Have you anything to present to the Prophet ? She said; Yes. Then she took out a few loaves of barley bread and took a veil of hers and wrapped the bread with a part of it and sent me to Allah Messenger ﷺ. I went and found Allah Messenger ﷺ sitting in the Masjid with some people. I stood up before him. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to me; Has Abu Talha sent you? I said; Yes. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said to those who were with him. Get up and proceed. I went ahead of them as their forerunner and came to Abu Talha and informed him about it. Abu Talha said; O Um Sulaim! Allah Messenger ﷺ has come and we have no food to feed them. Um Sulaim said; Allah and His Apostle know best. So Abu Talha went out to receive them till he met Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Messenger ﷺ came in company with Abu Talha and they entered the house. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Um Sulaim! Bring whatever you have. So she brought that barley bread and Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered that bread to be broken into small pieces; and then Um Sulaim poured over it some butter from a leather butter container; and then Allah Messenger ﷺ said what Allah wanted him to say; i.e. blessing the food. Allah Messenger ﷺ then said; Admit ten men. Abu Talha admitted them and they ate to their fill and went out. He again said; Admit ten men. He admitted them; and in this way all the people ate to their fill; and they were seventy or eighty men. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2221		Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: The Prophet ﷺ said; The planet of earth will be a bread on the Day of Resurrection; and The resistible Allah will topple turn it with His Hand like anyone of you topple turns a bread with his hands while preparing the bread for a journey; and that bread will be the entertainment for the people of Paradise. A man from the Jews came to the Prophet and said; May The Beneficent Allah bless you; O Abul Qasim! Shall I tell you of the entertainment of the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection? The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes. The Jew said; The earth will be a bread; as the Prophet ﷺ had said. Thereupon the Prophet ﷺ looked at us and smiled till his premolar tooth became visible. Then the Jew further said; Shall I tell you of the udm additional food taken with bread they will have with the bread? He added; That will be Balam and Nun. The people asked; What is that? He said; It is an ox and a fish; and seventy thousand people will eat of the caudate lobe i.e. extra lobe of their livers. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3032		Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Abu Talha said to Um Sulaim; I have heard the voice of Allah Messenger ﷺ which was feeble; and I think that he is hungry. Have you got something to eat ? She took out some loaves of barley bread; then took her face-covering sheet and wrapped the bread in part of it; and pushed it under my garment and turned the rest of it around my body and sent me to Allah Messenger ﷺ. I went with that; and found Allah Messenger ﷺ in the Masjid with some people. I stood up near them; and Allah Messenger ﷺ asked me; Have you been sent by Abu Talha ? I said; Yes. He asked; With some food for us ? I said; Yes. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said to all those who were with him; Get up! He set out and all the people accompanied him and I proceeded ahead of them till I came to Abu Talha. Abu Talha then said; O Um Sulaim! Allah Messenger ﷺ has arrived along with the people; and we do not have food enough to feed them all. She said; Allah and His Apostle know better. So Abu Talha went out till he met Allah Messenger ﷺ. Then Abu Talha and Allah Messenger ﷺ came and entered the house. Allah Apostle said; Um Sulaim ! Bring whatever you have. She brought that very bread. The Prophet ﷺ ordered that it be crushed into small pieces; and Um Sulaim pressed a skin of butter on it. Then Allah Apostle said whatever Allah wished him to say to bless the food and then added; Admit ten men. So they were admitted; ate their fill and went out. The Prophet ﷺ then said; Admit ten more. They were admitted; ate their full; and went out. He then again said; Admit ten more! They were admitted; ate their fill; and went out. He admitted ten more; and so all those people ate their fill; and they were eighty men. I said; Yes Allah Apostle then said to the men around him; Get up! He set out accompanied by them and I went ahead of them till I reached Abu Talha and told him of the Prophet visit. Abu Talha said; O Um Sulaim! Allah Messenger ﷺ is coming with the people and we have no food to feed them. She said; Allah and His Apostle know better. So Abu Talha went out to receive Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Apostle came along with Abu Talha. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Um Sulaim! Bring whatever you have. She brought the bread which Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered to be broken into pieces. Um Sulaim poured on them some butter from an oilskin. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ recited what Allah wished him to recite; and then said; Let ten persons come to share the meal. Ten persons were admitted; ate their fill and went out. Then he again said; Let another ten do the same. They were admitted; ate their fill and went out. Then he again said; Let another ten persons do the same. They were admitted; ate their fill and went out. Then he said; Let another ten persons come. In short; all of them ate their fill; and they were seventy or eighty men. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6449		Narrated Jabir: We were digging the trench on the day of AlKhandaq i.e. Trench and we came across a big solid rock. We went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Here is a rock appearing across the trench. He said; I am coming down. Then he got up; and a stone was tied to his belly for we had not eaten anything for three days. So the Prophet ﷺ took the spade and struck the big solid rock and it became like sand. I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Allow me to go home. When the Prophet ﷺ allowed me I said to my wife; I saw the Prophet ﷺ in a state that I cannot treat lightly. Have you got something for him to eat? She replied; I have barley and a she goat. So I slaughtered the kid and she ground the barley; then we put the meat in the earthenware cooking pot. Then I came to the Prophet ﷺ when the dough had become soft and fermented and the meat in the pot over the stone trivet had nearly been well-cooked; and said; I have got a little food prepared; so get up O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; you and one or two men along with you for the food. The Prophet ﷺ asked; How much is that food? I told him about it. He said; It is abundant and good. Tell your wife not to remove the earthenware pot from the fire and not to take out any bread from the oven till I reach there. Then he said to all his companions ; Get up. So the Muhajirn i.e. Emigrants and the Ansar got up. When I came to my wife; I said; Allah Mercy be upon you! The Prophet came along with the Muhajirin and the Ansar and those who were present with them. She said; Did the Prophet ﷺ ask you how much food you had ? I replied; Yes. Then the Prophet ﷺ said; Enter and do not throng. The Prophet ﷺ started cutting the bread into pieces and put the cooked meat over it. He covered the earthenware pot and the oven whenever he took something out of them. He would give the food to his companions and take the meat out of the pot. He went on cutting the bread and scooping the meat for his companions till they all ate their fill; and even then; some food remained. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to my wife ; Eat and present to others as the people are struck with hunger. SahihMuslim-017-001-19035		Abu AlSaeed Khudri reported Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying that the earth would turn to be one single bread on the Day of Resurrection and the Almighty would turn it in His hand as one of you turns a loaf while on a journey. It would be a feast arranged in the honour of the people of Paradise. He the narrator further narrated that a person from among the Jews came and he said: Abu AlQasim; may the Compassionate Lord be pleased with you! May I inform you about the feast arranged in honour of the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection? He said: Do it; of course. He said: The earth would become one single bread. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ looked towards us and laughed until his molar teeth became visible. He then again said: May I inform you about that with which they would season it? He said: Do it; of course. He said: Their seasoning would be balim and fish. The Companions of the Prophet ﷺ said: What is this balam? SahihMuslim-017-001-20220		Asma daughter of Abu Bakr reported that the was married to Zubair. He had neither land nor wealth nor slave nor anything else like it except a bom. She further said: I grazed his horse. provided fodder to it and looked after it; and ground dates for his camel. Besides this; I grazed the camel; made arrangements for providing it with water and patched up the leather bucket and kneaded the flour. But I was not proficient in baking the bread; so my female neighbours used to bake bread for me and they were sincere women. She further said: I was carrying on my head the stones of the dates from the land of AlZubair which Allah Messenger ﷺ had endowed him and it was at a distance of two miles from Medina. She add: As I was one day carrying the atones of dates upon my head I happened to meet Allah Messenger ﷺ along with a group of his Companions. He called me and said to the camel to sit down so that he should make cite ride behind hirn. I told my husband: I felt shy and remembered your jealousy; whereupon he said: By Allah. the carrying of the stone dates upon your bead is more severe a burden than riding with him. She said: I led the life of hardship until Abu Bakr sent afterwards a female servant who took upon herself the responsibility of looking after the horse and I felt as it she had emancipated me. SahihMuslim-017-001-21096		Anas Bin Malik reported that Abu Talha said to Umm Sulaim: I felt some feebleness in the voice of Allah Messenger ﷺ and perceived that it was due to hunger; so have you anything with you? She said: Yes. She brought out barley loaves; then took out a head-covering of hers; in a part of which she wrapped those loaves and then put them beneath my mantle and covered me with a part of it. She then sent me to Allah Messenger ﷺ. I set forth and found Allah Messenger ﷺ sitting in the Masjid in the company of some persons. I stood near them; whereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Has Abu Talha sent you? I said; Yes. He said: Is it for a feast? I said. Yes. Thereupon Allah messenger ﷺ said tothose who were with him to get up He went forth and so I did before them; until I came to Abu Talha and informed him. Abu Talba said: Umm Sulaim; here comes Allah Messenger ﷺ along with people and we do not have enough food to feed them. She said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Abu Talha went out to receive him Until he met Allah Messenger ﷺ and Allah Apostle ﷺ came forward along with him until they both Allah Messenger; along with Abu Talha came in. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Umm Sulaim. bring forth that which you have with you. She brought the bread. Allah Messenger ﷺ commanded that the bread be broken into small pieces; and when Umm Sulaim had squeezed a small waterskin and put seasoning on it; Allah Messenger ﷺ recited something regarding it what Allah wished him to say. He then said: Allow ten guests to come in and have their meals. He permitted them; they ate until they had their fill. They then went out. He the Holy Prophet again said: Permit ten more and he the host gave permission to them. They ate until they had enough. Then they went out. he again said: Permit ten more until all the people had eaten to their fill; and they were seventy or eighty persons. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-8776		Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Abu Talha h said to Umm Sulaim: I heard the voice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sounding weak and I sensed some hunger in it. Do you have anything? She said: Yes. So she got some loaves of wheat bread; then she took out a Khimar of hers; and put the bread in it. Then she put it under my arm; and wrapped my upper body with part of it; and she sent me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: So I brought it to him; and I found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting in the Masjid; and there were people with him. So I stood among them; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Has Abu Talha h sent you? I said: Yes. He said: With food? I said: Yes. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to those with him: Stand up. So they left; and I left in front of them; until I came to Abu Talha h; and I told him that they were coming. Abu Talha h said: O Umm Sulaim! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is coming with people; and we dont have anything to feed them. Umm Sulaim said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: So Abu Talha h departed until he met up with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah came; while Abu Talha h was with him; until they entered; when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Come O Umm Sulaim! What do you have? So she brought him that bread; and he ﷺ ordered that it be broken into pieces. Umm Sulaim poured some butter from an oil-skin upon them; then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited whatever Allah willed for him to say over it. Then he said: Let ten come. So ten were admitted; and they ate until they were full; and then they left. Then he said: Let ten come. So ten were admitted; and they ate until they were full; and they left. Then he said: Let ten come. So ten were admitted; and they ate until they were full; and there were seventy or eighty men. She said to her female mawla; Give it to him. The mawla protested; You will not have anything to break your fast with. Aisha repeated; Give it to him; so she did so. When evening came; the people of a house or a man who did not usually give to them; gave them a sheep and some food to go with it. Aisha; umm Almuminin; called her mawla and said; Eat from this. He summoned one of the desert people and he began to eat and follow the grease in the dish with a morsel of bread. Umar said; It is as if you were poor. He said; By Allah. I have not eaten ghee nor have I seen food with it since such- and-such a time. Umar declared; I shall not eat clarified butter until people are given life again like they were first given life; i.e. on the Day of Rising.
