this to connive at My servant. Messenger of Allah He; the Holy Prophet said: Do you know what right has Allah upon His servants? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He the Holy Prophet said: Verily the right of Allah over His servants is that they should worship Him; not associating anything with Him. He the Holy Prophet with Muadh behind him; moved along for a few minutes and said: Muadh Bin Jabal: To which I replied: At your beck and call; and at your pleasure; Messenger of Allah! He the Holy Prophet said: Do you know what rights have servants upon Allah in case they do it i. e. they worship Allah without associating anything with Him ? I Muadh Bin Jabal replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. SahihMuslim-017-001-18867Hammam Bin Munabbih reported that Abu Huraira narrated to them some ahadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ and one of them is this that Allah Messenger ﷺ said: The Paradise and the Hell fell into dispute and the Hell said: 1 have been distinguished for accommodating the haughty and proud in me ; and the Paradise said: What is the matter that the meek and the humble and the downtrodden and simple would find an abode in me? SahihMuslim-017-001-18893This hadith has been narrated through other chains of transmitters on the authority of Ibn Abbas; and the words are: While Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up to deliver a sermon; he said: 0 people; Allah would make you assemble barefooted; naked and uncircumcised and then recited the words of the Quran : As We created you for the first time; We shall repeat it. It is a promise binding upon us. Lo! And it would be said to him: They constantly turned to their heels since you left them. SahihMuslim-017-001-18982Abu Huraira reported: While a person was in the wilderness he heard a voice from the cloud commanding it thus : Irrigate the garden of so and so. After that the clouds slinked Aasi de and poured water on a stony ground. It filled a channel amongst the channels of that land and that person followed that water and he found a person standing in the garden busy in changing the course of water with the help of a hatchet. He said to him: Servant of Allah; what is your name? he said: So and so. And it was that very name which he had heard from the clouds. and he said to him: Servant of Allah; why do you ask me my name? He said: I heard a voice from the clouds of which is the downpour; saying: Water the garden of so and so; like your name. What do you do for the favour shown to you by Allah in this matter? He said: Now as you state so. SahihMuslim-017-001-19323Harith Bin Suwaid said: I went to see Abdullah to inquire about his health as he was sick and he narrated to us a hadith of Allahs Messenger ﷺ. And when he gets up; lot there is before him his riding beast and his provisions of food and drink. SahihMuslim-017-001-19326Numan Bin Bashir reported: Allah is more pleased with the repentance of a believing servant than of a person who set out on a journey with a provision of food and drink on the back of his camel. He went on until he came to a waterless desert and he felt like sleeping. So he got down under the shade of a tree and was overcome by sleep and his camel ran away. As he got up he tried to see the camel standing upon a mound. but did not find it. He then got upon the other mound; but could not see anything. He then climbed upon the third mound but did not see anything until he came back to the place where he had been previously. And as he was sitting in utter disappointment there came to him the camel; till that camel placed its nosestring in his hand. Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than the person who found his lost camel in this very state. Simak reported that Shabi was of the opinion that Numin traced it to Allah Apostle ﷺ. SahihMuslim-017-001-19328Anas Bin Malik reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Allah is more pleased with the repentance of a servant as he turns towards Him for repentance than this that one amongst you is upon the camel in a waterless desert and there is upon that camel his provision of food and drink also and it is lost by him; and he having lost all hope to get tbat lies down in the shadow and is disappointed about his camel and there he finds that camel standing before him. He takes hold of his nosestring and then out of boundless joy says: 0 Lord; Thou art my servant and I am Thine Lord. A servant committed a sin and he said: O Allah; forgive me my sins; and Allah the Exalted and Glorious said: My servant commited a sin and then he came to realise that he has a Lord Who forgives the sins and takes to account the sinner for the sin. He then again committed a sin and said: My Lord; forgive me my sin; and Allah; the Exalted and High; said: My servant committed a sin and then came to realise that he has a Lord Who would forgive his sin or would take him to account for the sin. He again committed a sin and said: My Lord; forgive me for my sin; and Allah the Exalted and High said: My servant sas committed a sin and then came to realise that he has a Lord Who forgives the sins or takes him to account for sin. O servant; do what you like. I have granted you forgiveness. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9610Abu Huraira narrated : The Prophet ﷺ went out during an hour in which he would normally not go out; nor meet with anyone. Then Abu Bakr came to him. So he said:What brought you O Abu Bakr? He said: I came to meet the Messenger of Allah s.a.w and to look at his face; and to make sure he was safe. It was not long before Umar came. He said: What has brought you O Umar ? He said: Hunger O Messenger of Allah!He said: I also experienced some of that So they went to the home of Abu AlHaitham AlTaiyihan AlAnsari. He was a man with many date-palms and sheep; but he had no servants so they did not find him there. They said to his wife: Where is your companion? She said: He has gone to fetch us some good water. It was not long before Abu AlHaitham came along hauling to a large water-skin which he put down. Then he came to hug the Prophet ﷺ and uttered that his father and mother should be ransomed for him. Then he went to grove of his and he spread out a mat for them. Then he went to a date-palm and returned with a cluster of dates which he put down. The prophet s.a.w said: Why dont you select some ripe dates for us? He said: O Messenger of Allah s.a.w ! I wanted you to select from the ripe dates and the unripe dates. So they ate and they drank from that water. The Messenger of Allah s.a.w said: By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! This is among the favors which you shall be asked about on the Day Of Judgment. Cool shade; tasty ripe dates; and cool water. Abu AlHaitham left to prepare some food for them. The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not slaughter one with milk. So he Slaughtered a small female or male goat and brought it to them so they could eat it. The Prophet ﷺ said: Do you have any servants? He said: No. So he said: Then if we get some captives we shall bring them for you. So later the Prophet ﷺ came with 2 males; there was no third among them and he brought them to Abu AlHaitham. The Prophet ﷺ said: Choose from them. He said: O Prophet of Allah! Choose for me. So the Prophet ﷺ said: Indeed the one consulted is entrusted. Take this one for I have seen him praying; and encourage him to do well. So Abu AlHaitham went to his wife and informed her of what the Messenger of Allah s.a.w said. So his wife said: You will not fulfill what the Prophet ﷺ said until you have freed him. So he said: He is free. So the Prophet ﷺ said: Indeed Allah has not send a Prophet nor made a Khalifah except that he has two groups of supporters; group ordering him to do good; and prohibiting him from evil and a group that never ceases spoiling his affairs. SunanAlNasai-017-001-12431It was narrated that Abu Huraira; Zaid Bin Khalid and Shibl said: We were with the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL when a man stood up and said: I adjure you; by Allah; pass judgment between us according to the Book of Allah. His opponent; who was wiser than him; stood up and said: He is right; pass judgment between us according to the Book of Allah. He said: Speak. He said: My son was a laborer serving this man; and he committed Zina with his wife. I ransomed him with one hundred sheep and a servant. It is as if he was told that his son was to be stoned to death but he ransomed him from that. Then I asked some knowledgeable men and they told me that my son was to be given one hundred lashes and exiled for a year. The Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL said to him: By the One in Whose hand is my soul; I will pass judgment between you according to the Book of Allah; the Mighty and Sublime. As for the one hundred sheep and the servant; take them back; and your son is to be given one hundred lashes and exiled for a year. O Unais; go tomorrow to the wife of this man and if she confesses; then stone her to death. She came to him and found some people talking to him. She felt shy and returned. Next morning he visited us when we were in our quilt. He sat beside her head; and she took her head into the quilt out of shame from her father. He asked: What need had you with me; O family of Muhammad? She kept silence twice. I then said : I swear by Allah; I shall tell you. She pulls the mile-stone which has affected her hand; she carrys water with the water-bag which has affected the upper portion of her chest; she sweeps the house by which her clothes have become dusty; and she cooks food by which her clothes have become black. We were told that some slaves or servants had come to you. So I said to her; ask him for a servant. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us; and taught us and explained to us our way of doing and taught us our prayer. He said: When you pray a congregational prayer; straighten your rows; then one of you should lead you in prayer. When he says the takbir Allah is Most Great ; say the takbir; and when he recites verses Not of those upon whom is Thy anger; nor of those who err i.e. the end of Surah i. ; say Amin; Allah will favour you. When he says Allah is most great; and bows; say Allah is most great and bow; for the imam will bow before you; and will raise his head before you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is for that. When he says Allah listens to the one who praises Him; say: O Allah; our Lord; to Thee be praise; Allah be praised; Allah will listen to you; for Allah; the Exalted; said by the tongue of His Prophet ﷺ : Allah listens to the one who praises Him. When he says Allah is most great and prostrates; say: Allah is most great and prostrate; for the imam prostrates before you and raises his head before you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This is for that. When he sits; each one of you should say The adorations of the tongue; all good things; and acts of worship are due to Allah. Peace be upon you; O Prophet; and Allah mercy and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allah upright servants. She struck with her hand and broke the bowl. Ibn AlMuthanna version has: The Prophet ﷺ took the pieces of the bowl; and joined one with the other; and began to collect the food in it; saying: Your mother is jealous. Ibn AlMuthanna added: Eat. They ate till a bowl of the one in whose house he was brought.Abu Dawud said: We then returned to the version of the tradition of Mousaddad: He said: Eat. He detained the servant and the bowl till they were free. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28966Narrated Yahya Bin Said: Abd AlHamid Bin Abdullah Bin Abdullah Bin Umar Bin AlKhattab copied to me a document about the religious endowment waqf made by Umar Bin AlKhattab : In the name of Allah; the Compassionate; the Merciful. This is what Allah servant Umar has written about Thamgh. He narrated the tradition like the one transmitted by Nafi. He added: provided he is not storing up goods for himself. The surplus fruit will be devoted to the beggar and the deprived. He then went on with the tradition; saying: If the man in charge of Thamgh wishes to buy a slave for his work for its fruits by selling them ; he may do so. Muiqib penned it and Abdullah Bin AlArqam witnessed it : In the name of Allah; the Compassionate; the Merciful. This is what Allah servant Umar ; Commander of Faithful; directed; in case of some incident happens to him i.e. he dies ; that Thamg; Sirmah Bin AlAkwa; the servant who is there; the hundred shares in the land of Khaibr; the servant who is there and the hundred sahres which Muhammad ﷺ had donated to me in the valley nearly will remain in the custody of Hafsah during her life; then the men of opinion from her family will be in charge of these endowments ; that these will neither be sold not purchased; spending its produce where they think necessary on the beggar; deprived and relatives.
