SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1993Narrated Aisha: Allah Messenger ﷺ used to like sweets and also used to like honey; and whenever he finished the Asr prayer; he used to visit his wives and stay with them. Once he visited Hafsa and remained with her longer than the period he used to stay; so I enquired about it. It was said to me; A woman from her tribe gave her a leather skin containing honey as a present; and she gave some of it to Allah Messenger ﷺ to drink. I said; By Allah; we will play a trick on him. So I mentioned the story to Sauda the wife of the Prophet and said to her; When he enters upon you; he will come near to you whereupon you should say to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Have you eaten Maghafir? He will say; No. Then you say to him; What is this bad smell? And it would be very hard on Allah Messenger ﷺ that a bad smell should be found on his body. He will say; Hafsa has given me a drink of honey. Then you should say to him; Its bees must have sucked from the AlUrfut a foul smelling flower. I too; will tell him the same. And you; O Saifya; say the same. So when the Prophet ﷺ entered upon Sauda the following happened. Sauda said; By Him except Whom none has the right to be worshipped; I was about to say to him what you had told me to say while he was still at the gate because of fear from you. But when Allah Apostle came near to me; I said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Have you eaten Maghafir? He replied; No. I said; What about this smell? He said; Hafsa has given me a drink of honey. I said; Its bees must have sucked AlUrfut. When he entered upon me; I told him the same as that; and when he entered upon Safiya; she too told him the same. So when he visited Hafsa again; she said to him; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall I give you a drink of it honey ? He said; I have no desire for it. Sauda said; Subhan Allah! We have deprived him of it honey. I said to her; Be quiet! The Chapter on Drinks And Sharayah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The trick by a woman with her husband in Sahih AlBukhari

When he entered upon one of us; she said that to him. He replied to her ; No; but I have drunk honey in the house of Zainab bint Jahsh; and I will never drink it again. Then the following verse was revealed: O Prophet ! Why do you ban for you that which Allah has made lawful for you?... up to If you two wives of the Prophet ﷺ turn in repentance to Allah. 66.1-4 The two were Aisha and Hafsa And also the Statement of Allah: And Remember when the Prophet ﷺ disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his wives! 66.3 i.e.; his saying; But I have drunk honey. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2153Narrated Abu Huraira: By Allah except Whom none has the right to- be worshipped; sometimes I used to lay sleep on the ground on my liver abdomen because of hunger; and sometimes I used to bind a stone over my belly because of hunger. One day I sat by the way from where they the Prophet ﷺ and h is companions used to come out. When Abu Bakr passed by; I asked him about a Verse from Allah Book and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger; but he passed by and did not do so. Then Umar passed by me and I asked him about a Verse from Allah Book; and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger; but he passed by without doing so. Finally Abu AlQasim the Prophet ﷺ passed by me and he smiled when he saw me; for he knew what was in my heart and on my face. He said; O Aba Hirr Abu Huraira ! I replied; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said to me; Follow me. He left and I followed him. Then he entered the house and I asked permission to enter and was admitted. He found milk in a bowl and said; From where is this milk? They said; It has been presented to you by such-and-such man or by such and such woman. He said; O Aba Hirr! I said; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Go and call the people of Suffa to me. These people of Suffa were the guests of Islam who had no families; nor money; nor anybody to depend upon; and whenever an object of charity was brought to the Prophet ﷺ ; he would send it to them and would not take anything from it; and whenever any present was given to him; he used to send some for them and take some of it for himself. The order off the Prophet upset me; and I said to myself; How will this little milk be enough for the people of AlSuffa? thought I was more entitled to drink from that milk in order to strengthen myself; but behold! The Prophet ﷺ came to order me to give that milk to them. I wondered what will remain of that milk for me; but anyway; I could not but obey Allah and His Apostle so I went to the people of AlSuffa and called them; and they came and asked the Prophet permission to enter. They were admitted and took their seats in the house. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Aba Hirr! I said; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Take it and give it to them. So I took the bowl of Milk and started giving it to one man who would drink his fill and return it to me; whereupon I would give it to another man who; in his turn; would drink his fill and return it to me; and I would then offer it to another man who would drink his fill and return it to me. Finally; after the whole group had drunk their fill; I reached the Prophet ﷺ who took the bowl and put it on his hand; looked at me and smiled and said. O Aba Hirr! I replied; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; There remain you and I. I said; You have said the truth; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Sit down and drink. I sat down and drank. He said; Drink; and I drank. He kept on telling me repeatedly to drink; till I said; No. by Allah Who sent you with the Truth; I have no space for it in my stomach. He said; Hand it over to me. When prayer was over; I entered the apartment of the Holy Prophet and asked his verdict about the matter in which they had differed. It was upon this that Allah; the Almighty and Exalted; revealed the Quranic verse: Do you make the giving of drinking water to the pilgrims and the maintenance of the Sacred Masjid equal to the service of those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and strive hard in the cause of Allah. I; however; inquired from the Messenger of Allah it we discard those utensils which you have forbidden us to use ; then what type of vessels should be used for drink? He the Holy Prophet replied: In the waterskin the mouths of which are tied with a string. They again said: Prophet of Allah; our land abounds in rats and water-skins cannot remain preserved. SahihMuslim-017-001-18752Ibn Masud reported: Verily the Messenger of Allah said: The last to enter Paradise would be a man who would walk once and stumble once and be burnt by the Fire once. Then when he gets beyond it; he will turn to it and say: Blessed is He Who has saved me from thee. Allah has given me something He has not given to any one of those in earlier or later times. Then a tree would be raised up for him and he will say: O my Lord I bring me near this tree so that I may take shelter in its shade and drink of its water. Allah; the Exalted and Great; would say: O son of Adam; if I grant you this; you will ask Me for something else. He would say: No. my Lord. And he would promise Him that he would not ask for anything else. His Lord would excuse him because He sees what he cannot help desiring; so He would bring him near it; and he would take shelter in its shade and drink of its water. Afterwards a tree more beautiful than the first would be raised up before him and he would say: O my Lord! bring me near this tree in order that I may drink of its water and take shelter in its shade and I shall not ask Thee for anything else. He Allah would say: O son of Adam; if I bring you near it you may ask me for something else. He would promise Him that he would not ask for anything else. His Lord will excuse him because He would see something he cannot help desiring. So He would bring him near it and he would enjoy its shade and drink its water. Then a tree would be raised up for him at the gate of the Paradise; more beautiful than the first two. He would say: O my Lord! bring me near this tree so that I may enjoy its shade and drink from its water. I shall not ask Thee for anything else. He Allah would say: O son of Adam! did you not promise Me that you would not ask Me anything else? He would say: Yes; my Lord; but I shall not ask Thee for anything else. His Lord would excuse him for He sees something the temptation of which he could not resist. He Allah would bring him near to it; and when He would bring him near it he would hear the voices of the inhabitants of the Paradise. He would say: O my Lord! admit me to it. He Allah would say: O son of Adam; what will bring an end to your requests to Me? Will it please you if I give you the whole world and a like one along with it? He will say: O my Lord! art Thou mocking at me; though Thou art the Lord of the worlds? Ibn Masud laughed and asked the hearers : Why dont you ask me what I am laughing at. They then said: Why do you laugh? He said: It is in this way that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed. They the companions of the Holy Prophet asked: Why do you laugh. Messenger of Allah? SahihMuslim-017-001-19220Abu Saeed AlKhudri reported: We came back after having performed Pilgrimage or Umra and lbn Saeed was along with us. And we encamped at a place and the people dispersed and I and he were left behind. I felt terribly frightend from him as it was said about him that he was the Dajjal. He brought his goods and placed them by my luggage and I said: It is intense heat. Would you not place that under that tree? And he did that. Then there appeared before us a flock of sheep. He went and brought a cup of milk and said: Abu Said; drink that. I said it is intense heat and the milk is also hot whereas the fact was that I did not like to drink from his hands or to take it from his hand and he said: Abu Said; I think that I should take a rope and suspend it by the tree and then commit suicide because of the talks of the people; and he further said. Abu Saeed he who is ignorant of the saying of Allah Messenger ﷺ he is to be pardoned ; but O people of Ansar; is this hadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ concealed from you whereas you have the best knowledge of the hadith of Allah Messenger ﷺ amongst people? Did Allah Messenger ﷺ not say that he Dajjal would be a non believer whereas I am a believer? Did Allah Messenger ﷺ not say he would be barren and no child would be born to him; whereas I have left my children in Medina? Did Allah Messenger may peace upon him not say: He would not get into Medina and Mecca whereas I have been coming from Medina and now I intend to go to Mecca? Abu Saeed said: I was about to accept the excuse put forward by him. Then he said: I know the place where he would be born and where he is now. So I said to him: May your whole day be spent. The Chapter on Thirst in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 19 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-19240AlNawas Bin Saman reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ made a mention of the Dajjal one day in the morning. He ﷺ sometimes described him to be insignificant and sometimes described his turmoil as very significant and we felt as if he were in the cluster of the date-palm trees. When we went to him to the Holy Prophet in the evening and he read the signs of fear in our faces; he ﷺ said: What is the matter with you? We said: Allah Messenger; you made a mention of the Dajjal in the morning sometimes describing him to be insignificant and sometimes very important; until we began to think as if he were present in some near part of the cluster of the date-palm trees. Thereupon he ﷺ said: I harbor fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among you; I shall contend with him on your behalf; but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you; a man must contend on his own behalf and Allah would take care of every Muslim on my behalf and safeguard him against his evil. He Dajjal would be a young man with twisted; contracted hair; and a blind eye. I compare him to Abd AlUzza Bin Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Surat Kahf xviii. He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere to the path of Truth. We said: Allah Messenger; how long would he stay on the earth? He ﷺ said: For forty days; one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days. We said: Allah Messenger; would one day prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year? Thereupon he ﷺ said: No; but you must make an estimate of time and then observe prayer. We said: Allah Messenger; how quickly would he walk upon the earth? Thereupon he ﷺ said: Like cloud driven by the wind. He would come to the people and invite them to a wrong religion and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then in the evening; their pasturing animals would come to them with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth. He would then walk through the waste land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures; and the treasures would come out and collect themselves before him like the swarm of bees. He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces and make these pieces lie at a distance which is generally between the archer and his target. He would then call that young man and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming with happiness and it would be at this very time that Allah would send Christ; son of Mary; and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels. When he would lower his head; there would fall beads of perspiration from his head; and when he would raise it up; beads like pearls would scatter from it. Every non-believer who would smell the odor of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he would be able to see. He would then search for him Dajjal until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected would come to Jesus; son of Mary; and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words: I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur. And then Allah would send Gog and Magog and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tiberias and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass; he would say: There was once water there. Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here at Tur; and they would be so much hard pressed that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one hundred dinars and Allah Apostle; Jesus; and his companions would supplicate Allah; Who would send to them insects which would attack their necks and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah Apostle; Jesus; and his companions would then come down to the earth and they would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah Apostle; Jesus; and his companions would then again beseech Allah; Who would send birds whose necks would be like those of Bactrian camels and they would carry them and throw them where God would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or the tent of camels hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror. Then the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and; as a result thereof; there would grow such a big pomegranate that a group of persons would be able to eat that; and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it. And the milch camel would give such a large quantity of milk that the whole tribe would be able to drink out of that and the milch sheep would give so much milk that the whole family would be able to drink out of that and at that time Allah would send a pleasant wind which would soothe people even under their armpits; and would take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked would survive who would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them. The Chapter on Rain And Clouds Earth And Aldajjal in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 20 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-19323Harith Bin Suwaid said: I went to see Abdullah to inquire about his health as he was sick and he narrated to us a hadith of Allahs Messenger ﷺ. He heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His believing servant than a person who loses his riding beast carrying food and drink. He sleeps being disappointed of its recovery and then gets up and goes in search for that; until he is stricken with thirst. then comes back to the place where he had been before and goes to sleep completely exhausted placing his head upon his hands waiting for death. He would say: O my Lord; how could I visit Thee whereas Thou art the Lord of the worlds? Thereupon He would say: Didnt you know that such and such servant of Mine was sick but you did not visit him and were you not aware of this that if you had visited him; you would have found Me by him? O son of Adam; I asked food from you but you did not feed Me. He would say: My Lord; how could I feed Thee whereas Thou art the Lord of the worlds? He said: Didnt you know that such and such servant of Mine asked food from you but you did not feed him; and were you not aware that if you had fed him you would have found him by My side? The Lord would again say: O son of Adam; I asked drink from you but you did not provide Me. He would say: My Lord; how could I provide Thee whereas Thou art the Lord of the worlds? SahihMuslim-017-001-19964Abu Mousa reported Allah Apostle ﷺ as saying: The similitude of that guidance and knowledge with which Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; has sent me is that of rain falling upon the earth. There is a good piece of land which receives the rainfall eagerly and as a result of it there is grown in it herbage and grass abundantly. Then there is a land hard and barren which retains water and the people derive benefit from it and they drink it and make the animals drink. Then there is another land which is barren. Neither water is retained in it; nor is the grass grown in it. And that is the similitude of the first one who develops the understanding of the religion of Allah and it becomes a source of benefit to him with which Allah sent me. The second one is that who acquires the knowledge of religion and imparts it to others. Then the other type is one who does not pay attention to the revealed knowledge and thus does not accept guidance of Allah with which I have been sent. The Chapter on Farming And Irrigation And Earth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 5 in Sahih Muslim

Then there would be intervention between me and them. Abu Hazim said that Numan Bin Abu Ayash heard it and I narrated to them this hadith; and said: Is it this that you heard Sahl saying? He said: Yes; and I bear witness to the fact that I heard it from Abu Saeed Khudri also; but he made this addition that he the Holy Prophet would say: They are my followers; and it would be said to him: You do not know what they did after you and I will say to them: Woe to him who changes his religion after me.The Chapter on Thirst in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 9 in Sahih Muslim

He who drinks out of it the Cistern would never feel thirsty. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10150Narrated Abu Wail: from a man of Rabiah who said: I arrived in AlMadinah; entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned the emissary of Ad to him. I said: I seek refuge in Allah from being like the emissary of Ad. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: And what of the emissary of Ad? He said: I said: You have got the one who is informed about it. When Ad suffered from famine they sent Qail and he stayed with Bakr Bin Muawiyah. He gave him wine to drink and two slave girls to sing for him. Then he went out towards the mountains of Murrah and said: O Allah! I did not come to You to cure a sick person; nor to ransom a captive! So give water to Your slave as You used to do; and give water to Bakr Bin Muawiyah along with him. He said that out of gratitude for the wine which he gave him to drink. So two clouds appeared and it was said to him: Choose one of them. So he chose the black one. It was said to him: Take it as ashes that will leave none in Ad. So he mentioned that the wind sent upon them was not more than this circle - meaning the circle of a ring - then he recited:...We sent against them the barren wind; it spared nothing that it reached; but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 51:41 & 42The Chapter on Almaghazi And Ransoms in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Chapters on Tafsir in Sunan AlTermithi

SunanAlNasai-017-001-12392It was narrated that Jabir said: The Messenger of Allah sent us with Abu Ubaidah and we numbered over three hundred men. He supplied us with a sack of dates and gave them out by the handful. When he ran short; he gave us one date at a time; until we used to suck on it like an infant; and we would drink water with it. When we ran out of them it became very difficult for us. We used to hit the Khabat leaves with our bows to knock them down and swallow them; then drink water with it. We became known as Jaish AlKhabat the Khabat army. Then; when we were about to turn inland; we saw a beast like a hill; caloled AlAnbar. Abu Ubaidah said: It is dead meat; do not eat it. Then he said: The army of the Messenger of Allah in the cause of Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; and we are forced by necessity; eat in the name of Allah. So we arte from it and we made some if it into jerked meat. Thirteen men could sit in its eye-socket. Abu Ubaidah took one of its ribs and seated a man on the biggest camel that the people had; and they passed beneath it. When we came to the Messenger of Allah; he said: What kept you so long? SunanAlNasai-017-001-12420It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: There were kings after Isa Bin Mariam who altered the Tawrah and the Injil; but there were among them believers who read the Tawrah. It was said to their kings: We have never heard of any slander worse than that of those believers who slander us and recite: And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed; such are the disbelievers. In these Verses; they are criticizing us for our deeds when they recite them. So he called them together and gave them the choice between being put to death; or giving up reading the Tawrah and Injil; except for what had been altered. They said: Why do you want us to change? Leave us alone. Some of them said: Build us a tower and let us go up there; and give us something to lift up our food and drink so we do not have to mix with you. Others said: Let us go and wander throughout the land; and we will drink as the wild animals drink; and if you capture us in your land; you may kill us. Others said: Build houses for us in the wilderness; and we will dig wells and grow vegetables; and we will not mix with you or pass by you; for there is no one of the tribes among whom we do not have close relatives. So they did that; and Allah revealed the words: But the monasticism which they invented for themselves; We did not prescribe for them; but they sought it only to please Allah therewith; but that they did not observe it with the right observance. Then others said: We will worship as so-and-so worshipped; and we will wander as so-and-so wandered; and we will adopt houses in the wilderness as so-and-so did. But they were still following their Shirk with no knowledge of the faith of those whom they claimed to be following. When Allah sent the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL; and they were only a few of them left; a man came down from his cell; and a wanderer came from his travels; and a monk came from his monastery; and they believed in him. And Allah said: O you who believe! Fear Allah; and believe in His Messenger Muhammad ; He will give you a double portion of His mercy - meaning; two rewards; because of their having believed in Isa and in the Tawrah and Injil; and for having believing in Muhammad SAWSYMOBOL; and He will give you a light by which you shall walk straight ; - meaning; the Quran; and their following the Prophet SAWSYMOBOL; and He said: So that the people of the Scripture Jews and Christians may know that they have no power whatsoever over the Grace of Allah. The Chapter on Allah Characteristics Ask in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Meaning of the Verse And Whosoever Does Not Judge By What Allah Has Revealed Such Are The Disbelievers in Sunan AlNasai

He then said: Allah has forbidden me; or he said: He has forbidden me wine; game of chance and kubah drums. He said: Every intoxicant is unlawful. Sufyan said: I asked All Bin Badhimah about kubah. He replied: Drum. The Chapter on Fasting And Drinks in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding vessels in Sunan Abu Dawoud

He said: To Allah and His Apostle. We said: Messenger of Allah; we have grapes; what should we do with them? He said: Make them raisins. We then asked: What should we do with raisins? MuwataMalik-017-001-34693Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from Abdulrahman Ibn AlQasim that Aslam; the mawla of Umar Ibn AlKhattab informed him that he had visited Abdullah Ibn Ayash AlMakhzumi. He saw that he had some nabidh with him and he was at that moment on the way to Makka. Aslam said to him; Umar Ibn AlKhattab loves this drink. Abdullah Ibn Ayash therefore carried a great drinking bowl and brought it to Umar Ibn AlKhattab and placed it before him. Umar brought it near to him and then raised his head. Umar said; This drink is good; so he drank some of it and then passed it to a man on his right. When Abdullah turned to go; Umar Ibn AlKhattab called him and asked; Are you the person who says that Makka is better than Madina? Abdullah said; I said that it was the Haram of Allah; and His place of security; and His House was in it. Umar said; I am not saying anything about the House of Allah or His Haram. Then Umar repeated Are you the person who says that Makka is better than Madina? He replied; I said that it was the Haram of Allah and His place of security; and His House was in it. Umar said; I am not saying anything about the House of Allah and His Haram. Then Abdullah left. The Chapter on Fragrances And The Companions in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik

The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered a sheep to be brought for him and it was milked. He drank its milk. Then another came; and he drank it. Then another came and he drank it until he had drunk the milk of seven sheep. In the morning he became muslim; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered a sheep for him. It was milked and he drank its milk. Then he ordered another for him and he could not finish it. MuwataMalik-017-001-34733Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa that his father never brought food or drink; nor even a remedy which he ate or drank but that he said; Praise be to Allah who has guided us and fed us and given us to drink and blessed us. Allah is greater. O Allah! We have found Your blessing with every evil; give us every good in the morning and evening. We ask You for its completion and its gratitude. There is no good except Your good. There is no god other than You; the God of the salihun and the Lord of the Worlds. Praise be to Allah. There is no god but Allah. What Allah wills. There is no power except in Allah. O Allah! Bless us in what You have provided us with and protect us from the punishment of the Fire! Alhamdu lillahi-lladhi hadana wa at amana wa saqana wa naamana. MuwataMalik-017-001-34749Yahya related to me from Malik from Thawr Ibn Zayd AlDili that Umar Ibn AlKhattab asked advice about a man drinking wine. Ali Ibn Abi Talib said to him; We think that you flog him for it with eighty lashes. Because when he drinks; he becomes intoxicated; and when he becomes intoxicated; he talks confusedly; and when he talks confusedly; he lies. 80 lashes is the same amount as for slandering Umar gave eighty lashes for drinking wine. The Chapter on Food And Drinks in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34765Yahya related to me from Malik from Daud Ibn AlHusayn that Waqid Ibn Amr Ibn Sad Ibn Muadh informed him from Mahmud Ibn Labid AlAnsari that when Umar Ibn AlKhattab went to AlSham; the people of AlSham complained to him about the bad air of their land and its heaviness. They said; Only this drink helps. Umar said; Drink this honey preparation. They said; Honey does not help us. A man from the people of that land said; Can we give you something of this drink which does not intoxicate? He said; Yes. They cooked it until two- thirds of it evaporated and one-third of it remained. Then they brought it to Umar. Umar put his finger in it and then lifted his head and extended it. He said; This is fruit juice concentrated by boiling. This is like the distillation with which you smear the camel scabs. Umar ordered them to drink it. Ubada Ibn AlSamit said to him; You have made it halal; by Allah! Umar said; No; by Allah! O Allah! I will not make anything halal for them which You have made haram for them! MuwataMalik-017-001-34766Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah Ibn Umar that some men from Iraq said to him; Abu Abdulrahman we buy the fruit of the palm and grapes and we squeeze them into wine and we sell it. Abdullah Ibn Umar said; I call on Allah and His angels and whoever hears of jinn and men to testify to you that I order you not to buy it nor sell it nor to press it nor to drink it nor to give it to people to drink. It is something impure from the work of Shaytan. The Chapter on Forbidden And Dinks in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35410Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Ibn Aslam from Abu Salih AlSamman from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Horses are a reward for one man; a protection for another; a burden for another. The one who has them as a reward is the one who dedicates them for use in the way of Allah; and tethers them in a meadow or grassland. Whatever the horse enjoys of the grassland or meadow in the length of its tether are good deeds for him. If it breaks its tether and goes over a hillock or two; its tracks and droppings are good deeds for him. If it crosses a river and drinks from it while he did not mean to allow it to drink it; that counts as good deeds for him; and the horse is a reward for him. Another man uses his horse to gain self reliance and up- standingness and does not forget Allah right on their necks and backs i.e. he does not ill treat or over-work them. Horses are a protection for him. Another man uses them out of pride to show them off and in hostility to the people of Islam. They are a burden on that man. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was asked about donkeys; and he said; Nothing has been revealed to me about them except this single Allinclusive ayat; Whoever does an atom of good will see it; and whoever does an atom of evil; will see it. MuwataMalik-017-001-35535Yahya said that he heard Malik say; Someone who eats or drinks out of neglect or forgetfulness during a voluntary fast does not have to repeat his fast; but he should continue fasting for the rest of the day in which he eats or drinks while voluntarily fasting; and not stop fasting. Someone to whom something unexpected happens which causes him to break his fast while he is fasting voluntarily does not have to repeat his fast if he has broken it for a reason; and not simply because he decided to break his fast. Just as I do not think that someone has to repeat a voluntary prayer if he has had to stop it because of some discharge which he could prevent and which meant that he had to repeat his Ablution. Malik said; Once a man has begun doing any of the right actions Alamal AlSaliha such as the prayer; the fast and the hajj; or similar right actions of a voluntary nature; he should not stop until he has completed it according to what the sunna for that action is. If he says the takbir he should not stop until he has prayed two rakas. If he is fasting he should not break his fast until he has completed that day fast. If he goes into ihram he should not return until he has completed his hajj; and if he begins doing tawaf he should not stop doing so until he has gone around the Kaba seven times. He should not stop doing any of these actions once he has started them until he has completed them; except if something happens such as illness or some other matter by which a man is excused. This is because Allah; the Blessed and Exalted; says in His Book; And eat and drink until the white thread becomes clear to you from the black thread of dawn; and then complete the fast until night-time; Surat 2 ayat 187 ; and so he must complete his fast as Allah has said. Allah; the Exalted; also says; And complete the hajj and the umra for Allah; and so if a man were to go into ihram for a voluntary hajj having done his one obligatory hajj on a previous occasion ; he could not then stop doing his hajj having once begun it and leave ihram while in the middle of his hajj. Anyone that begins a voluntary act must complete it once he has begun doing it; just as an obligatory act must be completed. This is the best of what I have heard. The Chapter on Mischief Fasting Alhajj Bowing And Prostration in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Divorce in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-36088Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abi Talha from Humayda bint Abi Ubayda Ibn Farwa that her maternal aunt Kabsha bint Kaab Ibn Malik; who was the wife of the son of Abu Qatada AlAnsari; told her that once Abu Qatada was visiting her and she poured out some water for him to do Ablution with. Just then a cat came to drink from it; so he tilted the vessel towards it to let it drink. Kabsha continued; He saw me looking at him and said; Are you surprised; daughter of my brother? I said; Yes. He replied that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; cats are not impure. They intermingle with you. Yahya said that Malik said; There is no harm in that unless one sees impurities on the cat mouth. The Chapter on Ablution After Dreams Menstruation And Sexual Intercourse in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Zakat in Muwata Malik
